Hobie Brown headcanons: dating a gn!autistic!reader

Autism is a spectrum and remember that everyone has different needs and levels of support, I just tried to include what i know in this post!

Hobie is in tune with your needs, spidey-sense and all. He's pretty good at being able to predict when you're going to have a meltdown and will throw anyone out of the room to give you some space to calm down and work through it

Has ear defenders or headphones on him at all times and spare sets around his flat just for you

If you let him/want him to he will totally paint them for you, whatever you want

New safe food? He's stocked up like he's preparing for a blizzard

Never pressures you to try new foods or to 'get out of your comfort zone', but will encourage you if that is what you want

Safe food turned against you? He's boycotting it with you

Has invested in several weighted blankets of various weights

If you have sensory issues with clothing (tags, hate the feel of certain material, etc) but still want to steal his clothes, he will happily modify your favorite pieces of his so you can wear it. Hell, his whole closet even

Despite hating consistancy, he knows how important routine is to you and will throw that belief away in a heartbeat (just for you though)

Helps you with transitions, like giving ten minute warnings before you two go out, getting you a nice fluffy robe to make getting out of the shower easier, or writing out what you're doing for the day and when so you can mentally prepare yourelf

Will listen for hours about your special interest, even if you think he wouldn't care or like it. Hello Kitty? He's listening. Enbalming methods from the 1800's? Doesn't matter, you have his full attention and loves learning about whatever you love

If you're non-verbal, selectivly mute, or low-verbal, he finds other ways to help you communicate. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable and heard. 'Yes/No' buttons? You've got them. Flash cards with your needs? Got it on a clip and all so you can carry it around easier, and he helps you decorate them. Signing? Hobie's learning BSL now so he can understand you (and honestly loves signing with you)

Hobie has a huge fidget toy collection that you're welcome to take from at any time, no questions asked

New hyperfixation? He'll get you what you need to do it. Embroidary? He's already got needles and thread, you can practice on his clothes. Same with sewing, he'll teach you if you want. A new video game? He borrows the console needed just for you

He knows that he can get a little loud, especially when going out as spiderpunk. Hobie's mindful to keep his voice down around you and will remind anyone else if they're getting too loud

Into The Spider-Verse OC: Athena Parker

Athena Grace Parker (Earth-616)  - known as Arachne, Athena was blessed by the goddess Arachne, a weaver given the powers of the spider... She's a new hero in training now, looking towards the heroes of the past, to guide her towards her future. After being adopted by Peter B. Parker and MJ Parker, she started training full time, while taking up odd jobs for other heroes in watching their kids. Known as Arachne/Spider-Girl, or as she jokes "The friendly neighborhood Spider-Sitter!" Athena is a witty, sweet kid who's not afraid to fight to protect what she cares for. Athena's powers are based around her gifts, where her ability to weave any fabric, comes in handy using silk that comes right from her fingertips. Athena's a hard worker to the core, who isn't going to let anything or anyone stop her from protecting her city... and nothing... not even being an "anomaly" will stop her.

Athena doesn't need her glasses anymore, but getting false lenses helps her... at least she thinks with her secret identity... and she loves how they look still. 

Athena Hope Parker (Earth-90214) - "Of all the agencies she had to walk into, she had to walk into mine..." Athena here, was a young runaway who was trying to hide her powers and did her best to stay out of trouble... Until one fateful night, that by chance she met the Spider of her world... and despite their differences, from being a snappy, wise cracking teen and a hardened detective they made quite the team. Now it's just her and 'Pops' trying to protect New York in the 1930's. (Only one of the three who calls herself Spider-Girl) Athena and Spider-Noir spend a good deal of their days cracking cases, while she teases him about a certain dame named Mary-Jane who walked into his office. She's utterly *fascinated* by the rubiks cube, he had brought back from Miles' dimension. The colors are literally nothing she's ever seen. She uses a lot of close combat, versus just using her powers. "A lady doesn't start a fight... but I will!" here, Athena still loves knitting and crochet, but she prefers embroidary. In addition, she loves tap dancing and sometimes the last thing a crook hears before getting knocked out is the "tip tap" of her shoes above them.

Athena Faith Parker (Earth-2149) - "It's up to me, to protect what's left..." From a New York, ripped to shreds by a zombie virus, Athena had been Arachne for two years when the virus hit... and in the aftermath, she gave up her mask and suit in an effort to survive. In this world, it's going up against intelligent zombies who are fast and still have powers. Athena has managed to protect a small colony of humans, from the living dead and frequently is sent on scouting missions in the apocalypse torn city to find survivors, clues for a cure or potential supplies.

When the infection spread, Athena was at Avengers Tower, looking after the children of the Avengers and locked down the building as much as she could. She took shelter initially with the two people who hadn't been infected as far as she knew, Stephen Strange and Bruce Banner. They later made their escape with the kids and other survivors to a colony protected by a shield of Strange's. She's had to survive in a world where her former comrades and mentors have turned on her... and she's determined to keep a promise she made to MJ to find Peter and bring him home... she just prays he's alive.... She puts up a front that she's just fine, cheery, everything's okay with her mentally, when in reality she's a bitter young lady, who hates that she couldn't do more the day everything came to an end...

So, I'm back on my BS with Into the Spider-Verse. When Across the Spider-Verse came out I made this OC, who was heavily inspired by the song "The Goddess and the Weaver" along with various magical girl stories. Initially in 2018, when I first made her, Athena like Miles would've had a spider from another Dimension drop in... and then Across the Spider-Verse happened and so I wanted to play more with different means of getting those same powers.

I'm planning to write about her, so keep an eye out!
