What’s your favorite deck build and what are some common strats? I’m new to the game but am very interested in the competitive scene.

So right now the meta is leaning towards Engage guys. So if you're looking for the popular builds, things like Slumber Party, Spoops and other high Engage lil guys like Mandy Jam really just outpace a lot of the other builds with the value that brings them. I would recommend also throwing in some Bones guys for a little extra defense like Bruce or an econ guy like Yukon Cornelius for some ramp.

Personally though, I really like playing the off-meta builds. The engage meta has been (imo) a blight on the game this season. And while I fully 100% respect that Engage-Fun is the meta strategy, it's been overdone. Everybody and their dog is doing Engage. Media Literacy and Vegetable builds are super not-meta but they're also excellent at disrupting engines. And like, do I win more games than the average player? No, in fact I lose more. But I'm not playing just to win, I'm playing to have fun interactions with the other guy!

(I've found that a good way to get on the nerves of someone playing a meta build is to put a Carrot right in the middle of the field. Just be a gigantic nuisance to them)

(Also please for the love of god don't play Dopher. Nobody likes a killjoy)

oh, you're really underrating tux here. running boulder and mini pee wee jr gives you so many ways to achieve negative stats, which is so good with smug jug's confidence skill. copy those with tux, and you're set. sticking that with a little guyette + unit corn for earlygame gives you an easy time. not only that, but it's an actual use case for mini pee wee jr, so you can run wee and pee wee if you want the bonus there. i don't, giving up two more chances for skills limits your options too much, N/A does not make things easy. you can go ticker tocker as well, obvious reasons. thankfully for the game though, ticker still sucks. this strat works best if you ignore grease entirely, and we have no economy, making ticker practically useless.

negative stats are so underrated, i know why people don't use them but neg media is the only true hard counter to dopher.

Here's my level of aalsi - I am aalsi enough to not call the shopkeeper for AC remote in my new apartment (which is free) and even aalsi enough to not switch the ac off manually and somehow I even managed to break it's buttons the very first day. So it's either Rajasthan ki dopher garmi in my room or Shillong ki thandi raat since May.
