👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

(Okay I've got this one from another anon too so I'm just going to answer here.)

I'm sorry to be boring but I can barely think of any headcanon off the top of my head, let alone a wild one.

But okay, here's one (more random than wild) — I believe Merlin would cry after having sex for the first time. Not like, weep, but he would definitely shed a few tears at least. At least. You saw what happened after he kissed Freya.

🧪 Do you research for your fics?

Not really. I will look things up, and I might get distracted and end up reading about random stuff that's related to what I'm writing about, but I just try to get "the vibe" right, rather than get bogged down by all the historical details. I mean, they eat tomatoes and potatoes in the show; if canon doesn't care about historical accuracy then I'm not going to hold myself to a higher standard.

Sometimes it's not so much about looking for information but rather trying to get a feel for what I'm trying to write, if that makes sense?

For example, I wrote a ficlet in which Merlin conjures lots of different butterflies and I watched a few videos about butterflies to get an idea of how to describe them, and what unsual/exotic butterflies might look like (even if I didn't go into much detail when I actually got to write the story).

Speaking of which, I want everyone to know that green dragontail butterflies are a thing that exists and they look amazing (they have tails?? they have tails!!) — fanfic writer ask game | prev answers
