We teamed up with @empowermentplan to give them some of their multi-purpose coats, which will hopefully make a brighter Christmas for people in need. Good morning! #HappyLaborDay! Hope this fun @clintmario piece at the 2nd Ave Subway station bring you some positive vibes today 😄🆒👊 As you may know, #laborday is celebrated on the first Monday in September and commemorates the social and economic achievements of American workers. According to the dedicated page on the #departmentoflabor site, it constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Despite these successes, there are Americans who do not share in this good fortune, and one Detroit organization is helping to bridge this gap. By hiring homeless parents in local shelters to become seamstresses, the @empowermentplan helps them to earn a stable income, find secure housing, and gain back their independence. The individuals are trained to manufacture a water-resistant and self-heating coat that transforms into a sleeping bag at night and a bag when not in use. The coats are distributed to homeless people living on the streets for free. The #empowermentplan believes in giving second chances to those who want it, and providing warmth to those who need it. Warmest Winter Chicago

We’re excited to announce we’ll be playing the The Empty Bottle this Saturday, December 26th, as a Christmas present from the Bottle and us. Most importantly, a portion of the proceeds will go to the The Empowerment Plan / Warmest Winter, a non-profit initiative spearheaded by our friend Chance The Rapper that brings jackets that also serve as sleeping bags to the homeless in Chicago.
