#doesn't matter that they were WindClan kits

i like the part about Mudclaw's rebellion in Nightcloud's bio, where it starts simple right - he is the rightful leader bc he was the deputy and it's sus that ThunderClan insists that Onewhisker should be blessed. and how both she and Crowfeather agree with Mudclaw is the right one, even thought they don't agree on other things (namely how much truth as ThunderClan speaking and all).
and then Mudclaw goes mask off when Hawkfrost joins and brings open Thistles with him in. and Nightcloud starts having some doubts, because.. 'wait is that actually right'. but she is a bit too deep in this shit to bail out. and Hawkfrost is using the ever present 'hypothetical massacre' that will definitely happen if ThunderClan gets what they want (crowning of their totally spy Onewhisker) and it triggers something what Hillrunner used to say when she was a kit. so surely there must be some truth in there, right. it's actually reasonable to kill Onewhisker, right..? yes, to prevent ThunderClan massacring and driving them out they need to kill those that side with them, that's the only way. Hawkfrost and Mudclaw are right.. until they werent. like she was already tiptoeing that thin line between hard traditionalism and outright Thistle Law, but that was really pushing her over to the right side.
at least that's how i interpret it! i dont want to say she was a soft Thistle, bc it sounds like an oxymoron lol, but definitely somewhere in the very short very thin middle between traditionalist and it, while still parroting the dogwhistles (thistlewhistles).
Thistlewhistles LMAO
Something I'm getting at with Mudclaw's Rebellion that I'm glad people are picking up on is that there's a point where the differences between them all don't matter anymore.
Is Mudclaw himself a true supporter of Thistle Law, or is he just willing to work with them to benefit himself? In the end, he's invited TigerClan cats like Blackclaw into his cause. He repeats all the same rhetoric, and exploits xenophobia to his own ends. He's organized an insurrection. He never states an opinion on the Queen's Rights, which is the "litmus" test for if they've crossed the line between Traditionalism and Thistle Law...
but it doesn't matter. The distinction is no longer meaningful. If it grows like a thistle...
Nightcloud, too. She was born under Queen's Rights. She felt suspicious when Mudclaw started bringing in those outsiders to the rebellion. She was too far in to back out. She had a sympathetic backstory and good, understandable reasons to be so paranoid about WindClan's weakness.
Didn't matter; in the end she fell in line, was complicit in the assassination attempt.
Cats like Crowfeather don't even believe that Onewhisker lied. He just truly felt that Mudclaw was the better leader, and Tallstar's last-minute madness shouldn't be considered legitimate. You don't have to believe the conspiracy to support its actions, you can just be a VERY useful idiot.
In the end, literally nothing good came of this conflict. It's the start of Onestar's downfall, several people died, they were fighting peat fires for weeks. Your good intentions mean nothing when you ally with hate movements.

LionHoney Family
Leafstripe
The firstborn kit of Lionblaze and Honeyfern. She was named after Lionblaze's mother, Leafpool, after she died in The Great Battle. Unlike her namesake, Leafstripe is a fighter and can be quiet feisty and temperamental. She was nudged towards medicine at a young age, which she didn't mind at first since she does love her Uncle Jayfeather, but as she realized why, she became more rebellious and wary of being soft. She loves to battle, and is fiercely loyal to her clan. The moth wings she wears behind her ear were found in the mouth of the very first piece of prey she ever caught, and she's kept them ever since as a token of her warriorhood. She's incredibly close with her littermate, Bramblesong.
Bramblesong
He was named after Lionblaze's adoptive father, Brambleclaw, who died in The Great Battle. Unlike his namesake, Bramblesong is softspoken, shy, and doesn't like to fight. He takes up the role of a Caretaker, and is especially fond of caring for kits. He wants a litter of his own someday, but he knows he'd never feel that way about a she-cat. Leafstripe has offered to be a surrogate for him if he wants to raise kits, but the more that offer starts to become true, the more Leafstripe seems to squirm...
Spotfur
The first born kit of Lionblaze and Honeyfern's second litter - Spotfur was always considered rather ordinary. She wasn't as strong willed as Flywhisker, nor as social as Snaptooth. She never thought it'd be her who'd step up to rally against Hollystar and urge her to fight and not sulk. After Sparkfire's betrayal, Hollystar had become complacent in the codebreaker trials. While Spotfur loved her Aunt, she was disgusted with her choices, and she led a rebellion against the possessed Shadowsight's decrees. She lost her mate, Stemleaf, in the battles, but did discover she was carrying his kits. She bears Lionblaze's first grandchildren - Stemkit, Bristlekit, and Tigerkit.
Flywhisker
A dark gray kitten at her mother's golden belly, Flywhisker strongly takes after her grandfather, Crowfeather. With her prideful and headstrong personality, she often got scolded and called disrespectful as an apprentice. Many joked she was "just like a young Crowfeather", and those words got to her. She'd talk about WindClan with her brother Snaptooth, and how they have kin there - how she looked so much like Crowfeather. When her own father is forced to leave ThunderClan during the codebreaker trials, Flywhisker leaves as well, fed up with the clan she grew up in. Snaptooth follows her, hoping she'll come back if they go to WindClan like they always talked about, but Flywhisker scoffs. It was never about the clan. It was always about the flawed system and the value placed in blood. As a kittypet, it didn't matter where she came from or whose blood she had. She could just be herself, not reminding her twolegs of any other cat.
Snaptooth
The smallest of Lionblaze's and Honeyfern's kits with a frame of pure muscle, Snaptooth is an excitable, sociable, and bright-eyed tom. He's very close with his sisters and loves his family, but when everything falls apart during the codebreaker trials, he leaves ThunderClan in hopes of bringing those he loves back together. He ends up taking shelter in WindClan, hoping Flywhisker will return from being a kittypet if she knew they could join WindClan together. However, when she turns his offer down, Snaptooth ends up choosing to stay in WindClan with his cousin Smokehaze. He had been introduced to a life he had never known before. While he certainly struggles with his short legs and large form against the moor, he feels happier there, and is content knowing his family in ThunderClan are safe in their home once more.

Fun Facts about each WCR Protagonist: Crowfeather Edition!
He had an incredible bond with his mother when he was little, and his older brother, Eaglefoot. His father, Deadfoot, sadly died when Crowkit was small, roughly 2 moons old. He feels like he has to make his dad proud and put some pressure onto himself.
Originally, he did not want to go on the Journey. The first cat to come to him was Ashfoot's old friend, Morningflower, who died in the place of Gorsepaw during TPB.
He had a "friendship" with Cranberrypaw as they train together. Cranberrypaw claims they are friends, and acts friendly towards him, but to him, she is like an annoying little sister, and he doesn't want to think about a sister after losing his own...
He also has a bit of a rivalry with Nightpaw/Nightcloud. She got her name early after catching managing to bringing down a hawk single hand- er... Single pawed? She killed a hawk and managed to bring home a load of grubs to eat.
His brother and sister, Hillkit and Downkit, survived, but his sister Downpaw died from a poisoned rabbit. That night, his father visited him with his sister and told him that to prevent the whole Clan, no, the whole FOREST, from having Downpaw's fate, he needed to go. This was the push that made him go on the Journey.
He is a descendant of Moon Flight, through her kits. One of their own descendants had was a surrogate for a Windclan couple and accidentally brought the Windstar Bloodline back to Windclan. It is most likely on Honey Pelt's side.
This means, though it doesn't matter in terms of Kin, he is related to Blackstar, who is the descendant of Spider Paw.
He and Feathertail are no longer having a weird 20-minute romance arc. Instead, she helps him with his grief and feelings about legacy. She is a good friend and like a big sister to him.
Leafpaw, however, IS on the Journey with them, and the 2 become close. They genuinely develop interest, then like, then adoration, then real love for each other.
Crowfeather's brother, Hillfang (who got his name while Crowpaw was on the Journey) is a massive Musclaw supporter, and after that battle, when Hillfang is killed, he and Leafpool run away together at Leafpool's suggestion.
He is overjoyed when Leafpool tells him she is pregnant, but also heartbroken. If he leaves for Thunderclan, Onestar is going to pitch a fit and possibly start war. Onestar changed after getting those lives. He doesn't trust anyone anymore.
Nightcloud was also in hot water. She was a huge Mudclaw supporter, probably his biggest, and her loyalty is being questioned constantly. She and Crowfeather are BOTH up for exile.
They don't want to be mates, but suddenly settling down and starting a family would definitely ease suspicions. Ah, of course, they were just young adults who weren't sure what they wanted in life!
He and Nightcloud just... Weren't meant to be together. While he did bring her food and some stuff for her nest while she was pregnant, even naming their stillborn son Cloudkit. The other son, the one who lasted for about only a few minutes, was named by Nightcloud to be Smokekit. (Yes, this is where Breezepelt gets a name idea for his own daughter, Smokehaze.)
Crowfeather at first suggests to Leafpool when she tells him she is pregnant that they should run again, raise their kits somewhere else, away from judgement. Unfortunately, Leafpool is too emotional for that conversation.
He and Leafpool actually did discuss names though, they picked The Three's names.
He didn't name Breezepelt (Breezekit was a name Nightcloud always liked, and Crowfeather struggled to pick names with Leafpool already) but in WCR, he actually does love his son. The big problem? He never loved Nightcloud, and didn't want to be with her at all. They fight constantly. Nightcloud loves Breezepelt with her whole heart and soul, but Crowfeather, still having deep love for his Thunderclan family, doesn't feel right about it. Is it okay to love Breezepelt? He knows he and Nightcloud should never have been mates, he never wanted to be with her, but does that mean Breezepelt shouldn't exist? He thinks about it a lot.
He and Nightcloud, however, both agreed heavily on who Breezekit's mentor would be. Whitetail! Fitting that Whitetail's daughter Heatherkit would be apprenticed to Crowfeather!
During A Broken Crow's Nest, the reduxed Crowfeather's Trial, he LEAVES Windclan to join Thunderclan permanently, after finding Nightcloud and helping her and her new mate Pickle get back into Windclan. He is still in Thunderclan as of River. His first Thunderclan appearance is in The Hopeless Storm.
He was penalized by Bramblefake for being a Codebreaker and has his apprentice taken away for fear that he would "corrupt" him. His apprentice was Baypaw, who was switched over to Frogsong, a warrior who followed Bramblefake's every word.
He is extremely proud of all his children. Hollyleaf AND Breezepelt are both deputies in their respective Clans.

Pine(star) x Jake and Tallstar x Jake
-
Their kits are both different arcs, like:
Scrouge (from Quince) | Firestar (from Nutmeg)
Jake is literally a hella Polyamorous Tom with
2 girlfriends and 2 boyfriends
As much as I like Jake and his kittens can warrior cat two legs PLEASE just neuter their damn kitties like oh my god.
Tumblr media
PineJake kit is named Fish Sticks (Fish/ Sticks for short) and TallJake kit is named Flarestreak. more info under the cut
Pinestar and Jake actually never set out to have kittens together, but by the time they were well into dating each other Pine's two legs began to foster kittens he needed Jakes help fitting into a more fatherly figure role due to..well, you know. Jake happily agrees to help Pine watch the kittens and they're able to raise several until Pines housefolk fall in love with the she-kit named Fish Sticks and keep her permanently. Even though his twolegs don't foster anymore kittens after Fish Sticks (out of fear they will not be able to resist more cats) The cats couldn't be more content with each other. Fish Stick has a good relationship with both of her dads and even some of her half-siblings (the ones she's met, anyway) Firestar has probably encountered her at least once as a kitten and overall she lives out a long, comfortable life in the twolegplace. Although she never joined the clans, she does believe in Starclan and hopes that one day she'll be able to find Pinestar there. (And she does, she breaks into Starclan on a technicality and no one knows what to do with her its hilarious.)
Flarestreak is the only child between Tallstar and Jake (Reena was a surrogate) in a universe where Jake very briefly joins Windclan before Tallstar realizes Jake is sacrificing his own happiness to be with him in the clan. After a long and painful discussion, Tallstar and Jake separate and he tells the clan that Jake had passed away in order to protect his partners integrity as well as the reputation of their future kit. When Flarekit is born, she is raised within the clan first until she's old enough to decide if she wants to live as a clan cat, kitty pet, or even travel as a rogue with Reena if that's what she prefers. Flarekit decides to stay with Tallstar and though it is bittersweet, Tallstar cannot help be relieved that his kit chose clan life with him. She grows up into a fine warrior, arguably the fastest cat in both the forest and lake territories. Throughout her life, she tries to hold onto her fathers virtues in spite of it all, her fire for life never extinguished no matter how impossible the odds (I'd imagine her and Onestar have a..complicated relationship) She doesn't retire to the elders den until the later half of the broken code and is probably still kicking by the time a starless clan ends. Despite what you may think, she looks great for her age as an elder, and probably invents warriors yoga classes or something like that to keep herself spry. Everyone jokes that she refuses to die until the day Windclan doesn't need her help anymore, which likely isn't anytime soon.

Healer Ravenpaw (Part 3)
Ravenpaw tells Fireheart, Graystripe, Yellowfang and Cinderpaw as much information about Redtail's murder as possible
Graystripe reveals he may have a way to get details of Oakheart's death from some RiverClan cats which makes Fireheart nervous but neither of them share details
Later on, Fireheart and Graystripe take Ravenpaw aside and tell him about Graystripe's secret girlfriend Silverstream
Fireheart gets information that confirms that Oakheart was killed by falling rocks before Redtail was killed and RiverClan was under the assumption that Redtail had died from his wounds after the battle
Fireheart presents this information to Bluestar but is again rejected and sent away
Thornpaw and Brightpaw are made apprentices and Cinderpaw feels guilty for feeling jealous that they might become warriors before her
Ravenpaw points out that Cinderpaw has proven herself quite useful to him and Yellowfang and he offers to mentor her once he gets his full name at the next half moon gathering(Cinderpaw is excited at the prospect of being useful again)
Ravenpaw gets his full name Ravenwhisper(in honor of his soft spoken voice and selective mutism)
Ravenwhisper has a long discussion to make sure Cinderpaw actually would want to become a healer as he refuses to train her if she felt forced to accept
Cinderpaw remains steadfast in her choice to become a healer so Ravenwhisper accepts her as his apprentice
Cloudkit causes problems in the background
Goldenflower reveals she's pregnant which concerns Ravenwhisper a bit as Bluestar makes Tigerclaw the temporary deputy while Goldenflower moves into the nursery
The river floods and soon afterwards Fireheart and Graystripe are caught feeding RiverClan and get punished(Cinderpaw finds this hilarious)
Fireheart reveals that Silverstream is expecting Graystripe's kits
Tigerclaw almost drowns Fireheart before Longtail saves him and Ravenwhisper frets over Fireheart to make sure he isn't hurt
Ravenwhisper reveals that Sandstorm has a crush on Fireheart and encourages him to pursue her because Fireheart reveals he kind of likes her back
Yellowfang is sad and reveals that the healers' code against taking a mate causes far more heartbreak than is necessary
ShadowClan exposes ThunderClan for harboring Brokenstar which causes some problems and ThunderClan wants to get rid of Brokentail but Bluestar refuses to throw him out
ShadowClan and WindClan both attack ThunderClan and leave pretty much everyone injured except Graystripe who gets called out for always being away from camp
Brackenfur is made a warrior for warning the clan of the coming enemy
Silverstream has her kits and almost dies, having to be brought to ThunderClan camp to recover while Goldenflower takes care of her kits alongside her own who'd been born the day before
(Small note: Silverstream living in this AU is not because Raven-whisper is better trained than Cinderpelt was at this point in the books. Silverstream lives so Graystripe stays in RiverClan and also her living is more interesting than her dying.)
Tigerclaw brings rogues to camp and tries to kill Bluestar but is stopped by Fireheart who reveals Tigerclaw's crimes and murder of Redtail to the whole clan
Tigerclaw is exiled and every cat he tries to invite into exile with him turns him down
Tigerclaw threatens Fireheart and Ravenwhisper before he leaves, stating he should have killed them both when they were still apprentices
Yellowfang kills Brokentail so he doesn't cause anymore problems and Ravenwhisper receives an omen about Bluestar's leadership rotting away
Graystripe decides to join RiverClan to live with Silverstream and their kits because if he's going to be hated no matter where he goes, he'll at least live with his mate and kits
Ravenwhisper and Fireheart share a small moment of relief that Tigerclaw is gone but knowing that their problems are far from over
Fireheart once again vows to protect Ravenwhisper and Ravenwhisper promises to do the same to the best of his abilities

The Sisters/Kin // br
In canon, the sisters are a group of nomadic female cats from Squirrelflight's Horrible Writing. They drive out the toms at six moons old, and can summon ghosts.
In canon, the Kin, created by Darktail, was a group of rouges and former Clan cats in one large group. They were very violent and drove RiverClan from its territory and disbanded ShadowClan.
In br, the kin and the Sisters have been combined into one. The fusion of sisters-and-kin is going to be called the Kin.
Around the same time as DotC, a group of kittypets started seeing strange ghosts haunting their homes. They left their kittypet dwellings and began to wander, taking on more members. They named themselves the Kin, as they were all very much like a family.
There is no driving out of male kits. All cats born into the kin are welcome to stay or leave at any time.
The original kittypets who began seeing ghosts have the special ability to see them. Any cat no matter what clan can summon a ghost using the right ritual.
Cats descended from those with ghost-sight still have to perform a ritual to be able to interact with a ghost. I will make a post on rituals later :)
The sisters, over the course of the series, moved all over. They wandered around the old forest up until Fire and Ice, and then began to move on. During this time they ran into WindClan, a raggedy bunch of starving Clan cats. They didn't want to interact with these cats because they didn't wish to fight and the WindClan members looked too weak to do anything.
Onewhisker discovered one of the sisters (her name was Smoke, and her mother was a kittypet. how crazy is that) and fell in love with her almost immediately. Smoke also fell in love with the tom. They continued meeting at a specific spot, watching the world go by.
Smoke became pregnant with Onewhisker's kits, and eagerly told him on their next meeting. Onewhisker was shocked. He had come to say that WindClan was leaving soon, as two ThunderClan cats had arrived to take them back.
Smoke was horrified. Some random tom shows up, captures her heart, gets her pregnant, and then just waltzes off? Was their love all for nothing? Was there really any love in the first place?
Onewhisker apologized, explaining he had to stay with WindClan. WindClan was his home, his clanmates were his kin...
At the word 'kin,' Smoke snaps. She snaps at Onewhisker, saying he has no idea of what kin means. Smoke is so enraged and hurt she can't think straight and runs home to find her kin. Onewhisker just leaves. He feels terrible. What started as a lovely little romance ended as a fight. He wants to forget all this and his own stupidity. Onewhisker leaves with WindClan, and doesn't think of his affair with Smoke ever again.
Smoke went back to her kin and told her mother the entire story. Her mother is going to be a former kittypet named Glory who joined the Kin as they journey by the Twolegplace.
After a while, Smoke calms down. She's still furious at her mate, but also sad. She genuinely loved Onewhisker. He was her first love, and he broke her heart.
Smoke gives birth to a litter of three, two of them being born dead. She names the survivor Darktail, after his black tail. She doesn't tell her mother, but she also named him in the style of Clan names.
Darktail is a lively and energetic kit. He loves to wander with his Kin, travelling all around the land and back again. By the time Darktail is six moons old, he's learned from his Grandma Glory and his mother about his father. Smoke speaks of him very scarcely and when she does she either sounds mournful or hateful. Glory speaks of Onewhisker and generally all Clan cats with hate. Darktail, in need of an imaginary evil to play with, begins to view Clan cats as evil.
Smoke and her mother die in an epidemic of some sickness alongside half of the Kin. Darktail feels lost. His family in the Kin are dead, his world is no longer the hopeful place it once was. He leaves the kin, searching for the Clans. He wants vengeance, he wants blood.
Darktail still takes over SkyClan with his rouge buddies. He doesn't really know which Clan his father is from, but he knows what Onewhisker looks like. According to his mother he's a muscular tabby with near-golden fur and amber eyes. After butchering SkyClan, Darktail is met by Alderpaw & Company! He learns about WindClan and the Clan leaders- oopsie, did they say Onestar? How interesting...
Darktail leads his rouges to the lake-clans, and ShadowClan falls, WindClan loses its mind, and RiverClan is kicked out. Darktail's kin is meant to be like his birthplace, but obviously different. Darktail still dies in a death grip with his father, but rather than Onestar being heroic and noble he is just dragged by Darktail into the water. Onestar sucks and he knows it.
The real kin, after hearing word from fleeing cats of the Clans, halt in their tracks and panic. They can't go forward if there's war! But they have to go explore the new territory! The decision is hard, but after more news is spread of the bad kin's defeat, they move on. The Kin don't know Darktail started it, and just assume some bloodthirsty maniac did.
Tree/Earth is born around this time. He was the son and only child of Moonlight and felt very proud of this. He was well spoiled and given waaaaaay to much attention. When his mother had another litter he felt as if he was being replaced and resolved to run away. After a few days of living alone, he was doubting his choice. Suddenly the spirit of a mysterious she-cat showed up and began guiding him to the Clans.
Tree followed the spirit to the lake, where they were struggling and lots of drama happened. The Kin also came to the lake at the same time, and the events of The Broken Code and Squirrelflight's Hope happened.
The kin are tired of dealing with Clan shenanigans, and they are now wandering past the lake to the mountains.

Dark Forest Resident: Talonpaw
Tumblr media
Aliases / Nicknames: Little Light, Precious son, Darling Dear
Gender: tom
Sexuality: homosexual
Family: Sorrelhare (mother), Greystrike (father), Ferretkit (brother)
Other Relations: unnamed mentor
Clan: WindClan
Rank: apprentice
Characteristics: has trouble identifying and controlling his emotions, impulsive
Murder Motive: wanting to be seen for who he really was
Number of Victims: 2
Number of Murders: 1
Murder Method: neglecting help, pushing over a cliff
Known Victims: Greystrike, Sorrelhare
Victim Profile: his parents, cats that don't love him
Cause of Death: killed by a fox
Cautionary Tale: ??
Story:
Talonscar knew from a young age that he was unloved.
He knew it as soon as was old enough to understand why his father left to patrol so often, why his mother looked to him like he was her whole world.
That sounds strange, doesn't it? If he was unloved, why would his mother look at him like he's her everything?
Because it's a lie.
Before Talonkit came Ferretkit, his brother who died of sickness before Talonkit was born. The two looked so much alike--they were blood, after all. That similarity warmed Sorrelhare's heart. She felt like her dead son was back again.
It wasn't Talonkit she saw. It was never him. Only Ferretkit.
Greystrike saw the similarity too, which is why it pained him so much to see his new son, and why he avoided the nursery as much as he possibly could.
All they ever saw in him was what he wasn't--a dead kit he never even met.
It's hard to feel love when no one really felt it towards you.
Talonkit spent more than a few attempts trying to get the attention of his father, trying to impress him with how he caught mossballs or was the fastest to find everyone in hide-and-seek.
But Greystrike's smile--when it was offered at all--would be weak and quick to fade.
With his mother, Talonkit tried so hard to be scolded. He would hurt other kits, try to sneak out, tear up his nest. He wanted Sorrelhare to see him for who he was, not this perfect thing she was pretending him to be to make her feel better.
It never worked. Nothing ever worked.
Talonpaw was empty. How can you feel, how can you be at all, when all you're ever meant to be is someone who is dead. What does his emotions matter? What do his actions matter?
Of course the first time Greystrike bothered to talk to his son in three moons was when he needed help. They were patrolling together--Greystrike spewing some nonsense about how it was time they tried to bond.
Heartless excuse for a father should have tried that while Talonpaw was still in the nursery! For seven moons, he acted like Talonpaw was poison, and now he expected that all to be forgiven and forgotten?
But before Talonpaw could snap, a snake did the job for him. Greystrike had writhed on the ground, begging his son to go get help.
Talonpaw, frozen, could do nothing but stand and stare. His father's eyes widened at his inaction, but still Talonpaw only stood until at last his father's movements stilled to a complete stop.
As Talonpaw returned to camp without a word and curled up in his nest, his shock thawed to a dark glee.
At last Greystrike saw Talonpaw for who he really was.
It was about time his mother saw him too, wasn't it?
It wasn't hard to get her to follow him out of camp for a nice mother-son stroll. She would do anything to spend time with her Ferretkit. When they climbed up the rocky plateau and he told her to look at the view below, she did just that--and shrieked when suddenly there was no rocks beneath her at all.
If it had been any other day, he would have returned back to camp, trained for more moons, earned his warrior name, and moved on with a life that was now freely and completely his.
But not this day, because this day a fox had made its home on the moors.
Additional Information:
--Talonpaw CAN feel emotions, but due to it not mattering what he felt or did for the longest time, he has trouble identifying what emotions he's feeling and how he can control them, which leads him to being impulsive a lot.
--This wasn't just want he thought! Greystrike DID ignore him because all he saw was Ferretkit, and Sorrelhare DID only see her other son in him.
--I'm pretty sure this was inspired by another story? But for the life of me I cannot find it, and it's been forever since I've seen it so I'm not even sure if it's actually based on anything. So if you find a story that seems similar, let me know so I can check! maybe it'll jog my memory lol.

alright now here's an odd hypokit ask for you... firestar x blackstar x mistystar x onestar hypokits :o yes all four of them together... i like the idea of them all being parallels to each other and am toying with an au where they're all the same age and protags/POVs in TPB... so I was just curious to see what you'd come up with LMAOOOOO :p
Warriors Ship Hypokits: FireBlackMistyOne Edition
This is incredibly interesting. Hopefully I can do this idea some justice. The AU part of this post is gonna be LONG because of all the plot changes this causes lol
In this AU, when Rusty joins the Clans he meets and befriends a couple of cats from other Clans as well as Graypaw and Ravenpaw: Mistypaw and Stonepaw of RiverClan, who feel strangely out of place in their Clan, and Blackpaw of ShadowClan, who is doubting his mentor Brokenstar's rightful place as ShadowClan Leader and suspects him of killing his nephew Badgerkit (Fernshade is his older sister here). They all go on adventures together and help overthrow Brokenstar with Blackpaw's help, while helping solve Redtail's death in ThunderClan and trying to find out who Mistypaw and Stonepaw's unknown parent is. They all earn their warrior names around the same time. Onewhisker of WindClan is also added to the friend group when Fireheart, Graystripe, Blackfoot, Stonefur, and Mistycloud are sent to bring WindClan home. When Graystripe moves to RiverClan after Silverstream's death delivering his kits, Graypool pulls Mistycloud and Stonecfur aside and reveals the true identity of their mother: Bluestar of ThunderClan. This news causes Mistycloud and Stonefur to approach Bluestar at a Gathering to discuss things, however it doesn't go well because of Bluestar's worsening mental state and she attacks them. They do reconcile by the time of her death by dog still. While all this drama happens, they all become Leaders of their respective Clans (minus Onewhisker- Tallstar's still kickin', and Stonefur of course) (when Tigerclaw shows up and tries to take over ShadowClan, Blackstar straight up kills him). As time goes by, Onestar becomes Leader of WindClan and they all realize that they've fallen in love. Panic really sets in as Mistystar realizes that she's pregnant and expecting kits, with them being the fathers. While all of them want to keep the kits (and become mates with each other) they agree to give them up and let them be raised as kittypets far away from the Clans in the Clans’ and kits’ best interests. Although they all often wish that they had kept the kits and become mates...
Their four kits are:
Darktail- muscular dark bluish-gray and white tom with amber eyes and a long tail. Cis tom, bisexual. You know who this guy is. He was named Darby by his housefolk. However, they were abusive to him so he left and became a rogue. While he was originally ignorant of his true parentage, once it was revealed to him he was outraged. He could have grown up happy with a family, but his parents chose to separate him and his siblings and give him to abusive humans! He vowed to destroy his parents and the precious clans they held so dear, no matter the cost... He was eventually killed in battle by his one surviving parent, his father Onestar. If he had been raised with his parents, he would have chosen WindClan, still have gotten the name Darktail, and been a Tactician.
Anastasia- large beautiful chubby black molly with blue eyes. Cis molly, straight. Anastasia is a vain, aloof cat who wouldn't be caught dead outside or ever do something to get her paws dirty. Her housefolk are very rich and spoil her rotten, and she loves them dearly. She never finds out about her siblings or true parents and spends her entire life as a kittypet. She eventually died of old age. If she had been raised with her parents, she would have chosen RiverClan, been named Brightscale and been a Lake-Watcher.
Maplestar- dilute calico molly with yellow-green eyes. Cis molly, queer polyamorous. This universe's version of Leafstar. She was named Maple by her housefolk and became close with Billy and Echo once her humans moved by the gorge. She began having unusual dreams along with Echo and the two joined the newly-formed SkyClan along with Billy when Firestar and his friend Sandstorm came to set it up in the gorge. Firestar knew with just one look that this was one of Mistystar’s kits and eventually told her everything before he left. She thought well of her father and thought of him and the other three that she’d never met often. Like in canon, she becomes SkyClan’s Leader. Her warrior name before she became Leader was Mapleleaf. She dies peacefully in her sleep. If she had been raised with her parents, she would have chosen ThunderClan, been named Leafheart, and been a Hunter and eventually Leader.
Blister- scarred dark ginger molly with one missing eye and blue-green eyes. She was named Betty by her housefolk, but left at a young age in search of adventure. She found the excitement she was looking for in joining BloodClan. She took on the name of Blister and became one of the best fighters around. She was ambitious but peace-minded, wanting to become Leader to change BloodClan and make it more stable and a place of safety. She eventually becomes the Leader of BloodClan and slowly changes it to be a more peaceful group. Like Anastasia, she never finds out about her true parentage. She dies after passing the torch to a new Leader, happy with her life. If she had been raised with her parents, she would have chosen ShadowClan, been named Flameclaw, and been a Warden and eventually Leader.

one of the big things about the early parts of the river flows in us is just the theme of being haunted. not in the sense that a dead person's literally incapable of leaving you the fuck alone, but in the sense that someone else's legacy is forever weighing you down. in the sense that you'll always be in someone else's shadow because no one else can move on from the past.
that's why starclan chooses the cats it does to go on the journey. three cats haunted by the sins of their father and one haunted by his heroism. hawkfrost, bramblefang, tawnynight, and crowpaw.
other cats end up tagging along, as fate has funny ways of working. the first cat that ends up joining the prophecy squad is mothwing. no one can really argue with a medicine cat joining when they have no idea how far they'll end up going. (and mothwing may as well be one of the prophecy cats with how much hawkfrost confided in her about it)
next is squirrelpaw, who everyone begrudgingly accepts because otherwise she'll snitch to firestar and that's the last thing anyone wants. really, squirrelpaw gets caught early because you can't sneak up on a shadowclan cat that easily.
...the third extra is wetfoot, who was slowly tailing the prophecy cats and ended up accidentally getting caught by hawkfrost and forced to come along. he was stalking tawnynight bc how can a former thunderclan cat -- tigerstar's daughter -- truly ever be loyal to shadowclan?
now that the cats have been travelling for a while, it's reasonably safe for them to assume that they won't run into anymore clan cats. and technically, they're right.
instead, they find cats that left their clans many moons ago. after a bit of walking and finding many sheep, they come across thrushwing, a young warrior when brokenstar chased windclan from their home, a cat who got separated from her clan while they were fleeing. naturally, thrushwing joins the "save the clans... somehow" mission.
in the city is when they find a really interesting cat. a cat that's been traveling with purdy for a while now, a cat who panics at the sight of bramblefang. a cat who rambles and begs tigerstar for his life. this is reedpaw, one of mistyfoot's kits who was believed to be killed many moons ago.
i think this is where hawk and moth break their promise to sasha and reveal who their father is. they've been travelling with these other cats for so long -- two of them even being their half-siblings -- that it shouldn't matter. and it doesn't.
even reedpaw, who needed to be brought down from a panic attack, doesn't find it that important. not when he's aware that tigerstar's dead and can't come after him anymore.
every cat in this group is haunted by something. hawk, moth, tawny, and bramble are haunted by their father's crimes against the clans. squirrelpaw and crowpaw are haunted by their fathers' legacy in his respective clan. wetfoot is haunted by the memories of serving under two tyrants, of wondering if he'd die of sickness or starvation.
thrushwing is haunted by her choice to give up looking for her clan so easily, when they were starving, by living a carefree life when her clan could have all been dead. and reedpaw is haunted by the memory of his littermates, dead by tigerstar's orders, by the memory of his mother starving in her own clan because their leader blamed her for her parents' mistakes.

Journey of Oak and Red || Chapter 1 || Warriors AU
Tumblr media
AU Prompt: Oakheart and Redtail survive the Battle for Sunningrocks, and leave the forest territories for a life out of Tigerclaw's threats.
Characters: Oakheart, Redtail, Tigerclaw, Dustpaw(pelt), Stonefur and Mistyfoot (not mentioned by name)
Warning: Loose description of battle,
Author's Note: I have planned out the clans Oakheart and Redtail will meet, so you'll start meeting one of them next chapter!! (and somewhat this chapter)
Timeframe: The two chapters of Into The Wild after Redtail's body is returned to camp (which doesn't happen in this AU), as this chapter is over the span of a moon since the battle.
°°°
"After Sunningrocks, you leave. You get a quarter moon before I start hunting you down." Tigerclaw hissed. "If you ever come back, I'll kill you."
The brown tabby's words flooded his mind, as Redtail crouched in the riverbank. He could see the pine forest from where he was, displaying the other side of ThunderClan's territory.
A few fox-lengths away, a twoleg nest stood towering. Perhaps he could just live there. No cat would be the wiser, nor would Tigerclaw ever consider Redtail becoming a kittypet.
Coughing caught the tortoiseshell tom's attention, and he crawled closer. "Oakheart," he called quietly.
"What in StarClan's name-" The soaking, brown tom rasped as he sat up and looked around. "Where are we?"
Redtail stood, his ears twitching. "Far enough; for now. Let's get going before any cat sees us, or a twoleg grabs us."
"Where?" Oakheart jumped up to follow, looking over his shoulder. "Redtail, the clans are that way."
"I know."
"And we're walking towards the old twoleg barn."
"I know that."
"So we're walking away from the clans."
"I know that too."
Oakheart stopped with a huff. "Redtail. Where are you going? If you're leaving ThunderClan, I won't stop you or tell any cat."
"You're coming with me, so you definitely won't."
"You're going to kidnap me?"
"No-" Redtail groaned, turning around to face Oakheart. "You ask a lot of questions for a grown cat. We're leaving the forest. Tigerclaw wants to be deputy, and he'll stop at nothing."
"So, you're just going to let him be deputy? And what's this got to do with me?"
Redtail frowned. He had a point. None of this really had to do with Oakheart at all. The deal was only meant for Redtail to leave, not any other cat. But he was here now, and his clan has probably assumed him dead by now. "If he's willing to threaten his own deputy, I wouldn't put it past him to threaten another clan's deputy."
"I have kits back in RiverClan, I can't just leave them." Oakheart reasoned, running to catch up as Redtail started to walk away again. "They're my kits."
"I didn't peg you to be a father to young kits."
"I'm not," Oakheart corrected. "They're warriors, and at the battle for Sunningrocks."
Redtail looked over his shoulder. "Well then, they will be fine and they will already assume you've drowned."
"If Tigerclaw is a threat to you, then isn't he a threat to Bluestar?"
No response.
Muttering under his breath, Oakheart followed the tortoiseshell tom along the beaten path. His hackles rose as a black and white tom.emergwd from the barn. "Who are you?"
"This is Barley," Redtail answered, turning back to the barn cat. "Hey, Barney. What brings you out so early?"
"I heard voices and decided I'd come see who it is. I knew I recognised your voice, Redtail." The tom purred, before gesturing a nod at Oakheart. "Who's this you've brought with you? He doesn't smell like any ThunderClan cat I've seen around here. Or a WindClan cat for that matter."
The tortoiseshell threw a nod over his shoulder, "that's Oakheart. He is- was RiverClan's deputy." He lifted his head, his chest puffing slightly. Maybe if he acted tough with Barley, Oakheart would trust his plan to runaway. "We were just leaving."
"Where you goin'?"
He gulped. If Tigerclaw heard from Barley that he'd left, Redtail wouldn't be hunted. On the other paw, if Barley told Bluestar, she'd look for him herself. Or send someone who could. "We don't know, but you can't tell anyone you saw us."
"Why?"
"Tigerclaw threatened to kill Redtail for deputy, and he might come after me," Oakheart explained, earning a glare from Redtail.
I should've left him to drown. The tom shook his head and turned back to Barley. "No cat can know. Not even WindClan, or Bluestar."
"If he's a threat to you, then wouldn't he be a threat to Bluestar?" Barley frowned, the plump tom sitting in the leaves at his paws.
Oakheart piped in, "that's what I said."
"StarClan wouldn't allow it. They hadn't done anything to prevent Tigerclaw from threatening me, so it's a sign that I have to leave."
Redtail didn't hear another word for Oakheart as they said their goodbye to Barley and headed further from the forest territories. It wasn't until dawn the next day that Oakheart would say something. "Are you upset with me? That I took you from your clan?"
"Technically, you didn't take me. That would be catnapping. And no."
"Then, why have you been so quiet?" Redtail pushed, looking over his shoulder at the larger tom.
The brown tabby sighed. "I'm tired- exhausted, even. I'm sure Tigerclaw won't be looking for us this far from the forest. We're that far you can't even see it. You can barely see the mountains we crossed. We've probably been walking for half a moon, maybe a whole moon."
The tortoiseshell stared at him for a moment. "Yeah, sure. This old twoleg nest looks comfortable enough," Redtail hummed, looking through a hole in the wall of the old building. He listened for Twolegs, and when he heard nothing but a light breeze and mice scurrying across wood, Redtail crawled into the building and shook himself. "Nothing here but cobwebs and mice."
Oakheart purred in content, "a warm meal ready for us to catch. Lovely."
"Let's patch these wounds first," Redtail murmured, retrieving the few herbs he could find and bound them on or around his wounds. Once he was finished with his own, the tortoiseshell gestured for Oakheart to come towards him. "Spottedleaf taught me how to treat wounds in case we were too far from camp to get to her in time."
Oakheart chuckled, "smart."
"You know, I never had kits..." Redtail started, crouching as he stared at an oblivious mouse. "My apprentice was the closest I've ever had to a kit. Dustpaw, well, he was strong but stubborn."
Oakheart snorted, "sounds just like you."
"Oh, okay, mouse-brain."
The RiverClan tom laughed. "My kits are the strongest warriors RiverClan has ever seen."
"Probably because their father has such a big head."
"Ha ha. Very funny, Redtail." He stared off for a moment, watching the tortoiseshell catch mice around the nest. "They were the happiest kits, I swear on StarClan... probably got it from Bluestar."
Redtail frowned, dropping a couple of mice at Oakheart's paws before sitting to eat his share of the kill. "Why Bluestar? Are you related to her in some way?"
"My kits are hers." Oakheart whispered, deciding to silence himself to eat. His ear twitched in Redtail's direction, but the tom didn't say a word.
He couldn't say anything, he didn't know what to say. Bluestar's kits had gone missing or died right before Sunstar named her his deputy. They couldn't have- unless Bluestar took them to Oakheart. Mosskit was the only one of her litter ThunderClan recovered; the other two had never been found, and were presumed to have been eaten by the foxes found a day later.
"I'm going to sleep," Redtail murmured, tucking his nose under his paws. He could talk to Oakheart about it tomorrow. For now, he was as exhausted as Oakheart had said he was and Redtail knew he needed sleep. They both did.
°°°
Smelling the scent of unfamiliarity, Redtail dared to open his eyes and search the area he could see without moving his head. Pawsteps echoed through the old twoleg nest.
"What herbs do we need to get?"
"Panthereye said she needs borage leaves and burnet for Wheateyes." Another voice answered, and a speckled apprentice couched down near Oakheart's sleeping body to grasp at a bundle of green leaves with his mouth. He looked up at Oakheart, then stared at Redtail.
Another voice hissed, "why do we have to come though? Can't you get it yourself, Mousepaw?"
"You heard Brushstorm, it's too dangerous with the scent of rogues on LionClan's border." The first voice murmured.
"As if it's still safe to send two warrior apprentices with a doctor's apprentice. Mousepaw doesn't even know how to defend himself."
"That's why we're here, Newtpaw."
Mousepaw gulped, staring Redtail in the eyes. "Firepaw, Newtpaw...I think I found them."
"What, the herbs?" Newtpaw's voice hissed. "Finally, I'm hungry."
Firepaw's voice grumbled, "you're always hungry. Come on, Mousepaw. I don't like the feel I'm getting from this place. It's making my fur stand up."
"Not herbs - the rogues."
"What?" A ginger point apprentice-sized tom appeared from behind a large box. "Newtpaw-"
"Who are you?"

kit tales/fables im applying to the warriors universe because i want to
The clans have been around for generations and generations, but how did they get there? How are Riverclan cats such great swimmers? How do Shadowclan cats hunt during pitch dark nights? Well, before the clans became clans, cats lived in a single group...
Thunderclan- ...In a forest. Until dark clouds brought along a lightning storm and struck those who couldn't run to safety in time. The cats who lived on became Thunderclan's ancestors.
Riverclan- ...In a valley. Until it started raining. Day after day, rain poured into the valley where the cats lived. Some cats drowned as the rainwater rose, but others were able to keep themselves afloat and swim towards the surface. Those cats are now ancestors to the current Riverclan cats.
Shadowclan- ...On a plain of marshland. Until total darkness casted on the land below. Cats who couldn't navigate through the new darkness, lost themselves in the territory they once were so knowledgeable of. Those who could trek through the change are considered the ancestors of Shadowclan.
Windclan- ...On the moors. Until giant gusts of winds blew across the moors, blowing away those who weren't strong enough to withstand the gusts. The remaining cats lived to form Windclan.
What about the Tunnelers? Well, some cats enjoyed living on the moors and the feeling of not being confined by the trees but since they couldn't handle the wind, they dug and lived down below, catching the rabbits that homed underground. When the cats who lived on top of the moors saw the giant holes, they decided to investigate, hoping the diggers to be giant rabbits. When they discovered there were cats in those tunnels, they allowed them to live among them. As they did, the taught each other how to travel among the moors and underneath.
Skyclan- In a forest. Cats lived without any problems, or so they thought. There was no more prey among the forest floors since they had hunted it all. The cats who could climb the trees and hunt among the branches with ease became what Skyclan is today.
*
What's the story of the Moonstone you ask? Love to tell you. This story changes among the clans, some cats tell the story of a Mother and Son, of two friends, or a story of two mates. It doesn't really matter what sort of relationship the cats have, they just have to be close cats. The story goes like this, two cats were close with one another, one of the cats would often share about her love for the moon; she considered it to be the most beautiful thing in the sky and when she passed, she hoped to rest upon it. Much to the other cat's dismay, the day came when his companion took her last breathe. He missed her very much, day by day he grieved for her, until he planned to find her. He was going to climb the moon to talk to her again. He set out at night, heading towards the direction the moon hung in the sky. He walked and walked, but became tired, knowing he had to rest soon, he settled in the dark cave that laid in front of him. The cave's roof had a giant hole in the center and he could see the moon through it. When the cat had laid down, the clouds that covered the moon moved away and the light shone down, reflecting on the shiny stone that was once invisible to the tom. Once the tom's eyes adjusted to the blinding light, he couldn't believe what he saw. Upon the stone sat the cat he missed dearly. The two were reunited at last.
*
How come there are birds that hunt cats? Prey offers an end to your hunger, but the feathers from birds can be used to make your nest more comfortable or can be used as entertainment. When those two other uses were discovered, it's said cats would hunt without eating the prey, just taking the feathers to sleep on or play with and that was seen as disrespectful to the birds. Birds were angry at the cats that their kin were being hunted for fun. In order to protect the younger birds, bigger birds came down and took the cats to feed to their young, a way to teach them a lesson to not hunt for selfish reason. So now cats are forbidden to hunt birds for their feathers. "Bird warriors" are also off limits.

Why did bluestar give away her kits if she knew they were the solution (so to speak)? If she knows Thistleclaw is gonna be a tyrant via prophecy why doesn't she speak up? Is Goosefeather still plagued by The Visions? I mean iirc Goosefeather could see the future by touching someone, why didn't Thunderclan see this as a huge bonus?
Why did Bonefall Bluestar give up her kits if they were destined to defeat Thistleclaw all along?
Because they are her children, and she is their mother.
Stand back as they grow up in a hardened Clan, accused of being halfclan? As Thistleclaw causes the people she loves to get torn into shreds in bloody battle disputes? How many bodies will she bury before Mosslight prevails?
Mosslight is the hero of destiny, but what of her other two children? Will they die before seeing Thistleclaw dethroned? She looks to the future and imagines what the Clan will look like by the time it's saved, and no matter what she envisions... it's not the ThunderClan she loves.
For Rosetail and Thrushpelt who deserve long and peaceful lives, for her Forget-me-Nots in the Clans who would find war waged against them, for her children threatened to suffer for the sake of some ridiculous prophecy, she would pull the moon from the night sky so Thistlestar can't reach the sun.
If she knows Thistleclaw is gonna be a tyrant via prophecy why doesn't she speak up?
Goosefeather is committed to carrying out his visions to the letter. His own sister Moonflower was fated to die in a raid, and he obeyed. He knew from the offset that the WindClan raid was pointless and commanded it anyway.
So how would Bluestar even go about that? Goosefeather wants Thistlestar. She's lucky she's Sunstar's apprentice, and she's even luckier that she's Tawnyspot's son's best friend. How would it look if she started raving that Thistleclaw would be a tyrant, like a lunatic?
She has to be careful, and she can't sound the alarm because there isn't one.
Is Goosefeather still plagued by The Visions?
Yes, but he is dedicated to them. Like an elephant calf with a stake in the ground, Goosefeather learned his lesson about defying fate during the Great Hunger. He firmly believes it only causes more heartache and pain.
The truth about these visions that they aren't always commands. They're just glimpses into the predetermined future. StarClan doesn't necessarily want these things to pass, they just... do.
After Mosskit dies in the snow and Bluestar assumes power, the thread of fate is so shredded that the visions halt. What was a powerful river is now a delta of branching choices, a thousand paths and Goosefeather can never again tell where they will flow.
...This is upsetting, to him. He spent his whole life carrying out visions of the future, got his sister killed, dedicated himself to putting a tyrant into power, and Bluestar broke it. Just, casually shattered it. After everything. After every pain he'd been through.
What was an inevitability to him was a choice for her. That is extremely painful. I don't think he really recovers from it, dying shortly after.
The last appearance I have planned for him is by voting to save Bluestar during her StarClan trial, one of the few that are committed to this. It offers a glimpse of hope that people's minds can change, even though her odds don't look good in the beginning.
(this trail ends up going so well for Bluestar that Thistleclaw and many of his supporters leave heaven in anger.)

@foxstride tell me about fox/jay >.>
YES! My actually rare pair.
It came up when me and @mallowstep were discussing gay options for Jay because he sees no chemistry in Kestreljay (the fool that he is), and I think this is the best possible gay pairing for him if we're discounting the WindClan boy.
So, what I find most appealing about it is the contrast personality wise. Foxleap is the kind of energetic, endearing goofball that would worm his way into Jayfeather's heart and help him come out of his shell. I also imagine shades of "stop getting yourself hurt all the time dumbass" as Jay nurses him back to health.
While secret gay medicine cat romance is nice, I actually think it works better with warrior apprentice Jay AUs, actually. I can see them developing a sort of friendly rivalry and improving together from it. Jaypaw may grumble initially because his insecurities would make him reluctant to call a younger apprentice his rival, but over time they grow fond of each other.
I also don't know where I picked this up from, but I like the idea that Foxleap really looks up to her mom and that when he was younger he wanted to one day be a nursery queen but was really disappointed to find out he couldn't get pregnant so.
Picture this: a warrior Jay AU with Fox/Jay and Cinder/Holly. Cinder and Holly ask Jay to be their surrogate father (why not Lionblaze? maybe he and Cinder didn't work out and it'd be awkward to ask him, but it doesn't really matter) and Jay agrees on the condition that they split the litter and let Foxleap be a nursery queen. When Cinder gives birth to a litter of four, they honor the agreement and let him have his pick of two kits.
I tend to think of Jay as someone who wouldn't like. He wouldn't think he'd like kids but when he gets attached to them he's very good with children so. Dad Jayfeather being very cute with his kits and his husband teasing him about it.
(The kits of course all know they're full-blooded siblings and even if based on the split they get more attached to one set of parents over the other because the kits are all communally raised anyway I'd imagine they see all four as their parents.)

In canon, Willowbreeze and Greypool are the result of Wind's deputy, Reedfeather, having a fling with Fallowtail. This escalates to pretty intense hostilities over which Clan will get the kits, with Reed demanding them despite??? Them being born to Riverclan?? And Hailstar almost kills him when Rivers take the kits back.
How does this go down in the rewrite? The fuck happens to Reedfeather after starting a war over his illegal litter while deputy?
(I don't like this prick not one bit)
So yes, this did go down. Reedfeather had what was, by all means, a casual fling with Fallowtail that resulted in a pair of daughters--Willowbreeze and Greypool. Also like in canon, Fallowtail was initially heavily pressured into giving up her kits in what was a...debatably lawful debate done outside of a Gathering.
To begin with, this holds less weight simply because it's done outside of the peace treaty (ie with threats of violence), doesn't have the other clans present, and, in this particular case, Fallowtail was being kinda bombarded on both sides. To make matters worse, Hailstar was recovering from an illness and Windclan refused to delay, resulting in Echomist, his deputy at the time, trying to salvage the situation.
Over in Windclan, Heatherstar was fully supportive of Reedfeather wanting to take back his children, in no small part due to Reedfeather's own manipulation. When she was a fresh warrior, Heatherstar had a litter that didn't make it...a pair of daughters that she still felt for deeply. Reedfeather spun it to make her believe that this was Starclan's second chance for her. This obviously doesn't get Heatherstar completely off the hook, but it was definitely an underhanded tactic by Reedfeather.
At the meeting itself, this was the first time many of the River cats present had even heard about Fallowtail's relationship (she'd simply opted not to name a sire, as is her right) so the kneejerk reaction was anger. On top of that, Heatherstar was making threats, Reedfeather was being a manipulative ass, and Fallowtail felt overwhelmed. Echomist tried to fight for her rights, but desperate to get the heat off of her, Fallowtail gave up her kittens.
Naturally, once everything calmed down, Fallowtail was incredibly regretful. And once Hailstar heard about all this, he and Echomist were in agreement that the situation was not lawful. It was debatable if court would be in their favour, but once the clan had heard Fallowtail's side of the story, Hailstar was able to swing them back in her favour.
And possessing a bit of a petty streak, Hailstar decided he wasn't going to warn Windclan. He was just going to attack.
One thing led to another, Riverclan got the kittens back, and Windclan obviously took the matter to court thinking they had it in the bag. It was a close battle, but it was actually Hawkheart's account that swung Thunderclan and Shadowclan towards Riverclan: Heatherstar was too bold in her claims that Starclan wanted the kittens in Windclan, but there was no sign, and therefore no hard proof that the stars had dictated this, only speculation.
Reedfeather wasn't deputy for much longer after this.

Epilepsy Anon here, I was wondering if you would like information on what's going on in a person's head/body before/during/after.
That way you sort of have a bunch of information about epileptic seizures so you could pick what works with shadow kit and what doesn't.
(Also, what are your thoughts on cats using the very first leader's of each Clan's names? I always thought it was taboo and that's the reason why Shadowsight gets played, hurt, ect. Like it's not Starclan themselves who are doing it, but also it is. Like the who Starclan place is sort of alive, and it sometimes does things the spirits that reside there don't notice.)
if you're welling to do so, i would love that! don't feel like you have to tho <3
as for leader names:
i don't personally care. sky- is one of my favourite prefixes, which is cheating, but windflight was in bluestar's prophecy.
so canonically, i'm fine with it. as for my own headcanons...
i think it'd be taboo to name a cat the same as the clan, but when shadowkit was born, dovewing didn't intend to go to shadowclan, so i don't think the elders would make her change his name.
well, okay: it depends. the elders at that time were oakfur and ratscar, and elders in shadowclan are in charge of any renaming that needs to be done (for accepting loners, usually), and i can't see either of them feeling strongly about the matter.
windclan would never let a kit be named windkit within their borders, and i can see them having...unease with cats being named wind-, outside, but no control.
thunderclan similarly would never name a kit thunderkit, but they'd be okay with another clan using it.
riverclan would probably think it was funny if a cat was named riverkit. they'd be 100% okay with it. riverclan dgaf what you name a cat.
skyclan would 100% freely and willingly name a kit skykit. they'd be more upset about another clan naming a cat skykit, i think.
and shadowclan is...complicated. i think they would never name a kit shadowkit, but i don't think they'd generally mind accepting a kit named shadowkit. it depends on the elders: some might want to rename a shadowkit to shadekit.
it's also relevant that i ignore dotc for the clans' beliefs about their origins. so i don't: the first leader of riverclan is river, but that's...the literal river. the first real leader of riverclan is dawn, river's eldest daughter.
the other clans don't have as established origins, but they're not dotc stories. sorry. i hadn't read dotc when i was writing it. also dotc is a great arc, i adore it, but i kind of...don't want to be constrained by it? i want to be able to write my own folklore without worry about what grey wing and so forth were doing.
actually, that's a broader point: dotc is fantastic as an arc but a terrible warriors origin story. but that's off topic.
and in mml (meow meow language), i don't think there's a very good distinction between thunder (thunderclan) and thunder (weather) and so on.
like the word for river and the word for riverclan is the same. river (riverclan) is treated differently, grammatically, as it's a person (group of people), not a place, but it's the same root word.
so like, thunder is already a murky word.
but that's so deep into something that doesn't impact my decisions about cat names, i'm just rambling on because i didn't cut myself off.

is it bad that wanted more cats to die in the df battle? with thunderclan's (and other clans) incest problem a wanted about at least more than half of the cats in eachclan to kill of, killing off too apprentices or kits would also show how genocide the df cats are. then the cats could start taking in loners and kittypets and maybe teach clan cats the it doesn't matter where you came from also you be a loyal warrior like firestar
yeah me too, the cats were like “we have lost so many cats” and like YEAH they lost more cats than any other battle in the series but they all lost like
five cats at most, thunderclan only lost 5 cats in the battle, and i think shadowclan only lost like 4 maybe, i think windclan lost 5? and i think riverclan lost like 3 or 4
like yeah i guess 20 cats total is a lot but like thunderclan still had like 30 cats in their clan, i wish like brackenfur and thornclaw died too and bumblestripe and berrynose and spiderleg and dustpelt (and foxleap live because he deserved better)
