also, where I live we're getting snow again which. blegh. but my room being colder at night means my cat is willing to snuggle up with me under the sheets again!! my little baby grandma! She's between 14-16, the shelter wasn't sure how old she was when I adopted her about a decade ago.

dear whoever asked for the flower ask game post, the draft function ate my attempt at answering the ask so here they are:

I actually have a bunch of jewelry I almost never take off, some because of the piercing itself and others because I just don't feel like myself without it at this point. I have an anklet and wear rings on 4 fingers that I have on all the time, and then my cartilage and septum piercings stay in all the time too.

The rings are from a bunch of different places I've traveled to so they're sentimental, and the anklet is a bracelet that my grandmother gave me before she passed that didn't fit my wrist haha.

Hey I interact with Tumblr very sporadically so I don't know if it's something you talk about a lot, but I saw the post about some book called Worm, and that the phrase "Lesbian Space Atrocity" was involved, and I had to know more, what book is Worm?? 😅

So it's actually two separate things I talk about a lot lol.

'lesbian space atrocities' is the tongue-in-cheek name @dagny-hashtaggart came up with to describe a certain subgenre of, say, historically/sociologically informed genre fic full of terrible people (invariably including at least one lesbian) doing politics and war crimes at each other (sometimes in space). This happens to neatly describe my exact taste in books, so I've kind of latched on to the term. Here's a link to the original post with some examples.

Worm is piece of web fiction that about a bullied 16-year-old girl in a world where sometimes the worst day of your life gives you superpowers. She gets the ability to control all bugs within a few city blocks. Her other main skill is an Olympic-level ability to rationalize whatever she's doing as the obviously correct choice. The story starts with her going out to be a superhero for the first time, accidentally saving a team of supervillains from a rival and then being so starved for any shred of affection or respect that she convinces herself it's a great idea to 'go undercover' and join them. Things escalate from there. Continuously. For 1.6 million words.

Taylor's not actually a lesbian (though if you ask I'm sure someone on here has the essay explaining how she's obviously bi on hand) and the story doesn't take place in space. But there sure are a bunch of atrocities!

But yeah no if you have some hours/days/weeks to kill and a strong stomach for, well, everything, would very much recommend!
