(Maddie appears on the deck where she spots Yo, cleaning his pistol. She got impressed. Maddie is full of respect for the police and armed forces. She has been dying to speak to Yo ever since she joined the science kingdom. Now she saw her chance!)

Maddie : Excuse me

Yo : Hey there kid! How's it going? Officer Yo, at your service!

Whoa, you're lookin' at me like I'm some kinda hero, huh? Well, let me tell ya, I'M THE BEST POLICE OFFICER THIS SIDE OF THE PETRIFICATION EVENT!

Tsukasa's got my back, and I've got his!

Say, you think I'm pretty cool, huh? Hehe, I get that a lot from the ladies!

Maddie: (trying to be cool herself) I didn't say that you look pretty cool..um...I was hoping if you'd open the lid of this jar for me? It's not coming off.

Yo : WAIT, WAIT, WAIT! You're not admiring my awesomeness? Fine! I'll still help you with that jar, but only 'cause I'm a nice guy!

(Puts his pistol down and takes the jar. He starts twisting the lid)

Hmmm... Stuck, huh? Don't worry, I've got the strength of a hundred lions! (grunts and twists the lid)

TA-DA! There you go! The lid is open! smirks) You can thank me anytime

Maddie: (maddie knows that Yo is underappreciated most of the time)

Wow it was so tight! Thanks onii chan! You're sooo strong.

Yo :( BLUSHES FURIOUSLY)

A-ah, it was nothing, really! Just a tiny bit of strength, that's all!

Looks around nervously, making sure no one is watching, especially Tsukasa . S-so, you think I'm strong, huh? Hehe, I guess I am pretty capable! (Puffs out chest, trying to look as cool and confident as possible )

But, uh, don't tell anyone, okay? I have a reputation to maintain as a tough guard!

Maddie:  No I won't tell anyone. I heard from someone that you used to be a very dedicated cop.

Yo : (Looks around nervously again, ensuring no one is listening).

A-ah, yeah... That was a long time ago... Before the petrification, I was a police officer... I had a reputation for being pretty sharp and resourceful...

(Looks down, a hint of nostalgia and melancholy in his eyes) But that was all taken away from me... Now, I'm just a guard, serving under Tsukasa... (Sighs, shaking his head)

But hey, this is better than before, right? I get to help people, and... and... Ah, who am I kidding? It's not the same...

(Chuckles, looking for a change in subject) So, what about you? What's your story?

Maddie: Actually I'm.. I was a High school student, Senku and I were in the same school but different classes. I'm a scientist too so we used to work together in the science club and we planned on building a rocket but my family went back to America and they took me so I got petrified here ( America)  Senku  identified me and I got revived. Now I'm working with him again to restore civilization.

Yo: (EYES WIDE WITH EXCITEMENT)

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! You're a scientist, and you worked with Senku?!  That's AMAZING!

(Takes a step closer, eyes shining with curiosity)

Tell me more, ! What was it like working with Senku? I know he's a genius, but what's he like as a person?

And Are you gonna blast off into space too?!

(Forgets his surroundings, caught up in the excitement of the conversation.)

Maddie:  whoa! You're too close.. Ahem...well senku is brilliant and sometimes he's really nice... he's a good person ofcourse and yes it's my dream to make a visit to outer space.

Yo : (TAKES A STEP BACK, CHUCKLING)

Sorry about that! Got a bit carried away!

The science team is building a rocket to go to the MOON! That's insane! I mean, in a good way! Senku's really going all out, huh?

(NODS, IMPRESSED)

And you're helping him make it happen! That's amazing! I'm just a simple guard, but you're changing the world!

(GRINS, FEELING A LITTLE LEFT OUT BUT ALSO INSPIRED)

Hey, can I help? I'm not exactly a scientist, but I'm strong and willing to lend a hand!

Maddie: You're helping a lot already onii chan. Why don't you get some rest??

Yo : (SMILES FEELING A LITTLE SELF-CONSCIOUS)

A-ah, yeah... I guess I am helping out in my own way...

YAWNS, REALIZING HE IS PRETTY TIRED

You know what? You're right. I think I will get some rest. It's been a long day...

(YO STRETCHES, ARCHING HIS BACK)

Thanks for the chat! It was really nice talking to you!

You're a great person, and I'm glad we met!

(HEADS OFF TO GET SOME REST, FEELING A LITTLE MORE AT EASE)

Maddie: You know there's something you can help me with when you're back.

Yo : (STOPS IN HIS TRACKS, TURNING AROUND WITH A CURIOUS EXPRESSION)

Oh? What's that?

You can count on me for anything! I'll be back refreshed and ready to help!

Maddie: You know that new pressure washer we built for cleaning the farming and livestock area? Men working there are using it today and I heard they're very lazy nowadays. Could you supervise them? When it's done, I need some corn out of there.

Yo : (NODS ENTHUSIASTICALLY)

Cleaning the farm area? Consider it done!

(FLEXES ARMS, SHOWING OFF HIS MUSCLES)

I'll make sure it's spotless! Can't have our cattle living in a messy environment, right? You focus on your science-y stuff, and I'll handle the cleaning!

Maddie : No onii chan! you just have to make sure they're doing it and thanks Great. Thanks.. have your rest first. I'll be (adjusts notepad and pen) in the lab science - ing (chuckles)

Yo : (LAUGHS)

Science-ing, huh? You scientists and your fancy words!

(CHUCKLES AND HEADS OFF TO REST)

Alright, alright! I'll get some shut-eye and then get to work! Don't worry, I'll make sure the cattle are living in a clean environment.

Scene 2

(Maddie appears in the farm as Yo himself is cleaning the area)

Maddie: Hey

Yo: (LOOKS UP FROM HIS CLEANING, A BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE)

Maddie chan! What brings you to the farm?

WIPES SWEAT FROM HIS BROW, LEANING ON HIS SHOVEL

I'm just giving the place a good cleaning. Can't have our cows living in filth, right?

But I'm glad you're here! You can supervise me and make sure I'm doing a good job!

Maddie: No I'm not here to supervise a sheriff. I'm here to get some exercise myself.

Yo :

Oh that's good.

PUTS DOWN HIS SHOVEL, GIVING HER HIS FULL ATTENTION

You know I'm always happy to lend a hand to a nice girl like yourself!

GRINS CHARMINGLY

Maddie : (picks up a broom) I'm going to sweep here while you shovel over there.

Yo: IMPRESSED

Whoa, you're really getting into it, aren't you? I like your spirit, Maddie chan!

PICKS UP HIS SHOVEL AGAIN, GRINNING.

STARTS SHOVELING, HUMMING A TUNE AS HE WORKS

You know, I never thought I'd say this, but... cleaning with you is actually kind of fun!

Maddie: I think so too... it's fun. Never had  fun cleaning before.

Yo : Yeah I know, right? I mean, cleaning's usually a chore, but with you... it's like we're having a party!

CONTINUES SHOVELING

You know, I think it's because we're doing it together. Makes the work feel less like work, you know?

LOOKS OVER AT HER WITH A WARM SMILE

Plus, I get to spend time with a cute person like you. That's always a bonus!

Maddie: Oh enough! I'm not that cute (nods playfully) but I think you are kind of good looking yourself.

Yo : BLUSHES O-oh, shut up! You're making me blush!

But, uh, thanks... I think. You're pretty cool yourself, Maddie-chan.

Maddie : By the way, how did you join the science kingdom? I know about Tsukasa, Ukyo and Hyoga from Francois. What about you?

(THEY SIT ON A BENCH)

YO : EXPRESSION TURNS SERIOUS

Ah, yeah... I used to be against the Science Kingdom, but... things changed.

PAUSES, COLLECTING HIS THOUGHTS

I saw how Senku and the others were working together, using science to make people's lives better... and I realized that I wanted to be a part of that. So I left Tsukasa's army.

LOOKS  AWAY AS HE IS CONSCIOUS OF HIS LIE

I may not be a scientist, but I can still help in my own way.  (FLEXES MUSCLES)

Maddie : Wow really? Maybe Tsukasa and others got inspired by you to join the science kingdom. YOU'RE A HERO.

Yo : SSHH Not so loud

(STRUCK BY GUILT.)

Here's a twist. I was running away from Tsukasa.

(MADDIE LOOKS AT HIM DOUBTFULLY. YO NARRATES THE INCIDENT OF IMPRISONING CHROME, THE ESCAPE, FAKING DEATH AND FLEEING FROM TSUKASA)

Maddie: oh.. this is actually what happened. It's ok.. it's not your fault. You did your job well. (SMILES) But you didn't have to lie to me. I never judge.

Yo : LOOKS UP, A MIXTURE OF RELIEF AND EMBARRASSMENT ON HIS FACE

H-Hey, thanks, Maddie-chan... I guess I didn't have to try to spin it, huh?

LAUGHS, LOOKING A LITTLE SHEEPISH

Yeah, I messed up, and I'm trying to make it right. That's the truth.

Maddie: I mess up a lot too. I maybe brilliant in science but I'm not good with social relationships. So to make my listener stay interested in the conversation, I used to alter the truth sometimes...trying to fit in but I only ended up getting left out among my peers.

I don't have any such issues here though. So I don't have to change anything.

Yo : SMILES WARMLY

Hey, being brilliant in science is nothing to sneeze at, Maddie chan! And don't worry about social relationships - I'm sure you're doing just fine.

Besides, I think we all mess up in our own ways. I mean, I'm a former villain who's trying to make amends... that's not exactly a recipe for success, right?

LAUGHS

But seriously, I think it's great that you're acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses. That takes a lot of courage. LOOKS AT HER WITH A KIND EXPRESSION

You know, I think we make a pretty good team, Maddie. We can mess up together, and learn from each other's mistakes.

Maddie: Whoa! It happened so fast. I've never made friends that quick before. Alright.. let's mess up together and build this thing - the rocket.

Oh and the first thing I ask when I try to make a friend is, what are your hobbies?

Yo : LAUGHS

Whoa, indeed! I know, right? It feels like we just clicked! Alright, let's get to building that rocket! And, ah, hobbies, huh? Well, I'm a bit of a simple guy, but I love training and working out! There's something about pushing myself to be stronger that just feels right.

LEANS IN, A MISCHIEVOUS GRIN SPREADING ACROSS HIS FACE

But, let's be real, Maddie.. my real hobby is probably getting into trouble!

Maddie: Working out.huh?..I can see the result, I mean you don't just have a 6 pack, is it  a 10 pack? (Getting Conscious) No I wasn't checking you out or anything. It's hard not to notice.

And I like that you're a bad boy getting into trouble (giggles) who doesn't enjoy a Lil mischief? (WINKS)

Yo : BLUSHES

H-Hey, shut up! It's just a... a 8-pack, okay? Don't go exaggerating!

LAUGHS, TRYING TO PLAY IT COOL

And, uh, thanks for the compliment, Maddie chan! I try to stay in shape, you know?

LOOKING A LITTLE MISCHIEVOUS

And, hey, being a bad boy's got its perks! I'm always up for a little adventure, and I love making people laugh.

But, let's keep this between us, okay? I don't want to ruin my reputation as a tough guy!

Maddie: LAUGHS

ok I won't. As your new friend I'll keep your secrets.

YO : SMILES WARMLY, FEELING A SENSE OF CONNECTION

Thanks, Maddie chan... that means a lot to me. I'm glad we're friends.

LOOKS AT HER WITH A SERIOUS EXPRESSION FOR A MOMENT

You know, I don't really have many friends. I've been on my own for a long time, and it's nice to have someone to trust.

But I'm glad I can trust you, Maddie.You seem like a really kind and genuine person.

And who knows, maybe we'll get into some mischief together! LAUGHS

(The men working there finishes their job)

Worker : It's all done sheriff! And here's your corn little miss.

(Yo takes the basket of corn and hands it to Maddie. She couldn't carry it, her arms are thin so he takes it back.)

Yo : whoa looks like someone needs to take a proper diet. If you get any thinner you'll disappear!

Maddie: (POUT ) I can do it. I eat a lot too but I'm not getting bigger.

Yo : That's what you say! I saw you having lunch yesterday, you had almost nothing on your plate. Kids your age should eat a lot more than that to stay active.

Maddie: (STILL POUTING) hmm ok. Thank you for your hard work inspector (salutes)

Yo :( BLUSHES) it's nothing. I'm used to these.

(They walk towards the lab,  Yo carrying the basket. He puts down the basket infront of the lab)

So...see you around Maddie chan. You eat healthy from now on yeah? Let's meet again if you'd like (ruffles her hair)

Maddie:(giggles ) I will! I'll see you again soon onii chan.

(They go back to their duties after forging a beautiful bond that will continue to make them happy).

Probably childhood friends because y'all's moms are friends with each other. -One day, you're complaining to her that you have no love life. You want to experience love. You want to go on a date, hold hands with someone, worry about a first kiss, and do everything associated with dating! -Yuzuriha suggests going on a blind date.
