rant incoming and i know im shouting into the void but holy shit doomscrolling tiktok does that to a ho
the fact that 'warcore' is still a prevailing aesthetic makes me super fukn infuriated. current conflicts aside, it like reeks of military brown-nosing, or at the very least a willing blindness to the whole, yknow, war thing. Ive seen someone explain it as a "counter-culture aesthetic" to which like.. COUNTER TO WHO?? TF does this movement represent to be considered counter culture?
Half the influencers ive seen pushing these looks dont look like theyve even been within earshot of a gun but are completely down for doing some quirky RP posts looking like theyre in level 3 plates. I dont get how some ppl justify putting this style in the same category as cyberpunk/techwear or darkwear outside of the superficial theme of 'black & tactical'.
By all means if some1's cosplaying a character who is military, go off. I'm all for incorporating a military element in an outfit as well, camo-print has its place, combat boots look sick af, but the moment a soy mfer slips into a ski mask and faux-kevlar for a night out it crosses a pretty clear line into major gross glorification (intentional or not)
I know a bitch like me who looks like they were dressed in a chemical spill shouldnt shade, but war isnt an 'aesthetic'. leave ur military hard-on in the xbox lobbies [yes half of this is because of quirky Israel thirst-trap propaganda girl but gfd its an excuse to rant about it]

Just a funky little aesthetic edit inspired by my own style/aspirations
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used to make a ton of collages in my old google plus days, but feeling the urge to restart lately. Do people still do these? No idea. Slight ramble + sources below the break for anyone interested!
I want to make it clear that I have mixed feelings about the over-specific categorization of "aesthetics", as well as the general capitalism of it all and how people can feel pressured to buy all this aesthetically pleasing clothing to fit the idea of a pinterest worthy outfit and blah blah blah... so all that is to say, don't take any of this too seriously, and I'll try not to as well!
At most, these are meant to be fun little collages to look at, as well as potential inspo for character designs or your own outfits :) I support thrifting whenever possible, and just remember that it's infinitely more chill and sustainable to use inspiration you see online indirectly- not needing to buy every specific thing you see.
Gatekeeping is also stupid though, so I'll try to list sources, and if anyone wants I can make separate posts with the pngs that I made for the edits :) I just erase the clothing backgrounds, little embellishments I generally find on stock image sites.
Pants: Tripp Nyc
Shoes: New Rocks
Choker: Not sure, but I have a near-identical one from apeleather on Etsy
Bracelets: SimplyRozi on Etsy
Hoodie: Photo from StreetPit, looks like might be on aliexpress as well
