Devon Gold walked the streets of 1865's London. It was a dreary night that its woolen coat kept at bay. The light drizzle caused a gentle flickering of the gas lamps.

The fog would be rolling in soon from The Strand.

The Ripper had just been caught. Helen and James were safe at the Sanctuary. and H.G. was eating granny smith apples at the Warehouse.

A full night of tasks. Devon had planted seeds in Hyde Park with the Prince. Soon Windsor would become the secret repository of Golden Items.

Time for Devon to disappear into the Mists and allowed the Fog to flow around it.

The visuals for drizzlecore are generally of nature, yes, but they also are different from similar aesthetics like goblincore and others.

The criteria for an image associated with drizzlecore would be:

Generally, a photo of nature, or alternatively a photo of a crude manmade structure such as a pillow fort or a lean-to built from sticks. Photos can also include seemingly abandoned larger structures, such as houses and roads.

Liminal qualities in the photo.

A sense of nostalgia, deja vu, discomfort, eerieness, unsettledness, and/or surreality.

Optional but encouraged: fog or rain.

Visuals from goblincore, for example, tend to lean more green, or "witchy". Drizzlecore, however, will look more desolated, with more grey-blue tones in the photo. I will be posting a collection of photos on this blog later in order to more easily demonstrate these visuals.

what are some good small content creators for goblincore-esque stuff specifically? i prefer drizzlecore as an aesthetic but there is some overlap. bascially i’m looking for youtube channels that do vlogs of being outside, craft tutorials, rants about their obsessions, etc. i want to make a youtube channel for this sort of thing as well, but in the meantime, i need something to watch other than meme compilations that get more and more boring as time marches on

To me, drizzlecore feels like a dream. Comforting, like you’re being held within the arms of your lover. And simultaneously confusing, like your lover is also Edmund Irwin-Singer for some reason. This was meant to be poetic, but I believe it turned into a very Tumblr sort of joke.

I have been very uninspired as of late. Here is a photo that I think embodies drizzlecore quite well.

I’ve been sick lately, which is why there’s such a big gap between posts. Sorry!

Unlike many aesthetics, drizzlecore does not have hard-and-fast fashion rules. The key is to wear something comfortable and easy to move in. This could be any number of things. It is recommended to wear things that are closer to the earth in colour, but again, not a rule. As long as it’s something that you find comfortable, it fits. Drizzlecore can be expressed in different ways, as long as it still retains the main things about it: solitude, freedom, and the desire to be in strange places that are separated from normal life.
