D.S. & DURGA - STEAMED RAINBOW - Eau de Parfum - Novità 2023 -
Lucky enough to say ohhh yes, I’m wearing a rainbow...
In profumerie selezionate.

Durga that I've heard different opinions on and which I actually really enjoyed:
Cowboy Grass by DS&Durga - I don't know why cowboy but it's every herb (mainly sage) against sore throat on a pillow of pretty tame vetiver - very pleasant and comforting.
Debaser by DS&Durga - hey there, aren't you a very good juicy and fresh fig with both woody notes and slight slight coconut. Accidentally got it on my mask again and didn't regret it. My favourite Sacred Earth is sweeter.
Jazmin Yucatan by DS&Durga - pretty unusual Jasmine which smells like neither jasmine from tea nor like mock orange (that does smell like jasmine sometimes) - there's definitely a lot of freshness from the water and citruses at the top and greenery and vetiver at the bottom. The jasmine itself is a little animalistic at the start (if I'm not imagining it) and much sweeter at the bottom. Loved it.
Notorious Oud by DS&Durga - well this oud is weird and medicinal enough to be niche sounding and interesting but not unpleasant enough to be unwearable. I bet the civet that's looking at me with its big sad eyes from the bottom of the pyramid is also doing its job. Nice enough.
Radio Bombay by DS&Durga - well, that's sandal with sandal and sandal and a bit of coconut at the start. Pretty simple but pleasant.
Rose Atlantic by DS&Durga - well, exactly what you'd expect - very clean roses with citruses at the top and a lot of water and salt throughout - very refreshing and very enjoyable.

can you recommend me something that smells like liturgical incense, catholic churches or dead flowers water not with halloween/autumnal vibes but more in a warm but sad and melancholic sunday walkin through the cemetery kind of way?
🌹 Amber Kiso, DS & Durga
🌹 Angelique Sous La Pluie, Frederic Malle (more rainy cemetery walk than church incense)

This one's definitely aquatic, but not very marine to me at all. Closer to aquarium scent (where I wore it today!) or... well, certainly not chlorine-y like a hotel pool, but there's something about the water scent that makes me think of one. A bit of sweet greenness on dry-down, like dune grass if you squint, maybe? But I was really hoping for something that would transport me to the coast, and this isn't doing it. I'm not picking up any of the salty, stormy, or sandy notes. It's still a unique and fun scent, but not one I think I'll buy again.
Wearing perfume oil from a sample bottle, it's still on me 7 hours later, but faint. Just as well, I suppose...
This is the first I've tried from a sample 6-pack of Solstice scents, so I'm hoping I'll have better luck with some of the others.

(my life in the background raging like a hurricane) idk why but i’ve been drawn to so many fragrances that have juniper and elemi in the top notes? theoretically i should like them more bc i dooo love piney, fresh green and woody scents but it feels like having them open a fragrance is always a waiting game for creamier and more palatable mid and base notes. diptyque orpheon and the byredo susanne kaufmann collab fragrance both yanked me by the collar after first writing them off and now i can’t stop thinking about them. and i want to be more into herbal perfumes (something about them just suggests healing, home, comfort… like i can pretend to be picking yarrow and sage with arthur morgan while he sketches them in his journal) and i feel like juniper and elemi fragrances are a great gateway drug into that territory. layering with a slightly green sandalwood oil seems to be the trick!

Let's spread dreamy aromas all around.
So adorable! This new D.S. & DURGA scented candle, Dream Lychee, reminds me to enjoy last days of springtime and greet the new season with renewed energy.
A poetic garden with gentle notes of rose, lily, cyclamen intertwine with a fresh juicy lychee over a sheer lace of musk and sandalwood.
