What is Riri's relationship like with Tau?
also....
boop
Tumblr media
>:0 a BOOP AND an ask?? How dare
Eiri and Tau are very much the kind of couple who think the height of romance is existing quietly in each other's spaces and occasionally wandering over for a forehead kiss or to slide a cookie on a plate under the other's latest book. Neither of them are super touchy in the traditional sense either- cuddling and hugging isn't their thing, but they sit back to back a lot and meditate
And look, Eiri doesn't use the Light Side of the Force by any means, but when he's mediating with Tau...he gets closer. He makes an effort. And it feels....nice. (and Tau is proud of him. Quietly.)

What is Kalvonut’s relationship like with Nadia?
What is Eiri’s relationship like with Tau and Vette?
Ohh! <3
Okay, so! Kalvonût basically takes one look at Nadia and goes "ah, little sister" when he first meets her with Senator Grell, and spends the rest of the time prior to her becoming his Padawan just like. Recommending books for her to read and occasionally teaching her how to win at sabacc. (he doesn't cheat! he just. follows the Force, of course, lmao)
Of course, after she loses her father and becomes his Padawan, he does everything in his power to teach her properly, even though they're not really that far apart, age-wise (game says she's 22, I believe - Kalvo is 29 by the time that 'Chapter Three' happens). Of course- her crush *does* make things awkward for a bit, so Kalvonût eventually has to sit her down and gently explain to her that he doesn't really feel romantic or sexual attraction, and can't return her feeling the way she'd want him to. (he also takes the opportunity to explain to her how Jedi relationships are....extremely tricky)
Nadia takes it somewhat hard but- she recovers pretty quickly and remains fast friends with Kalvonût, even following her promotion to Jedi Knight. Kalvo is incredibly proud of her.
And now, for Eiri!
Starting off with Vette- he takes one look at Vette on Korriban and listens to her sass him one time and pretty much decides that Vette is now Adopted. He's something of a dry sarcastic himself, and his relative lack of interest in Imperial progress combined with his utter irreverence of the Sith pairs well with Vette's sense of humor. They get along like a house on fire and the one time someone disrespects Vette in front of him, well. They don't keep their spine too long. (he sends Vette away first, though, he doesn't want her seeing that). Vette is the little sibling he never had, and he cheers her and Jaesa on when they start sneaking away together, hehehe.
As for Tau...that one's a little trickier. Eiri and Tau don't meet until well after the plot of KOTXX wraps up, which means by the time they meet Eiri is fully aligned with the Alliance and Zakuul - she doesn't know he was once the Emperor's Wrath until after they've met more than a few times, and even then, their relationship is on tenterhooks - Corrain is busy trying to defend the galaxy from yet another threat (involving Celestials oh no) even as he's playing intergalatic politics to keep Acina and Rans from going back to war, Tau and Kalvonût and Gnost-Dural and the other Jedi are trying to patchwork-rebuild the Order, and Eiri is up to his neck in Jedi and Sith studying at the Force Enclave on Odessen, trying to prepare them to survive.
So Tau and Eiri tend to have more of a tentative camaraderie than anything, at least up until the galaxy is finally at peace. They're both too aware that what they have with each other could put their other, more pressing goals on hold and so they...wait. Eiri is also asexual, and is somewhat touch-averse as well, which slows their relationship down a bit - but they do eventually stop dancing around each other once the galaxy finally settles. And though they never get married or put a formal label on anything - Tau is a committed Jedi, after all - it's pretty clear to everyone around them that they're dating.
Thanks for the ask!! :DD

OC Interview for Eiri. What is your favorite activity to do with your nephew? How well do the two of you get along with each other?
When was the first time Vette and later Tau called you Riri?
(Post "Ossus Arc" - Eiri has defected back to Zakuul and the Alliance, Corrain has taken the Eternal Throne, and the Jedi are rebuilding on Ossus - but the Republic and Empire are not back at war in my timeline here, so...this is also sort of pre-relationship Eiri/Tau)
My nephew? Did you mean - the little shit with a cocky attitude and the most garbage sabacc face across the galaxy? The little priss sort-of-Jedi with anger management issues? The pint-size busybody idealist that I regularly have to bodily throw out of my combat instruction classes with the Odessen acolytes because he's trying to pretend he's not available to take a joint phone call from the Sith Empress and the Supreme Chancellor? (I mean, I'd hide too, but I'm also not the one leading an empire and an intergalactic alliance) That little brat?
We get along swimmingly, of course!
Well, he'd beg to differ, but I'm sure that's because he's losing the current prank war. Corrain, if you're reading this - the green hair dye comes out, I swear to Nahut you're not going to be a mint monstrosity forever. Take it as payback for conspiring with MY students to let a bantha shit on my desk, you little turd. How did you even get it in the base? How did you get it past your wife and husband? If the unspoken rule wasn't that I Don't Get You In Trouble With The Spouses and you Don't Get Me In Trouble With My Co-teacher, I'd have tattled on you SO fast.
Things you didn't know about one ex-Jedi Battlemaster and Emperor of Zakuul - he's a fucking nuisance. He's also got excellent taste in Zakuulan soap operas through - and by that I mean he bitches at ALL the correct points. No, we don't watch them together, kriff off.
And as for the Riri nickname- I dunno when Vette first came up with it. She was definitely using it fully in place of my name or any stupid Sith titles by the time Vitiate's weird cult of worshippers named me his "Wrath" but...maybe when I bought her sister's freedom for her? I think that might've done it. Quinn hated it, of course, but then I lent him to my ward-sister, Darth Anathemous, and I think he took the promotion to her inner circle quite well. Frankly I think Vette might've done it to annoy me at first, but honestly- she only thinks she's annoying, the little shit. It's mostly endearing now.
Tau's only started using it recently though. I think she picked it up when Vette came by while we were teaching the acolytes the scary end of the lightsaber from the safe one - some of these poor twerps are so incredibly nervous around weapons. it sounds softer coming from her than it does from Vette - like she's finally stopped seeing "ex-Sith" and has started seeing someone else. It's...it's odd, but not in a bad way, it's very...warm. Kind of cozy, really. Is that weird to say?
(fuck i hope she doesn't see this)
(Corrain if you show her they're never finding your body)
(for legal and Lana and Theron reasons, that's a joke)

OC Tag Meme: What’s Your OC’s Core?
The rules: Take the once you’re stripped clean, what’s at your core quiz here. Answer as your OC(s) and share your results!
Tagged by: @starknstarwars (thank you! :D)
No-pressure tagging some folks I've seen around recently 😁: @sith-shenanigans @tarrevizsla @darthcatboy @revanchxst @vexa-legacy @spitzobsessed and anyone else who might be interested!
I did all four of my main Force-users, with their end-of-story titles! Most of them are under a readmore. These were surprisingly on-the-nose.
silent admission: Corrain Gealai, Alliance Commander and Emperor of the Zakuulan Principate (JK)
in tarot, the fool is numbered 0 – the number of unlimited potential. as the protagonist, he is ever present and therefore needs no number as well as no introduction. the world revolves around you in ways that i can't begin to describe, though you'd shrug it off if i were to begin to explain. i need you to know that time is running out. if you want to get this done, you need to start now. sloth is your greatest enemy in this world, and you can only run so far from the opposition when you start with such a disadvantage. keep your head high, yeah? the kid you were is still in there somewhere. you need to show him that it was worth it.
behind the mask: Darth Occlus, Head of the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge, Sekulyn'torr (SI)
you aren’t slick about whatever you think you’re hiding. glass shatters in your midst, blood spills, children scream. like some of your friends, your personality of choice is entirely artificial. the difference between you and them is that you can get away with it. you’re unknown, perhaps even to yourself, and your goals are complex and unknown. anyone stupid enough to fall for you is setting themselves up to be frustrated and confused, owing to your being ultimately unknowable. i hope you can find an identity that makes you comfortable.
flightless bird: Grand Master Kalvonût (Amohtarsi), Barsen'thor of the Order (JC)
the thought of your found family is what motivates you in your own little world. you touch the clouds, and the soil gives way under your footprints... this is utopia. if you were to erase one thing, it would be your memory. experience is important, but ignorance is bliss. identity, in heaven, should give way to happiness. you'd give anything just to sit by the swings and eat ice cream, but this isn't that kind of world. you have to get up and wash the dirt off of your scraped knees. i think you have an escapism problem.
acerbic wit: Eiri Greine, Knight of Zakuul, Alliance Combat Instructor (SW)
you're a mentor — an old scarred wolf, an injured soldier, a disgraced paladin. your teachings read as shamelessly pretentious, speaking in rhymes and biting down hard into anyone stupid enough to make the wrong move. this isn't your first life, nor your second, nor your sixth — you'll make the most of your time shackled to this world, no matter how many loops it takes to get it right. with every defeat, you reincarnate; a little smarter, a little quicker, crueler and nastier. will you choose to be brutal, equalizing, that final strike in the face of your enemies? will you go soft, become tender and domesticated? the choice is yours. it's not like i can stop you.

Moonrise Legacy on twitter/socmed
oh god what have I done
Imperial side first!
Elennye Trizz: Social media ghost. She doesn't have any social media that anyone knows about and people are always wondering how the hell she understands any internet memes. (little do they know she makes all the internet memes. she is the origin point. she has 800 gimmick blogs all spouting vaguely republic-critical noise and cat pics. she's a psyop and a half)
Astayr Caleo: surprisingly domestic. Xey have a cooking space-instagram where xey document hir disasters in the kitchen trying to replicate Mandalorian dishes. Torian and Mako feature in some of them as damage control or taste testers. people love how ridiculous it is and cheer when xey manage to make something yummy. Xey never post anything work related and actively block people that try to ask about it.
Sekulyn'torr: before her rise to the Dark Council she mostly just used her social media to troll and annoy other Sith - she's proud to admit she's been suspended from all social media platforms at least three times for threats of violence that offended even the Hutts. (Especially aimed at Thanaton) After their rise to the Dark Council however, they use social media mostly for policy updates and to bait their political opponents into saying some Dumb Shit that they can then use to attack or arrest them. They also occasionally get into twitter-fights with certain ex-Jedi Alliance Commanders.
Republic-side now!
Deitente Verrni: the only completely normal one of the bunch. She uses socmed for life updates and posting cute pictures of her and Aric when they're on dates off duty. She also runs a memorial page for SpecOps soldiers who fell in battle and posts obituaries upon family request.
Kessin Meyka: incendiary radical but also memer. Kessin is *always* in politicians' comment sections aggressively pointing out hypocrisy and claiming wild shit like "uh huh remember the time you tried to pay me to smuggle spice? bitch" which is usually actually true and people hate them for that. They have a library of political memes to put the Jedi archives to shame and always have at least two snappy comebacks ready on demand. their fatal flaw is that they're always commenting on random people's posts like "oh you're cute :) hmu if you need anything...discreet" and it's simultaneously a hilarious business strategy and also really cringe.
Kalvonut: Basically just one of those Inspirational Christian Instagrams, but the Jedi version. it's lowkey tacky but he thinks it's funny and nobody on the council wants to burst his bubble so they just smile and nod. he also gives out pretty decent life advice too though, so while his socmed is THAT his DMs and askboxes and comments are always filled with really sincere advice and well wishes. he's wholesome cringe, basically.
and Zakuulan SocMed (aka Greine family)
Corrain Gealai: While he was a Padawan and Jedi Knight prior to his capture, his social media presence mostly consisted of retweeting/reblogging cool art and occasionally yelling at nuclear-waste-bad takes from some Republic senators - nothing too odd. But after his stint as Lord Lune under Vitiate's control, he doesn't return to social media...until he's unfrozen from carbonite during KOTXX. He immediately starts using his old accounts to post stuff promoting galactic unity against Zakuul. He also does 'blooper reels' where silly Alliance moments that Lana and Theron declassify can be posted - mostly featuring Imperial and Republic troops coexisting or getting into stupid mischief (ex: a video of a food fight where some uppity Sith lord threw applesauce and before long there were nineteen Sith and Jedi just. dripping gravy and being lectured by Sana-rae and Bey'wan while Corrain's in the corner laughing his ass off). His socmed presence is essentially a combination political and PR account that communicates in memes and sass. After he takes Zakuul's throne however, Indo Zal jumps in to manage his public persona. This mostly consists of "please stop telling Saresh's allies and Malgus to go 'karking jump in the interstellar void,' it's bad form" so there's a notable drop in fiery internet debates after this point.
Eiri Greine: pre-KOTXX he has Generic Badguy SocMed just to keep up appearances and occasionally bitch about other Sith Lords. he rarely uses them. Post-KOTXX and his return to Zakuul he deletes everything and starts running a "shit my nephew says" account where he details all of Corrain's shenanigans and other random Eternal Family buffoonery. Iomlan features a lot just with her head in her hands. it's got several billion followers and Corrain is constantly trying to get Eiri to delete that one post about the lightsaber cheese baking incident. Eiri posts updates about Corrain's saga to delete that post. This is a Viral Meme and Eiri is constantly tagging verified accounts in the dumbest shit just to fuck with them.
Iomlan Greine: She doesn't use socmed at all until Corrain's coronation, at which point she develops a very mild case of Cat/Nexu Pic Addiction. Her socmed accounts are all just cute pictures of animals and publicly scolding her son for being an ass, or on occasion tag-teaming with Lana and Theron to publicly shame Corrain into self-care. It works pretty well, and she's confused by the number of people who follow her for cute animal pictures, but she's having fun with it.

My Sith Warrior, Eiri Greine!
In my current legacy, Eiri is one of the characters that leans more heavily on the Dark side in his day-to-day life - but in policy and personal preferences, he actually doesn't have much taste for traditional "Sith Interests" like torture or wanton destruction. His entire personality can be pretty much summed up with "I was Forced to Be Here, the Least you can do is Make It Snappy." Like Lana, he's a pragmatist with little tolerance for inefficiency, and he's quite protective of his own people - Vette and Jaesa especially, as he regards them as his younger sisters. If anything, his one goal in life is to be able to live comfortably with his crew, in the relative safety he lacked as a young child, and he'll go as dark as he has to to achieve that - but no darker. He's not actually all that keen on stewing in hate and rage - it's too exhausting for him.
Part of this intense self-interest stems from the fact that Eiri wasn't actually born a citizen of the Empire - not that this is a secret anyone but he knows now. Instead, he was actually born on Zakuul, the younger brother of a highly-respected Scion, Iomlan Greine, who worked alongside Senya in Valkorion's court. However, shortly after his fourth birthday, his Scion sister had a vision of some terrible fate, and fled the planet with him in tow. She managed to obtain fake IDs for herself and Eiri and got both of them to Ziost after a few months of travel. Once there, she settled him with a temporary family, and promptly vanished again. Eiri was found by Sith scouts a few months later, and promptly sent off to begin training as a Sith acolyte. He never saw Iomlan again - possibly by design, though he has never cared to find out.
Eiri has never forgiven his elder sister for abandoning him, no matter the vision she had - but this is not a resentment that he extends beyond her. After the Emperor's death, the chaos of assisting Marr against the Revanites and Vitiate again on Yavin 4, and the absolute travesty that was Zakuul's war on the galaxy, Eiri joins Lana in helping to build the Alliance, and eventually meets Corrain - Iomlan's only son.
This revelation definitely throws Eiri for a loop, but while he and Corrain initially butt heads, they do eventually reach a tentative understanding about the whole thing, slowly bonding over time.

Note
I'm curious about Iomlan. Can you tell me about her? How did Corrian find her again?
Sure thing! She gets an introduction in my little companion sidestory "Notes from the Alderaan Enclave: A Crechemaster's Records" but her synopsis is below.
Basically - teenage girl loses her mother and father in a Mysterious Accident after mother has a Mysterious Vision in which Valkorion is overthrown. Teenage girl, who knows the vision but is keeping that record secret, is made the Chief Scion of Zakuul and serves under Valkorion directly for four/five years alongside Senya, which is a Great Honor. Valkorion then gets...involved with Iomlan, and a few weeks later she has a horrific vision of him abusing her future son. And that combined with her mother's previous Vision and suspicious death give her enough cause to flee the planet with her young brother, Eiri Greine (my Sith Warrior!), in tow.
She makes it to Ziost with some Force mind-tricks, hides her Force-sensitivity, gets settled in as a housekeeper and nurse for a prominent family of Sith Lords (Kalvonut's biological family, who are like...the Talos Drelliks of the Sith), and then discovers she's pregnant. And given the only possible father, plus her own powerful connection to the Force and the way the Sith treat acolytes...she freaks out over what might happen to her son, takes a leave of absence, and runs the fuck away *again,* this time leaving Eiri behind.
(Eiri has a Force breakthrough in her absence. Kalvo's biofam makes him their ward, and sends him off to study as a Sith acolyte in New Adasta)
She flees to Alderaan this time, and by the time she gets there she's ready to pop. Corrain is born - with the wrong AGAB, no less - but she *knows* the truth since she's foreseen it, so then she disappears again, leaving him with the Jedi with barely any explanations. She returns to Ziost, discovers that Eiri has been found by the Sith, cries about failing to protect him, lies about having a miscarriage, then asks for and receives permission from Kalvo's Sith biofamily to enlist in the Imperial Army, where she joins the Medical Corps.
She remains hidden there, even from Eiri, who resents being left behind as a child and refuses to talk to her, until the Shadow of Revan occurrence on Yavin 4. Corrain has an extremely powerful vision while he's there- one so strong it knocks him out, and he hits his head pretty hard when he faints, so, as a medic, she gets to see him to care for the head injury.
It's at this point that Raina Temple and my Imperial Agent, Elennye Trizz, notice her, and Raina as a Force-sensitive person figures out that Iomlan is being Odd around Corrain. Elennye (who has assumed command of the Star Cabal by this point and is loosely affiliated with the Sith) pulls Iomlan off to confront her about that. Iomlan tells Elennye that Corrain is her son without too much fight, then correctly deduces that Raina is Force-Sensitive (as is Iomlan). Elennye therefore brings Iomlan onto her crew to A) free Dr. Lokin up for more science experiments and B) to teach Raina how to work with her Force abilities
Iomlan spends the whole carbonite freeze time period with Elennye, right up until Elennye throws in her lot with the Alliance on Odessen, at which point she joins the Alliance and reveals herself - which is just about the time when Corrain's helping Gault raid the Gilded Star with Senya. Senya recognizes her when they return, Corrain recognizes her from the holorecording she left for him as a baby, and she finally admits to being too frightened to reach out before.
She doesn't play a major role in the story after that - and she and Corrain never really have a mother-son relationship, but they do become friendly, and he does eventually let her be Imeacht's grandmother properly - and mostly spends her time either working as a doctor and healer in Alliance medbays, or teaching the ways of the Scions she had led (which are a little more flexible on their interpretations of fate than Heskel's Scions) to young Scions on Zakuul and in the Force Enclave on Odessen.
Thank you for the ask! Iomlan deserves all my attention tbh she's a badass. She's a little like Senya, personality-wise - all business when she has to be - but she genuinely loves Corrain and Eiri, even if it has to be from afar.

Fun fact: Corrain Gealai, Eiri Greine, and Iomlan Greine, and Leath Gealai are all actually Gaelic words :)
The grammar is a bit fucky because they're names, not legit phrases, but here are the rough translations:
Corráin Gealaí - crescent moon
Leath Gealaí - half moon
Éirí Gréine - Sunrise
Iomlán Gréine - Full/total sun
Hence, the name of my fic, Crescent Moon Rising. And the name of the legacy, Moonrise legacy.
(Leath is Iomlan's mother - her name will pop up around Corrain's promotion to a Jedi Knight in the fic)

Character!Au challenge
Rules
The rules on this one are simple (for SWTOR players), go into the character creator and make an AU version of one of your characters. You can change literally anything about them. Class, allegiance, species, gender, ect.
I was tagged by @sithwarblade
Tagging 2 folks: @voiceofthetraveler, @sith-shenanigans (no pressure! just thought you might be interested, hehe)

Sith!Corrain AU
So, I chose to change Corrain's (initial) class and allegiance - because this was a very real in-universe possibility for him. When his mother ran, she initially fled with her young brother to Ziost, where she managed to mind-trick the officials into providing her with false documentation. And then from there, she again fled - this time to the Jedi, where she gave birth and left her son.
In this AU, Iomlan doesn't manage to flee Ziost in time, and Corrain is instead born Luina Greine, rather than Corrain Gealai. He gets picked up by the Sith very young - around five or six - and is pretty much immediately tossed to the Sith overseers on Ziost. Eiri, who's about five years older than him and an advanced acolyte at the time, takes him under his wing, and occasionally writes to Iomlan to let her know they're both doing okay.
In this AU, Luina grows up far colder than he does as a Jedi - not through any genuine malice of his own, but because he's learned apathy in the face of suffering. Unlike Eiri, Luina genuinely does not care about others - he's apathetic to the point of detachment (which ironically, he strives for as a Jedi).
Furthermore, his affinity for Force Lightning is discovered at an extremely young age, and so instead of learning Jar Kai variants of bladework, he focuses on his Force affinities and becomes a Sith Sorcerer. By the time he hits fifteen, he's every bit capable of frying half a squad at once, and regularly has visions like his mother. Eiri, who trains under Darth Baras, takes Luina under his wing as an apprentice.
However, the Emperor eventually takes notice of Luina's sheer strength in the Force - and then he disappears, Neither Iomlan nor Eiri see Luina again until his final death at Jedi Knight Sekulyn's hands - as the hollowed-out shell that is the Emperor's Voice.
