the idea of a hangover also just sounds extremely unappealing to him, so why bother?

Yeah it's likely you're standing up too quickly especially after sitting still for a long time. It's good to get up, stretch and walk around a little at least every hour or so, but the more frequently the better. Drinking water or juice should also help with circulation. Doing all this also helps prevent fatigue, muscle atrophy, and eye strain :] I recommend doing wrist exercises/stretches too, to prevent carpal tunnel! (<- fellow artist who gets too Locked In)
