NEWS: The Princess of Asturias will swear an oath to the Constitution on October 31, the day of her 18th birthday, in a plenary session of Congress and Senate, as announced this Friday by Zarzuela Palace.

The date was agreed at the meeting held on Thursday at the initiative of the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, and in which the president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, as well as the representation of the Government and the King's House, were present.

After the protocol ceremony before the Courts, foreseen in the Constitution, Princess Leonor will receive the Necklace of the Order of Charles III in a ceremony at the Royal Palace in the presence of the powers of the State. This ceremony will be followed by a lunch with a representation of the highest state authorities.

On the other hand, the King's House has reported that after both institutional events, a family and private celebration will take place, which will be attended by the Kings, the Princess of Asturias, the Infanta Sofía, as well as the family of Don Felipe and that of Doña Letizia.

Sources have claimed King Juan Carlos and King Felipe’s sister will be attending this last celebration and will not be present at the institutional events.

Sofia shyly approaches holding her own hands, and looking down from both shyness and having to face a change of heart.

She feels bad about judging Rosa for being too pretty, even if Rosa doesn't know how she felt about pretty girls, she can still admit when she was wrong. She wipes her eyes of the tears that started to form from this apologetic thank you to the champion. But she looks up and tries to smile brightly.

Rosa is used to being approached by children of all ages, most of them fans of some of her more family-friendly roles like Lucario Woman, though a few simply because they admired her as champion. She smiles kindly at Sofía's timid approach, prepared to address either scenario, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

Instead it's gratitude for the good times and the memories. For the food and the chance to spend this time with those she loves, her new family. Rosa knows this is the Paldean girl's first Christmas in Unova, considering how recently Rin had returned with her, and she'd be lying if she said she hadn't gone out of her way to include some Paldean holiday elements in the festival to hopefully help Sofía feel more at home. Doña Alejandra's turrón, the occasional traditional villancico that could be heard over the speakers every once in a while, the little cellophane bag inside her pocket that contained her best attempts at making polvorones.

Emotive tears begin to well in her eyes just from looking at Sofía, though she also smiles. The urge to hug the girl is strong so she fights to contain it.

"De nada, Sofía. It means everything to me that you've been able to enjoy your time here alongside your loved ones." And it's also obvious that the Mavericks have been having the time of their lives by her side. She can't imagine the girl ending up with a more caring group of people. "That's what the holidays should be about, too; family, good times, and shared memories with those you care about. I hope you can continue to have more moments like this in your new home. And also—"

She pauses to pull out the holiday-printed bag of shortbread cookies and holds it out to her. "I made these polvorones for you, with some help from the nice lady that runs the turrón stand. I hope you'll share them with your papa and the others. ¡Feliz Navidad!"

Hello Tumblr people! I’m not good at expressing my thoughts/opinions but gonna try it because I wanted to share this (plus, a cruel meme and a fan video! :)), we know when Betty finds the letter and discovers everything, she becomes the “Armando” to Armando’s “Marcela”, meaning she acts like Armando in his relationship with Marcela (at least that’s how I perceive it, also it could be a karma for Armando for everything he has done to Marcela), Betty lies to him, makes him think that she’s using Terramoda’s money (meaning Ecomoda’s, you know why, i get so confused with the whole business stuff so let’s act as if we understand, or at least act as if I'm right please hehe), makes him think that Nicolás is her boyfriend now, she plays with him, with his mind, he wants to talk about it, he knows communication is something fundamental in their relationship, but the problem now is that Betty is not doing that, she’s not communicating, she’s refusing to give clear answers, especially with her “specific relationship” with Nicolás, she says she doesn’t have anything with him, only a friendship but her actions say otherwise, all I’m explaining is Armando’s perspective (something people forget, he’s not a villain, not gonna justify his actions here but his emotions/feelings are valid, how he acts on them is another conversation), he can’t think or accept the idea about Betty’s motives about doing all this stuff are because she found out everything so his feelings win, he’s jealous about Nicolás and he blames it all on him, he doesn’t even blame betty, he thinks betty is the only victim here because nicolás is using her (lol this man’s mind, and ofc Mario’s), now, ofc we know Betty’s perspective, she’s hurt, betrayed, dying inside to the point of becoming this person that later she regrets (something that I wonder is what she would’ve done if she didn’t hear el cuartel or Aura Maria specifically of the plan about making a man feel jealous, they’re talking about sofía here, and that’s where betty gets this whole idea, what she was going to do before that, what was her plan here, wait for an explanation? Leave? Idk, but I wonder), so yeah, I feel bad for both at this point, and we see it more in that scene where doña Margarita is talking about marriage with Armando and both look so miserable about the idea, about everything, also MARGARITA PLEASE PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR SON!!!!!!!, this woman doesn’t notice anything (pero qué está pasando aquí? Armando is the same as her mother though lol, that scene where betty looks miserable and crying and he believes that she’s okay, love is blind). You all, idk if it was just me but when I first watched the episode where Armando and Nicolás fight, and betty slaps him and he looks so hurt and then betty leaves with Nicolás and everyone (el cuartel, Hugo) leaves Armando alone…… that destroyed me, nobody cared about him in that moment, i know he was being intense in that moment, i know he’s the “boss” here and he was making a “spectacle” but I couldn’t help feeling so sad for him, he’s alone figuring out his feelings, and it’s not the only time he’s alone doing that, ugh having feelings for him makes me miserable but also i love him so worth it, anyways, yeah that was a fun fact about me, me crying in that scene because then he believes that Betty doesn’t love him anymore and that he chose nicolás when he left him there (his mind makes me laugh but also i would think that too and I would also go to a bar and let people hurt me because I hurted the person I love in the worst possible way, yeah I have issues and I love Betty so much too), so he really believes that Betty doesn’t love him (this man! She told him that she loved him days ago and now he believes that she doesn’t anymore, that really tells you how Armando perceives love, one mistake and love is gone…. Just hurted myself with that, the love he has experienced has been conditional, with his father more strongly, with Marcela, with his mother, with his best friend, except this person, this person who is loyal, supportive, who has been there for him in good times as bad times… Betty. I get it Armando, I also think that one mistake and love is gone, let’s go to therapy!), now to end this, Betty once again tells him that she still loves him, and not even that, that she has never stopped loving him (ugh, I’m miserable, why are they like that, they make me feel stuff), Armando is relieved about that and also he’s feeling a lot of things (lol), he loves her too much, that he finally accepts that he’s in love for the first time (poor Marcela but yay for Armando for acknowledging his feelings for the first time! But also boo because it’s too late, Betty is leaving already, anyways!), that he’s in love with Beatriz Pinzón Solano (ah, such a telenovela thing to say the full name but also i love it so much in here!), another anyways, this post is getting long so my point here was that I saw this beautiful and wrenching fan video about Armando that I first thought it was going to be about Betty’s suffering but in a way it is, Betty’s suffering through Armando’s suffering or Armando’s suffering through Betty’s (¿??? Idk I made up so many stuff in my mind), and after watching it I thought about making this meme and I laugh through the pain, love hurting myself, so we don’t know much about los Mendoza and Valencia’s background but we see the result, Don Roberto, in my opinion, is a nice man, elegant, very hard working, as a father though..… he’s cold, conditional, idk in my mind the fault is always on the parents (leave me alone I have issues), he’s cold but in the end, that’s something I would have loved to see, how him and Armando talked again so easy, idk but yay for Armando, anyways, in that scene where Armando gets exposed, Don Roberto is very cold, so rude, he just wants to humiliate his son in front of everyone about his mistakes, i get that Armando ruined the company (in time record ah! AH! 30 years destroyed in less than a year, that’s a record! Congrats Armando, I’m not being sarcastic but also that’s so mean for my part, ily armando) but leaving him alone, suffering later on? Is it a lesson? idk, you all, I'm not a parent but uf, just judging from the beginning everything was so off, why competing for the presidency… I get that could be an easy solution but that could be misinterpreted in a lot of ways! I'm getting lost again from the point, sharing parents like that, competing for their love and approval, i believe that’s how Armando felt, so when I was seeing this fanvideo, how Armando once again was competing for someone’s love, that reminded me of his dad and Daniel…. Something I wrote months ago about this: “it was such a life changing moment/experience for him, he suffered, he was hurt about losing a love that he thought he could never find but he did and he was losing it, that’s why he’s desperate, he had never known love like that (I’m referring about before, Betty so kind and gentle, she risked everything for him, she was unconditional to him)” “he finally found this love with Betty, he feels loved and he feels bad about what he’s doing he knows he doesn’t deserve that love  but he’s going to ignore that and enjoy this moment, and when he begins to love her, he follows that weird and sick train of experience he has had with Marcela, because he doesn’t know other love, all he knows is Marcela’s love in the romantic line, so Armando begins to love betty and he feels entitled to her, he now thinks that he deserves betty because he loves her (I’m talking about that scene where Armando finally breaks up with Marcela and she says that she loves him and she knows she “deserves” him because of that……*poker face* and Armando saying something like that in the scene where they’re outside from el mesón de San Diego, he says that Nicolás doesn’t “deserve” her because he is the one who really loves her, yeah……), so when Betty starts to act cold and distant, he thinks “oh once again they’re leaving me or stop loving me” because they don’t want him and they chose someone else over him *laughing through the pain*, but this time he’s gonna fight! He’s going to fight for that love (ugh, once again parallels with Marcela…… these rich people made me sad, mom please take me out of here!)” me crying with my own thoughts, get me out of here, meaning, my mind, anyways, that’s it, love the angst, the analysis I’ve read about them in here and the ones I have on my mind, love being mentally ill, to end in a happy note, I believe both of them paid for every wrong they did, they changed for the better, they changed for themselves (how it should be!), they grew with each other….. and without each other *sobbing* and in the end, they still love each other because they never stopped, they’re soulmates and they’re gonna be together for eternity (they told me themselves!), xoxo

I love Marcela, I felt so sad for her, for everything that happened for her but sometimes I can’t stand her, her actions are cruel sometimes, (the only one who I can love above everything is Betty so get out of here), but I believe that her ending was hopeful, she finally let go of someone who wasn’t good for her anymore, someone who didn’t love her anymore, an obsession, a fantasy, she finally let go of that but also of a place that wasn’t a good environment, she still has a part of the company and she knows it’s going to be alright in B&A’s hands, Ecomoda™(the sequel) doesn’t exist for me, only the lovely scenes of them, also i believe that they should leave or never stayed in Ecomoda because it’s not a good place for them either, but anyways! At least they have jobs and money….. and love yeah, and each other *cries again* and a beautiful baby girl named after a character who we never saw but she’s in my heart, my faceless woman lol.

Aura María doesn't speak English, and is likely is monolingual. She is seen confused multiple times when Freddy speaks to her in other languages

It is unknown whether Freddy is fluent in any other language, just that he knows random words that he likes to mix with his regular Spanish. (Hc that he is monolingual and he just likes to throw random words in foreign languages to seem "classy and educated" lol)

Betty is the character who speaks the most languages: Spanish, English, French, and a little of Italian

However, she wasn't able to order from a French menu, most likley due to the dishes being too fancy (which isn't normally the kind of thing you learn in a foreign language class lol)

Mariana is the only secretary who speaks English

Maria Beatriz has an attractive bodyguard that follows her everywhere, including to Ecomoda.

When Armando is in his worse emotional state, he doesn't wear a tie. The tie is in fact so symbolic of Armando as a character, as even the original actor who played Armando (Jorge Enrique Abello) gave Armando's tie to the new Armando actor (Erick Elias) for the new, modern Ysblf version, Betty in New York. Therefore, we can conclude thay when Armando takes off his tie he: a) isn't feeling like himself, b) is being sincere, and c) is being vulnerable.

Don Hermes and doña Julia became resignated about thinking that Betty would never get married. This made doña Julia cry.

Even though Calderón didn't want to be a father and wanted Patricia to get an abortion, when Patricia told him that she was supposedly keeping the (fake) baby but was moving away and he would never meet the child, Calderón didn't like the idea of never getting to meet his child.

He even considered getting married to Patricia in order to not losing complete access to the supposed baby's life.

This is in contrast to Daniel, who actively tried to get rid of Patricia in order to never assume his supposed fatherhood. We can even see on his omaginations that, were the supposed child ever to come try to meet him, he would deny it and completly reject the child.

We can also see that the two people Daniel cares the most about are Marcela and Roberto, as they are the only ones whose disapproval seem to move him (in his imagined escenario in which he rejects his fatherhood)

Daniel has a government job, but everyone says this job doesn't pay much and his main source of income is Ecomoda

Daniel mever showed genuine interest in Ecomoda, unlike Armando, and Marcela says that this is the real reason why she voted for Armando to be president over Daniel

Betty's office was a storage room that was closed through all of Armando's life. He literally found out about what was inside during the first episode!

Inesita's children are called Jorge and Juliana. He is the oldest and went away 18 years previous to the start of the novela to joing the Soviet Union, where he married a Russian woman. She went away later and married a Canadian man with whom she lives in Canada.

It's said that Jorge calls Inesita once a month, sometimes once a week. Juliana, however, is not mentioned

When Daniel had his date with Patricia, he started eating dinner without her after only a few minutes of her being late. When he had his dinner with Betty, he wanted for 1/2 hr without even asking for the menu!

En 1941 tras la invasión germana de Grecia, la familia real abandona el país, y se instalan en Egipto primero, más tarde Sudáfrica y finalmente en Londres. El 1 de setiembre de 1946, el pueblo griego decidía en plebiscito restaurar la monarquía en Grecia en la persona de Jorge II, tío de Sofía, que no tenía descendencia, por lo que los padres de la joven princesa, Pablo y Federica se convertían en Príncipes herederos de Grecia. El 1 de abril de 1947, el rey Jorge II de Grecia fallecía sin descendencia, su hermano el Príncipe Pablo se convertía en Rey de Grecia, con el título de Pablo I.

Sofía tuvo una educación internacional, con 13 años fue enviada a estudiar a un internado alemán Schule Schloss Salem donde permaneció cuatro años. Sus estudios universitarios los realiza en la Universidad de Atenas donde estudia Bellas Artes, Arqueología y Puericultura.

La princesa es una apasionada de la arqueología. En 1959 Sofía escribe con su hermana Irene un libro sobre arqueología En Decelia: Fragmentos cerámicos de Decelia y Miscelanea arqueológica

Sofía formó parte del equipo Olímpico de Vela griego en los Juegos olímpicos de Roma en 1960, como suplente, su hermano Constantino también participó en los mismos. El equipo ganó la medalla de oro.

En 1960 el nombre de la princesa griega empieza a sonar con fuerza como candidata ideal para casarse con el príncipe Harald de Noruega, relacionados por lazos de sangre, ambos eran descendientes del rey Cristian IX de Dinamarca. Sin embargo, el príncipe noruego tenía otros planes con una plebeya llamada Sonja.

En junio de 1961 en la boda de los duques de Kent en Inglaterra, la princesa Sofía se reencuentra con el príncipe Juan Carlos de España (presunto heredero de los derechos dinásticos en España). Los jóvenes se concian desde 1954, cuando Juan Carlos fuera uno de los jóvenes príncipes que acudiera a la invitación de la reina Federica para disfrutar de un crucero por las islas griegas.

El 13 de setiembre de 1961, en Lausana, Suiza, se anuncia el compromiso matrimonial del entonces Príncipe Juan Carlos de España (24 años) con la Princesa Sofía de Grecia de 22 años (hija del Rey Pablo y la Reina Federica). Es en Suiza donde vive en el exilio la última reina de España, Victoria Eugenia, abuela paterna de Juan Carlos. El anillo de compromiso está realizado a partir de la fundición de unas monedas que pertenecieron a Alejandro el Grande, tiene un rubí central.

La boda se celebra en Atenas, el 14 de mayo de 1962, la familia real española vive en el exilio entre Suiza y Portugal. Debido a que ambos contrayentes profesaban distintas religiones, la católica y la ortodoxa, se celebran tres ceremonias matrimoniales. La primera es por el rito católico en la Catedral de San Denis de Atenas, la segunda es la ceremonia ortodoxa que tiene lugar en la Catedral ortodoxa Metropolitana de la Virgen María de Atenas y la tercera es la ceremonia civil celebrada en el Palacio Real de Atenas. La novia lucía un vestido creado por el diseñador de raíces griegas, Jean Dessés. El vestido, es de cuello alto redondo con manga tres cuartos, de seda blanca, la parte delantera va recubierta de encaje, la falda simula tener dos capas, lleva una cola de 6 metros. El velo es una reliquia familiar de encaje, fue el mismo que llevó su madre, la Reina Federica en su boda, sujeta el velo, la Tiara Prusiana, regalo de sus padres por su 18 cumpleaños (la Tiara era propiedad de la Reina Federica, que la había recibido de su madre). Cuarenta y dos años después de la boda en Atenas, otra futura Reina de España, Letizia Ortiz portó en su boda con el Príncipe Felipe de Asturias, la misma tiara, prestada por la Reina Sofía. La Princesa Sofía de Grecia, se convertía en Su Alteza Real la Princesa Sofía de España. La princesa Sofía se convierte al catolicismo poco después de la boda, renunciando a sus derechos dinásticos.

La dictadura española envío como regalo de bodas a la princesa Sofía una tiara, la floral.

Los príncipes de España fijan su residencia en Madrid.

El 20 de diciembre de 1963 nacía en Madrid la primera hija del matrimonio, la infanta Elena.

El 6 de marzo de 1964, el rey Pablo I de Grecia fallecía en Atenas a los 62 años a causa de un cáncer de estómago. Le sucedía en el trono su hijo y heredero Constantino. Su entierro tiene lugar en Tatoi a donde acuden los príncipes Sofía y Juan Carlos.

En setiembre de 1964, Sofía y Juan Carlos vuelven a Grecia para asistir a la boda del rey Constantino con la princesa danesa Ana María.

El 13 de junio de 1965, la princesa Sofía daba a luz a su segunda hija, la infanta Cristina. En diciembre de 1967, la princesa Sofía recibe en Madrid a su hermano y al resto de la familia real griega que habían abandonado el país, tras el fracaso del contragolpe del rey Constantino contra la dictadura militar. La familia real griega después de la parada en Madrid continúa su exilio hacia Roma.

El 30 de enero de 1968, la princesa traía al mundo al esperado heredero, el príncipe Felipe. En 1973, la princesa decide continuar su educación y comienza en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid la carrera de Ciencias Humanísticas. Consigue también un doctorado en derecho civil por la Universidad de Oxford.

Durante los años como príncipes empiezan a ejercer como representantes de España en el extranjero, la dictadura ve a la pareja como un excelente activo que puede promocionar la cara amable de la misma en el exterior. Los príncipes viajan a Estados unidos en visita oficial en enero de 1971 donde fueron recibidos por Nixon y su esposa. Sofía daba una imagen de la mujer moderna en España, una mujer joven, elegante, con educación universitaria y poliglota.

El 20 de noviembre de 1975, el dictador español, Franco muere, y dos días después, las cortes franquistas designan a Juan Carlos Rey de España, Sofía se convierte en Su Majestad la Reina Consorte Sofía de España. Sofía luce ese día uno de sus vestidos más icónicos, un vestido largo rosa complementado por un abrigo del mismo color con las mangas ribeteadas en pequeños cristales. El modelo es obra de las hermanas Molinero. Lo complementaba con el collar de perlas de la reina Victoria Eugenia, a la que ella sucedía en el título.

Unos días después tiene lugar la ceremonia religiosa de la coronación en la iglesia de San Jerónimo el real, a la que la reina acude con un vestido del mismo estilo que el de las cortes pero en verde también con abrigo a juego obra también de las hermanas Molinero. En esta ocasión lo complementa con mantilla negra y el collar de rubíes que forma parte del juego de tiara, pendientes, anillo y collar que le regaló el armador griego Niardos por su boda.

El 14 de mayo de 1977 En el Palacio de la Zarzuela, el Conde de Barcelona, Juan de Borbón, renuncia a sus derechos dinásticos y entrega al rey Juan Carlos la jefatura de la casa de Borbón.

Parece que los años desde su boda hasta la coronación como rey de Juan Carlos fueron años felices para el matrimonio. Todo cambia tras la proclamación de Juan Carlos como rey.

Es en esta época cuando Sofía se entera de las infidelidades de su marido, que parece le ha salido rana. La joven Sofía abandona España con sus hijos, dispuesta a pedir el divorcio, se va con su madre y sus hijos a la India. Parece que el rey la convence para que vuelva a España. Sofía educada en la disciplina germánica acepta su destino y regresa. La relación del matrimonio ya no vuelve a ser igual, hay distancia entre ellos. Sofía se centra en actividades humanitarias y de la salud, donde preside multitud de fundaciones. Atiende múltiples compromisos relacionados con este campo. Se va perfilando como una reina cercana al pueblo con un carácter amable y humanitario. Prevalecen en ella los dos polos, el griego (más cercano) y el germano (que le proporciona su disciplina férrea).

Ejerce como primera dama de este país en los diferentes compromisos de su marido en el extranjero y en España. Y desarrolla una labor humanitaria en la cooperación internacional con diferentes viajes en solitario para apoyar proyectos de desarrollo en países subdesarrollados. Es una de las impulsoras de los microcréditos para las mujeres de países en desarrollo.

El 6 de febrero de 1981 recibe un duro golpe, la muerte de su madre, la reina Federica ( a la que estaba muy unida, Federica pasaba largas temporadas en Madrid). Federica muere en Madrid se dice que después de una intervención de cirugía plástica, las fuentes oficiales dicen que fue una intervención oftalmológica. La reina Sofía acompaña el féretro de su madre a Grecia para su entierro, donde la familia real recibe permiso para entrar durante unas horas. Después de la muerte de la reina Federica, Sofía se apoya más que nunca en su hermana pequeña, la Princesa Irene que permanece soltera. Irene pasa largas temporadas en el Palacio de la Zarzuela. Ambas comparten su afición por la arqueología y la música.

En 1981 empieza una tradición que conserva hasta hoy, su asistencia a los Premios Príncipe de Asturias todos los años. Al principio por la corta edad del Príncipe Felipe era acompañado por sus padres, en los últimos años sólo Sofía, desde que el príncipe se casó, la reina no ha dejado de acudir y ahora que los premios se denominan Princesa de Asturias (en honor a su nieta Leonor) Sofía continúa acudiendo todos los octubres a Oviedo.

En enero de 1986, Sofía como madre orgullosa contemplaba a su querido Felipe jurar la constitución española ante las cortes generales, como heredero de la corona de España.

Los veranos de la reina los pasa en Mallorca donde al principio del reinado acudía toda la familia real y en los últimos tiempos sólo ella se mantiene fiel a la isla, pasando sus vacaciones en la misma. Allí recibe en los últimos años a sus nietos y a su hija Elena.

El entierro del conde de Barcelona (abril de 1993) es uno de los últimos acontecimientos familiares en los que se puede ver a Sofía y Juan Carlos cómplices y unidos.

En marzo de 1995 se casaba la primogénita de la pareja, la infanta Elena, en Sevilla con el aristócrata Jaime de Marichalar. La reina se veía emocionada vestida con un vestido azul de Toni Benítez complementado por la tradicional mantilla española.

En octubre de 1997, en Barcelona se casaba la hija mediana de los reyes, la infanta Cristina con el deportista vasco, Iñaki Urdangarín. Se dice que Cristina es la hija que más se parece a su madre, tanto en lo físico como en carácter. La reina Sofía se vestía para la ocasión con un traje dos piezas en tonos rosa de Margarita Nuez complementado por una pamela.

El 17 de julio de 1997 nacía en Madrid el primer nieto de los reyes de España, Felipe Juan Froilán de Marichalar, la reina Sofía estrenaba su papel de abuela y parecía radiante en la presentación del recién nacido.

En mayo de 1998, la reina Sofía volvía por vez primera a Grecia desde febrero de 1981 (entierro de la reina Federica). Los reyes de España visitaban por vez primera Grecia de forma oficial. A pesar del gran temple de Sofía se la pudo ver emocionada cuando bajaba del avión apoyada en el brazo de su marido . Fue un viaje en el que se pudo ver al matrimonio cómplice.

En setiembre de 1999 nacía en Barcelona el segundo nieto, Juan Valentín Urdangarín.

La tercera nieta real nacía en Madrid en setiembre de 2000, Victoria Federica de Marichalar. El nombre era un homenaje a los orígenes de su abuela. El cuarto nieto llega en diciembre de 2000, Pablo Nicolás Urdangarín, de nuevo homenaje de sus hijas a las raíces de la abuela griega. La infanta Cristina la hace de nuevo abuela, en abril de 2002 nace Miguel Urdangarín.

La reina acompañó en calidad de madrina a su hijo, el príncipe Felipe al altar en mayo de 2004. El heredero de la corona se casaba con la periodista Letizia Ortiz. La reina Sofía lucía para la ocasión un vestido largo de seda verde firmado por Margarita Nuez complementado por una mantilla negra. La complicidad entre madre e hijo se aprecia en las fotos familiares donde ambos salen cogidos de la mano.

En 2005 la reina va a dar la bienvenida a dos nietos más. En junio nacía Irene Urdangarín, un nombre que de nuevo homenajea las raíces griegas. Irene es la nieta que guarda un gran parecido físico con su abuela materna .

Los príncipes de Asturias daban el 31 de octubre de 2005, la bienvenida a su primogénita y heredera del trono (si no hay hijo varón), la princesa Leonor, en el momento de su nacimiento, infanta Leonor. Los reyes Sofía y Juan Carlos serán sus padrinos de bautizo. Dos años más tarde en abril de 2007 nacía la segunda hija de los príncipes de Asturias y última nieta de los reyes, Sofía (homenaje del hijo tan querido a la madre).

Los últimos años del reinado de Juan Carlos fueron difíciles para la reina Sofía, se vio humillada en público por el rey en varios actos con desplantes, como el forcejeo para soltarse del brazo de Sofía en Santiago de Compostela en la ofrenda al apóstol o las palabras de menosprecio de Juan Carlos hacia la afición a la música de Sofía.

Su matrimonio está acabado desde hace muchos años, pero en los últimos años se sabe que lo está totalmente. No comparten nada más obligaciones y pocas, porqué Juan Carlos no parece dispuesto a ejercer como rey emérito. Su última aparición juntos fue en verano en Mallorca y probablemente por obligación del rey Felipe. También han sido difíciles como madre primero la separación de la Infanta Elena (2007) y posterior divorcio (2009), cuando la reina es confesamente contraria al divorcio. Además estaba su gran apego a Jaime de Marichalar con el que mantiene una buena relación. Los escándalos de corrupción de su hija Cristina y su marido, que propiciaron en contra del criterio de Sofía, su expulsión de la familia real.

Por fin, el 2 de junio de 2014 sus sacrificios personales, tuvieron su recompensa (dicen). Juan Carlos anunciaba su abdicación en su hijo Felipe.

La coronación de Felipe como rey nos mostró una Sofía emocionada y feliz. Su hijo la homenajeo en público en su discurso de coronación ante las cortes. Sofía pasaba a ser Su Majestad la Reina Emérita Sofía de España.

A pesar de su “retiro” continua desempeñando su papel como reina con una agenda repleta de compromisos. Poco o nada se conoce de la verdadera Sofía, sólo lo que cuentan sus biógrafos. Si lo que cuentan las biografías es cierto, es una mujer tremendamente conservadora, contraria al matrimonio homosexual, al divorcio, al aborto, a la eutanasia. No se sabe si ha logrado adaptarse a su país de adopción, es público que sólo usa la lengua española en público en privado habla en inglés con su familia.

De sus relaciones personales parece que sus grandes amistades son las de su infancia, como la princesa Tatiana Radziwill (prima suya) y sus hermanos Constantino e Irene. Por parentesco mantiene buenas relaciones con las monarquías europeas, donde se la puede ver en distintos eventos totalmente integrada. También mantiene buenas relaciones con las monarquías árabes y la nipona.

Se dice que no mantiene una gran relación con su nuera, a pesar que en público se muestra lo contrario. Tal vez se deba al gran conservadurismo de Sofía frente a Letizia. Pero eso forma parte de las leyendas urbanas. Con Juan Carlos sabemos que del matrimonio queda muy poco, la única palabra que el rey emérito tuvo para la que todavía es su esposa, y que él considero amable fue " la reina es una gran profesional" Dicen que a Sofía no le sentó demasiado bien y no me extraña, porqué ese calificativo se puede aplicar a un asalariado pero a la madre de tus hijos, suena raro. Sofía cumple 84 años.Es nieta, hija de reyes, hermana de rey, reina por matrimonio y madre de rey puede que llegue a ser abuela de reina. Su madre, Federica diría que ha cumplido con su destino.

The Clinton family spent three days on the island on a private visit , without agendas or protocol, but full of cultural visits. His last day in Mallorca was joined by the then President of the Government, José María Aznar , and his wife, Ana Botella , with whom they visited Calviá , Andratx and sa Dragonera, among others. Depois de conhecer o relatório sobre as atividades dos diferentes programas da Fundação Princesa de Girona (FPdGI) até o momento em 2023, Sua Alteza Real a Princesa das Astúrias e Girona, acompanhada pela Infanta Doña Sofía, decidiu visitar a sede da Fundação, na cidade de Girona, onde puderam saudar e conversar com a equipe de profissionais que trabalham na Fundação Princesa de Girona (FPdGI) e conhecer seu trabalho diário, no local onde são preparadas e organizadas atividades ao longo do ano , em Girona e em diferentes partes da Espanha.

O lema que preside a sede é o mesmo que baliza os objetivos da Fundação Princesa das Astúrias: “Sempre com os jovens”.

Their Majesties the King and Queen and Their Royal Highnesses the Princess of Asturias and of Girona, and the Infanta Doña Sofía presided over the award ceremony of the “Princess of Girona Foundation Awards 2023” to the violinist María Dueñas; the engineer and founder CEO of Open Cosmos, Rafel Jordà Siquier; to the Doctor in Biomedicine and professor at Yale, Marc Schneeberger Pané; to the art therapist and founder of the Palliative Art Foundation, Silvia Fernández Cadevall and to the CEO and co-founder of the Kidogo child care network, Sabrina Habib.

Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!!

Today, January 30th, King Felipe turns 55 years old. Born in Madrid, he was named after the first Borbón who reigned in Spain (Felipe V) and his parents are King Juan Carlos of Spain and Sofía of Greece.

He was baptised with the names of Felipe, Juan (after his paternal grandfather), Pablo (after his maternal grandfather), Alfonso (after Alfonso XIII, his great-grandfather) de Todos los Santos, his godparents were Queen Victoria Eugenia (his great-grandmother) and the Count of Barcelona.

In 1981 Felipe received the Collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece (an order of chivalry founded in 1430 in Bruges of which the King of Spain is Grand Master) and on his 18th birthday he swore loyalty to the King, before the Spanish Parliament, taking an oath to discharge his duties faithfully, to abide by the Constitution and the law and ensure that they are abided by, and to respect the rights of citizens and the Autonomous Communities, fully undertaking his institutional role as successor to the Crown.

His Majesty studied Law and Economy at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid after receiving military training in the Army, Air Force and the Navy. The then Prince of Asturias finished his education with a Master's Degree in International Relationships at Georgetown University's Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service.

On 22 May 2004 at the Santa María la Real de la Almudena Cathedral of Madrid the Prince of Asturias married Doña Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano. They have two daughters, both born in Madrid. Leonor, b. 2005, is the current Princess of Asturias and her younger sister Sofía, b. 2007 is second in line to the throne.

Felipe became King on 19 June 2014 after his father's abdication, taking the Oath set forth in Article 61 of the Constitution and was proclaimed King before Parliament, with the name of Felipe VI.
