Back in the day, when I'd watch The Good Wife, I used to say "I would watch a spinoff for every one of these characters." It took a lot longer than I would've liked, but we finally got a spinoff for the best one. Elsbeth is like a watered-down version of Poker Face (complimentary) and I have a feeling it will eventually become a comfort show like Monk or Psych.
This Elsbeth show is pretty good. I've been avoiding a lot of crime drama, but I've wanted a woman detective show I could enjoy for a very long time now. I really liked Stumptown but covid killed that one after the first season. Elsbeth is neurodivergent and weird, and she's not an arrogant jackass like so many protagonists of these shows tend to be. She's a very positive person and I thought that might annoy me. However, Carrie Preston has the right acting ability to pull it off and I found myself smiling while watching. I'm a bit upset the next episode isn't until April. It's like CBS is trying to kill this show already.
