Finally found the original VOD of Michael McChill joining the SMP during his subathon after I’ve been looking for it for over a year and a half!!!!!! It got deleted like two three days after it aired when I went back to watch it again because I loved it so much and I was so so sad. The only things that ever existed were Foolish’s POV of the tour he gave to Michael (I can’t even remember if Michael was live for that) and half an hour of Philza interacting with him. If you never got to watch it, I would 100% recommend it, watching delirious Michael McChill interacting with Krinios, Philza, and others is a treat.

I have a request for dream smp fans, specifically ones of the less popular characters. I’m writing a fic that is theoretically going to have every character in the dream smp included. I know the lore to everyone’s character, what I don’t have is the fan interpretation of many characters. I’m looking for character studies/meta posts for the following people: Eret, Purpled, Niki, Foolish, Puffy, Michael, Eryn, Hannah, and Boomer. Finished the Michael Mcchill patch :D its the hair of his mascot Alessa, and I had to get wiggly with the placement of the shape but it came out great on this material. I’m getting a bit better with the technique I think. Not perfect, but alright.

MichaelMcChill limped brokenly by the cottage where smoke rose from the chimney and red mushrooms clustered by the door.  It was the cottage where George and the young Sapnap lived, or rather vacationed win kingship burdened, them and That shy little dryad, Karl.  George and Sappy knew they were soulmates now, and warm candlelight spilled from that cottage at all hours and their laughter echoed sweetly.  On the left was Tubbo and Tommy’s little honeymoon, more of just a garden really, and a s- ton of sewers full of treasure and well-counted weapons lockers most likely.  -  Michael didn't know who his soumate was yet, but he had priorities, and loyalty, so though who those enemies were may shift, he sure as bloody hell knew who his enemies were.

Whether those enemies be the unbreaking obsidian of a wall, or more breakable men.

Michael wiped the blood and hair out of his eyes. "fucking Sam" he whispered, though only the needles and leaves on the trees might hear.  "Fucking Sam." him and his fucking traps. ��He hadn't even seen the fucking dripstone.

A thousand blocks and then a little more, yes, here was the little meadow, the long high hill, the gleaming lightning rod that marked Serenity.  He wandered through the path and stepped on a pressure plate and then entered the hill.  

The welcoming walls of his base wrapped around him, te walls of kelp and aquarium.  No one might notice but he did, no matter what the interior looked like or what chests it held, the outline matched, with a poignant throb, the outline of the prison.

He looked up at the wall besides him, covered in giving tree bark, pins pushed in and pictures hung from it's surface, long red dyed strands of spidersilk connecting point a to point b, question to conclusion.  clue to clue.

Of course some people had heard the story of the "cycle of universes" and "the universes before this one".  That things used to be different, the immutable rules of soulbond and violently caused death.

"Universes before this one? such an odd idea, kinda bullshit." Michael mumbled quietly.

And yet, and yet that is where his hopes rested now.

He stared up at his corkboard.

He had also heard about.... books.  Snippets of ritual that could bring back those older times, one that could give a life, or could temporarily call down the strengthening blood haze of the red state for one hour or one day, though that hour was rumored to be a painful agony.  Unlikely to be real, but one to switch soulmates, rumors of that also whispered of requiring a treasure trove of amethysts and horns, as did all such rituals in lesser quantities.

And of course, the book, the ancient ritual, that would allow one to descend and enter the red state, to hold away the bonds of soulmates for a time, and to call down that state of war willingly.  To make that sacrifice.

He wended his way down into the basement. Here is where he had found the artifact, the one thing that got this whole place going.

The buried stained glass window gleamed a full span higher than him, lit from behind by an all too convenient bit of sun down a shaft, and carefully brushed free of dirt by him.

He went and kneeled before it.  The picture showed all his hopes, his one true hope.  In stained glass form before him - two figures of old. The lupine ears,  saplings and vines reaching upward, a headband - black.  A glint of canine teeth.

Two figures embraced.

He looked down at his axe, marked in galaxian, just as his sword was, just as his bow was.  But this marked by the words he had pieced together from the ancient texts.

He hardly needed to run his hands over the handle anymore to know what they said.

Allowing myself to bitch about the Dream SMP and how the community treated most of the streamers ONCE in 2024. A lot of awesome things came from this SMP, but there was just so much...

it really does suck that if someone's name wasn't TommyInnit or Dream, or their characters weren't connected to them in some way, they got completely ignored

Because they weren't the 'main characters'

So many of them had such fantastic lore, but no. It was cTommy that was the most tragic. It was cDream that was the Bad Guy. It was cBeeDuo that were THE Dynamic. Fuck everyone else, I guess

Don't even get me started on how OBSESSED everyone was with Michael the pig, and how people would demand that others 'check on him :(' as if he wasn't just ones and zeroes and NOT REAL

(I sometimes WISH cSapnap had killed Michael the Pig just so cBeeDuo stans would have shut the fuck up in other people's chats. The amount of obsession and damage that fake virtual pig baby did to fans' brains and etiquette should be studied even today)

The amount of disrespect that 95% of the DSMP members had to go through, ESPECIALLY THE WOMEN, because they weren't the Special Spotlight Characters infuriates me even today

It wasn't all bad. A huge chunk of the general community was so very sweet, and I've made a lot of friends I still have today because of the DSMP. Fuck, it's a huge reason that I wanna put lore in all of my Minecraft characters. But it doesn't make the negatives not have happened

Michael McChill (my stream) has been a streamer and in the Minecraft community for years. Michael is mostly known for a couple things. He has a charity called "Raising the Bar" which he does at least once a year. He has participated in A LOT of influential SMPs such as Dream SMP, SMPLive, SMPEarth, 2b2t, and more. He also participated in MCC, he won the first one, he was in the team when Quackity won, and the one where Techno and Dream were in the same thing. But most importantly for the cultural touchstone he is the guy behind "Mamma Mia FUCK Here I go again"

Tri is a Panamanian streamer who mostly does art but has being a fan of the QSMP since the beginning. She made a very funny presentation about why she should join the SMP and had me CHARMED. I saw that video and I was charmed by her immediately. I never watched her before that, but I already love her DEEPLY. TLDR of the video (since is in Spanish) these are the points she makes

She already is on the SMP because there's Fooligetta art that she made.

"There are only 6 people in Panamaland, me and my family, so I'm very important representation"

She knows so much and has brain rot over QSMP

She is a linguistics nerd

Lastly, does Brunim "Cotoco" Neets need any introduction? Everyone knows about this relationship with Forever, and while that is a big reason why I want him to join, I'm not like other people and that is my only reason why I want him to join. I'm genuinely more interested in how he will react to Philza and Bad since he knows that Forever has/had a thing for them... plus, it will be very funny to see how 3 anarchists who have pasts in high positions of power are all CLEARLY supernatural, would be fun. PLUS! He also knows Pac and Mike through Stonkscraft, so it's very fun and interesting to see if he will interact with them and how because Tazercraft has a deep history with Cellbit, but also with Brunim (although not as traumatic).

Remember the DSMP/MCYT citizen memes? I think we should make ones like those again but it’s just memes predicting what we’ll be posting about as a fandom or as ex-fandom members in like a decade from now. Here are my first contenders:

okay. i’ll ask. what happened this time? something about george, something about quackity? unsurprisingly, i am in the dark and i like being able to see

um. best i can do in brief:

quackity has his bilingual qsmp. dream says Uh Oh i'm doing something similar in the future jsyk before the copying accusations roll in !!

dream later announces the usmp, which is multilingual with live translation. a day later, q announces that the qsmp is now gonna be multilingual with live translation. apparently there had been hints of this maybe a week ago, but the timing was still like. Man.

people start making jokes about starting their own smps (sapnap, george, shadoune, farfa, michael mcchill???), and dream likes (most of) the tweets. it kind of alleviates the copycat drama for a minute

george gets off his plane in LA after 3.5 hours of sleep and heads straight to the NRG streaming setup to launch his own smp, the slut smp, and pings the dsmp discord to get people to join. he proceeds to stream for a few hours, accompanied by a rotating cast (tubbo, sam, bbh, hannah, sylvee, cpk, punz, eryn, etc). they end up shading pretty much every controversy over the last couple of years

ranboo makes a tumblr post in support of the qsmp in the middle of all of this and some ppl in dtblr hopped on the post to clown on him. they get reposted to twt and the stannies get upset. dream makes a half hearted 'don't send hate on my behalf' tweet on priv

Sometimes I wonder if a hermit was outed out for something terrible like Wilbur Soot bad I wonder how the fandom would react.

Cause while Wilbur had a lot to do with the Dream smp there was plenty of things that didn’t involve him. (Eg manburg side, egg lore, solo lore of characters like Michael McChill, Eret and Foolish’s connection, literally anything with Karl Jacobs) Hell there’s lots of ways to avoid writing him in fics for stuff he was in! Just write from a different perspective or have him mentioned but not seen.

But hermitcraft? They’re not playing characters the same way the Dream smp players did. They’re more themselves.

Like I dunno if Grian or Doc was outed to be a bad person they have so so so much more connected to the hermitcraft server then Wilbur with the Dream smp.

Plus I just wanna see the faces of people who said shit like “well at least I know the hermits won’t do that”

i'm sorry, i should have specified i was kinda responding more to the accusatory anons, not you, jenna, my bad. i'm pretty reactive to things about foolish and i think it shows :/ you're very correct, inviting people through dms or discord while they're streaming isn't too much of an issue since it's still somewhat private, but asking directly in a twitch chat would be a lot weirder. i've even held back from expressing myself in a twitch chat and instead talked in a discord chat instead because it felt much less 'confront this streamer and make them have a response to this situation', even though the discord was open to the public. i think it's something to do with general social niceties and good manners.

oh it's no problem i just thought it was funny that i had so many doozer in the askbox defending foolish's honour😭

as bella pointed out in the replies of an ask michael mcchill was invited vía dream getting fans to go into his twitch chat like i just don't think asking live is the issue

it's more so making sure you ask the right people. dream wasn't going to go to pewdiepie and asking him to be in the dreamsmp bc big creators like that are not going to prioritize your project or give it the attention it needs. inviting small creators who are passionate and want that spot before you even ask is going to get you a long way inviting people that other people on the smp are vouching for is the same thing. these people want to be there.

already with some of q's picks like dantdm and wilbur and what not were stupid these people are busy and have other shit to do the qsmp adds nothing to their portfolio that isn't already there they very clearly prioritize their own stuff before q's bc why wouldn't they
