Even if Trump is convicted in the hush money trial, it's doubtful that he will go directly to prison immediately after the verdict; there are always appeals. But he would be a convicted felon – a first in a presidential debate.
The hilarious thing about the upcoming debates is that TRUMP TOTALLY CAVED to the Biden campaign's demands on the debate format. It will be a lot closer to the no nonsense Kennedy-Nixon debates than anything since 1960. Among other things, there will be no audience for Trump to play off of. Presumably it will just be journalists, technicians, security, and (maybe) some close family members.
Trump's followers claim he's a shrewd businessman. But he got totally rolled in the debate negotiations.
And because Trump constantly belittles Biden, so as long as Biden avoids any truly major screw-ups it will be regarded as an outrperformance and therefore a Biden win.
Biden and Trump will debate in June and September. But the terms have changed
Biden's campaign also objects to the audiences — which it described as "raucous or disruptive partisans and donors, who consume valuable debate time with noisy spectacles of approval or jeering." "As was the case with the original televised debates in 1960, a television studio with just the candidates and moderators is a better, more cost-efficient way to proceed," O'Malley Dillon said. Other terms include having microphones open only when it is the candidates turn to speak. Biden's campaign ruled out other candidates in the debates.
Yep, Trump's microphone will be off whenever it is not his turn to speak. 😁
It's clear that Biden has already won the debate on debates.

Nightmare scenario!
Do I really have to explain what a horrific prospect this is?
I don’t think I need add anything other than to say that while a single poll may be meaningless in terms of indicating a likely outcome of an election as yet still eighteen months away, this poll does illustrate the nightmare scenario in which the British parties take control of the Scottish Parliament only to collude with a rabidly British Nationalist government in London. Do I really have to…

As annoying as the Libs who are all "come the midterms we will get pay back on all the Establishment Dems who stabbed Biden in the back by asking him to step aside" are...
And they are. In fact annoying is an understatement, these people are why the term "Blue MAGA" exists I think.
Anyway, nearly all of the ones in the House of Representatives also voted to censure Rashida Tlaib for using the phrase "From the river to the seam Palestine will be free" in a disgusting act of cowardice to placate Zionists.
So would working to get them kicked out really be all that bad? I'm not so naive as to think they could all be replaced with Dems who are further to the Left, but there's a chance we could get a few of them. And growing the Progressive Caucus is even more important now after AIPAC basically got away with taking out Bowman (redistricting also played a role there, TBF).
It might not easy to convince voters in those districts that this is totes revenge for Biden and not about justice for Tlaib, for realsies I promise (with my fingers crossed behind my back), but could it hurt to try?

I cannot overstate this enough, but with the threat of trump and project 2025, there is GENUINELY a chance that this year's pride month could be the last...
I want y'all to really think about that, think about it when you hear or think "I'm not voting" or "both sides are the same

Even if you're certain your state's Electoral votes will go the way they're going to go with or without your vote, you still need to show up and vote for your legislators. And stay psyched up for the 2026 midterms.
We do NOT want President Harris's administration to have to deal with the same kind of blatant obstructionism President Obama's had to struggle against every day.
Down off my soapbox for the day.

Lula considering re-election to keep "troglodytes" out
Tumblr media
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday said he is considering running for re-election in 2026 to avoid a victory of the “troglodytes who ruled this country”, in a reference to the far-right led by former president Jair Bolsonaro.
“I don’t want to discuss re-election or the 2026 elections. Because I only have [two years and 6 months left] in the term. I want to keep what I promised to the Brazilian people”, Lula told CBN radio in an interview.
“When the moment arrives to discuss [the elections], there’s a lot of good people to run, I don’t need to be a candidate”, Lula added.
“[But] if it’s necessary to run to prevent the troglodytes who ruled this country from ruling again, you can be sure that my 80 years [of age] will turn to 40 and I can run”, the president said. Lula is 78, and would turn 81 just before taking a new term.
“I will not allow this country to be ruled again by a fascist. I will not allow this country to be ruled again by a [Covid and vaccine] denialist as we once had”, he added.

Map: New Detroit City Council Districts for 2025
During their vote on February 6, the Detroit City Council swiftly selected “Option 6.” It was the last requested council redistricting map option that creates the least amount of change, but meets the bare minimum of the redistricting requirements for population distribution. The most populous, District 1, will still have 8% more people than the least populous District 3. I’m not sure that the…
