Talk to Don Benjamín. Find out who wasn't at the meeting, and don't let him ever enter the hotel again.

Hi! I saw your old reply regarding Alicia's baby. I'm rewatching season 3 and to me it seems pretty obvious that only Julio can be the father based on the timeline. It's emphasized many times during the season that she was "not doing her marital duty" for months. She even confesses to J when she does sleep with D, and there're indications of the pregnancy during even the middle of the season (running out to vomit). But J&A are shown meeting up in the secret room in the middle of the nights...
Oh, yeah, even if there's no way to 100% confirm it, I really do tend to think Julio is the father, too...I remember when I first saw that episode and the floppy-haired little boy for the first time, I was like, "Aw, baby Julio." It was just after that that I thought that Diego was still technically a possibility, but your points here are good ones.
Thank you for the ask! I love to talk about this show...drop by any time!

Have some questions after watching Gran hotel. Who is the father of Alicia's baby? It seems like the last person she sleeps with is Diego (on screen anyway). Also not sure if I missed it but how did Diego get the letter from Christina?
Hi, anon! I’m sorry for the delay in responding to this ask -- I was on hiatus from my blog for a very long time.
Those are great questions:
1. The baby’s paternity: I don’t think there’s any way we can know this definitively unless there’s an interview out there with one of the writers. The baby appears to have Julio-style hair, but that’s not strong evidence. So I think it’s just left up to the viewers to decide what their own happy ending would be: either the child is biologically Julio’s, or Julio is raising him as his own son regardless.
2. Diego getting the letter: This, admittedly, stumped me, and I needed to go back and re-watch, because unless I missed something, we never actually see Diego taking the letter.
What we do have, though, are some clues as to why, when, and how he got it.
EPISODE 1x07:
* When Diego gets out of jail, Teresa warns him that if he doesn’t get the letter back from Cristina, he won’t get to be manager or marry Alicia -- so we know he’s extra motivated to get the letter however he can. * Cristina is seen going to the hotel for her meeting with Teresa but, crucially, we never get confirmation that she actually has the letter with her. * As Cristina is setting the trap for Teresa, we see Diego coming through the hotel’s main entrance and looking enigmatic. We have no idea where he has been:

EPISODE 1x08:
* At the beginning of the episode, Julio arrives at Pascual’s house and finds Cristina’s luggage in disarray. Who knocked it over? Julio doesn’t stop to investigate, and IIRC we don’t hear anything else about it.
Tumblr media
* The next we hear about the letter, Diego is telling Teresa that he has it, but he never actually says how he got it.
So, taking the evidence we’ve got, Diego waited for Cristina to leave Pascual’s, broke in, and rummaged around until he found the letter, which is why the luggage is messed up and explains where Diego was returning from that night. And the reason we don’t get to see him breaking into Pascual’s is because the show wants us to view Diego as a possible suspect in Cristina’s murder.
(Also, just to be thorough, I checked the Spanish DVDs -- while there is a deleted scene on there of Diego looking at the letter in his office, there’s no scene of Diego actually getting the letter. So we really are left to figure it out on our own.)
Thank you for the ask! I’m sorry again that it took so long to respond. I love discussing GH, so feel free to send anything else! I’ll try not to be so long next time.

Only we and a few staff members know what happened with the babies.           Not a word will leave this hotel. Our good name won't be tarnished.
