Another one of Ithil Lavellan and Blackwall/Thom, a little older while I'm still finding my feet with digital painting. I could not get Blackwall's eyes right, or the metal on Ithil's breastplate, but nonetheless happy with my progress so far. Set in the hut in the Storm Coast, where my fan-fic origin story was set.

I’m showing my roommate red eyes uptie story and i just played the brimming glass of spiders audio.

Here’s some dialogue from roommate while she reads:

“She’s literally being eaten alive by spiders and she’s just having a stareing contest with their mother!”

“SHES FUCKING TAUNTING IT!!! THEYRE JUST FUCKING HAVING A STARING CONTEST OH MY GOD [high pitched, unintelligible]”

“‘The fault of the parent’ As in… as in its not the kids fault they’re fucking dumb or its her f- spiderbud’s fault the kids are dumb.”

“She gentle to baby spiber……” (me)

“She’s just bleeding out and she’s like ‘No. Nuh-uh. Get out from behind my fucking arm.’”

OK, so, combat scheme with dual wielding as a standard option:

Roll attack d20+d[primary] vs ac

Roll damage d[primary]+d[offhand]

D4: daggers etc

D6: swords etc

D8: longsword/small 2h weapons

D10: pike/halberd/poleaxe battlefield weapons

D12: serious shit

concequences: dual weilding daggers is 2d4 damage(avg 5) but only +1d4 attack, dual swords is 2d6(avg 7) and +d6, and mix is 1d4+1d6(avg 6) and +1d6. if you put some restriction on dualweilding 2 large 1handed weapons, this leaves you with a situation where dualweilding is very close in damage to 2 handed weapons, but worse hit rates, while still occupying both hands, great overall, also different characteristics wrt hit die thresholds. the main weird thing here is that 2 daggers are pretty concealable and do almost battlefield weapon damage, but i think thats kind of sick actually.

     luke isn’t used to his cybernetic yet. it’s easy to use and close to painless, but the weight and strength and sensitivity, those are all different. it presses hard into ahsoka’s back when he hugs her. it feels like years since he saw her.

     he doesn’t say what’s wrong. when luke gets upset, he talks the way a smuggler flies with imperials on his tail. it’s always been like he can’t stop, or he’ll choke to death on what he feels. but this time he can't find the words.

     they’ve already talked about his father so many times.

     is it true? did you know? before, he would never have wondered if ahsoka was hiding anything from him. he doesn’t like what the questions stir in him. confusion, resentment, anger... especially the anger. she must be able to feel it.

     “i fought vader,”   he finally says into her shoulder. she must have heard by now.

HE’S GLAD TO HAVE HER   back safely. Anakin had feared for her safety after she’d disappeared, worrying that she’d never come back. And, luckily, the pair had been given two weeks of leave, at Anakin’s request, for Ahsoka to recover from her ordeal. 

“ so, anywhere you’d like to go? ”   he asks, sticking close by her side as they return to their shared chambers.   “ or would you rather just stay here on coruscant? ”

His anxiety, fear, and premature grief still lingers in his veins, making its way out as it’s washed away by a wave of relief. He was terrified that he might have lost her. While he’s always feared losing her, when those fears are realised, it becomes so much worse. 

It isn’t the first time he’s lost someone. 

But this time he tries to hide it better (though it’s still nearly impossible), knowing that the strength of his attachments could cause him to be seen in a negative light. 

Waiting for Ahsoka to come home was one of the hardest things he’d ever done.
