After what feels like an eternity, Developer Egosoft has announced the next Sequel to it’s highly praised X Series. With a lot of new additions and changes in certain aspects of the game, players will now have even more opportunities to write their own history among the stars. With new graphics, new ships, new weapons and an entirely refurbished economy system, players will feel more freedom than ever before. Their greatest feature so far seems to be a promised transfer throughout all environments seamlessly, no matter if you are landing your capital ship, walking around the space station or going for a shopping trip.

Hi, My name is Dan and I’m developing a game called Merchant Legends. It is a 2D retro-styled top-down economic role-playing game set in a medieval fantasy world.

The game is inspired by classic role playing games like Zelda: Links Awakening, early Pokemon adventures and economic & trading sims like settlers, the X series and Transport Tycoon.

I've got to say, space sims are pretty much my favorite game genre, but the last X game was so bad it wasn't worth illegally downloading. That said, this has to better, there's no way to make a game less enjoyable than the last.

Any thoughts about upcoming X4 from Egosoft?

I hope it’s good! I don’t really know what else I can say on it. The feature list sounds great, but X has never had a problem with sounding amazing on paper.

For anybody who hasn’t seen it yet, Egosoft put out a big video detailing the features of X4, which should be out on November 30th.

The X games are always a janky and mostly broken mess, but this looks like it could be the best janky and broken mess they’ve ever put out.
