re-reading the earlier issues of blue beetle (2023) and I'm wondering if we're not done with the Horizon plotline and we're going to see more conflict with them than initially positioned*.

The emphasis on the actions Dynastes/Xiomara takes (when trying to kill Blue Beetle in Graduation Day) are framed as "I was going to destroy Blue Beetle no matter the cost", and again the exact same phrasing is used by Pastor Ood (leader of Horizon) when he is saying "I have to protect my people no matter the cost". And Roma refers to her first time out as Nitida as something that she could not control or remember.

*granted it's possible they weren't actually initially framed as super conflict-free and I just mis-remembered due to how long it takes between issues to come out and the fact that they had to resolve the plot of Graduation Day quick before the mini ended and now can go into more depth. They also do understandably have a reason to be wary of humans as humans are shown being xenophobic to them, and we're setting up Ooli feeling insufficiently protected by Jaime. I can easily see a situation in which Jaime has to protect the Horizon but also protect people from the Horizon depending on how it goes with the new Horizon beetles

A species of scarab beetle, native to Ilex Forest (ウバメの森) that was long thought to have gone extinct.

Indeed sightings of this spectacular species have ceased about 40 years ago, when significant forestry work was done in Ilex Forest to better supply local charcoal industry and connect the economically precarious Azalea Town with the bustling metropolis of Goldenrod City. This included cutting back older trees, clearing deadwood and restructuring of entire areas of the forest, to allow for better, easier passage and the planting of fast-growing tree species.

But recently reports of sightings have picked up again, with one local bug catcher even managing to produce a sketch of the elusive beetle. His reports are currently being investigated by an entomologist from New Bark Town. The Bug Catcher claims "They look just the way my mom told me. She was a Bug Catcher too, when she was young!"

As of now, the reports remain unsubstantiated with many doubters. Some online commenters have even gone so far as to make derisive comments about a "time-traveling beetle, escaping extinction.".
