You removed your hands from her eyes.

She looked around and saw you had decorated the living room with small decorations. A stack of her favorite movies and shows was on the coffee table.

Y/n: Happy birthday, Lizzie.

She looked back at you smiling.

Elizabeth: Thank you, baby. I love you.

Y/n: I love you too.

The two kissed before heading to the couch to watch her favorite movie.

Labels

Sometimes labels were good. Michael was protective of his siblings. He was the one who packed their lunches and read them bed time stories. He was the one who told off his friends when they picked on his brother, he was the one to shove away a hand about to tug on his sister’s hair. He was protective. He liked that. 

Sometimes labels were neutral. Michael was the problem kid. He didn’t care, though. He was himself. Bold and beautiful and flawed and hurtful. He leaned against brick walls and smoked until his lungs ached. He forgot homework assignments and flipped off teachers. He also called out the people who creeped on girls, even when the school refused to. 

Sometimes labels were weird. Michael was a bully to his brother but he loved him more than anything. His sister too. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. It was only harmless teasing. Nothing more. 

Sometimes labels were accurate. Michael was the least favorite child. His father adored Elizebeth, she was his little princess. His mother doted on Evan, he was so shy and sweet and undeniably good. Michael helped raise his siblings. He took his father’s abuse when his mom wasn’t around. He was the experiment. And he was a failure. 

Sometimes labels were bad. Michael was scary. He constantly showed up with bruises and cuts from fights. He would walk into homeroom with a scowl and bandages. He had a bad home life, everyone knew that. They didn’t know what to think. 

He was a murderer after all.
