𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐈: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬
Daybreak begins to foil the cracking rays of Durham. Birds twittered merrily through the veneer spring winds. The green pastures passed muster pleasantly, and cattle behaved, feasting their stacks of hays and grass; abidance is the key to all nurturing needs. That's what the spirit settles today. In a beak of its glass windows, seen with a weaved robe worn— flashes upon, crimson eyes shone in a brief sentiment through the awakened sunlight, darted by the uplifting sky blue clouds. Hands were calm, scuffling digits scaffolding to be standing against the upfront living room. His lips— were sealed as relaxed for the sunrise to shine its full glory that would bring soreness to his eyes.
What awaits an adequate; equilibrium for the known master and his serving breakfast goes earlier than was planned.
Chisel with his tipping chin of smiles. His reflection looked upon a figure— prepping tea to his delight.
"You're up early, dear brother."
"And so you are, William... just in time to stare at the sunrise for your tea."
"I'd never fetch you before you could see me standing— awake, I'd suppose you wondered."
A fellow sibling shook his assertions, amusing to his delight, "Gracefully. You know how I come to see you awake quite a time..."
"Well, tea is a spot for my comfort... you made for me, thank you, Louis," he whispered his appreciation to him. Sitting down comfortably at his embarked velvet sofa, tugging his arse by the cushions with his spine postures perfectly well— a pipping cup by his hand as he took a sip.
William enamoured thoughts— through his reflection by the spot of tea. Eyes suddenly became misty— somehow relatively a new mimic mystery. Not mimic, but something to decipher.
"Have you checked at the other bank we brought in with our banknotes the other time we deposited? Louis?"
"Yes, Lilibark Uniondale? Is it, brother? What brings?" Louis asked calmly as he seamlessly bridged his glasses; properly.
"I assume the deposits you asked for were transferred there for transactions. Because the other bank you mastered nearly put a scare." He added, remembering the constructed plan of his brother at the previous event— hurdled many citizens.
"Alas, indeed..." it was never scorned to William's ideas that would create a toll of concussion, giggling about how no one has spoken of it since.
Lilibark Uniondale, a pristine bank afoot near their manor, is acknowledged as an estate owned by a known noble. The Hemsworth of Yorkshire. People ought to think they have an abundance of pennies to mention such; feasible enough with negotiable credentials. A handful of clerks, accountants, and staff were inside. Amongst them, priorities are the profitability and standard of financial shares, including assurance— a fortune. A modern strategy of monetary gains and investments lives taught nowadays. Which is the majority seizes to switch their profits. William adhered to the addresses, consequently. He did exchange good benefits from the stakes, as heard. Approved a new account to pursue demands of income. Observed— how keenly managed a prospect this bank can handle. Much to his curiousness. He still needs to learn more about the bank's background. Especially the owner who goes to their word of: "enabling both statuses to open their accounts." Merely gestures are a hint that made the mastermind indulge in deducing details.
"I'm certain they quoted 'enabling both statuses to open their accounts' means a bunch of definitions."
"Come again, brother?"
"No—," William heaved a sigh. Earth to his mumbling thoughts spoken out of his way.
There must be a hidden agenda to that remark.
"I have an order for you, Louis. Please bring Bond, Moran, and Fred along. All of you are in charge of checking my warranty today. The queue is today's due."
Chimes his morning smile— the blonde coveted his hands tucked in place of comfort. "For now, it's still early. I must nod off..."
"Very well. Don't be a bit laid off as you need much time to regain, awaken."
While the sun peaked through— alas, Louis followed suit with his older brother's chore. Him, departing the rest of the reports in his hands. He fetched his gang as ordered. There— meeting down the halls: a tall, stoic figure who stood above six feet. Former colonel Sebastian Moran. He dressed formally and eloquently to go to the bank just as in the previous event. Fred Porlock, a young lad of his awareness. Personal assistance, a messenger boy to his master, and espionage. He composes stumbling a brilliant disguise to form tricks as needed.
"Only you two? My word, where is Mr Bond? Have you called him?"
"He was with the old hag earlier. Maybe I should—"
Before the colonel could even fetch the other, there was a screeching halt below the polished floors. A loud incoming presence— upon their eyes met a panting blonde, hooking his grey coat. Effortlessly, he brushes his hair, fixing his ilk.
"Apologies, almost late as you would try to fetch me, Moran! So, are we ready?"
Louis reacted, eyes a bit hankering in a blunt manner. Thus, the blonde saw scratching the back of his head.
"I'll explain further details after an errand, Mr Louis. I'm sorry it took a minute or two. Let's go on."
The four left the manor as they wad towards the stakes— in the meets of the new bank estate. Lilibark Uniondale Bank. Walking passed a busy civilization of people, Durham is a straightforward society; people prefer to go by this location for solace and desires. Much not likely to compare London's dirty and busy environment. A place where the brothers would stay lay low from aside the capital.
When they arrived at the entrance— the bank's architecture was massive and articulate; the opening was remarkable. It is likely those in ancient Greece. The five pillars were sculpted and designed in Greek Corinthian patterns. On top of the pillars was altered. As the layouts of objects were replaced and stood up, a carved coat of arms was. Even at a glance— the top gate frames have a similar design. Their representation? Glancing at the outlines and objects of the coat of arms were significantly detailed through the inner corners and openings. These spotted the attraction of the people, probably alluding that the Hemsworths might have artistic connections.
They're putting in a lot of dignity and settlement for creating such a bank, as Louis was familiar with the structures. He's been here with William occasionally. It is to affirm the Hemsworths are reputable, judging by their stakes.
So much so that they're countless people coiling around to see more than what this bank carries. Hence, the four trek through, sighting every corner of the place. Impeccable.
"They have a lot to show", Louis pondered.
Not to mention every place feels as if it lies on its name. Namesake? Quite an ordeal— coming from them.
"No additional checking at the vault? Or wait? What did Will advise you to take us here?"
Bond promptly asked the other blonde, who turned at the centre, pausing his trace.
"Just the deposits he told me. There must be a queue around here. I'll go by the other departments. While I need you both patiently get in line."
Louis commands Bond and Fred to take the queue, whereas he and Moran will stroll the bank's area. This place is instead uniquely unseen, yet seemingly not.
"Alright then, we will go to the queue. Have fun "busying" the stroll."
Bond waved to them— then whistled at the place, "Wow, I never thought coming to a bank this fancy, don't you think so? Fred?"
"Agreed, it is. Now, where is the queue?"
They begin scanning the centre floor. Eyes watching every section they go as spying binoculars everywhere they're searching. Until Bond quipped to what he saw, the queue— immediately he and Fred found the deposit branch. A few people were designated as follows.  Astounding and manageable— the line of people is intact. They weren't packed and patiently waiting in line to get a call from a registrar. Through the counter where clients are accepting their deposits neatly. Well-reserved mannerisms, service, and eloquence towards time.
"I think they minister with a lot of professionalism. How properly do they work in such a prestige bank? Good worth? Hm, fascinating."
"I do quite have the same opinion as you, Fred. Maybe the bosses fed them well." Within the tone of jokes, the agent pulled aside his friend, chuckling.
"Come, I think we should be in line— they aren't many lads here."
The two gentlemen started walking straight towards the counter. Both Bond and Fred were greeted; with a bow. The blonde veered his fedora upwards, a polite nature fleeting to his gesture.
"Good day, Miss. May I request a check-up deposit?"
"To whom you're checking?"
"William James Moriarty?"
Heeded the registrar, she flitted to her post to see if the warrants scaffold was available to write for later. Louis has instructed him beforehand. He can authorize the cost of the signature in William's favour. Good to take notice as the two of them grin at each other while they wait.
"Here is the deposit you asked for— read first the fulfilment pay before you sign your contract; below right." The registrar broke their silence until a hand extended setting on a piece of paper, giving it gently to Bond for him to inscribe.
Bond reaches out a pen. That is positioned next to him over the counter. He jots his name below where it has written "signature" under the lines. Now, it is time to take the money.
"Oh, I see that you're done. Thank you for the assistance."
"Louis, you came! How was the tour?"
"Simply fine, I've got so much to chatter about what we found, is it Moran?"
I shall also report this to my brother. He probably has more presumptions to add later. There's a definite hunch about this.
Besides Louis, his partner, Colonel Moran— stood with his arms crossed between his pectorals, quietly nodding.
"Here, the money is sealed by this envelope."
Upon receiving the parched envelope, from afar, a herd of noise evoked the whole area. It alarmed the gang to turn overheads witnessing a man shouting at one of the accountants through the counters. Faces stand framed to be calmed yet in compulsory reactions. Judging by the man's behaviour, in particular. Louis thought of chaotic trouble.
I guess this is something scandalous in a public space like this. He concluded.
"Where the bloody hell are my banknotes? You probably snatched it all!"
"Please, sir, remain in your senses. We will inform our employers about this situation. If you must refrain yourself—"
"I have no time for waiting! Do you simply think that my impatience will test me?! This is the last check I had to go to! My blood is boiling with rage— you all must pay!"
The four were left with nothing to help the commotion down. Louis eyed the man's temper at the workers, as this could cost big problems. Uproar in inconvenience made the rest of the crowd look. His heart was beating horribly at an abrupt scene.
"Oh God— shall we help them, Louis?"
Asked Bond, worrying it might cause a quarrel.
"If we are to help, then..."
"I believe if you raise a fist or voice within this stake or to my workers. I'll handle you to the Yard for interrogation."
Words shunned— someone came. To a surprise, the voice hollered was coming from a woman standing between the man. Whom just passed towards; a demure and prominent lady intruded on their talk. Closely seeing her debating against a diminutive issue.
"Heh, and who are you to butt in, madame?"
"If you want the banknotes, I'll pay what you wanted as regard. I'm the one who is in charge. Now, please we shall talk about this privately with my employee. Just as long as you don't violate my policies. Are we clear?"
"Tch, a woman like you shouldn't be upheld. But, since you have quite an attraction— I will be kind to slide this off."
"My charms aren't worthy of your displayed desires." Spatted the woman as she stealth on her profession.
"Whatever you say so, tch. Your bank doesn't hold profitable accountability. So, be it with your words."
A scoundrel buff infuriated man stormed off, completely. Rest assured about the cases of rumours indulging inside. The woman from earlier who stood up to the employees bowed for an apology.
"My sincerest apology for my clients as it went inconveniently. We will try to break down this issue that happened. Please, thank you for choosing our services."
Turmoil has been lessening much to the lady's dismay. It brought me to the moment when the gang saw her stand up just now; a scoring one. This inflicted Louis and his group's peculiarities upon the woman, nevertheless. Her upbringing appears as it goes through her liberties.
"Who is she? I'm quite hesitant to approach her. That's a spirited ovation there." Said the blonde agent, an awed impression towards the lady.
"Maybe we can talk to her for once. If it's not much trouble, wouldn't it?" A glanced colonel spoke after him.
Louis follows a sigh, "Well, the least we could try."
"Excuse me, gentlemen. I see you all got a keen eye on me."
How did she notice—
"Pardon me for being rude. It was a catch that I already know."
"We may, sorry, if we ever made you feel uncomfortable—"
"Oh no, not to brag about it. However, I'm the heiress of this bank. If I'm not mistaken you guys saw what I did at that moment. Stressful, isn't it?"
She's very chattering, Louis described. Listening to her talk the incident occurred.
"Well, again I'm sorry."
"Not at all, I know clients can act mighty, demanding at some point— and entitled to their own will. You must not mind those people. We are only fetching errands here; a deposit."
The blonde remarked, stating his arrival alongside his group— all grinning at the lady's presence without interfering.
"Good, it was all thanks you've chosen my stakes. We will be handling our issue first. Glad to meet you, Sir-"
"Louis James Moriarty."
Worded the man, as he tipped his top hat.
"Oh, well then. I must be off."
Afterwards, the lady shortly left. A pleasing conversation, a short one of an encounter blistering the blonde's impression of her.
Charismatic, and demure, her aura is somewhat I cannot describe— alluring. Mentioning she is the heiress, probably an owner. A noblewoman. Simplistic attracted to her appearance as I thought that she belongs to the workers in charge of this running bank. How intriguing... I must tell this to brother.
"Hm, I wanna bump on the scenes. You've seen the girl in person."
In the coming response from the colonel— observing their momentum just now. Meanwhile, in front of him, Louis shushes the man before him not to spill something.
"Let's go back to the Manor. We have a lot to discuss with my dear brother. Also, Moran, you'll conclude what we've investigated here."
By the time the four men eventually went outside the bank. Louis's introspections vividly stick with his determination, but on what certain metier did he inspect back there? Furthermore his short time with the lady earlier, who is she? At last, arriving at the manor. They found Albert standing in the yard— together with Jack Renfield, their maestro. Also known as Jack the Ripper, formerly. Meeting them shortly after their visit errands, Bond came forth to explain details as the rest heeded inside. Louis appealed to Albert to uprising his interesting news brought from an event; this is indeed important. Hence his confession delivered to William may help to discuss.
"I'm pretty aware of this insight, Louis. Moran already went in— we should too."
"The portraits by the upstairs hall we both discovered the Hemsworths. I never saw them before as you do with my brother's meetings or any particulars. So, they're from Yorkshire, is it? Brother Albert?"
"Oh, their namesake holds a lot of their generations." Albert pressed the conversation, moving on with the other walking inside the manor.
"If I'm not erroneous about their background they come from a line of economic privileges, especially Duke Harrison Hemsworth's. A long format to talk about— in fact, they're sometimes appointed to the queen. That's why I barely greet to chitchat with the family. Although, his daughter—"
”My, my, going through the insights without my guard? How cunningly crude of you, brother Albert."
In time, abruptly the criminal mastermind was summoned, and he breathed a small laughing matter. Keenly smirking his brother aside with his hands folded behind him as usual; much to his anticipation. Welcoming his two brothers beyond the opened corners— standing in front.
"I'd suppose you could say that only the four of us are aware of Hemsworth's vogue of riches— to simply put... Well, lavish outcomes. Though, they're very private with their matters. As I've known to read about their lifestyle once in a bulletin: "Simplistic Nobles of England" hearsay. I'd find it very exceptionally reputable— not on the bad side whatsoever. I don't see any hints of malicious motives. They do a lot of charity work, I guess no wonder they built a bank."
"Yes, you are right, brother. Moran and I earlier discussed he also knew a bit of Hemsworth's background. Their reputations being the noble saints they said." Louis agreed as he proceeds with finishing his brother's words.
"To begin with I may conclude that their daughter by the name of Stephanie Cris Hemsworth. The only daughter of Duke Harrison brings so much image towards their stature. An independent and responsible, yet sociable woman; a socialite. She is named "Jewel of the Night" by the noblemen who attend banquets. She is always presentable. Although, I cannot simply say she is a threat. Much to what I've figured out."
William explained briefly to his brothers what he had known of this woman, Stephanie Cris Hemsworth. Born in Yorkshire, a dashing woman of her finest. She is recognized by their hometown being the precious mineral, as assumed she and Albert shared the same coloured eyes— but hers were much lighter than his pigment. A lot of people know her as a demure, but a quick-witted woman of her charms. It is said she handles any physical prowess taught by her mother— and is a lover of operas. Aside from that a half-French lady who used to reside and goes to a girls' school in Paris. Finally lives today back here in England; helping in Lilibark Uniondale Bank her father's business.
A charter of statements William inputs at the moment there was a space of uncertainties going over through his mind.
Be it with hope, I know the bank holds equity as I've seen commoners pursue to have their money profited with investments. Which is a great move from her father... Why do I feel something? There's still a missing piece to their motive. Even though I've heard they're quite a private family.
Do they hold the same key to idealization as us? Or are they an enemy of some kind? Battling of crimes? So much to discover paints many truths... Their quote—
"But, brother William?"
"What is it, Louis?"
"About their quote, I took notice of that utterance you blurted out of the blue that morning. "Enabling both statuses to open their accounts" was the duke's call. I picked my interpretation of equality. Could there lie they're alike to what we idealized? Or was there something else?"
"By now that you've mentioned. Who knows for a certain they might be? Well, I was going to head off to a tailor to fetch the suit I'd requested all of us for the upcoming ball 3 days ahead." William chimed, bowing down before he could leave the two.
"Thank you for the time to consult this report. I best be off."
"What do you think, brother Albert?"
"I don't want to amend the judgement, Louis. If there's a sign we will take a grudge. For now, our focused goal is the night killer. As William spoke last night, their next venue to hit their target is the queen's actual ball."
"I'm not certain, I hope their motive is not them..."
A cold sweep of Louis's sweat acted upon his shoulders. The tension between his morals and thoughts crumbled
"And you think to summarize the killer's target is the Hemsworth family? Possibilities... But we must stay vigilant. Nobles—really are their prey."
Beyond the dim night of Durham— a carriage parked in veneer at the bank's entrance. The stallion heaped, opening the cab's door appears tall, eloped and a postured gentleman. But it seems he has a company with him. Presented to proceed on their way in.
"I see this is where the new bank resided. Amazing, the design emblems such as attraction— see over the carved top of the pillars. Architects studied their coat of arms so well, don't you think? John?"
"I'm beyond astounding as we came here, Sherlock. Now, why are we here again?"
Questioned the fellow beside him, he released a scoffing manner. His brow shifted with cockiness; marching his way to meet up with somebody that caters for his interest. Perhaps, a bigger reason for help if he may guess.
"The odds, John. A lady fetched us to help her with a nosy client. But, I don't suppose liking at this time to consult their complaints. This is a nuisance." He diminished his words finally meeting the lady through the halls.
"Ah, I see you're the lady who gave me a telegraph. Pleasure, I'm Detective Sherlock Holmes and this is my trusty fellow, Dr John H. Watson."
With a slide of his hand tipping his hat— thus bowing at the lady. Before he could give him a handshake, politely greeted the lady. At the strike of the other's face when he took a glimpse towards the lady for the first time, his mouth agape. An awed, breathtaking beauty he probably had never seen.
"Likewise, this is my first time meeting you, detective Holmes. I'm excited that I've reached out— and Dr Watson. You look bewildered at some point—"
Sherlock turned over to his friend who was momentarily gazing out at the woman. He couldn't help but snap his friend out of the way. Immediately John awoke—
"Oh, pardon— umm I hope I'm not being rude looking at you. Miss—"
"Stephanie, Stephanie Cris Hemsworth. Dr Watson."
"You scoundrel shouldn't be eyeing over a lad like her! We are here to investigate—" the detective kid aside from them both interrupting the important mission much to his exclamation.
"Ah right, my bad, Sherlock."
"It won't be a while— just the soon as you're both good to go. Steadfast and stealth with the conclusions."
"It seems working with you won't be a hassle through my interrogations with your messy client, innit?"
"Yes, I'm truly positive."
Welcome, Mr Sherlock Holmes...

obligatory jgj performance ask
so glad you asked! i have so much to say about this one. all of what any of us have ever seen of john's moritz has been from the show's first few months which is maybe from a time of a more subtle and emotionally tortured moritz than we saw last night. i think john's moritz last night leaned a lot more into the audience reactions which ended up being a lot like blake's moritz, but the thing that made that so perfect is that when i felt the SECOND john really became moritz onstage and the moment when he really snapped. the second he said "okay, so now we do the play..." i felt every inch of pain that moritz is supposed to represent. it was such a breaking point that i was brought to tears for like the fourth time that night.
as far as his singing, he sounded absolutely perfect. his voice still carries so much raw emotion as moritz. the bitch of living was so energetic, and as i said before and then there were none was beautifully acted and performed. i don't think i realized the power his voice had until we got to don't do sadness, when the crowd cheered so loud that he missed his cue and had to take a moment to collect himself. his don't do sadness was so electric and full of moritz's pain and emotions. he put so much life into moritz which meant so much to me.
so yeah i kind of like him i guess

4 Underrated Musical Series you might never have heard of
Most of you know probably Musical shows like Glee and Smash, but there are plenty of musical series out there that don't get enough credit if you ask me. Here are 4 musical shows you might not know (yet)
Tumblr media
Girls5eva
This is a new show with Broadway legends like Sara Bareilles (Waitress), Andrew Rannells (Falsettos, Book of Mormon) and Renee Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton). Ashley Park and Erika Henningsen are guest stars. Yup, a little Mean Girls reunion. This show kinda gives me The Bold Type and Girls vibes but with a bunch more humor and songs.
Rise
This show didn't have many Broadway stars, but it did have a bunch of songs from Spring Awakening. It also stars Josh Radnor (HIMYM). It never got a second season, but the first season is definitly worth watching.
Fosse/Verdon
This show is about two Broadway legends. This show also has a bunch of Broadway actors like Lin Manuel Miranda, Laura Osnes and Ethan Slater. It also stars Michelle Williams (The Greatest Showman). It doesn't have a bunch of songs, but the story and the actors definitely make this a Musical Series.
Royalties
This is a web series, but that still counts, right. Darren Criss (Glee) plays in this show. The episodes are short, but the songs are great.

Entry 14: Groans of Increasing Discomfort
Heading back to the castle, it seems I’ve accumulated a ton of new buildings to buy. I can buy a statue of Mozu which probably costed more than her entire village, a ballista and shuriken launcher to use in castle battles, a bunch of puppets to give me nightmares (they fight for you in castle battles too I guess), a shop to buy new units (both generics and clones of the soldiers I already have), and a hot spring. Because fanservice. You can run into other units in there, everyone is in their underwear and blushing, half of the decisions that were made in this game’s development were solely for the sake of horniness, yada yada yada. I actually tried to leave and the game stopped me, because Sakura was showing up and it’s necessary to get that bath time with the teenage girl. The hot springs does have a use, admittedly, but it won’t become apparent for a few chapters.
Support: Lady Corrin/Reina
C: Corrin sees Reina talking to an old man and asks her about it. Reina explains that he reminds her of her parents, who cut her out of their life when she became a soldier. And also, apparently, don’t give a shit about her being the personal retainer to the goddamn Queen. Actually, wait, hold on. Where the hell was Reina when Mikoto got blown up? You know what? Her parents should be ashamed of her, she’s a terrible bodyguard.
B: Corrin tells Reina she should visit her parents. Which makes sense; Corrin points out that she’s an orphan and wishes for any relationship with a parent, no matter how strained. Reina tells Corrin that she became a soldier because she really, really, really likes killing people. Corrin volunteers to find out how Reina’s parents are doing.
A: Corrin tells Reina that her parents are doing fine. Reina retcons the last conversation by revealing that she became a soldier to protect her family’s peasants. Nowadays, though, it’s all about that murder.
Review: This one was fine. Corrin wanting to help Reina is a nice bit of characterization, but there isn’t much more to say about this one.
Now, you may be wondering why I referred to Corrin as Lady Corrin in the last bit. Reina actually has completely different supports depending on Corrin’s sex. Most characters have identical supports with Corrin, or if not that just minor dialogue changes (For example, Camilla and Laslow, off the top of my head). But characters like Reina, who can only support Corrin, get two conversations. I suppose it’s for the best, considering those characters would otherwise be incredibly out of focus as opposed to merely extremely out of focus.
Support: Lord Corrin/Reina
C: Corrin sees Reina carrying an apron, which weirds him out, because of the whole murder hobo thing.
B: Reina reveals her sheltered noblewoman housewife in training turned soldier backstory and says that the apron was a gift from her parents before they cut her out.
A: Reina says that her parents cried when she became a knight and that she keeps the apron out of gratitude for them.
S: Corrin, off screen, goes back to Hoshido to talk to Reina’s parents. Apparently they’re proud of her. And he asked to marry her, which she accepts, because she cannot imagine life without him. Apparently.
Review: So, these are kinda the same support? I mean, the actual words are different, but they cover the same information. It’s weird that they were split into two conversations. Whatever. The second one is better, because it gives this really fun characterization of Reina being a friendly team mom when she isn’t stabbing people so she can hear them gasp their last breaths. Also, it resolves the plotline. On the other hand, the S-Rank is really mediocre. Reina saying she relies on Corrin daily is ridiculous, given what we’ve seen. Overall, the problem with Reina is that she just has these two conversations. And one with Kanna, I guess, but that one is recycled from other characters. If Reina was a more fleshed out character that interacted with other characters, she might work as a character. But, as it stands, all she has is her recruitment and two mediocre supports.
Support: Hinata/Takumi
C: Hinata kicks down the door to Takumi’s room so he can tell him that he’s going to start a fighting tournament so he can beat people up.
B: Hinata beats people up.
A: Hinata reveals that he’s beating people up to cheer up Takumi, because Takumi looks happy when he cheers him on. I feel like he could have, I don’t know, asked Takumi how to cheer him up in advance instead of just assuming and doing something he said he didn’t want, but whatever. The two bond over Hinata beating people up.
Review: I think this one helped me hone in on why a lot of Fire Emblem supports don’t work. Supports are, by their very nature, just dialogue. So, when you get a support like this, that relies heavily on something happening, it ends up as telling not showing. That’s why the best supports rely on dialogue rather than explain something that happened off screen.
Support: Kagero/Saizo
C: Kagero and Saizo get into an argument over how to train royal guards, with Kagero pointing out that Saizo’s hard as nails “be ready to die for the monarchy” speech just stressed people out. Saizo blames the new recruits for being inexperienced.
B: Saizo endangers the life of his men to succeed on a mission and Kagero calls him out on it. Saizo points out that victory requires sacrifice and war is unforgiving. The two of them point out that they’ve had this exact argument again and again, and it’s the reason they broke up when they were dating.
A: Kagero and Saizo win a big battle together and admit that they work well together.
S: Saizo points out that their relationship failed because they kept trying to change each other and forgot that they loved each other. The two of them decide to give it another shot.
Review: This one has a much more solemn and reserved tone than most supports, which helps it stand out. It isn’t great, but it has a good tone and I actually don’t dislike Saizo and Kagero as a couple. Them being a flawed couple that broke up over their differences, then trying it again after maturing and becoming more rounded people is a lot more realistic than most relationships in this game.
Birthright Chapter 12: Dark Reunion
The gang arrives in Cyrkensia, a city in Nestra, a country that I forgot existed because this is the only part of the game where it is mentioned. Cyrkensia is a popular vacation spot with a big opera house that appeared in the intro.
A kitsune named Kaden goes up to the party and explains that he’s in town to repay a favor to someone. This introduction feels like when you introduce a new player halfway through a D&D campaign and they quickly explain their deal after walking up to the party.
Kaden introduces his friend Layla, who explains that she’s a singer at the opera house, but can’t perform tonight because her mother is dying. Also she’s singing for King Garon, the evil king who is on vacation a week after starting a brutal war. Azura volunteers to perform in Layla’s steed so the party can do some patricide. Now, you may be thinking, did the game do the stupid trope of having Azura and Layla look identical? Surprisingly, no, they didn’t. Everything else about this chapter is so cliche I assumed they would, but they actually remembered Zola has illusion magic that the party never uses. Also, because we helped the person Kaden has to help, he now owes us a favor, and will totally kill dozens of soldiers in a war he doesn’t give a shit about if we ask him to.
Kaden
Kaden is a Kitsune, this game’s equivalent of Laguz or Taguel from past games. He wields a special weapon called a Beast Stone that allows him to fight by turning into a big ass fox. His personal skill heals units who heal him. He’s a glass canon who does extra damage to cavalry, giving him an interesting niche. His human design is fine, but not remarkable. His fox design is cool, especially regarding the blue fire that floats around him; that said, the spikes on the legs are weird. Personality wise, he seems to be a go lucky idiot who stumbled into joining us.
When the party arrives at the opera house, Corrin notices Elise, who looks sad. Azura, who doesn’t look like Layla for the player, goes on stage. Azura sings the only song she knows, the magic one that breaks mind control, which makes Garon...groan in increasing discomfort, which makes me also feel discomforted. Also Azura does a bunch of crazy water magic, which is a bit extra.
Garon orders his troops to capture us, because Zola betrayed us. Gasp. Shocking. Zola does admittedly beg Garon to spare us. Garon kills him for even suggesting it, right in front of his young daughter, because Garon is a cartoon supervillain. Zola dies begging Corrin to forgive him and Garon calls Corrin weak for having sympathy. Takumi threatens to kill Garon, but Corrin points out that they need to leave if they want to live. Which is smart; Garon has ridiculously high stats.
This battle sees our units fighting on boats floating in the opera house, which is a cool setting for a battle. On turn three, some reinforcements arrive. Xander, who’s still pissed about the whole traitor thing. With him are Peri, a cavalier with cotton candy hair, and...is that Inigo? That’s Inigo, from Awakening. That’s fucking Inigo! What is Inigo doing here, and more importantly, why is he working for the very obviously evil bad guys?
There’s a Dragon Vein you can use to freeze all the water, which would make this level easier, if it wasn’t already a broken easy level. To beat this level, you need to get Corrin to a specific spot. Corrin can’t walk on water, so you need to fight through an onslaught of tough enemies. There’s just one problem: Hinoka or Subaki can carry Corrin directly to the end. I fought the enemies, because why not, but I didn’t have to.
I ignored Garon because he’s able to one shot literally every unit in my army, but I did decide to take on team Xander. Side note, I looked up Garon’s battle quote after the fact, and he says this to Corrin: “I may not be your father, but I will slap you down like a child.” I take back everything bad I ever said about Garon.
Peri, as it turns out, is a sadistic sociopath, because Nohr. Inigo...excuse me, Laslow, blushes when we stab him. And Xander steals Inigo’s famous crit quote from the Princess Bride.
Peri and Laslow went down easy, but Xander was almost as bad as Garon. Even with his bonus against cavalry, Kaden only did one point of damage per hit. I had to resort to the classic strategy of throwing disposable soldiers at him until he was weak enough for Corrin to Dragonstone.
This was a great map, with a creative setting, multiple ways to approach it, tough bosses, and an exploit that makes it completely skippable. Still, it’s the only Birthright chapter with a creative goal, so it deserves a little credit.
After escaping the opera house, Xander chases after us, despite being defeated ten seconds earlier. Elise gets in his way, telling him that if he’s going to fight someone, he should fight her. As Corrin runs, Xander warns that it is her destiny to fight him.
After escaping Xander again, Corrin finds Azura collapsed on the ground, exhausted. She’s going to die at the end of the game, isn’t she?

that evandra fic lmao
So it’s set in a sort of “kingdom au”, which is basically the same rules of modern day where everyone is alive but it’s a fantasy medieval period. It isn’t as smutty as my edawale and fryeway fics because evie has class unlike edward but there is sex in it eventually. 3604 words
Tags are: wlw, mention of animal death, a fuckton of kissing, cunnilingus, metaphors like that one lesbian sea shanty in odyssey (it’s a dyke/hozier thing), evie crushing big motherfuckin time, kassandra being kassandra
The view outside my modest stained-glass window taunted me as I sat nearly consumed by my studies. Ink I swiped over while writing painted my right hand’s palm and little finger indigo, smudging my forehead as I tried to soothe a fierce headache.
I stood and opened the window, leaning out against its ledge, feeling the breeze play with my loose hair. The crisp air blowing in from the alpines and lush forest gave me a welcomed shiver, a nice change in comparison to the stuffy room I had been holed up in all morning.
“I have got to get out of here,” I muttered, stepping away from the sights and wiping my hands and face clean with a handkerchief.
Abandoning my satin sleepwear, I slipped into a cornflower blue linen gown, tugging the most comfortable sandals in my possession on and descending down stairs of marble, my small travel purse in hand. A walk would do me justice afore I went mad in these walls.
Coming toward the palace mess hall, I decided to grab myself a canteen and loaf of bread seasoned with rosemary, setting these items in my bag next to my leather back journal and dirk. As I left the room and began to make my way toward the doors, my brother that thinks himself to be a jester with the rights of a noble cut in my path.
“Well, well, well! What’s this? The kingdom’s recluse of a princess is leaving her chamber?” Jacob chaffed. “Did the books tell you to give them some space, Evie?”
I rolled my eyes. He really never would understand that with nobility comes more than swordfights and feasts.
“I just want to go for a stroll, Jacob,” I replied, ‘course my reply came out like a hiss as I pushed pass him.
“Like, out in the garden?”
“No, a bit farther, down by the stream.”
“Oooh, an adventure you’re set on! Hope your books can protect you from bears and wolves,” he sneered.
I swallowed as to keep my temper, knowing he just wanted to get a rouse out of me. Turning around with a forced smile, I said to him, “I have a dagger with me, Jacob. How about you see if Arno needs pestering, hm?”
“Hmph, if you’re that desperate to be alone, enjoy your stroll, sweet sister!”
Jacob left and as did I, at last escaping the palace’s walls. I exchanged brief ‘hellos’ with the other noblewomen, Aveline, Elise, and her majesty Amunet, who were having a spot of tea and gossip under a grand willow tree. I strode toward the ivy strangled gate, then went forth venturing down the old river-stone path. Small finches and doves made songs overhead while egrets scouted for salamanders in the bank’s reeds. Squirrels darted in front of me as I headed for my long-time favorite hideaway, a tiny spring hidden by willows, oaks, and looming boulders. I could hear the faint call of its humble waterfall, teasing my skin that longed to stand under the gentle flow. A scenic cove, just for me and plenty to sketch while I lay in a bed of clovers, or, better yet, I could wade in the calm waters naked and let nature shoo my stress away.
But alas my daydreaming was interrupted by a frantic young buck knocking into me as it dashed across the stream elsewhere. I glared at the deer from my spot on the ground, rising to my feet quickly when I laid my eyes on what he had been chased by. A lean, taupe-coated wolf stalked out of the shrubs toward me, seeming to decide I would make and easier meal than the deer. My hand whipped my dirk in front of me and I stood my ground, clutching the blade in my sweaty palms and doing my best not to appear afraid, my heart beating wildly. The wolf went to lunge and I stabbed my knife into its fur, missing a puncture on the animal as I found myself more focused on avoiding its claws. The beast came at me again, pouncing on top of me. I held it back away from my face with my forearms, its teeth biting inches from my nose. The wolf had swatted my measly blade out of my hand from its last attack and from this angle I was beginning to wonder if maybe I should have spent more time sparring with Jacob rather than cooped up at my desk or in the library.
Just as things began to appear bleak, the wolf yelped and fell over, staggering to its feet with a fresh arrow lodged in its neck. Another arrow pierced its chest, giving me time to grab my dirk and finish the mad dog off, panting while my eyes scanned the vicinity for who had helped me.
A tall, muscular woman with scarred olive skin appeared from the bushes, adorned with garments crafted from animal hide I’m sure she fashioned herself. She replaced her bow back behind her, drawing near me with an out stretched hand.
“Are you all right, milady?” she asked, standing over me.
I took her hand and she pulled me effortlessly upright. “I’m, uh, I’m fine, thank you,” I stammered out, taking a step back from her as I felt my cheeks flush from admiration, thankfulness, and her closeness.
“That’s good to hear. Judging by your gold circlet and dress’ dye, you’re one of the princesses from the palace over yonder, no?” she inquired as she picked my satchel from the ground.
“Yes, I was bored and wanted to visit the spring a little north of here,” I said, taking the purse and setting my blade away.
“Might I accompany you, then? To ensure your safety, your highness?”
My heart fluttered at the mere thought of spending time with this heaven-sent Amazonian-esque woman. “Yes! Yes, of course! Oh, and please, ‘your highness’ is sweet, but just call me Evie.”
She smiled warmly, her honey eyes ensnaring my gaze. “Thank you, miss Evie. My name is Kassandra, should you be curious to know.”
“Then many thanks to you, Kassandra.”
We got to the spring in no time. Really, I would have likely been fine alone, but it was nice sharing the path with her while she explained that she was a mercenary, paid by a tanner to collect fox pelts. She was searching this area for the little vulpine creatures when she heard the wolf growling. At the hideaway, the ethereal beauty felt even more fantastical with Kassandra’s presence. She stared in awe of the surrounding area while I shamelessly watched her skin become dotted by the mist’s droplets coming from the falls.
She turned to me with that same charming smile but with childlike wonder in her gaze. “I’m sorry, your high—Evie, do you mind if I stay with you for a bit longer? Please, this place is one of the loveliest views I’ve ever seen.”
“Oh, not at all, Kassandra, I wouldn’t mind your presence. In fact, I have a rosemary loaf, should you be hungry and want to split it with me. It’s the least I can offer for your saving of my life,” I told her, doing my best not to appear desperate for her to stay.
“Really, Evie?” she was beaming from my answer. “I would love to share a meal with you!”
I couldn’t help but grin the entire time we ate together, her telling me that she came from the naval kingdom to the west and answering all the questions I asked about sea travel between bites.
“I’d love to go sailing someday,” I sighed finishing my half as she swallowed hers.
“Well, should your kingdom’s queen allow it, I would gladly petition to take you out,” she said, then hastily continuing with, “um, sailing, take you out sailing.”
It’s a wonder a woman could have such stunning charm, vast natural knowledge, and a kindhearted soul and still appear human by slipping up on her words. I leaned against the oak behind where we sat, giggling at her embarrassed expression. “I’m sure lady Amunet wouldn’t mind.”
Kassandra seemed glad to hear that, standing and facing the spring. “Um, would it be too awkward if I soaked in the water, miss Evie?”
Of course, I wouldn’t mind you being naked, I thought, Who would? “No, it’s fine if you do, Kassandra, please, go right on ahead.”
She thanked me, though it’s not like I own the spring and can dictate who is allowed to use it. I took my journal out of my bag to sketch the dragonflies dancing across lily pads and the rippling surface, but mainly to give Kassandra some privacy while she disrobed. Half way through drawing the body of the insect, my eyes wandered away from the paper and in her direction. She flipped her fur shawl off and unclasped her undershirt, revealing her back. Her skin was visibly sweaty, she must have been exploring for a while before coming across me. Next, she stepped out of her boots and pants, laying her clothes on a stone by the spring. Kassandra waded slowly into the water, moving her arms out to feel the cool, clear liquid swirl around her fingers. I couldn’t look away despite wanting to give her space, after all I had just met her. I found myself flipping to a blank page and sketch her figure as she wiped her hands over her body. I knew it was wrong to draw her nude without her consent, but I wanted to keep her image forever in my mind when I inevitably had to return to the palace and my dusty books. She unbraided her hair and dipped her head under the water. She flung her head back, her hair slinging sprinkles of beads across the surface.
I felt my cheeks warm. It was like watching a nymph play in a river, and I felt her aura pulling me toward her. I set the journal away and took off my sandals, Kassandra turning when she heard me rustling, the sunlight glistening off her wet chest and drenched locks. I gave a friendly smile to make myself feel less of a creep. “I think I might join you, Kassandra, it is terribly humid out and the spring is taunting me.”
It’s true I was being taunted, but it wasn’t by the spring. No, this woman’s body was like a siren’s call, awakening lust with its silent song only your soul could hear.
“It does feel quite refreshing, Evie.”
I lifted my gown up and over my shoulders, pulling down my panties and folding them next to my shoes and purse. Kassandra moved to help me into the spring so I wouldn’t slip, though her standing so near with my hand in hers made me feel light headed, her image clouding my mind. Her chivalry is nice and all, but this might get dangerous if she keeps it up.
The water embraced me, though I ached for the hand I was holding to clutch me instead. My thoughts flooded my common sense as I developed a dazed look in my eyes, staring down her wet frame. To rest my head against her neck, to feel her lips trail down my bosom, to press myself against her, to become one in this secret place. It was immoral of me to think of this as I had been betrothed to another who I loved, but he could never compare to her grace. She just held herself with an air of confidence, like she’s had eras of practice with women of all backgrounds, like she was a mythical creature that comes out whenever a woman heaves a melancholy sigh. I wish a gorgon would come and petrify us in this state so I could stand locked in Kassandra’s eyes with her for the next century. Better yet, to be a stone Kassandra carves so I could feel her press into my body day in day out and smooth me over and over until she’s done with me and I can stare at her without her notice.
“Uh, milady Evie, your hand.”
Her voice startled me and I flicked my eyes down, realizing I was still holding onto her. I released, blushing and staring into the water away from her. “Oh, oh my, I’m sorry about that.”
God, I’m such a dunce sometimes.
She chuckled. “It’s quite all right, dear, I don’t mind you staring.”
My eyes widened. She knows I’ve been staring at her this entire time, I thought, a hot feeling settling in my arms. Of course, she knows, I hadn’t managed to keep my eyes off her for long since she saved me. I’m such a harlot, I haven’t known her for longer than an hour, what am I doing?
“Kassandra, I’m sorry I’ve been lost on you for so long. I know I’m being rude, after everything you’ve done for me in this short time, I really shouldn’t be acting so stricken right now,” I was chagrinned, my desire for her drowning my senses.
She placed her palm to my shoulder, reaching around with her other hand to tilt my chin towards her, snagging my eyes in hers yet again. “Evie, I swear to you whatever you have been daydreaming about is nothing compared to what I yearn to do for you. You’re stunning, you’re intelligent, you’re sweet to me despite our class differences and short time being together, and you being ashamed of yourself for your mind makes you appear restrained. Let me help you release your tenseness; I promise to give you the attention you need.”
I was shocked, to say the least. That this, goddess, would want to treat me so. “Kassandra, I—”
She took both my wrists in her fingers and pulled me near. “Evie, I would build a shrine for you, I would sacrifice myself if it meant to stay with you forever in the afterlife, I want to worship you as the nobility you refuse to accept yourself as. Please, allow me to do this for you.”
This has to be a lucid dream, there is no way this woman is real, she can’t be serious right now, I thought. “Kassandra, you’re lying, you can’t actually want to—”
She leaned in and kissed me on my lips, holding me still for a moment before pulling back. “Did that feel like a lie, miss Evie?”
I’ll be honest, it didn’t. It felt like I had just passed away in my bed and cherubs were leading me to heaven. I closed my eyes for a moment then looked up at her. “Do that again. Everywhere.”
She shown a grateful smile and leaned into me again, our lips fitting together as she undid my hair and tossed my circlet to my things. Kassandra and I made out, our tongues touching at first on accident but then just because neither of us cared. We backed toward the small waterfall, it cascading down us as Kassandra ran her fingers through my hair. Losing a battle with my self-control, I found my arms wrapping around her neck and tugging her against me while I leaned against the wet stone. True, the shower and rocks were freezing, but her touch warmed me so, I could barely notice. She led me away, our lips not once parting, and laid me across a large horizontal stone that stuck out of the spring.
She pulled back for us to get proper breaths and Kassandra held my face in her left hand. “Evie, may I touch here?” she asked, gesturing toward my pelvis.
I nodded. “I did say everywhere.”
“Yes, of course, you’re right.” She lowered her face toward my neck, her breath tickling me. “Everywhere.”
She smelt like petrichor, so close to me, and I knew that today she’d ensure that, every time it rained, she would come to my memories. Her hands held my hips as she trailed her lips down my body like I had desired them to earlier. Kassandra licked at the water that clung to my breasts but didn’t stay fixated on them for too long like a man would, she knew exactly where she needed to be.
Her mouth continued down to my naval and then she spread my legs, a firm grip on both of my thighs. I moaned softly from her teasing kiss she left on my clitoris, her hot breath exciting me. Kassandra’s tongue started at the base of my vagina, coming slowly back up to where she had kissed. She circled it with the underside of her tongue, never lingering too long on one side. Her right thumb came down below her chin and rubbed my perineum, pushing down on it as she closed her lips around my clit. I felt my hips twitch; it had been so long since someone else did this for me. My hands reached down and clutched the back of her head, pulling her closer. I heard her chuckle, muffled against me. She knows that she has me now under the control of her mouth, flicking her tongue up and down like she was flipping a switch.
I felt a sense of hiraeth at her mercy. She had me biting my bottom lip, she could easily make me come quickly but she wanted to make sure she made this feeling last as long as possible. Never has anyone ate me slowly to savor their meal, it’s usually because they’re unsure what to do. I tangled my fingers in her chestnut hair, tilting my head back to moan, her sucking making me gasp.
“Oh, fuck,” I whispered under my breath and she decided it was time to finish me off.
I gasped, my pelvis tingling, my finger tips feeling like they had been burnt, they felt numb but not in a painful way. My toes curled, my clitoris trembling as she kept licking at me, not letting it come up for air. Arching my back from the stone, I wrapped my legs around her shoulders like I had before with my arms. I released her from my thighs’ hold after I steadied my breath and she came to kiss me again, her body over mine. I swung my arms and legs over her, pulling Kassandra down against my skin. She set herself so her thigh would rub against me again, taking one of my hands down to feel her. Kassandra was wet too, from more than the spring, I could feel her pulsing in my palm. I rubbed her clitoris between my fingers, her moaning into my mouth and her hand that get her propped up over me nearly slipping. It made me happy to know I was making her feel as I did earlier. She kept my hand steady on her, guiding my fingers to tell them exactly what she wanted. She backed off from kissing me as she came from my hand, her voice sounding so delicate doused in pleasure. Kassandra pressed her body against mine and kissed me again, this time I could tell it was to make up for her mouth not being able to say “thank you” at the moment.
She stood slowly and I sat up on the stone. She laughed, pointing toward the buck from earlier standing at the spring’s edge, sniffing at us from afar. “It appears we have a peeping tom.”
I giggled, moving to my feet, feeling that Kassandra had stolen part of my heart. The cool water around my pelvis made me shiver again, just not because it was cold. We waded hand in hand back to our belongings, the deer running off from us approaching. Kassandra and I got dressed and she kissed the top of my head.
“Would you mind if I walked you back to the palace’s gate, my princess?” she cooed in my ear.
“Of course not,” I entwined my fingers in hers. “And if you stay in the area, I’ll see about having you knighted in this kingdom, too. You deserve it after proving your ‘worthiness’ today.”
She snorted from her laughter which made me laugh too, leaning against her as she led me back down the path. The poor wolf from earlier was being scavenged by an eagle, which chirped at Kassandra as we passed it. I moved off of her when we neared the queen’s demesne as to not appear to any onlookers that I had been having a little affair while my fiancé was away. Luckily for us, the only person that saw us was the visiting Auditore prince, and he has plenty of scandals of his own to deal with.
I hugged her goodbye, Kassandra assuring me that this wouldn’t be the last time I see her, especially after I pointed out which window was mine with a wink. She kept her eyes on me until I had entered the palace and from outside my window, I could see her petting the eagle. She waved goodbye and walked off into the forest she came from. That night as I laid with my face in my pillow, I thought of her and decided to flip through my rough sketches of her. In my bag I discovered she had left a glove in my bag alongside one of the bird’s speckled feathers. I held them close to my chest, knowing that this night’s memory would last a lifetime, if not longer, then set them next to me in my bed, dreaming of Kassandra and all the things she did for me.

ok so assuming somehow circumstances permitted, consider a scenario where the awakening trio finally opens up about their past. how do you think the royals react? does it change the dynamics between them @ all? i feel like it would @ least make the trio feel closer to them, like more comfortable going to them if they wanted to talk about any past-related issues (trauma, nightmares, etc.) Also i cant help thinking of odin just dramatically being like "well the enemy was approaching so I (1/2)
decided to cut the bridge and stay behind”/Niles and Leo: yOU WHAT/Laslow: no its ok I decided to stay behind with him I would never leave a friend to die alone/xandar: D: im sorry you wHAT? ALSO I think about that line from ur fic where odin is like “that was our second dragon” bc one of the trio def says that and everyone just :O idk I just feel like the sheer amount of horrible things that happened to the trio would be shocking even for the nohrian royals bc it IS a lot (2/2)
Anon, u and i are always on the same wavelength, so I’m warning u to buckle up now, because this is gonna be a long one.
I’m going to preface this by saying I don’t know how Owain and Inigo could have had that bridge experience if the Trio in FE14 is supposed to be the same as the kids you recruit in the main FE13 storyline. The bridge experience is specifically used for the FE13 DLC in an alternate reality where those kids never go back in time (i.e. those are a different timeline’s children). The Owain and Inigo we know in the main FE13 never had that experience, as if you do deploy them in that DLC, they will comment that this did happen in their world but things were never that bad and they never had to cut the bridge. The Trio in FE14 is pretty heavily implied to be from the main storyline.
And yet???? Odin still is afraid of bridges because of that event???? I think I asked that once and somebody said it could just be the trauma of watching his alternate self nearly die that’s affecting him because he realized how badly things could have gone. And that’s possible and probably the truth. But I don’t know for sure and I never will and I think about this a lot. (Selena and Laslow reference Harvest Scramble and Hot Spring DLC, so they’ve gotta be the main timeline kids who fought with Chrom)
For the sake of this answer, I’m going to pretend the Trio in FE14 is the same as FE13 but they did have that bridge experience first-hand. It’s not canon, I think, but it just makes everything easier to think about (for me).
Moving on, I think the only time the Trio would admit they were from another world would be after Anankos was defeated because it wouldn’t have to be so secret anymore (even though it’s also like?? technically illegal from an inter-dimensional standpoint, lmao). Straight up, after Anankos is defeated, I think the exhaustion and happiness would get to them, and I just think it’d be really funny for Selena, who was the strictest about keeping their status a secret, to be the one to let the truth slip.
(I’m probably??? Gonna end up putting a lot of tiny snippets of things in here to expand on them more and here’s a super short, rushed one now:)
The dust settled. Corrin stood at the far end of the hall, chest heaving. The minion Selena had been battling had disappeared right as she swung. Now the rest of the army was picking themselves off the ground.
Selena pressed the tip of her sword into the cracked floor and leaned on it. Gods, she was tired. But Anankos was gone. She could feel it in the air. She knew what defeating a dragon was like. The crackle, the energy, the shadow hanging on all their shoulders— it was gone. Anankos was gone.
“Hell yeah,” she muttered to herself. There was dirt in her mouth, ew. “Killed another dragon. Did you see that, mom?”
There was no response from her mother, of course. She was dead and gone, and even when she wasn’t, she was still worlds away.
Selena did get a response from someone else though.
Something shift to her left. The sound of an ax hitting the ground. Selena turned.
“What,” Camilla said flatly.
And then Selena tries to cover up her tracks and only makes it worse and in the end, it doesn’t matter anymore, so the truth comes out. Laslow and Odin never let her live it down.
I feel like the Nohrian royals (besides Elise) always kinda knew? On some level? That the Trio was Different. Because they’re not exactly subtle. (Not that their minds jumped to “inter-dimensional travel”, of course.)
Odin says stuff like “sometime in the past… or, strictly speaking, some time in the future…” and “Risen… uh, animals from my home.” Laslow, to Xander’s face, says, “Good luck finding me with a fake name and appearance.” He says that!!! I In their Supports!! To Xander’s Face!!!
(Xander: “wHAT”)
Like??? They’re not… good… about lying. They’re not absolutely terrible? But their cover-ups mostly seem to be changing the subject or going, “Uh, please ignore that.” These idiots. I love them.
Selena is probably the best about it? In her Support with Corrin, when asked if she’s from Hoshido, she says, “When did I say I was from Hoshido […] I never said I was from Nohr either” (or at least something like that.) She’ll admit she’s not from either kingdom but she doesn’t say anything other than that. So she’s dropped the least amount of hints, probably. (There are probably more examples for all three of them but I can’t think of Supports besides the Nohrian’s rn.)
But they arrived together and fight together and they talk like they’ve known each other for years sometimes, and if Laslow and Odin have something going on, she absolutely does as well, so. Come on.
The thing is the Nohrian Royals have to Suspect. They have to know the Trio is super hiding their past. They’re together all the time, and while Camilla/Leo/Xander may sometimes talk about their past, it has to get obvious over the years that the Trio doesn’t. At all. Niles actively tries to find shit out and can’t find anything, for goodness sake.
But the Royals are pretty respectful about it? They don’t hound the Trio about their past and seem to love and trust them as they are anyway? But that is something they have to ignore, and when the Trio says something that blatantly can’t be ignored like “Risen” or “I have a fake name and face” they have to ask. Both out of curiosity and obligation because they are technically the lawmakers of the land and they can’t ignore everything. Just be semi-decent at pretending and Leo/Xander/Camilla will too.
Reactions/Changing Dynamics
Even if Selena spills the beans immediately after Anankos’ death, I don’t think they sit down and say everything right then and there. Everyone is tired. Things need to be done. I guarantee after Laslow and Odin hear Selena accidentally said some of the truth, they look at each other and go, “Yeah, I guess it’s fine now” and then they don’t say anything more until they get back into the Deeprealm that night.
(Camilla+Leo+Xander is gonna get called the Royal Trio now because their names are too long.) The Royal Trio still trusts the Awakening Trio, obviously, but they have questions. And Anankos is defeated. Does that mean the war is over? Technically yes, technically no. Nothing is official yet. Lots of explaining to do. But the Awakening Trio has now obviously let loose this secret they were trying to keep secret and the danger is technically over and they always talked about leaving after the war is over, so—
So technically the Royals get a bit nervous. They hang around the A. Trio or request them to stay in their line of sight all afternoon, even when there’s other stuff to be doing, even when it’s easier to split up and clean up and take stock of things, and eventually the A. Trio does call them out on it (individually). They do their chores and after-battle prep and take care of the injured and the Royals listen to messengers and make plans on what to do now, what kind of treaties to make, and then when the evening comes, the A. Trio comes back just like they promised they would, looking antsy and tired and a little nervous and they all sit down in Corrin’s private quarters bc this is Top Secret stuff and Corrin has to listen anyway and then the A. Trio talks.
They don’t go too in-depth about Grima. Not yet.
But they talk about the Hidden Truths DLC and how human Anankos asked for their help. They talk about why they were disguised and why they couldn’t say anything about it and how they nearly went to Hoshido, only to find out they had to go to Nohr instead at the last moment and they only knew they were looking for a stolen child.
(The fact they nearly went to Hoshido instead of Nohr makes Xander frown and Leo scowl and Camilla cling to Selena bit more, even though Hoshido and Nohr are still kinda newly friends now.)
“So do you look like this permanently now?” Leo asked, curious. “You said the human Anankos changed your appearance. Will that ever wear off?”
Selena, Laslow, and Odin all shared a look. Eventually Odin shrugged.
“I’m not sure,” he said. “It hasn’t shown signs of waning yet. Dragon magic is quite strong. Even if we returned to our home world, who knows if our parents would even recognize us at first.”
The last part was a joke. Selena smacked him on the shoulder, and Odin winced.
“Don’t say that,” she scolded.
Odin glanced over to Laslow, looking sheepish. “Sorry.”
Laslow didn’t seem to notice.
“I suppose I have grown used to how I look,” Laslow mused. He absently touched his hair. “Though I look less like my mother than I once did…” He noticed Xander watching and flashed a smile. “Not that I mind very much anymore, milord. It’s all in the past now.”
Camilla brushed her fingertips against the end of Selena’s hair. “I’m afraid I can’t quite picture you as a blonde,” she said.
They don’t talk about Grima or their childhood or anything too personal at that meeting. It’s not relevant to the safety of anyone, after all. But later, when they’re alone and not so forced to talk, they might.
“She died early on, I guess,” Selena said, not looking at Camilla at all. Her face was turned towards the window, but she didn’t seem to notice anything outside. “When the war started really picking up. She’d be gone for weeks and weeks. She was the absolute best.”
Camilla could see it now. Selena, tiny, waiting by the door for her hero mother to come home, day in and day out. A hopeful thing that eventually grew resentful.
Or maybe it wasn’t like that at all. Maybe Selena got tired of waiting early on. Maybe she dragged her father around the house and stomped around the yard and pretended not to care when a Pegasus Knight failed to appear from over the hill.
“And then she didn’t come home,” Camilla guessed.
“And then she didn’t come home,” Selena echoed. “And I became the second-hand soldier in her place.”
Camilla pursed her lips. She wanted to scold Selena for talking about herself like that. But the mood was heavy and it was Camilla’s line of questioning that had brought them here in the first place, so she kept her opinions to herself. For now.
“She’d be proud of you,” Camilla said.
Selena looked at her, face hard. “You’re not my mother.”
“No, I’m not,” Camilla agreed. She’d never had a mother who would be proud of her, and she didn’t want to be Selena’s. “But I love you dearly anyway.”
Selena’s face softened. The far away look left her eyes.
I think the Royals and Retainers respect each other a lot already and after several years of war they’re pretty appreciative of one another, but also there’s a new understanding that comes with “Oh, this was your life before we met.” There’s also a tiny bit of fear too, probably; the A. Trio has told them several times, “Hey, don’t be surprised if we leave when the war is over.” But it’s one thing to know it and another to Know it and suddenly it’s not just a nebulous leaving but “oh, there’s a whole other world and family and friends waiting for you somewhere else” too. And how they’d probably never see one another again if they left.
“That first year was the worst,” Laslow said. “I talked about this with Odin once, and he agreed. We had never killed people before. It had never crossed our minds that we would have to.”
Xander nodded, digesting this. He couldn’t imagine a world where he’d never have to kill another human being for the safety of those he cared about. But, he supposed, if nearly all the humans were dead anyway, that wouldn’t be as much of a concern.
Laslow caught himself. He straightened and visibly brightened. Laslow wore false cheer like an ill-fitting skin.
“But enough about depressing topics,” he said. “Have you been to the tavern recently, my lord? Yesterday I saw the most beautiful—“
“Laslow,” Xander said sternly.
Laslow shut his mouth.
Xander thought carefully about what he wanted to say.
“Laslow,” Xander said again. “You do not have to pretend anymore. I know this much already. You’ve lived through three wars now, beginning from your birth. You do not have to hide the pain that causes you.” He placed a hand on Laslow’s shoulder, and Laslow looked up at him, eyes wide. “I am here if you ever wish to speak about what’s on your mind.”
There was a pause.
“It’s not a pretty story,” Laslow said quietly.
“Tell me anyway,” said Xander.
Laslow did.
And yes, eventually they even talk about the bridge incident. It probably goes a thousand different ways, but in this world it goes like—
(hey, some vague suicidal talk tw in this scene, so feel free to skip)
“Why would you do that?” Leo asked, equal parts surprised and angry, and unable to keep the emotion out of his voice. “Cutting the bridge down, dooming yourself—
“This was before I met you,” Odin reminded him gently, sounding much too serious and not at all himself. “It was. Different, then.”
“Not so different that you couldn’t think of another way to solve the situation than cutting down the bridge,” Leo said, voice terse. Why was he so upset? Over something that had happened—or rather, hadn’t even happened—years ago. Leo’s heart skipped as though he were afraid. He’d told Odin and Niles to be careful with their lives a thousand times before. “So willing to martyr yourself. Like you didn’t even want to—”
“My lord,” Niles cut in.
Leo’s mouth shut with a click. He had figured it out just as Niles had, though not soon enough.
“I thought I would do something good and my friends would be safe, and then I would be done,” Odin said, looking at the floor. “I thought I wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. And everyone else would be fine.”
That and a hundred other reasons, Leo guessed, but in the end they all seemed to come back to that one. To wanting to be finished with a dreadful world, even if doing so meant… disappearing.
Odin had been… what then? Fifteen?
“I am sorry,” Leo said, much more quietly, and he meant it. For a lot of things.
He was so grateful to have met Odin now. That they had both made it this far, across worlds of doubt. The thought blew Leo’s mind on some level, but he focused on the here and now.
Niles breathed in through his nose.
“I get it,” he said, looking right past Leo and to Odin.
Odin looked at him as if he were wondering if Niles really did get it.
Leo didn’t. Not really. He’d never been in a position or lived a life like that before. He wanted to try, though.
(Azura was nearly in the above scene but I cut her just for time’s sake. Let it be known she does think about Odin’s response when she asked if he was afraid of heights though.)
So they probably do Talk About Things and it’s Rough. But it’s good too, and the A. Trio is more open and comfortable with each other in public and also they connect with the Royal Trio (plus retainers) more personally now too that they can discuss things like this as well. Like. It’s not easy? They do have nightmares and trauma and there are some things the Nohrians can’t understand on the same level Selena/Laslow/Odin can understand with each other but they do try hard to be there and available to talk. And in a way, like Laslow says, it does feel like a different lifetime some days.
Okay, so I feel like I’ve talked for 8,000 years and I don’t want to make you wait on a response, but I also feel like I’ve only been super general here, so. If there is anything you wanna expand on or focus on/question a bit more, definitely feel free to follow up! I have an exam tomorrow but this is probably all I’m gonna think about all day, tbh. (anon, u ask the Best questions)

So after a long time, I finally made a new unit, she isn't a MU but an individual character herself, I even found ways for her to be integrated into all 3 routes and be playable. Warning, long post! (And I don't know how to put things under a cut, so sorry for this being long!) Name: Nayeli Class: Wyvern Rider Backstory: A headstrong and peppy resistance fighter from Windmire but moved to Cheve as a young child. She was born into a family of Knights, but her parents died in action at the hands of a mage, and she was nearly killed by one herself. Nayeli was going to be a knight, but ended up joining the Chevois resistance because she couldn't stand the Nohrian Oppression any longer. Is the most of afraid of magic. Chapters she appears in: Birthright: chapter 13 (ally unit only, not playable) Chapter 14 (playable) Relevance to plot: she appears in Chapter 13 with Scarlett and Ryoma as an Ally unit as backup for the rest of the Chevois resistance. In Chapter 14, she appears after 3 turns, and has a chat with Scarlet, claiming that she had only just been informed at the start of the chapter and had made haste to catch up. Scarlet then introduces Nayeli to Avatar and says that she makes a valuable asset. From there, the battle continues as normal. Conquest: Chapter 10 (as enemy) Chapter 12 (appears at the end of the chapter, wishing to join the group Chapter 13 (becomes playable) Relevance to plot: she appears in chapter 10 as an enemy, as Scarlet commands Nayeli to help defend Takumi. However, when given the chance to deal a finishing blow on the Avatar or another unit, she couldn't do it and significantly weakens the attack (doing no damage as a result). At the end of the chapter, she ends up fleeing to report what happened to Scarlet. At the end of chapter 12, she had found the avatar and asks to join them. She reveals that because she had spared the group and fled, she had been banished from the Chevois resistance by Scarlet, and she ended up hearing that the Avatar's intentions were actually different from what the Hoshidans and Chevois resistance thought, and decided to join the group. This allows her to become playable in chapter 13, and if she is in gameplay and goes against Scarlet, the two actually have a conversation, which leads to Scarlet branding her a traitor, even though Nayeli tries to explain. She ends up leaving for a bit because even though she was branded a traitor by Scarlet, she couldn't bear to see her execution. Revelation: chapter 13: (as enemy) Chapter 17: (playable) Relevance to plot: she's an enemy in Chapter 13 alongside Scarlet, helping her out with Ryoma. She ends up having no will to fight after hearing Azura's song, and leaves with Scarlet and Ryoma. Nayeli comes back in Chapter 17 to assist Scarlet and the others after having gotten lost, joining their cause (thus becoming playable). In chapter 18, she arrives a little while after the battle is over and is grief stricken when she learns about Scarlet's death. Skills: Lunge Strength +2 Rally Strength Stats: As unit: Revelation: Strength: 20+2 Resistance: 3 Magic: 0 Health: 30 Speed: 18 Defence: 20 Luck: 15 Base level: 5 Birthright: Strength: 19+2 Resistance: 3 Magic: 0 Health: 29 Speed: 19 Defence: 20 Luck: 15 Base level: 2 Conquest: Strength: 23+2 Resistance: 7 Magic: 0 Health: 30 Speed: 21 Defence: 22 Luck: 17 Base level: 6 As enemy: Strength: 21+2 Resistance: 5 Magic: 0 Health: 27 Speed: 20 Defence: 20 Luck: 16 Base level: 5 Supports: Romantic: All males (except child units) Other: Her children Camilla (Conquest/Revelation) Hinoka (Birthright/Revelation) Scarlet (Birthright/Revelation) Sakura (Birthright/Revelation) Elise (Conquest/Revelation) Nyx (Conquest/Revelation) Azura (all) (F) Avatar (all) Quotes: My Castle "I wonder who dropped this? Maybe I should try to find the owner." (Item) "Let me have at anyone! I can take 'em all on!" (Surge) "There, all done! Nice and shiney, now!" (Weapon proficiency) "Hm, maybe a new accessory wouldn't hurt anything." (Accessory gift) - "Aww, (Avatar) you sweetheart! Thank you!" (Accessory gift given) - "Hey, this is nice! Thanks (Avatar)!" (Accessory gift give ) - "Ah well, I probably would've given it to someone else as a gift anyways." (Accessory gift refused) - "Eh? This is definitely an... unusual gift... but thank you anyways!" (Accessory gift: bath towel) - "Ah, thank you! You didn't need to get me anything though." (Friendship birthday gift) "Hey, (Avatar)! Care to spar?" (Idle) "Good day, (Avatar), nice day today, huh?" (Idle) "Hey avatar, care to go to the local town and help people?" (Idle) "Hey, thanks for being a good friend!" (Idle) "(Avatar)! How are you today?" (Idle) "Wow, your everywhere today! Be sure to take breaks though, okay?" (Idle) "Oh, hi there! I'm Nayeli, welcome to our fort!" (Visitor) Asking - Normal "Hey, I'm curious, what usually occupies your free time?" (Hobby) "Hey. Let's team up in the next battle! Nobody would stand a chance against us two!" (Team up) Replying - Normal "Me? Oh, when I'm not helping people I just like to care for Mersy! She's a real sweetheart." (Hobby) "Absolutely! Nobody'll know what hit them with the two of us together!" (team up) Asking - married "Hey, please be careful out there love. I don't want to lose you, it'd be really hard on me." (Promise) "Hey, sweetheart! Just wanted to say that I love you!" (Love) Replying - married "Aw, (spouse). I promise I'll be careful, but don't exhaust yourself worrying, okay?" (Promise) Asking - Child "(Child), let me know if you need anything, okay? I wouldn't mind spoiling you!" (Gift) "Hehe, spending time with you is so much fun, (child)! I hope we can continue to spend this much time together!" (Spending time) Replying - Child "(Child), you don't have to get me anything, just being with you is enough of a gift for me!" (Gift) (Child), let's spend some time together! I wanna make up for all that time you spent without me." (Spending time) Private Quarters Friendship "Hey, thanks for inviting me over!" (Invite) "So, what are we going to do today?" (Invite) "Hiya, (Avatar)! What did ya need?" (Invite) "Aww, you two are so cute together!" (Invite -married) Bonding - "Hey, we should do this again sometime, this is fun!" did they do it as like. a real production just will everyone onstage? like how was it staged?
Tumblr media
it was all generally kind of like what you see here, which is during the bridge of touch me. the cast stayed seated onstage for the entire time and would stand most of the time that they sung, often doing at least some of the original choreography (like lea's movements during mama, the entirety of the mbn dance, john's kicks during don't do sadness, etc). they read through the entire show which was such a pleasant surprise! some scenes were just performed in place and others, like the beating scene, were completely the same as the original staging. it was honestly not a whole lot different from a fully realized production.

Styles & Co - Part 7
Previous Parts found HERE!
My eyes open and my head feels hazy and confused, I sit up in an unfamiliar bed, lost and dazed.
The last I remember is the whist airport, Harry's long arm tugging me along as our fingers laced together. I was right behind him, tremendously bleary-eyed and doing my best to keep up with his accelerated pace.
Over twenty-four hours worth of travelling doesn't go down well with me.
I pet my hands on the bed, attempting to locate Harry, my heart racing as my frantic hands struggle to find him close to me. "Harry?" I push the covers off me, exposing the empty side of the bed, beginning to feel a little panicky.
"Elle, what's the matter?" I hear his voice request, my eyes unable to see where he is.
The light flickers on and Harry is standing in the doorway of a bathroom, "Harry, where are we?" I breathe, still baffled and unsettled.
"The resort, relax." Harry discloses, crawling on the bed and pressing a caress to my forehead.
I take the moment to take in a deep breath and take in my surroundings. "What time is it?" I doubt, a little mistaken for time right now. Harry snickers, finding it interesting how I'm a little out of it.
"Seven in the morning, baby." He acknowledges while getting off the bed and pushing back the neutral curtains, permitting natural light to shine into the bedroom. Harry turns the lights off and gestures for me to get out of bed while wandering out of the bedroom area.
I accompany him, entering a small room before he opens a door, my eyes become attracted to the rich bluish water.
I step out, gaping over the enchanting outlook of the glistening cerulean water.
A romantic retreat in an over-water bungalow, thatched-huts on stilts line flawlessly overlooking a clear lagoon with striking green mountains behind them. Pure paradise. "Oh, my." I gasp, my eyes transfixed by the delightful scenes.
I did not expect Harry to book us a getaway at an over water-bungalow resort, perched over the crystal-clear waters on stilts; fanning out from a lush private island. Breathtaking is the only word suitable to describe such beauty.
"This is beautiful," I gasp, completely hypnotised.
My eyes shine toward Harry and he responds, "not as beautiful as you, go back in and get some sleep. We have a long night ahead of us." He grins, smoothly charming me and awakening small butterflies in my stomach.
"A long night?" I challenge, his enrapturing, loam-grey eyes shimmering, his lips forming a straight line as he yet again nods.
"In more way than one." He flirts cheekily, and I playfully hit arm.
"Don't be cheeky," I urge, considerably relishing his cheekiness, there's something about the way he smirks and the way his eyes narrow down on me that attract me.
"I've got a few things to do, my love. But, I'll be done in a few hours so we can then start celebrating New Year's, Eve." Harry informs me, reminding me that it is indeed New Year's Eve.
I lean up and kiss him, tenderly pulling away, promptly investigating, "What are you doing?" I ask.
What could he possibly have to do while on a vacation with me?
"Just gotta double check things with the resort. Get some more sleep, you'll need it." He again gleams, causing me to chuckle yet again. Cheeky, I like it.
***
Harry's eyes gaze at my body, my dress hugging me in all the right places, his tongue licking his lips as he straightens his tie. "You, my dear, are so divine." He gawks, his words are soft and gradual, almost as if he didn't know which words to use.
I give him a bashful smirk, my eyes gawking at his attire.
The man could wear a paper bag and still be the hottest man around. "It's going to be a long night," Harry murmurs against my lips, not being able to resist my temptation, "in more ways than one." He continues, ruining my lipstick as he lures me in for a deeper kiss, enthralling me, like always.
I pull away, his thumb pressing against my lips and fixing the mess he produced, "it'll be long." I agree, my eyes radiating into his, "especially for you." I smile, taking a step away from him, confusion taking over the expression on his face.
"How?" He clears his throat, using his own thumb to wipe away the lipstick smeared across his lips.
There's something about a romantic bungalow over the water that brings out the extra romantic and teasing side of me. Making love is great in our own bed, but even better when romance is heightened over a gorgeous turquoise lagoon.
With a devious grin, my eyes flicker up at Harry, "I'm not wearing underwear," I answer, stepping outside the door, entering out onto the extensive boardwalk where he has to behave himself.
He closes the door behind him, his eyes burning into me, his mind perhaps thinking of devious ways to get me back to our room before midnight. "Elise, you're very, very naughty." He murmurs, his hand intertwining with mine, guiding me away from our perfect bungalow. My heels echo against the wooden boardwalk, the noise of the salty ocean echoing a delightful, relaxing sound that is like music to my ears.
We walk hand in hand making our way around the retreat, finding the lovely restaurant Harry chose for us to dine at tonight, a luxury he emphasised on for our New Years celebrations.
We are welcomed politely and immediately escorted towards a table outside in a secluded area where only a few other couples unobtrusively dine. I admire the glass bottom flooring, attracted by the unique dining experience offered. Harry graciously pulls my chair out of me, a gesture he doesn't get a chance to do very often.
I give him a smile to show my appreciation, taking the seat and looking down at my feet, watching as fish swim below. I smile at our waitress, my eyes peering at Harry as he studies the menu, paying no attention as I gawk at him while I am completely captivated by his appearance tonight.
He sits charmingly in front of me, an attractive navy blue button-down covering his flawless skin, so effortless, yet so charming. He finally looks up and he smiles, "sweetheart, what do you want to order?" He inquires, a sigh escaping my lip as I think of inappropriate thoughts regarding him.
I highly doubt ordering him with a side of wine is suitable to say while perched at a dinner table. I lick my lips subtly, diverting my attention to my menu, "wine, please." I clear my throat, my eyes promptly scanning the list of delicious wines the restaurant has to offer. "White wine of your choice," I inform him, turning the page and reading the main course menu that is full of many delicious plates.  It's almost too hard to choose.
Harry's eyes sparkle, a small smirk becoming noticeable; wine can sometimes make me a little frisky, and cheekier than usual.
"Elise, what did you do while I was out?" Harry begins a conversation while overlooking the menu himself. I shrug, remembering how I did absolutely nothing. Jet lag is a bitch to me.
"I slept. What did you get up to, Mister?" I challenge, unsure of what exactly he did while I was relaxing. He never did elaborate on what he had to do.
"I had to take care of a few things." He unconcernedly counters, gesturing for our waitress to collect our order.
The waitress politely orders our wine before starting us off with an appetiser of Harry's choice. I raise a brow, fixated on Harrys eyes as they try to avoid contact with mine. "Elle, figure out what you would like to eat." He motions down at my menu as I continue to stare into his emerald eyes.
"What did you have to do, Harry?" I adamantly; however, I respectfully challenge Harry, not wanting to start anything while at dinner, although the fact that my boyfriend went missing while on a beautiful island is considerably sly. Surely there isn't too much he could have possibly done that's entertaining without me.
Perhaps he went to check out the bar?
I wouldn't mind, he knows that. But my curiosity is intrigued with finding out what he got himself into. "I had to make some calls back home to Anastasia, she has things to do for me." He briefly elucidates my question, giving me quite the monotonous answer.
Surely Anastasia would much prefer a little time off while it is New Year's, Eve. "Harry, give her time to her family." I graciously command before he changes the conversation entirely, deciding he wants to discuss things other than business for a change.
That's quite the surprise.
"Elise," Harry distracts my attention away from the delightful wine that was just re-poured for me. I look up and smile at him, watching as he leans back in his chair, his hand digging into his pants pocket. "Darling, how much do you love me?" The question rolls off his tongue effortlessly and cheekily, his eyes shining as I cock my head slightly to the side. I love this man quite a lot, no other man has caught my fancy ever since I met him.
There's not a man on earth that could possibly take my attention away from the man sitting right in front of me. To say my love for him is infinite would be far too cliché and mushy for my liking so I will settle for loving him on occasions. "I only love you, sometimes." I gracefully beam in a joking manner, "what did you do, Styles?" I immediately raise a brow, unsure of what he's managed to do that he needs to be reassured I love him.
Usually, Harry asks me this question when he wants something, or he's done something that could perhaps bother me, or it has to do with business. "I haven't done anything. So you love me, sometimes?" He informs me, he confirms my own words, with a grin, I agree.
"On some occasions, yes," unsure of what it is that he's going to spring on me.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's about to tell me that he has to fly back to London for some bloody business thing that's gone wrong.
"Your Christmas gift arrived." Harry lowers his eyes to his lap, a weird comment to roll off his tongue.
I was expecting something along the lines of "baby, I have to fly back to London." Or "baby, I have a business deal and you won't like it." Generally, he doesn't challenge my love for him when he abruptly wants to hand me some sort of belated Christmas present. "Harry, you said you were my gift." I remind him of the exact words he told me on Christmas morning.
*** flashback***
I find myself tangled within the sheets, my boyfriend's legs over mine, his arm wrapped tightly around my torso. It's around nine in the morning and he's yet to leave the bed, his perfect body has been nestled beside me the whole night, not moving once for anything, not even for the buzzing sound of his phone. "Harry, Harry wake up." I tenderly nudge him, pulling him from his peaceful slumber, groans escape his dry lips before his eyes immediately open.
"Elise, what's wrong?" He murmurs tiredly, pulling me even closer within his secure grasp.
I considerately wiggle from him, pulling him further from his sleepy state as he props himself up on his forearms, "baby, what's the matter?" His hoarse voice inquires, uncertain as to why I'm waking him and pulling myself from his secure grip.
"You're late for work," I murmur, not wanting him to rush away too suddenly. I'm selfish, I want his body against mine, but I know he has things to do. He looks at me for a moment, that cheeky grin waking along with the rest of him.
"My love, it's Christmas. You asked me to take the full day off, remember?" He presses, leaning over and placing a soft kiss on my cheek.
"You took the day off?" I request, finding my body moving closer to his, nestling into him perfectly.
"Yes, you said all you wanted for Christmas was me. So, here I am, sweetheart." He cutely announces, moving to wrap his arms around me as he lowers himself back into the bed. "I'm all yours for twenty-four hours. Do as you please." He relaxes, his voice getting deeper as he becomes sleepier.
"Do as I please?" I cheekily whisper in a teasing tone. He hums against my skin as he places sloppy kisses on my neck. I chuckle cheekily, a few ideas coming to mind, ideas that I don't need to express vocally.
"But, wait until I'm not so sleepy, I really need sleep, baby." He adds, causing me to chuckle further on this attractive morning. "What's my present? You know yours." Harry sleepily murmurs, beginning to get comfortable with his arm wrapped around me, his legs tangled with mine again.
"You'll find out tonight," I inform him, leaving it to his imagination to figure out the rest.
*** end of flashback***
Harry shakes his head, again looking down at whatever lay in his lap, "Elise, did you really think I wouldn't get you anything?" He softly questions, leaning closer to the table, I give him a shrug.
I wasn't concerned about a materialistic item he may have gotten me, I told him what I wanted, and he gave me twenty-four hours of no work, no phone calls, no texts, no emails, nothing.
He was all mine, of course, once we escaped the family Christmas- he was all mine.
He brings his hand into view, a small red Cartier box in his hand, "If you don't like it, I'm sorry. But, I saw you on the website." He informs me, flicking the box open to reveal a rather impressive bracelet.  "Oh, my." I gasp and he carefully takes it out of its position in the box, gently taking my hand and placing the bracelet on my wrist, clipping it into place. A perfect fit. "Thank you, it's so lovely." I gawk, exceedingly appreciative to be able to wear such a beautiful rose gold bracelet that glistens in the lighting of the restaurant.
Harry tries to refrain from buying me jewellery, many times he has voiced his opinion on preferring for me to pick it out myself and him just swiping his card. He's not a fan of purchasing jewellery, he only does it on rare occasions or when there's a business event approaching and he desires to have me show off a lovely set of diamonds— something I don't do often unless it's specifically asked.
*** ***
We find ourselves sitting on the sand, hearkening the noise of the waves crashing as my own giggles get lost within the crashing waves, "shhh," Harry laughs, quietening me with a delicate kiss on my lips.
"What? You don't like my giggle?" I humorously challenge, my feet burying themselves in the delicate sand.
"I do, very much. But it's just for my ears." He murmurs, lightly brushing his lips against mine, a teasing motion that is beginning to take its toll on me. "Sweetheart, are you a bit cold?" His voice distracts me from my eyes gazing into his, the cold shivers running through my body reminding me of the sea breeze that whistles around us late at night.
I give him nod, debating whether to graze my hands over his body and to press my lips to his or not. "Here you go," he slides his jacket down his lengthy arms and carefully drapes it over my shoulders.
At times he can be a complete sweetheart when he wants to be.  I appreciate seeing the difference between boyfriend Harry and CEO Harry, he seems to get his ties crossed between the two. "I love you," I grin, pressing a kiss to his delicious lips before he can even respond back to me.
He gently pulls away, a smirk prominently pressed against his lips, Harry presses his hand mildly to my cheek, cupping my face as his eyes radiate into mine.
"I love you, too." The words roll off his tongue melodiously, bringing to life the butterflies in my stomach.
Being able to be carefree with him is absolutely wondrous, to be able to lie on a beach right before midnight, listening to nothing but the waves against the shore, the distant sound of music and restaurants still bustling, and feeling the cold sand between my toes as Harry presses sweet kisses to my lips is one of the most relaxing and darling things to experience. There are no business calls interrupting us, no texts or a grouchy Harry pissed off with his employers, it's strictly just the two of us and I wouldn't want it any other way.
"It is close to midnight," Harry reminds me of the New Year that is close to embracing us within the next few minutes while we lie under the stars, with the waves echoing along the shore.
I give him a nod, my hand mildly pressing to his chest grasping his shirt carefully, "kiss me," I command persistently, narrowing my eyes on his.
His grin widens while his emerald green eyes glisten in the moonlight, radiating charmingly as he leans down and brushes his lips against mine, leaving me wanting more. "I know you can do better than that," I chuckle, my fingers smoothly drawing at his shirt.
He hums an mhm, knowing he can do much better than a simplistic tickling brush of his lips with mine. "Savin' the good kiss for midnight," he notifies me, immediately glimpsing down at his phone, "there's a minute left, love." He enlightens me, my eyes concentrating on his lips, my body yearning the taste that he allows.
The countdown begins and the sound of early party poppers mimic from the restaurants, a few cheers echoing as well.
Harry glances at me with a prominent grin. He gently pins me on my back, his body hovering over mine while I press my brazen hands to his broad shoulders. We both hear the ten-second countdown begin and he takes it as a signal to lean down and take bold possession of my lips, his tongue intertwining with mine as our bodies inch closer, my heart beating faster as my arms wrap around his neck, leaving no space between our bodies.
The cheers of the New Year ringing in echoes resoundingly, fireworks beginning to explode as we continue to stay intertwined with our lips. He tenderly pulls away, leaving me wanting more as usual. "Happy new year," he hums, letting out a small breath as I beam up at him.  One year down and many more to go with him.
"Happy new year." I smile, "now c'mere." I tug at his shirt, tugging him in for a romantically intense kiss, my hands unable to stop themselves from travelling up and down his body.
*** ***
It's four in the morning when the sound of Harry's phone continues to echo, pulling me from my slumber.
I mildly push him, wanting him to turn it off and allow me to sleep.
We've only been asleep for about an hour and I'm very eager to continue dreaming. I feel Harry move within the bed, pulling the covers as he leans over for his phone, "this better be important," he unkindly answers the phone, his voice deep and full of sleep. "What do you mean? Is there anything you don't fuck up?" He grumbles, sitting up in the bed, distracting me from falling back asleep. "I am not even in the bloody country! How the hell did you manage to compromise my business' integrity?" Harry snaps, raising his voice even further.  Something tells me the start of this New Years is not going to go as planned.
His business at times can definitely be a damn moment ruiner, particularly at four in the morning... Four hours into a New Year that is meant to bring us pleasure and God knows what else.
"Elise, we need to go," Harry commands as he pushes himself off the bed, turning the light on.
"What?" I dispute, shielding my eyes from the fluorescent light, considerably grouchy that I'm being roughly awoken. Again!
I rub my eyes and sit up on the bed, taking note of Harry reaching for the suitcase. You've got to be kidding me right now. We literally just got here and we have to leave because of business.
"Elise, I need to go back and fix things, we will be back in a few days." He explains, forcing his clothes into the bag while I stare at him.
"Are you getting up or not?" He questions, irritated and extremely ill-tempered as he tries to grab clothes and do something on his phone. "No. I don't want to leave." I shake my head, having no desire to go back to London just to fly back in a few days. I doubt he will even want to make the flight back here once he reaches London.
He will end up too consumed with his work that he will disregard the trip. "I don't want you here on your own." He shakes his head, throwing his phone on the bed out of frustration, letting out a heavy huff.
Harry takes a deep breath, his hand running through his hair before pressing to the suitcase. "I'll stay," I notify him, going against his wishes and not moving from the luxury of the bed.
"I don't have the time to argue you, fine. Book me a flight, please." He gestures towards his phone as he paces the bedroom up and down. I grab his phone and aid him in making things easier for him. "If you need me, call me. I don't want you here by your fucking self... Just come with me." He shakes his head at the thought of me not leaving with him.
"No, you brought me here for a vacation and now your work is getting in the middle of it." I shake my head much preferring to stay in a tropical place- after all, the vacation is paid for so I might as well relish in it on my time off, it is not like I have anything else better to do on my time off.
Well, that of course, is beside contemplating Logan's proposal, but for right now I much prefer to pretend that he, along with his proposition does not exist. "Things don't go to plan. I have work here to do, too!" Harry raises his voice, "I have a client to meet and now I fucking can't because one of my employees fucked up while I was gone." Harry continues with an ill-tempered tone, thoroughly annoyed and frustrated.
"So this was a business trip?" I dispute, taking note of his comment of having work to do here, too.
Now things make sense, he had absolutely no reason to abruptly fly us to a tropical island, he did this for business and it just happened to be a gesture to satisfy me wanting him for the New Year.
"Damn it, Elise, are we going to argue about this?" He grunts.
"No." I sigh, deciding not to make him any more irritated than he already is. "I'll meet your client," I suggest, surely it can't be too hard to meet a client and tell them whatever it is Harry needs to tell them.
"And what will you do? I don't need any other problems right now." He mutters, not seeming too fond of the idea of my suggestion. If he was to give me the right briefing I doubt I would fuck it up for him.
"Have faith in me, damn Harry I'm not entirely useless. You have taught me a little bit of the business world." I cross my arms, my eyes narrowing down on him while he zips up the suitcase.
With a heavy sigh, he responds to my idea, "Okay, I'm sorry. I'm just tired and irritated." his voice sounds lower and collected, a clear indication he is doing his best to stay composed and not take his frustration out on me; something I admire about him, he always does his best to stay composed and not get too riled up at me.
"Look, I'll meet your client and tell them you're ill or something, you tell me everything and I'll do it," I reassure him.
"I don't know, Elise," Harry sighs, thinking about my proposal, "You'd be meeting a businessman, a strong, intimidating man, who probably won't take you seriously," Harry informs, only causing me to roll my eyes.
"Oh, really?" I raise a brow, already not being too fond of Harry's choice of client, if he won't take me seriously then he isn't worth the time of day. "So, basically because I am a woman doing what he clearly thinks is purely a 'mans' job, he will not take me entirely seriously?" I grumble, looking at Harry as he thinks of the suitable words to muster up in a response, "Remember I am your girlfriend and you currently are not talking to me as a CEO, but as my boyfriend." I calmly remind him, just to make it clear that what he says perhaps might piss me off if he uses his 'CEO' choice of words.
"I will leave this all up to you, if you think you can handle it, I will trust your judgement. I will prompt you from the airport and email you things. Oh and by the way, I exclusively disagree that it is solely a 'mans' job as you declared," Harry responds as he throws on a t-shirt over his tanned body.
"Good answer," I nod with a smile, pleased that he did not state something irrational out of frustration and irritation.
"Mhm, okay, I will call you when I land and all that shit I am obliged to do, so you don't think the worst." He walks around the bed and comes over to me, pressing a delicate kiss to my lips, "Now, don't get carried away and get whisked off your feet by some hot guy on the beach that buy ou drinks." He jokes with a small chuckle, plausibly trying to convince himself that he is perfectly okay with me staying here and defying his wishes of travelling with him to London.
"I will try, but I can't promise anything." I playfully tease, hushing him with a kiss so he doesn't respond. With a heavy sigh, he pulls away from me, my lips curling into a pout as he leaves my lips bare.
"Have a safe flight, I love you, sometimes." I wink, finally noticing his lips curve into a small smirk, irritation no longer being prominently known.
"I love you too, on some occasions, behave yourself." He clears his throat, shuffling towards his suitcase and pulling it behind him as he paces closer to the door, he turns on his foot, for a moment he wordlessly stares over at me with a tortuous grin.
I put aside the unsettling feeling amongst me and give him a small smile including a nod, gesturing that I have not changed my mind and that he needs to hurry to catch his flight.
Without further ado, he takes a breath and steps out, leaving me unattended in our bungalow.

Note
do you have any expectations for the documentary? something you wanna see in interviews, something from the original show etc
i am working on a bingo for it rn which is pretty much my predictions but i'm mostly hoping that a) we get some never before seen (backstage?!) footage from 2006-2009 and b) that my interview makes the cut... im hoping that since there's so much emphasis on the show's effect on young people that i (who looks like 12 at best) will make it in there at least for a little bit lol. and hopefully not sound stupid
