I just spent all day working on some manips for my fic...

You really have to admire the dedication of making these things look realistic, since there's no app or online template to make them.

Did I say "dedication"? I meant "madness".

This is obvious, but bear with me.

2020: publication of Crescent City 1, which introduces the concept of the four Houses of Midgard and how the series titles will mirror them.

2021: A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES (Nesta’s book with Cassian as love interest)

2022: CC2 releases. We find out about upcoming crossover.

2024: HOUSE OF FLAME AND SHADOW (CC3 crossover in which Nesta and Azriel are the main ACOTAR characters)

Double meaning: Nesta is Flame and Azriel is Shadow.

2025 (?): upcoming ACOTAR title. Extremely likely to be A COURT OF [ADJECTIVE] SHADOWS. (Azriel book with Gwyn). The phrase could also be “SHADOWY + NOUN” but I think that looks messier. Nesta’s book also used the plural noun with Flames.

Assuming that my 2025 guess is correct, HOFAS is literally bookended by two ACOTAR books with the ✨exact same title word as HOFAS.✨

“But wait,” you say, “this is just a coincidence. HOFAS is named after a House of Midgard, the one with the reapers and necromancers. CC1 was published way before these ACOTAR books. Flame and shadow are super common words!”

I think these titles and book order have been planned for a long time. It’s possible that SJM had shifting ideas when she wrote ACOFAS in 2017, but by the time she wrote CC1 (which clearly introduced multiverse concept with Bryce’s tattoo) in 2018/2019, SJM knew that she wanted Nesta and Az to be the prominent characters in CC3 and the upcoming ACOTAR protagonists. The crossover details may have changed over the years, but Nesta and Az prominence didn’t.

Definition of House of Flame and Shadow: “Daemonaki, Reapers, wraiths, vampyrs, draki, dragons, necromancers, and many wicked and unnamed things that even Urd herself cannot see.”

There is literally no reason why this House HAD to be named Flame and Shadow. The other Midgard houses have elements (Earth, Sky, Waters), but why use the word FLAME specifically? It could’ve been Embers, Blaze, Inferno, etc. SJM could’ve also used “Fire” — it didn’t need to be fancy since House of Many Waters just used Waters.

Same analysis with Shadow. What about that creature classification necessitated the word Shadow? There are lots of natural phenomenon associated with darkness and death and wickedness — the use of Shadow is a deliberate choice.

I genuinely think that this fandom overreaches with the theories. It’s like Taylor Swift — Swifties overthink every Easter egg, but sometimes the answer of the album title is just a giant billboard in a music video.

HOFAS is that giant billboard. SJM is not a complicated writer re: worldbuilding or foreshadowing. It is as simple as “the next ACOTAR books are Nesta and Azriel — what if I represented them in CC3 with the crossover title?” It’s obvious. Setting aside foreshadowing in the actual story, the answer can solely be found in the title.

I love Elucien and know it’s been a long wait, but I’m afraid that the wait is going to be longer than some people hope. I know people think Elain’s book is next but I really don’t see how that’s the case. Not interested in debating or explaining the Gwynriel ship rationale since there’s a million other posts out there.

Re: Azriel’s title being A COURT OF [ADJECTIVE] SHADOWS. I’ve seen people on all sides of the ship war suggest that the adjective be related to the heroine (Gwyn or Elain). I really don’t think so. The title will solely focus on Az, just like how SILVER FLAMES solely focused on Nesta. It could be MELODIC SHADOWS or WHISPERING SHADOWS or something else. But the adjective will fit an ability that we’ve already seen from Az’s shadows (we know they whisper to Az and can sing). Similarly, Elucien book title will solely focus on Elain. Cassian and Gwyn and Lucien are extremely important characters, but they won’t be represented in the title.

The library is quiet, interior lit by oil lamps, yet Wooyoung is drawn to it, his desire to further his research leading the mage’s actions. He’s looked everywhere for the books he needs, but no luck whatsoever has come his way. It’s amusing and frustrating – the memory of the Prince’s warning still fresh in his mind as he pushes past the doors, stepping into the dimly-lit building.

‘You’re but a mere human, Jung Wooyoung. Don’t incur the Siren’s wrath with your frivolous research.’

To hell with Hongjoong’s chastising remarks. Warmth wraps itself around his shoulders, soothing the chills from the night air. It’s nice. He could stay here all night in fact—

“How may I help you?”

Y/n watches with curiosity as the new visitor yelps, stumbling back in his surprise, seemingly not expecting the librarian to be there. Standing behind their desk, they tilt their head, waiting for the answer to their question. Of course, unless there is something wrong with him..?

“Do you scare everyone who walks in like that? Hell…” He groans, fixing his robes before speaking, “but yes. I could do with some help; for my research.”

Research? Y/n’s interest piques, and they lead their guest to the shelves of books penned by all manner of scholars. A pleased smile finds its way onto their face when excitement sounds by their side, the stranger clearly happy with y/n’s selection of research material.

“If you require anything else, I shall be at my desk.” And Wooyoung bows his head in thanks as the librarian returns to their spot, eager to dive in and absorb all the potential knowledge looking back at him. Take that, Kim Hongjoong; the magic of Lemuria will be his to learn, Siren’s wrath be damned.

He reaches for one of the books, and the librarian is back by his side in a flash of light., stopping him in his path. What is it with people stopping him from furthering his research? He turns his head, only to be met by a deep oceanic glow staring through his soul.

“Human mage, if it is Lemurian magic you’re after, you will not find it within these shelves.”

“Tell me where I can, then. Where will I find research into—”

“I will show you to the archives, human mage.”

“Wooyoung.” Y/n pauses. “My name is Wooyoung. Jung Wooyoung.”

“I see. In that case, I am y/n, and I shall show you to the archives.”

Finally. He’s finally one step closer.

“Lead the way."

Ooo, did you see the Wicked film trailer yet? It dropped during the Super Bowl and gave us some luscious visuals, but barely a hint that it’s a musical.

The First Look also didn’t advertise the fact that it is one of two parts. Part I will be released on Thanksgiving, and Part II some time in 2025. Act I has some great numbers, of course, like ‘Popular’ and ‘Defying Gravity’. But does that means we won’t get Act II’s incredibly romantic ‘As Long As You’re Mine’ until 2025? There was that intriguing moment where Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba caresses Jonathan Bailey’s cheek, swoon.

Ariana is prominently featured, naturally — she looks at home in Ga-Linda’s bubble:

And how excited are we that Jeff frikin’ Goldblum is The Wizard?!

He’s so perfect, with his combination of humor, dramatics, and wackiness—and he can actually sing, too.

Michelle Yeoh is also brilliantly cast as Madame Morrible, she’s got just the right shades of brilliance and menace. Also, FLYING MONKEYS.

Now, since we have a while to wait for Part I of the film, I thought I’d mention that I happen to have written a CW Nancy Drew musical theater AU, “No One Mourns the Wicked” in case someone’s hungry for Wicked content (yes this is a shameless plug). In this S1 AU, the Drew Crew puts on the first summer stock production of Wicked in Maine. It has a lot of the same flavor of S1 Nancy Drew, with a murder, a water logged ghost in a pink dress(haunting the theater of course), the crew as suspects, but also lots of tie-ins to the story of Wicked, Easter eggs for both the show and the cast, Nancy Drew secondary characters in surprising roles, and of course a lot of Nace (with some 🌶️).

There is definitely singing, and yes it gets very hot and heavy when Nancy and Ace sing ‘As Long as You’re Mine’—more than once.

Thoughts on Yoonmin Suchwita

Just a quickie write up of my first impressions as I'm slammed with deadlines at work today.

Of course Park Jimin brought Yoongi a birthday cake and serenaded him. Of course he did.

How touching to learn Yoongi bought Jimin his first alcoholic drink to help him through his soulmate dumpling fight!

Early in the year Jimin was in a huge funk and drank a lot (I WONDER WHAT COULD BE THE REASON), but then he snapped out of it for Las Vegas and spent 10 months obsessively working on his album, in which he realized how good he's had it, where he needs to improve, and what he really wants. Amazing creative growth.

So, clearly Yoonmin enjoy pulling each other's pigtails. Hearing Yoongi tease Jimin that he didn't have the body to go shirtless any more... not gonna lie, I sucked in a sharp breath. I am super sensitive to this because of my own disordered eating in the past as a dancer, and I know how Jimin gets dragged online damned near every day for being "Pigman." Frankly, Yoongi should know it, too. But Jimin seemed totally unbothered and they do razz each other about everything, so I'm gonna try and let this go.

The other thing I'm going to try and let go is how hard folks are going to lean into Jimin saying Letter was a fan song. Yes, it was an Easter egg for fans, and yes, he does love us. No, that song is not FOR us and anyone with half a brain gets what is being coded. But I'm not gonna argue about it any more than I'm going to argue about the placement of a J over an M tattoo that keeps being retouched while the others are neglected. If you want plausible deniability, Jikook will always give it to you. Have at it.

Anyway, I was so moved by all the wonderful things Yoongi said, in between teasing Jimin--how proud he was of Jimin, how hard he worked, practicing every single day, that he was a genius, that he always knew Jimin had the unique voice to be a great singer, that he wanted Jimin on his team from day one... that of course he will come to the music shows to support Jimin. Yoongi doesn't typically gush so this warmed my heart.

The way Yoongi kept insisting Jimin come appear on stage while he's on tour and Jimin eventually agreeing that he will. (Roo is going to try very, very hard not to hope he will come to Newark. More than likely Jimin will visit Yoongi on a stage is Asia and that's cool. It's all cool. If Roo saw Park Jimin in person this April, she would combust.)

It was made clear that the members are responsible for their solo promotions and have a heavy say in their albums so I hope that kills any rumors that the company is forcing a narrative or picking favorites. Everything is unfolding how the Tannies wish it to and that's good enough for me to get behind it.

I love how Jimin said that there's no difference between Park Jimin and Jimin of BTS--how he wants to keep going as a team until they are in their 80s--how what he looks forward to most is getting back together in 2025.

Also the way he kept hinting at another album (and the way Yoongi called him out on that--Yoongi pulled no punches, goddamn.)

It was adorable the way they made each other giggle about product placements, fan calls, fan challenges and the like. These two. I'm so glad Yoongi has Jimin and the other members to get silly with. And Jimin laughed til he cried. It was healing to see.

I love that they keep in touch with Jin, that they bring Jin mulhue, that they are happy he's at a healthy weight now.

I'm a little thrown about Yoongi mentioning grandkids but then bisexuals exist and there's been rumors he's dating a woman for a while now. I am not going to dig into it because that's his business. If Yoongi wants a family someday, awesome sauce. If Yoongi doesn't, awesome sauce. I mean this sincerely--I support all 7 wherever they go on their journeys. Even if Jikook don't end up together, I'll be sad about it, but I'm still in this Bangtan shit for life. I'm OT7, and Jimin ult biased, then a Jikook supporter. I happen to believe that Jikook are very much together but being very careful about showing that openly, but if you think otherwise, or it ends up being otherwise, that's honestly okay.

I will just say I'm loving that Yoongi gave Jimin a gift of pillow mist spray in Jungkook's and Jimin's favorite scent of lavender.

Mostly just happy to see our boys so happy.

Here Are the Updated 2024 U.S. Presidential Election Projections Based Upon connie j. chump's Severe Underperformance and Failures to Unite Republican Voters in Every Primary in Every State Thus Far, AND MAGA SCOTUS Denying Real American Patriot Voters the Right to See and Know What Irrefutable Evidence Prosecutors Have Against connie j. chump Prior to the 2024 Elections:

MAGA SCOTUS and their co-conspirators are attempting to taunt President Joe Biden into packing the SCOTUS or getting directly involved with the connie j. chump prosecutions.

Instead of validating connie j. chump's complaints about "Biden's Corrupt, Crooked, and Partisan Justice Department" and "…a form of Nalvany…", President Biden's best counter is to highlight how crooked, corrupt, and partisan MAGA SCOTUS is by running out the clock, denying the American people the truth about any and all irrefutable evidence that exists against connie j. chump, and engaging in actual election interference in an identical way, and for much of the same reasons, as connie j. chump's Stormy Daniels 2016 election interference case.

MAGA SCOTUS just burned their 2025 impeachment and replacement into the minds and hearts of every Independent, Democrat, and "Never trump" Republican voter in the United States for the sake of mobilizing all of those real American patriots into the common cause of purging MAGA from SCOTUS and Congress and denying MAGA the White House in the November election.

The MAGA SCOTUS disease and infestation would've poisoned the United States of America for decades if they hadn't decided to (un)officially rule that the U.S. Constitution and any and all laws of the United States of America and U.S. territories don't apply to Republicans and their supporters, enablers, donors, and voters by granting connie j. trump total immunity from criminal prosecution leading up to the 2024 elections.

The Supreme Court's (un)official ruling is that connie j. chump is undeniably guilty on all counts in all cases, has lost all of his recent court cases, and, therefore, they've decided to aid and abet the ongoing 2020 Republican insurrection and MAGA extremists' attempts to overthrow the U.S. government and install connie j. chump as Divine King/President For Life. Unfortunately for them, their Republican donors, supporters, enablers, and the MAGA cult, those are obviously impeachable offences that can be tried in a majority Democrat House of Representatives and Senate in January of 2025.

What MAGA SCOTUS has done is assured that in addition to connie j. chump being imprisoned for the rest of his life, the six MAGA SCOTUS judges (you literally can't call them "Justices") will be impeached and replaced in time for Easter of 2025.

Once the six MAGA SCOTUS judges are impeached, removed, and replaced by Real Americans by April of 2025, ALL of their Corrupt and Crooked MAGA SCOTUS rulings can be overturned and their MAGA agendas and "progress" erased.

MAGA SCOTUS telegraphed their recent action to help connie j. chump run out the clock and avoid prosecution when they cited the "Confederate insurrectionist Judge Sheffey/Griffin's Case" which they argue allows Confederate insurrectionists and Confederate insurrectionist judges to be immune from removal and prosecution unless Congress decides to remove and prosecute them.

The case also states that a Confederate insurrectionist judge, or any other elected or appointed Confederate insurrectionist, can't be denied their office, life, liberty, or property without due process of law; and MAGA SCOTUS is attempting to guarantee connie j. chump can never be given due process of law or a trial prior to the November 2024 election.

MAGA SCOTUS knows the MAGA-controlled House of Representatives will prevent any impeachment actions against them prior to the 2024 election, and so they've chosen to not only aid and abet, but also to fully engage in and further the ongoing 2020 Republican insurrection against the U.S. government with the goal of overturning the 2020 election, overthrowing the U.S. government, ending American democracy, and installing connie j. chump as Divine King/President For Life of the former United States of America.

Here are the key Judge Sheffey/Griffin's Case points that will be used to establish motive and impeach, remove, and replace the six MAGA SCOTUS insurrectionist judges in January of 2025:

"The whole spirit of the federal constitution is against ex post facto laws, or bills of attainder in form of trials by jury, and denies to the legislature power to deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law."

That'd add 18 million Republican votes and 19.2 million Independent votes to President Biden's total PLUS likely guarantee unstoppable Democrat House and Senate majorities to purge MAGA from all branches of the U.S. government and most state governments. Here's what that looks like:

As of February 28, 2024: President Joe Biden: 118.5 million (That's Some Absolutely Ginormous, Huge DJ/Divine Justice Energy!!! As Usual!!!) connie j. chump: 36.9 million (That's some pathetic, tiny, microscopic, insignificant and irrelevant small donald energy. As usual.)

That's exactly what Nikki Haley keeps complaining about and why she refuses to drop out of the Republican primary race(s).

I can’t wait to see where V is going to go with the Threads series thought I seems like we are going to have to wait awhile until then since she is going to be working on other books. I does make you wonder though about all the Easter eggs in her writing though since I read in a interview that she has everything planned before she writes so she works backwards and knows how her stories end. I always knew Holland was her favorite so I’m excited to see how she continued to incorporate him and I know she said she’s extremely exited to write Kosika. She said we already met the new main character for book 2 but it was brief and I felt like Tes considered the main character of book one but won’t be going forward? I wonder if Ren is every going to be a main character in those series or the next… like the world feels rich enough that it could continue with the offspring :)

I've just read V's monthly newsletter and it seems like she will go back to Threads #2 and #3 soon. I mean, she didn't say it openly but I thought she hinted that after she finished her last novel she might go back to works that are part of a series because it's easier to do. I also believe she plans ahead! I remember a story she posted in 2020 about Threads. She showed her progression board with post-its, and I think her favorite way to plan is know the beginning and the end and then plant the middle. So she knows how it starts, main events in the middle, and the end. It's a good way to know where you are going. So I think she definitely has a plan, she just needs to start writing. I don't know if she'd write the two books back to back, but I don't believe the #2 book will see the light until 2025 😭 it depends on her deadline with the editor. I think Threads #1 took about a year and half to be completed (between planning, writing, editing).

I think Holland will be consistent in the future. I read that she was sad when she knew she had to give him that ending in ACOL, so him being here is definitely a way for her to bring him back because she also missed him.🥹

I also thought Tes was a main character, and I think she will be important in the future. Ren might be a main character too. In a way, being a child, her pov would be fun to write because a child's pov could be highly unreliable XD so the reader might have a hard time figuring it out lol because she would see the world through innocent eyes. I believe V could surely pull it off because she knows how to write younger characters.

Another character that might be important in Threads #2 could be Nero, Tes' friend the bone magician. Nero might actually be a royal (maybe from the fourth or fifth family in line). He might not even know about it. He might've been abandoned as a child and had his memory erased after his family found out he was a bone magician. Bone magic is powerful but also forbidden. Maybe, if he is truly the son of royals, his family might've abandoned him because he couldn't be useful to them since bone magic is illegal. The royal family might've suspected of them, so decided to abandon the child before the royals would know he had bone magic. They might try to find him again because the Hand is stopping at nothing to dethrone Rhy. They would find a bone magician super useful for their goals, since this magic is not easy to counter-attack. We saw that even a strong magician like Alucard couldn't do much when Nero used his magic on him. He would surely be a powerful ally to have, if I were the Hand. It would also show good dynamics because Tes considers him her friend and she's sort of forced to be on the side of the royal family because she has their protection. Imagine her reaction when she learns who he is and with whom he allied. She had been resistant to ally with the Hand, finding out Nero is one of them could feel like betrayal, in a way.Also, the name... lol. Nero like the emperor. I thought he would be a fire magician when I heard his name.
