it is always kind of funny, albeit frustrating, to spend years of my life rotating particular characters and ships in my head and still worry that i'm exploring them in ooc ways. lol.

#txt #part of it is reasonable because i do worry projection gets in the way (while at the same time it can also add dimension)#and so i feel like... other people just Get those characters/ships better bc they can look at it more clearly #i also just generally don't know how people work on account of barely interacting with anyone irl and being so inexperienced at life #the other part is just... that it is such a fucking crime to write ooc these days that it's really annoying to have to worry about #obviously i want my faves to feel in-character i want my creations to be enjoyable but also... i don't think it should matter #as much as people make it matter sometimes #and so then all of the above all wrapped together then creates another issue of: people know me as a person who is #obsessed with this character/ship #how embarrassing is it to be known as that person but still write them that badly jl;sldjfklskd #AGAIN IT SHOULDN'T MATTER I SHOULD BE ABLE TO JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT but ough i really...#hate that piece regarding writing #with drawing i can visibly see when a character doesn't look like themselves #but with writing it's so mental and hard to put myself outside of i feel like i'm just reaching around in the dark at all times #and i kinda hate that :|#if it is that much of an issue for me i should rly open myself up to concrit and so forth but y'know #two wolves inside you: wanting to be good at this thing i do for fun vs. also... doing it for fun....#i guess fandom being so social is what underlines it all as so dire for me #maybe if it were just a piece of writing i flung out into the void rather than attaching it to myself and my personality and fandom presence #it wouldn't feel so life or death lol #oh to be the kind of person that is never active bc they put all their time into creating #they drop one creation a month and say nothing until they drop the next one

#i do read and appreciate all the asks i get i love them a lot #the stuff ppl send me is genuienly very meaningful to me i just don't know how to respond to it #im not great at forming thoughts and feelings into words lol I'm like this irl too #and i dont want to reply to a very heartfelt ask with just 'thank you' or something like that #ive been doing better with new meds i got and its rly relieving to be able to be romantic about stuff #when i get depressed its hard to do that bc everything is warped and i get this idea that the world and everyone is evil #ive found myself drawing a lot of the more cutesy positive art when i had depressive periods #for the last few years. bc before i would often do the spookier kind of art when feeling that way #as a sort of venting of those emotions #(not that i only make that art when depressed btw. it just obv draws from negative emotions)#but more lately its kind of flipped. where id draw this romantic art while depressed as a sort of escapism #and would only draw the spookier more negative art when in a good mental place where I could engage w those emotions in a fun way #if that makes sense #kinda like how sometimes you need to listen to sad music when you're sad but sometimes you need distraction #and how you might only want to watch a really heavy movie if youre in a good headspace

oh baby we're so back

#so i had. a somewhat cracked idea #so i had made some genshin ocs for fun a few months ago #and ended up getting way too attached to one of them in particular #and i kept thinking like man drawing them is one thing but i would love to see that oc as like an actual character in action #without manipulating the actual game of course. cuz that can get you banned and i don't want that ;3;#but then i was like wait. i could just mock it up in blender #because i've used blender before. i had to use it for a couple years in high school for art and animation stuff #and then promptly never really used it again except once in college for fun and it didn't stick #but now i'm like. super pumped about this #i want my vision to come true and by god i will do it #at first i was gonna use the genshin models for base part and started by looking up how people import them #but then i was like. oh yeah i could just draw it and then plop that into blender and just trace that essentially #which i forgot was a thing a lot of people do kjlkjlkl #but like i still want it to be accurate? or close at least #so like idk this isn't something i'm gonna be finishing in an afternoon this will be like. many months of work #but i'm actually rly excited about it man #this isn't getting into the animation aspect yet cuz that. will truly be tricky. cuz idk if you can import that data or not #from genshin i mean. like just slapping those animations onto the character at first #i think that either isn't possible or is more complicated than i would imagine #like. how many bones Do they have. makes ya think #but anyway i can't animate if i don't have a model so i'll cross that bridge first lol

A side effect of getting into digimon is that it’s like. Really made me appreciate Mechas more and robot designs? Combined as well with reading comics like Atomic Robo and then last week watching bang brave bang Bravern. For years my interactions with mecha media was like, Trying to force myself to enjoy transformers, and unfortunately I just don’t think it’s a media franchise for me and it really stifled my ability to enjoy mecha as a genre because of trying to pigeonhole into that. I suppose this is a very roundabout way to say that if anyone has any mecha recommendations hit an ant up about this.
