i literally cannot stop thinking about the “boyfriends” thing. i don’t even think i have anything original to add to the conversations about it that are already happening but.

ed hearing that word in a positive connotation for the first time? perfect.

stede’s happy little “yisss” after ed says he ACTUALLY FUCKING LOVES IT? perfect.

stede asking for consent after he let the word “boyfriend” slip so naturally from his mouth without a second thought? PER. FECT.

Izzy goes overboard in a storm and is in a bad way when Ed pulls him out. Head lolling, lips blue, barely breathing.

Obviously they have to get him warm - so Ed snuggles him down in bed with him and Stede, all of them in minimal clothing.

Stede is delightfully charmed by how Izzy keeps mumbling both of their names even though he's barely conscious and cuddling closer to them, open and needy in a way he'd never let himself be while awake. Ed is just so fucking relieved that Izzy's okay, he refuses to let go of him for anything, burying his head in the weathered skin at the base of his throat and breathing him in.

Cue Izzy waking up the next morning and being like 😳Fuck. D-did we.... 😳 are we, like... together?

He's still a tiny bit fevered and low on inhibitions, and the naked hope on his face is breaking Ed's heart

So Ed looks at Stede with big pleading eyes and Stede immediately grins and nods, and Ed wraps his arms around Izzy and gives him a big' ol cuddle and says "Yeah mate, absolutely, we're together now. Talked it all through last night. Us three against the world, mmkay?"

And Izzy just relaxes against him, burying his face in his chest, muttering "Oh thank fuck, took us long enough"

Anyway sometimes Your Little Guy almost dying is just what you need to drag him into the throuple lsdhkfgdksgf

ed being so vulnerable with stede during the bathtub scene is so beautiful to me.

i mean when was the last time that man felt safe enough to cry in front of anyone? and when he uses stede’s hand as a little pillow :,)

and then they go on deck again and ed is back in his blackbeard(ish) persona around the crew and he knows that stede isn’t judging him for being both soft and strong.

anyway

neurodivergent caretaker-coded Izzy who sacrifices his own comfort and happiness constantly for equally neurodivergent Ed, and eats his emotions and is super-routine-dependant and hates meeting anyone's eyes and is suddenly thrown out of his routine and normalcy onto the Revenge

But imagine if the crew of the Revenge were like. Little man is obviously overstimulated and having a continuous meltdown about how little he feels in control of his own life right now. Let's get him a weighted blanket and then all sit down and make a proper rota so he can relax

and Izzy just goes like a kitten who's been wrapped in a teatowel - absolutely spitting furious at first, biting anyone who tries to help, but gradually relaxing, blinking at everyone with wide eyes, taking in that they're actually trying to help and ooooh it's making him feel oddly calm? and cared for?? though he's usually the one who cares for others and he doesn't know how to handle or accept this but -

Grah.

Weighted blankets and warm hugs... good.....
