When I first read isn't a kingdom, it was still anon as part of this year's HD Hurt/Comfort Fest, but I knew - I just knew - it was the work of Silly Goose Supreme @garagepaperback, and the next thing I knew I was banging on her front door (DMs) to scream about the puddle - ney, salty tide pool - she hath reduced me to.

At the same time, I was banging on @kk1smet's door, because while I had already decided I was going to bind the fic, getting an artist to collab with me on the project would be not only a super fun way to spend my time, but also be the thing to make garage fully lose her mind.

Two months later, and garage has finally received her copy of the bound fic (!!!!!!!).

A few details on the bind:

This was my first time doing a lot of things, like using colour in the typeset, gold foiling, and hand-sewing the end bands (shout out to @maleekamolscreates for holding my hand through the latter).

I'm really happy with the final bind - and how everything came together so beautifully. I might share a bit of the BTS of the collaborative process between @kk1smet and me, if that's something y'all would be interested in. It was really fun and energizing to jam on this with someone, and I could not have asked for a better collaborator. Thank you, K!

Drarry (and Drarry-adjacent) Recs

Drarry+ fics I've enjoyed this winter! I was going to do a general rec list of fics I've read and loved so far in 2025 but it turns out I've been on a serious Drarry kick (and intox kink/alcoholic Harry kick especially as I look forward to @hphedonismfest) so I'm just making this a Drarry+ rec list and will rec the other fics separately.

There are some fics where you have to double check the word count because you could swear they were epic length when you finish them. This is one of them.

This was both so hot and so unsettling in an extraordinary way. like truly edge play in the sense of feeling balanced on a knife's edge the whole time as a reader. I just adore the layers of storytelling here: real life, the author writing, draco experiencing something, draco saying it, harry hearing it, harry participating with it, the audience reading it, somehow real life again but different, and then how it just feels like all of those layers are just spiraling around in my head. There's something so brilliantly meta here about how we often use fic to eroticize our own trauma, and I love it.

Draco spends the night with a client with a pureblood fetish, Harry spends it watching.

this brilliant fic! wonderfully subverts down and out draco and harry tropes in a very clever way while also being just so hot. (again, alcoholic harry for the intox lovers.)

Harry’s high. He knows this because Draco Malfoy has stars in his eyes. — Or: a conversation in the common room takes a turn.

I cannot possibly write a proper rec for this fic at this moment, but I'm need to try. One of the best depictions of depression I've ver read. The plot is exciting. It's character driven. It's got an earned happy ending. And the cast of animals! oh magical animals <3

Somebody save the savior, somebody save the savior

Been listening to the James Blake/Lil yachty collab a lot and I especially have Save the Savior on repeat. there's just something to Draco stepping in and saving Harry from himself and the world that continues to take and take from him. in a way, they can't stop saving each other - they make quite the great team. alas, all i have time for right now is this quick sketch to represent a moment like this, where they might start to realize the depth of what they could do for each other.
