Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Easter is all about transformation. It’s about hope and glory and power seen in the Lord Jesus. It’s about his resurrection from the dead, the moment He crushed death itself under foot. It’s about the veil being torn, and the separation of God and man finally being bridged by the cross that our savior hung on. And because of this miraculous day, the most amazing day in history, we can be resurrected as well.
Believing in Christ is more than just words. It’s more than a simple prayer. It’s full transformation. It’s throwing off the old self, the dead body we drag around, and putting on the new self. We are new creatures in Christ Jesus, and I wanted to encapsulate that this Easter as my mind felt inspired to.
Praise Jesus for his death and resurrection, that we may have new life.

jesus entering jerusalem for the last time is meaningful. but it's wrong to think that there is a terminus here, or that we can talk only of him entering on a colt in the morning. because the gospel tells us that he spends the whole day in the city, looking around, wandering, engaging, ongoing, becoming, until it is very late—and only then does he go to find a place to rest with his friends. the image of palm sunday is not of a god entering holy ground. instead, it is a god entering holy ground for the last time—and he knows this. he's taking it all in. he's turning quietly down a side street to take a deep breath. he's staying out later than half of his friends want him to. this god is nostalgic. moving slow, dragging his feet. wanting one, last, good day
It always gets me how during Palm Sunday we, the congregation, say the words of Judas, Peter, the Pharisees…hits hard every time. Best week in the whole year.
