the magic system (or lack of one) in warriors is so funny. like the sisters have hereditary powers (except sometimes I guess rip to needleclaw's powers that she doesn't have) but then sol is just some guy who maybe has powers but maybe is just really persuasive and somehow knows about astronomy but then the three have powers that were given to defend starclan but starclan doesn't know where they came from either and also leafpool and squirrelflight are telepathic but only for like a month??

Yang and Ruby’s definition of love was based on each other as that’s the love they got

What would it do if your definition of love had no choice but to hurt you what would you do if you had no choice but to hurt them back

Yang could be the best older sister in the world that won’t give her a bigger age gap it won’t give her a parenting guide book it won’t make her tall enough to reach a medicine cabinet at 5 years old it won’t bring her mom back to life or give her a healthy framework to base how she treats Ruby she can only guess and even with all the best guesses it would still mess Ruby up

Ruby could be the most well behaved kid in the world that won’t make her any less of a toddler it won’t make her less hungry it won’t make her less confused it won’t make her ok after her mom died it won’t make her any less upset when her needs can’t possibly be met it won’t save Yang it won’t bring their childhoods back

They love each other so so so much they kept each other alive in a broken situation after the tragedies that befell their family but their was no other options it had to hurt

Today’s National Siblings Day and I’m celebrating with several drawings on this post!

Yangs coping mechanisms always left much to be desired even pre arm-getting-horrifically- chopped-off-without-any-anesthetic-or-doctors-or-anything-just-horrible-and-painful incident girl grew up with 4 caretakers that ALL failed/traumatized her in different ways and then also had to deal with MONSTERS THAT ARE ATTRACTED TO NEGATIVE EMOTIONS in a forest in the middle of nowhere that’s FULL OF THEM

Like I obviously think Ruby’s childhood is a little more interesting to go into because she had 4 and 1/2 failure of caretakers however the one that did the best was terrible not for lack of trying to be good but for the terrible crime of being a child and thinking about how that affects her is super cool and interesting also the canonical way she seems to feel about them is just super fun but yangs my favorite and sometimes yangs more straightforward obvious trauma is even more fun to think about

Like there’s no way having to bare at least all of the emotional responsibility for a toddler didn’t cause constant panic attacks for baby Yang she probably had so many anxiety disorders like I know people without nearly as much responsibility over their younger siblings pushed onto them who still have reoccurring nightmares about their younger siblings getting hurt on their watch and constantly having to desperately keep them alive me included

So yeah she definitely had many many breakdowns and just forced herself to push it back down again as soon as possible because 1 taking care of sibling and 2 MONSTERS WILL EAT HER AND EVERYONE SHE LOVES IF SHE KEEPS FEELING SAD STOP FEELING SAD AAAAAA

So yeah here’s Yang and Ruby throughout the ages
