It was not just peasant women in tiny villages that feared the accusation of witchcraft. Being a Queen offered little more protection. One of the first Queens in England to have the accusation flung at them was Dowager Queen Joan of Navaare, who was accused of using 'evil magic' to try to kill her stepson, Henry V, alongside a small handful of accomplices. She was imprisoned in Leeds Castle until her near her death in 1437. Elizabeth Woodville, wife to Edward IV was accused of using magic to make the King fall in love with her and have children with her. This was one of the reasons Richard III used to crown himself King. If the future Edward V and his younger brother were concieved not out of love but of witchcraft, then they must be illegitamte. One of the charges levelled at Anne Boleyn was that she had a sixth finger on her hand, clearly this was the mark of the devil and she was also accused of using black magic to seduce Henry VIII and other men. For more on royal witches, there is a whole book about them! Royal Witches: From Joan of Navarre to Elizabeth Woodvill by Gemma Hollman. For more on early modern witchcraft, check out the ‘Witchcraft in History’ link in my bio. This is part of my A to Z of early modern witchcraft. I will posting everyday around 6pm to unveil the hidden stories and disturbing tales from this unique period of history. #witchcraft #witch #witchesofinstagram #queens #queenship #royal #medieval #earlymodern #earlymodernenglish #joanofnavarre #elizabethwoodville #anneboleyn #tudors #sorryitslate #henryviii #women #womeninhistory (at England) https://www.instagram.com/p/CColyahHx-W/?igshid=19g9qbfhtp2g0

I really like my Canon, but I've never had a nikon. From what I've seen though canons are more user friendly.
Now I'm even more confused... I guess I'll have to pick one and hope for the best! Thank you :)

earlymodernenglish said: we might find some out in TDA
Sorry totally forgot to reply to this. I'm sure we will (which is why I don't think Cassie will tell me if I ask her), but idk if it will make sense for that to happen until the end of the TDA trilogy and I NEED TO KNOW!

#onthisday in 1690, (Julian calendar) the forces of King William III defeat the forces of the deposed King James II at the battle of the Boyne. William’s wife Mary was the daughter of James II and she and her Dutch husband, William, Duke of Orange had been invited to take the throne, replacing her Roman Catholic father in 1689. The battle took place across the River Boyne close to the town of Drogheda in the Kingdom of Ireland, modern-day Republic of Ireland, and resulted in a victory for William. This turned the tide in James's failed attempt to regain the British crown and ultimately aided in ensuring the continued Protestant ascendancy in Ireland. William's forces defeated James's army, which consisted mostly of raw recruits. Although the Williamite War in Ireland continued until October 1691, James fled to France after the Boyne, never to return. The symbolic importance of this battle has made it one of the best-known battles in the history of the British Isles and a key part of the folklore of the Orange Order. Its commemoration today is principally by the Orange Order, which records the first commemorative parades as having been held in 1791. #ireland #battleoftheboyne #orangeorder #williamandmary #jamesii #17thcentury #earlymodernenglish #earlymodernireland #irishhistory #britishhistory #militaryhistory #battle #otd #historyblogger #historybloggers #blogger #painting #oiloncanvas #oiloncanvaspainting #art #historicalart #historicalfacts #keeplearning #keeplearninghistory (at Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCiS96enEOj/?igshid=676jq2qsatus

Original pronunciation of Shakespearean English, from an adorable father/son linguist team.
For more info, check out the article here.
Personally, I find the original pronunciation to be much easier to understand, and a lot more melodic, too. What fun!
