Delivery guy Simon pulls up in his piece of crap ford car, grabs his bright orange just eat bag from the car, slamming the door shut as he walks up to your house. All black attire and sporting no mask, never does during deliveries after being told by his boss it unnerves people you can’t wear that man.
You’re already there before he rings the doorbell, opening the door and giving him a bright smile. Eyes full of hunger, you stomach growling as you inhale the smell of McDonalds. After a shitty week at work you just wanted some junk food to binge on and there was no way you were cooking.
Simon clears his throat out of his temporary freeze, “Here y’a go love.” His deep gravelly voice has your focus off the food he’s picking up and holding out to you in an instance.
You actually look at him and fuck he’s gorgeous. He’s got a couple scars and his nose is crooked, like it’s been broken one too many times for it to be fixed. 6ft 7 at least, he’s built like a damn ox, there are scars on his arms too. If you could even call the both of them that, they’re just as huge as the rest of him. Graced with veins and stretch marks from where the muscles have grown bigger.
He’s a whole ass meal, forget the McDonalds. You’d happily eat him for dinner, just as the thought crosses your mind your gaze shoots down to the giant bulge in his trousers. Your mouth waters at the sight and you swear you see it pulse behind the fabric.
Simon happily stands there letting you, fuck you gorgeous little thing in a tank top and short shorts, eye fuck him. A smirk growing on his face as he watches your hungry eyes dart all over his body.
“Hungry love?”
You blush so deep at his words, cheeks and ears burning hot as you mumble out, “Starved.”

Thought of the day (long rant): This isn't me proving Fintan is superior, but this is me proving Fintan is superior and is the main villain of KotLC.
At some point, it's mentioned Fintan was a Councillor, and his ability was banned sometime when the Ancient Council was around. This means he and Fallon Vacker may have worked together on the Ancient Council before he stepped down.
His cache (which I just KNOW he opened one if not more secrets) contained the forgotten secret of Vespera, so why not have Elysian in there as well. After all, the Ancient Council is the one who locked her away.
Kenric's death wasn't accidental--Kenric knew he was in Fintan's way of finding Elysian and had gotten too close to exposing the Lost Cities' biggest secret. Why else was a map of Elysian in Kenric's cache?
Fintan kept saying something was missing when he was using the noxflares, and Marella figured it out and opened the "portal" to Elysian. The only way I can think Fintan would know that is he was on the Council at the time they locked Elysian up.
My point is: Fintan is the overarching villain. He knew all along who Elysian is and what she can do BECAUSE he opened his cache, and he was trying to either find her himself or get someone else to find her for him.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any information!

I love keefe but if unraveled was going to be about him anyway then Gisela should have died in stellarlune so Vespera and Elysian can be the doomed Yuri I know they are

Elysian Theories
Elysian's Powers:
The current known trait of her ability is being able to stop a person from using their ability. Additionally, that includes being able to stop multiple people from doing so as Sophie, Maruca, Marella, Fitz, Keefe, and Gisela were immediately cut off from using their abilities. We do not know the duration of their power loss, but the closest thing to this instance is when Grady Ruewen mesmered the Council into slapping themselves. That was short lived, but involved twelve people being controlled, in comparison to the six people here, adding to the plausibility of that many people being controlled, even if the nature of the ability itself is very powerful.
The specifics of Elysian's powers include flicking off a switch inside of the person, shutting down their unruly emotions, and clearing their vision, which can be generalized to clearing their emotions like a reset button. In contrast to Sophie's reaction, Fitz appears to get a headache from the loss of his telepathy, which could be due to the fact that Sophie is the moonlark and has an unnatural defense built in that might make her reaction easier to manage. Still, she has reacted similarly to Fitz when around humans, so that is not as likely.
As for Elysian's nature, she is described as a "figure in a gray cloak" who "[steps] out of thin air," likely blinking as Sophie does when playing base quest in the beginning of the series with Biana, Keefe, and Fitz (Messenger 728). Additionally, she says, "I am the power source you're all here looking for," which can be seen as cocky or just plain factual (Messenger 728). Either could add to her character, making her arrogant or almost numb, like an empath, although that does not necessarily matter right now.
For the actual theory element of this, Elysian's power appears to relate to illusions in the mind as she seems to put up a wall between the person and their ability. The most notable illusionist, Vespera Follend, expressed the need to keep Elysian locked up, which could be due to prior knowledge, perhaps forgotten secrets that were not necessarily removed from Vespera, who might have already been put in jail at the time and essentially forgotten herself. The only other ability close enough to creating illusions is a flasher, but considering that the ability was one used to find Elysian and release her, I doubt that she has that ability, since the people who locked her up would not want her to be able to break out of any section of her prison. Therefore, Elysian has elements of an Empath's ability, which is further proven by how Keefe's combined polyglot and empath abilities allow him to control people through verbal tone and emotions. Elysian did not speak until afterwards, so the tone is likely not part of how she works, but the emotional side of the empath very well could be.
Similar to the shows Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, Elysian appears to be able to disrupt a person's connection to their ability, much like chi blocking. Considering that ancient minds are practically impenetrable, she would be able to put up mental shields in her own mind (with the assumption that she would be an Ancient). Additionally, Elysian's ability extends beyond her own mental shields, like the shields against telepaths and empaths, as seen by Fintan and Gisela (although not an Ancient, she hid her true emotions and thus her lies from her family who consisted of empaths). Elysian can put up a mental shield between a person and their ability. Her genetics were likely a hybrid of an inflictor, telepath, empath, and/or mesmer. While Bronte is the only known inflictor, the genes likely appeared earlier, at least the elements of what developed into his, and they possibly remained dormant in other people, but not necessarily in Elysian.
Why Elysian was Locked Away:
Her ability is clearly dangerous, which would cause the other elves to be hesitant of her. Elysian likely came before the pyrokinetic ban as that would be the first moment that an ability like hers would have been necessary and possibly why Kenric would have sought out Elysian, becoming weary of the ability and wanting a failsafe that could temporarily, if not permanently remove the ability and therefore remove the problem. There is not something that necessarily suggests that Kenric would want to remove the pyrokinesis ability, still, he did search for the woman. People do not look for a power source without a plan of how they could use it, and for a Councillor in charge of protecting a world that did not even know it needed to be changed, Kenric Fathdom had a lot of reasons to go searching for Elysian.
Because stellarlune has become such a big part of the series, Elysian likely experimented with this as a younger woman, and she likely found a way to use that as her own way of getting permanently enhanced, removing the need of that ability in order to make her extremely powerful. That would have made her a target to the Council, who would want to know that they have absolute power, but would never be assured of that if she was able to roam free. The prison was a way to safeguard themselves, and the Council knew that none of them had a power that strong.
How Elysian Pulls Stellarlune and Legacies Together:
Shannon Messenger did not originally plan for Keefe Sencen to be a character in her book series, but since then has clearly embraced his role in the series. His mother, Gisela, has no clear connection that would allow her access to the knowledge about Elysian, so I am going to get a little far from reality in this section of the theory and say that Elysian was part of Gisela's family tree, specifically her mother's side. Those who were related to Elysian likely had two primary choices; they could try and forget that she ever existed because of how jealous they felt when they remembered that she had such a powerful ability and they did not, or they could continue her work, keeping everything related to her and stellarlune as they passed it down for generations to the bright children in their family line who they expected to continue the work without telling others. Through this, the family would have learned the time that the stars would align, allowing for the location of Elysian to be accessible. The family would have passed this down slowly, likely waiting until they were a couple hundred years old and wanted to essentially retire from the work. At this point, they would likely pass down the knowledge of Elysian to their child, who would be in the mid hundreds at this point.
The only exclusion to this tradition would be Gisela Minette, a girl who was so promising that she manifested with two abilities. There are two version of this that could have occurred. The first would be when Gisela was a kid. She manifested as a polyglot first, so her mother told her to hide her other ability, which she manifested at home, from the Council, and even her father. Young Gisela would have been trained extra hard in her polyglot ability by her mother, but only watched her father whenever he conjured something, trying to copy the ability in her room when the door was locked. The other version would be that Gisela had aftereffects of the contents that she drank while pregnant with Keefe, and that caused the potential in her to be brought out in the form of a conjurer. She could have privately trained in the ability, but still not gotten anywhere near mastering it as she still struggled a decade and a half later.
As for the "family legacy," Gisela learned about the details when she was a couple hundred years old, sooner than her previously family members, as her mother trusted that she would be the one to complete the tasks, knowing how special and driven Gisela was. (This would have occurred before Gisela had married Cassius and had Keefe.) Based off that, she would have developed her idea for stellarlune and Keefe's legacy before marrying, choosing Cassius because he was a strong empath, and Elysian had genetic connections to the ability. Through that, Keefe's legacy is to become the next Elysian, extending beyond the ability to shut off elves' special abilities, but to also prompt people to manifest and control their physical actions.
In summary, Elysian's ability allows her to put up mental blocks between a person and their connection to their special ability. Gisela is Elysian's descendant, and Keefe is the product of his heritage and experimentation. Elysian is not an overpowered character; she can only shut off elves' special abilities, but the Talentless have been living without them and therefore can survive without that power. The one who is overpowered is Keefe, because now, he has Elysian's ability and Grady's ability combined into one, allowing him to control both the mind and the body, making him the most powerful character in the entire Keeper of the Lost Cities Series.

good evening daet fandom. anyway i was going through my old scribbles and i found these that i did about a year ago.. where i thought about what a sequel to dust could look like: an unstable dust having to fight his other halves for control a lot more than in the first game. i think i posted a little bit about it a long time ago but i figured i'd post these too.
i just keep coming back to this little blue guy. its been over 10 years now i can't escape. for more ramblings go below the cut
i like the idea of jin when he shows up is a bit more.. like. not as willing to get things done and is a bit more of a pushover. like he was kind and willing to help but the extreme he was pushed to in order to avenge his parents is more of an exception and not the rule OR if you're not a fan of that jin interpretation i could see he over-corrects in his interactions with other people in fear of slipping into the person he became when he lost his village. plus if he gets angry he fears thats when cass can wrestle control from him and dust
cass is aggressive. he's angry. he lost the one person he probably cares about in this world and he plans to make it everyone's problem. fortunately ahrah has a mind of his own and whenever cass tries to use him in a way that's not self-defense he can just. stop in midair and cass can't do shit.
that doesn't mean dust never shows up, he just has less of a wrestle on the two souls than he had before because of the whole dying thing. it gets exhausting managing his emotions and two entirely unique souls yknow? him and jin do kind of team up to keep cassius from yknow. killing people but jin also doesn't have dust or cass's strength so in life-threatening situations he's kind of useless. and i think dust has a lot of strength and is resilient but he can only handle so much and he's one of three sharing a body. its probably mentally and physically exhausting.
anyway sorry if you read this far its almost 2 am and i dont really feel like proofreading too much. if u like this maybe i'll draw more and if you wanna send some asks about it you can
#dust an elysian tail#doodles#also i just think it would be so fucking. tragic for ginger to in a roundabout way reunite with her brother#but also seeing him meaning they might be risking dust#and it brings up an interesting question of if there's two souls what does that make dust#does he have his own 'soul' or is he just like. purely magic#ALSO i mentioned this back when i originally posted about this idea but i changed cass to purple and jin to orange#mostly bc i thought they were better than the green/red typical colors#and it looked better on dust's blue#though dust with red eyes KINDA fucks#but i think purple works better (and its my fav color)

What if conversations and arguments with God almost never utilize words?
Like, God and the archangels and all primordial entities look human with the CW's budget, but if they are in fact abstracts without form that obliterate lesser minds that try to comprehend them, then Lucifer probably didn't refuse to love humanity in King's English.
It's also notable to me that not just Heaven, but patriarchal figures in general communicate through wordless visions in Supernatural. (Which fits with the motif of 'Your absent father believes he is communicating to you perfectly because he is talking to your shoulder and not looking at your face.') Zachariah (subordinate of Michael who is God's firstborn, mind) builds his little AU worlds to argue with Dean and Sam, Naomi makes Castiel kill a thousand Deans, but the Alpha Vampire also sends his children hallucinations and Azazel also, in a way, is giving Sam visions.
If you're talking to an embodiment of creation, you're probably talking to some complex representation of creation itself and what better way is that than a full and complete and false reality? Gabriel cosplays as a lesser god and becomes a Trickster, warping reality to communicate to humans their failings. Lucifer, fresh from the cage, does the same to Nick before speaking to him, sending Nick visions of his tragic loss before referencing it in conversation. Lucifer also makes the demons dream for the first time, according to Meg. The prophets who are able to interpret the words of God and hear his voice, are plagued by visions - Fucking Chuck described his visions as seeing things go down but not getting the full context or just very badly describing it, as seen with Dean and the tarp in the back window being "black wings" and how Chuck saw Lilith and Sam and assumed they'd be fucking shortly.
So. Maybe Archangels, the original four angels to witness God, have to get used to their understanding of reality morphing and sliding to fit God's intentions when they talk. They Probably have or develop a way to know when they're experiencing Real Reality and Dad Reality, and it doesn't fuck them up. Probably.
Or maybe when God abandoned humans long enough for the field of psychology to open up and the unethical 60's happened, He got to find out that He's the gaslighter of all time and it might've driven the kids insane. (What if God talked to Lucifer, His favorite, the most?)
(This also makes the interpretation of the cage being dragged through every single possibility and consequence of your actions per 'I Love Lucy' by Grin into the Dad Yelling At You Box, and boy, Meg would be right that souls freshly pinned to the rack would forget who they were if God was gaslighting his son on a cosmic scale in the basement.)
#lucifer spn#Am I good at meta? No but I don't have to be good to post here. It's tumblr. There's no licensing board you can complain to.#Yes this does mean that Lucifer could've walked into Elysian Fields - a gathering of *gods* - and when faced with his brother#His younger and incorrect brother with a blade in his hand he might have thought this was another conversation a quick chat he's owed#Lucifer is going by the plan but this isn't the plan but Is It Now? Is It Real? And Gabriel is espousing the virtues of the humans then#Then they're fighting and Lucifer gets the edge. He taught his brother everything.#This is how you show God you're committed - with a blade in hand and a sacrifice screaming below it. This is how the argument goes.#But. It doesn't end. It's reality as God left it.#Lucifer asked Gabriel to not make him do it. Was he really asking Him?

Okay so I know your stance on Elwin bio dad theory and I do love some good Sophie bio dad discourse, but what I really want to know is who you think Brant is related to and also (if you feel like it ofc) if/where Elysian could fit into this. (Writing this bc I love reading your ideas but feel free to skip this one <3)
Brant hmm... the most compelling could be like from a branch from the Vackers, like didn't he get extra ability detecting classes or something? I forgot. Feels like it would be something a prominent noble family would do. but other than that idk doesnt really seem like it'll be mentioned or important again.
brants real parents is fintan and bronte actually (no one knows how he was born, he just appeared into existence) and fintan took him in the divorce 😢 cough cough. I had to write that. it was too funny to me for some reason idk why
i dont really understand why so many people think that elysian somehow relates to Sophie's bio parents (especially in a lot of fanfics for some reason) (the amount of fics I've tried to read regarding elysian are so annoying like no elysian is not Sophie's OR Keefe's secret twin they somehow didn't know about. why are there so many of these???)
Anyways. I have no elysian theories. Only that I think its connected to Prentice. bye

I suddenly realize one thing: metroid are the pariahs of Chozo.
Once they must be something resembling hope, since their given name is "Ultimate Warrior" in chozo language. They are created to eliminate the terrifying X Parasite, but they were just abandoned by chozo after evolution. Indeed, they did become violent and even attacked their creators, but I still see it was somehow chozo's fault -- didn't ever consider the circumstances.
In manga, Old Bird and other thoha chozos once viewed metroids are their valuable children like Samus, which turns out to be so ironic that they were now treated like the X parasites, waiting for the doom as well as SR388.
The other creation--Elysian are much luckier than the metroid:They are faithful and stable. They also carried the mission from Chozos, but they had independence as a new species after chozo's leaving. Metroids were just innocent, and somehow born as a mistake. Even in Elysian Chozo's prediction on Tallon Ⅳ, they were described as "Parasite".
Finally we come to Samus-- the one who is granted the name "Ultimate Warrior". Personally, I think Samus somehow replaces the metroid's role, which is a reason complicates relationship of them.
At last the pariahs were doomed by the Newborn, except one small hatchling. At least it is comforting metroid regained a chance to get back to the "chozo", and the real Ultimate Warrior will born from both of them.

not a very well put thought but - the word 'elysian' originates from the greek 'elysian fields' in the underworld. would be cool if that was relevant to the characters (aside from the fact it means paradise)

One of the most important aspects of characterization in KotLC focuses around what the characters do with powerful special abilities when they're handed to them.
Fitz chooses to follow set paths, using his as he's told; Keefe chooses to use his power defiantly and in ways he isn't told to. Sophie uses hers to try to save the world, following the path laid out for her like Fitz does, but with her path meant to be one of rebellion. Grady fears and hates his power because the world around him does, only using it in defense of his family; Linh, on the other hand, keeps using and training with hers even after disaster, she, Marella, and Tam all choosing to accept the stigma that comes with what they can do. Dex dismisses his power because it isn't one of the "important" abilities, whereas Biana has perhaps a less powerful ability, but chooses to explore it and find out just what she can do. I could go on!
The idea of special abilities and what people think of them pervades the narrative at every turn. Like, it isn't a coincidence that the characters are "overpowered"—it's the whole point! What do they choose to do with that? How do they deal with the ideas imposed on them by others because of what they manifest, or whether they manifest? KotLC is about a lot of things, but one of the most prevailing narratives is special abilities. It's so many metaphors all at once, and it's so much to unpack if you just stop to take a look.
#this post was brought to you by: sil and catherine were ranting to each other about kotlc over discord again <3#just like we were when we talked about the big reveal that elysian can turn off powers and how that brings the narrative to a climax#there's so much!!!#kotlc thoughts with catherine#meta#elves are weird#kotlc#whole squad
