I want you to know that I laughed out loud when I saw this, so then I had to explain to my roommate what it was, and that launched a whole long discussion about reading on a 3DS and having to read around the split in the middle, which then led to us talking about the best way to read on a phone (reading the whole screen before scrolling vs continuously scrolling so you can read on the same part of the screen)

Which is basically all to say HOW do you read on a 3DS like are you reading from the top screen? Bottom screen? Both?? Also more importantly yay thanks hi I hope you like it so far! 🥰

no because lets talk about it. (also this is what part two of the what was i made for nancy wheeler study is named kjsdhkgjh like it's split into a few parts heh) anyways. genuinely cannot listen to that part of the song without thinking of nancy wheeler. and what flashes through my mind is the scenes at the party + the bathroom. and nancy at the holland's house breaking down in the bathroom.

and it's also like. in the context of stancy it makes u think like, what happened in the inbetween? ya know? like they were together for what, almost exactly a year? and the bathroom scene at the party is obviously something that has been building in nancy for a while. things left unsaid and left to fester within nancy's grief. so how many times has this happened before? and it's just built up and up and up while she's kept a tight smile and a perfect facade until the alcohol loosened her lips and dropped her facade.

okay so!! im gonna go with words bc finding pictures is not my strong suit. also i was picturing robin and nancy sharing a room bc they are The married couple. but for the sake of it im going to right ahead and also describe what their individual rooms would be like if they started out in an apartment with 4 bedrooms instead of 3

Robin's: everyone thinks it's a Mess™ (affectionately), but she does actually has a very particular system! it's organized (Robin's version). she can find anything in her bedroom, including but not limited to: vickie's favorite book she borrowed two years ago, a picture of chrissy when she was four years old, and nancy still asleep under the covers. she has more musical instruments than she knows how to play, she started to paint a wall a different color and gave up halfway, warmest room in the apartment for some reason? cuddling central in the winter. movie posters in the walls, and is that a cardboard cutout of Sigourney Weaver as Ripley?

Nancy's: she burned down the aggressively pink room of her childhood and accidentally went overboard and made it too boring, it's a detective's office. the desk is as big as the bed, it's a little scary. she requested help from the girls to brighten up the place, so Vickie framed a bunch of Robin's paintings, Chrissy gifted her Christmas lights, Robin spends all her time there, it works. the thing about Nancy is she is organized, or she wants to be, but she's a busy girl you know? she has things to do and places to be and mysteries to solve! who needs to clean up her work papers off the bed when she can just sleep in Robin's much comfier bed?

Chrissy's: that's a escape room, in a good way. like it looks good, objectively it's the prettiest room in the house, she cares about making it as pleasant as possible, and she's in charge of the candles in this home. it's a dreamy white girl bedroom. but it's also... Chrissy since when do you have a hamster? Chrissy should we be concerned about that thing that looks like an urn that totally wasn't there last week? Chrissy is that a voodoo doll? Chrissy where did your door go? Chrissy I swear this window wasn't here when we left? Chrissy did you exchange the hamster for a parrot oh no the hamster multiplied Chrissy!!!

Vickie's. i'm assigning Vickie the braincell of the group for this and you can't stop me. Vickie's an old soul, Vickie is into knitting and embroidery and arts and crafts of all kinds and the others dont know how she does it! it's a grandma's room and a museum and a safe space and she got there first so she picked the room with the best view, where the sun hits just right, and she gets to have the prettiest healthiest plants on her window sill while the other girls mourn whatever they try to keep alive in the rest of the house. if Robin got the warmest room, Vickie got the opposite, and it's an oasis in the summer, where the other girls will all hang out in the bare minimum of clothing because god gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers

what do you think the significance of the dagger above caleb’s head is? i mean, philip’s manifestation of his brother is a haunting enough sign of remorse/regret/guilt/etc (like you said, he knows he’s in the wrong) but why the bloody dagger? was it just another detail to make a point hit dead center?

It's because that dagger is the physical representation of all his lies. Without it, he could easily believe that Caleb had died in some other way; by Evelyn's own hand, probably, or another witch instead. Without that dagger's reminder, he could slip entirely into the delusion that he's trying to avenge Caleb.

But the dagger is Philip's. Hell, he even still has the thing (it's in his lab in the background, you can see it) and he doesn't get rid of it because he can't, because it's one of the last reminders he had of the Human Realm.

The dagger proves that everything is his fault, and so it hovers over Caleb's head, literally looming over them both.

pink lemonade is a series, again by BerryliciousCheerio! i highly recommend this, it captures their voices REALLY well and manages to mix heavy angst with fluff wonderfully. heads up, it gets pretty heavy in some places

titans by tom taylor. it might be a little confusing if ur not completely caught up on what’s going on but the first issue just came out. :)

spider gwen by jason latour. finished run that you can get in one of those collected editions. super fun read and the art is really nice too. lots of gwen!! (loml)

young justice by peter david. the original young justice!! very different from the show but still a fun read. lots of silly shenanigans. finished run. some outdated jokes/themes tho

the champions by mark waid, finished run. i love love loveeeee this one. like young justice lots of young heroes fun, with ms marvel and miles! they deal with some political stuff, like human trafficking, btw.

superboy: man of tomorrow. also brand new. some fun space adventures featuring a very different kon from yj but still. again, very new so it’ll be easy to catch up

logically i know sam would volunteer for tara but just imagine tamber in thg and amber (prolly a career or something) manipulating tara into being canon fodder to further her own chances at winning idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

sam thinking every single year that if tara was reaped she would volunteer for her So quickly but then tara gets reaped after she's already over 18 so she just can't and has to watch her sister get taken away from her with a 1/24 chance of survival?????? BRUTAL

and during the final minutes she's got with her she just tells her to be careful. not to trust anyone but her instincts. use her survival abilities, the ones sam taught her, the best way she can. not be afraid to defend herself.

then the games begin and tara forms an alliance with amber and the career group. maybe they saw some potential in her, maybe amber noticed tara was more prone to her charms than most. she kept her by her side during the games, winning her trust, plotting behind her back, taking people down one by one and waiting for her shot to stab tara on the back.

little did she know tara was stronger and smarter than this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the way you write….. its surreal. i really cant stress how amazing it is. like i have physical reactions to it, my face twists in sympathy, my chest goes hollow, i have to stand up and pace around the room, every other line makes me lose my mind a little more, it’s so devastating and i can’t get enough. the tension between robin and nancy is suffocating and i’m not even in the room with them !!!!! i’m going to scream eska this is so good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!‼️‼️‼️

sure! so, disclaimer, i have seen barbie (2023) three times now, and have been playing "what was i made for?" basically on repeat and sobbing. and y'all know i love nancy angst, so. it was kind of bound to happen.

it started with a conversation with sen (@fragilecapric0rnn) about literally just nancy and the song "what was i made for?" and thinking about nancy in the aftermath of everything (btw, you should read this post by sen bc it's SO, so good) and in the aftermath of everything....what is nancy made for?

(an excerpt from our convo abt it lol):

and then also something abt nancy trying to find her place in the world, her purpose in this world. because what is her purpose if not to solve mysteries and kill monsters? what does she do in the in between? she doesn’t want to kill monsters anymore. she doesn’t want to see them, to think about them. but without it, who is she? what was she made for?

my thought process though is basically: what does nancy do in the in-between? who is she in-between another apocalypse and who is she in the aftermath? and then (as in, the last 30 mins) i've been thinking about maybe expanding it into the "seasons" of nancy's life. losing barb to the guilt to her job at the newspaper to leading the charge in s4 and just exploring those realms. especially nancy and the newspaper and that talk with karen in s3 where she's like, "you're a fighter, nance." because she is a fighter, but what happens when the fight is gone? when the danger is gone? she's been living in survival mode for what? almost three years in the canon timeline? so when there is no danger for her to throw herself into, what happens? what's her purpose now? (there's also the mothers and daughters quote from barbie 2023 that i think would work wonderfully here with nancy and karen. so it's about mothers and daughters, too, ya know? especially in the mid-80s)

truthfully i'm not sure if i want to make this a ronance thing, either, or just a character study of nancy. i always love nancy coming to terms with liking girls after coming down from her survival mode instincts, and being okay with herself, finding some calmness in it and some sense of herself, instead of what others perceive her to be. so maybe there will be ronance, maybe nancy will be figuring herself out and it just starts out as a crush on robin. who's to say.

and of course there's always nancy and barb angst. this is what i have written in my notes:

she visits barb. her grave. talks to a body that isn't there, but some part of her hopes that wherever barb is, she can hear nancy. "i don't know if i know how to go back to normal. i haven't been normal in years, i don't know what that means for me anymore."

so yeah... sorry this got a little out of hand, but!! this is basically the thought process so far 😅

bestie, you know all of them are banned from at least one shop for one reason or another <3 here we goo (full disclosure i'm no expert in american malls and even less so from the 80s so if something doesn't make sense assume it's a modern day au or they're in a mall i made up myself)

nancy "designated driver" wheeler will pretend she's not excited about driving her besties and her gf to the mall, but she will make them pay for gas and a little treat for her <3

vickie and chrissy will jump out of the car at the first sight of the mall and will take their sweet time before getting back at the end of the day. partially to annoy nancy, mostly to avoid catching ronance fully making out

be gay do crime!! girls will be shoplifting accidentally (robin), to spite a rude shop owner (nancy), because fuck capitalism (vickie), and because cute girls shouldn't have to pay (chrissy) aka vickie is the first one to get banned from a shop! robin has to pay nancy for losing the bet

food court time!! chaos time!! they share, they try a little bit of everything, they have very different tastes, chrissy adds hot sauce to everything regardless if it's her food or not, nancy has stabbed vickie with a plastic fork before and she will do it again, robin is stressed, and yeah she slipped one time and threw her food and one thing led to another and there was a small fire and yeah she's banned. but jokes on them because her girlfriend was already banned from half of the places because "she said no pickles 🔪🔪!!!!"

they have a though time choosing what movie to watch. one time they parted ways to watch 4 different movies, they gave up bc they missed each other and left halfway through to be reunited. that's also where they're banned collectively because they couldn't hold back their gay reaction when *very important gay movie from whatever year this is* premiered (robin stood up on a chair and it broke. vickie threw her drink at a man who was talking. nancy broke someone's phone that rang during the movie. chrissy ran up to kiss the screen)
