It served as a reboot and the fourth television series in the Encantadia franchise and the reader is amihan, Amihan is a major character from the Philippine fantasy television series Encantadia and Etheria produced by GMA Network. Among the four elemental Sang'gres, she is considered as the main protagonist, having appeared in the First Episode. Amihan is the guardian of the blue Brilyante ng Hangin / wind

Sang'gre Amihan of Lireo, Rehav of Sapiro, was the fifth Hara / queen of Lireo. She was born in the Kingdom of Lireo during the War between Sapiro and Hathoria, as the second daughter of the Hara Minea of Lireo and the only daughter of Rehav Raquim of Sapiro. As Lireo's monarch, she was also the keeper of the kingdom's Air Gem. She became the mother of Lira and the lover of Rehav Ybrahim.

Amihan is willing to sacrifice her life for the sake of Lireo and all of Encantadia; a trait inherited by her only daughter, Lira. Despite Danaya's ( her sister) protest on her plan, using Lira in order to persuade her, Amihan countered that her sacrifice is also for Lira's welfare, to ensure a future is possible for her especially she is the successor to the Diwata throne.

Luocha is very calm and collected, never losing his cool once, when you tell him about your plans. He'll just simply listen to you speak, trying to weigh out the options, before dismissing your plan completely, telling you that there won't be any need for such drastic measures.

He'll make up a whole, more effective plan for you, showing you that there is still so much you could do, instead of just outright sacrificing yourself. He's just so convincing with his intelligent and calculated words, that it actually makes you reconsider everything.

If you however insist, he'll still not budge on his stance and keep you out of any trouble himself. Maybe he'll even ask your family to help, but he won't let you get hurt no matter what. You still have a long life to spend with him, after all.

7 BINGE-TUNED TV SHOWS (JUNE-JULY 2020)

1) Tharntype- provocative & romantic. A story with a heartfelt twist. Love scenes aren’t porno like but was sensual. Just an adorable couple “MewGulf” off & onscreen Season 2 premieres 4th quarter this year so i’m really ecstatic what’s happening next.

Ratings & Review: 8/10 (Positive)

2) Love, Victor- breaking stereotype heterosexual mainstream rom-coms. It’s the golden age of mainstream BL tv series genre. Unexpected crossovers from a few casts of Love, Simon. It’s relatable, realistic, & lovable show. Season 2 is rolling hopefully next year.

Ratings & Review: 9/10 (Positive)

3) Mulawin vs Ravena- binge watched 85 episodes for 2 months on GMA Official Youtube account. This Filipino original fantasy drama series is phenomenal just like Encantadia. Great visual effects, location & costume design. Although the conclusion was a bit off, overall was pretty good. Season 3 is a wishlist.

4) Control Z- “Think before you click” is really important to secure social media & privacy to safety. Generation Z/ millenial culture is pragmatic on this show. It’s tone is baffling, gloomy yet entertaining. Season 2 announced for next year’s release.

5) The Politician- unique, ambitious & joyful to view. Tackles the “dirty” politics. Moral stories & sensitive topics are foretold throughout the show which is uplifting & educational. Season 3 is a potential next year.

6) Money Heist- phenomenal, intelligent & an unpredictable crime heist drama series. The plot & characters are astounding. Season 5 is in the works bound to premiere this 2021.

7) Warrior Nun- women empowered, action packed & a“badass” fantasy series. The concept has resemblance to films of Priest & Legion. Liking how fiction can make biblical & scientific elements be appealing of this show. Season 2 is definitely a renewal next year.

I totally agree with a point you've made before about the four elements being used in stories, specially fantasy, almost since the dawn of stories being that the idea came from the Greeks' belief that when broken down to its essentials everything is made up of water, earth, fire, or air. However, don't you think it's kind of shade and kind of a d*ck, or at least cocky, move for Bagani to use the four elements being that the show was made as an obvious attempt to be a competition for Encantadia.

Hmm… I really don’t want to add more fuel to the fire. The head scriptwriters and fans of each respective shows have already exchanged heated words on social media as it is. However I do understand where you’re coming from anon.

The network rivalry between ABS-CBN and GMA has always been a hotly discussed topic in Pinoy showbiz. However, choosing to stay at a particular network is in the hands of talents themselves. Fortunately, managers are there to help weigh in–just like Arnold Vegafria to Teresita Ssen Marquez, popularly known as Winwyn Marquez, who just ended her contract with GMA-7 last February 15. Recently, Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) cornered the talent scout during a send-off party at Quezon City to talk about the Kapuso actress’ choice of management this time around.

Not willing to make a hasty decision, Arnold said that they have yet to come to a decision. While he couldn’t give a definite answer, the manager revealed that they already have offers from TV networks. As for Winwyn herself, the celebrity refused to comment and maintained that the decision is upon her manager.

With her longstanding career in GMA-7, it’s only reasonable that the actress is taking her time in making a decision. It can be recalled that her Kapuso stardom dates back to 2010, during which she starred in dozens of Teleseryes such as “Blusang Itim”, “One True love”, “The Half-Sisters”, “Someone To Watch Over Me”, and “Encantadia”. Add to that was her occasional guest appearances in variety show, “Party Pilipinas” and “Sunday All Stars”.

I. PREPARING FOR BATTLE.

-I am a fan of Encantadia. That is one of the reasons why I drew this. But the main reason? It reminds me of my learning experience in my communication class. Before a warrior goes to battle, he goes in an intense training to prepare himself for the future battle. Same with my class. We immersed ourselves by learning theories, concepts, and traditions and applying these things by observing other people in different places. We also did a portion of research in order for us to completely understand our topics. My battle mentor, which is my professor, has given me knowledge in order for me to survive and face my upcoming battles and challenges in this university.

II. IT AIN’T SIMPLE

- At first, I thought communication was easy. I never expected it to be so complicated. Learning comm is fun, at the same time challenging. Two concepts that made a mark to me is the Socio Cultural Tradition wherein people tend to construct reality, creating their own meanings so that they could fully understand each other. Another concept that I found interesting, is the Semiotics Tradition. This is the field where we study symbols and signs given by certain people and using it as a communicating advantage. Lastly, teamwork is an important learning strategy for me in this course. Through the help of my team-mates, I am able to  fully comprehend the lessons given and also gave me the advantage to be on track.

III. EYE OPENER

-Comm has given me a whole new point of view in the world. It helped me understand why some things are the way they are. It also gave me the opportunity on how to create my own mark in the future. I wanted to be an artist. A performer. And communication 2 has given me ideas on how the industry i want to be in works, and how I could change it or at least, create my own symbol. This course has given me the urge to study, learn, and apply these things to prepare myself for my future goals. So watch out world! In two years time, hopefully, I will be the next Beyonce.

Encantadia 2016-2017: The Final Verdict (Part 1)

Overall storyline

When it comes to searching for a binge-worthy TV Show, Movie, or heck even a novel, be it an actual book or in Wattpad, I am very picky when it comes to the story especially local ones since ironically they disappoint me most of the time, I can name only a handful of Philippine TV series that are worth the watch and I truly enjoyed.

STORY-WISE, the show started pretty well, the book one exceeded my expectations. There was a balance between the stories of both the good guys and the baddies’ stories, every character has their own story to tell, the fall of Amihan will always be my number one favorite arc because up until now, remembering that scene when Amihan found out about Pirena’s treachery, it still gives me goosebumps! The twists were to die for and aside from Alena’s poorly-written narrative there was nothing more I could rant about. The YbraMihan love story was clearly unexpected yet the writers did a good job at developing this story that I became so addicted to it! It was just so kilig, painful but beautiful and the best part is I got to witness Ruru and Kylie’s growth from the earlier part of the series until the finale of the first book. The DanQuil romance was just as squeal-worthy like their original counterpart and the “I love you” scene was the best part of their love story. Too bad though that the Mira-Anthony romance was put to an end prematurely and the love triangle between Lira-Anthony-Mira never happened because Lira was just too immature and Mira and Anthony…well, they’re just not meant to be. Nevertheless, I like the bittersweet ending of it. The sequence and the pacing of the story overall is perfecto, everything fell into place at the right time. It was magical, it was heart-warming, heart-racing, funny, exciting—just a perfect blend of every element that I am looking for in a TV series.

That was book one. But here’s the thing, after Amihan’s death everything just fell apart. Like I’ve been mentioning these past several weeks there were so many arc-fillers in the show that are clearly arc-fillers that were so dull and boring. They kept on killing characters especially major ones which I don’t think is necessary and then brought them back to life once again, they did that to Ybrahim, Lira, and Pirena in the first book, and they did that to Lira, Mira, Asval, Amihan (technically), and all other characters who died and was brought back to life once again in the second book. It was too repetitive and redundant especially for Lira’s part who died and was brought back to life twice…TWICE. It’s just so disappointing that the show started really well but ended up so badly—okay maybe not that bad but still not satisfying enough and just not impressive at all. The sudden twist of the show aka killing Lira and Mira was probably the most disappointing part and if it weren’t for Glaiza and Ruru, this would have been such an epic fail. They tagged this a major plot device but for me I don’t think so, because like I said in my lengthy rant post about the show, it was a desperate move to keep the viewers’ attention because the sarkosi plot never worked. GOD IF YOU CAN THINK OF A MORE INTENSE TERM THAN THE WORD “WORST,” then that’s how I would describe this shit. Of course they have to come with something, they have to keep the show a trending topic, and while the show was at it’s peak and was consistently number one most talked about in social media, it was for all the wrong reasons. Everyone was fuming, everyone was angry, everyone was disappointed, BUT it was a smart move for the writers and DMR to come up with the worst game plan ever and that is to drag the story down, the more it got worse, the more people talked about it. It was a stupidly impressive strategy, insane but it worked. There are two ways to keep a show’s rating high and have all the money they can get: first one is to throw some really popular actors to play a character in a badly-woven story and number two, the social media frenzy: butcher the story and throw in some really bad actors for people to bash on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. (and ta-daa! instant trending topic), it’s like a reverse psychology or some shit (didn't pay much attention on psychology classes because prof was boring and lazy af, but…whatever!). It’s just so sad that they have to ruin what would have been a beautiful, well-crafted story just for the sake of ratings. Fine, I’m not a pro at writing, I didn’t study film-making, not an expert at making critics, BUT FOR GOD’S SAKE you don’t have to be an expert to know that this is a butchered version of the original Encantadia! I will be forever frustrated if they don’t push through a new season to make it up to the fans especially those who are fans of the original trilogy. The pace was too fast, the narrative was the WORST, clearly this arc is rushed and not well-thought of. It was THAT BAD, and I am so annoyed! If I only knew that this is how it’s going to be, then I shouldn’t have signed myself up on this. The writers are my biggest disappointments plot-wise, I know Kylie basically ruined the plans for the show but dude, come on seriously? It’s their job to come up with a much better storyline or at least come up with a more exciting and interesting subplot that would wow the audience without murdering the very core of the story. And while I understand that they have to rush this since they are shoot-to-air (as mentioned many times by Ms Suzy), the team had a choice and the network had the power to pull out the show and make it like a season-ender and resume when Kylie is ready to work again. Maybe throw in some K-Drama or whatever to replace Enca for the meantime until the premiere of MVR. Ratings? There’s an AlDub show! There’s MTB which they kept on blabbing how well it has been doing. But then again, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt, after all we don’t know what the hell was really going on during that time. BUT, coming from a fan’s perspective, it is not an excuse for the writers to murder the story just because one cast member FAILED the entire team, it is not an excuse to come up with what would have been an interesting subplot and then screw it up in the end—YOU GUYS WERE THE ONES WHO CHOSE WHO’S GOING TO REPLACE KYLIE IN THE SERIES, GMA 7 has a number of excellent [young] actresses why the fuckin’ hell did they choose a…okay, stop—don’t make me describe her when I’m at the peak of my frustration. Is this book worth following? Hell to the fuck NO.

what is Your reaction when you watch Encantadia end may 19 2017

I think the finale went beyond my expectations considering that they were still shooting it a day before. It did look rushed (with pacing most especially) but I love that the VFX looked a lot smoother than with other episodes :)

Scenes I loved in the finale:

Alena becoming queen (She really deserved it)

Ariana/Amihan scene (Arra finally nailed it!!)

Asval’s death (Serves him right!!! although I wished that his death battle was a tag team between Ybrahim, Pirena and Hagorn)

DanQuil wedding (FINALLY and thank god they didn’t kill Aquil like last time)

YbraLirAmihan reunion (Even it was super short and Kylie was obviously edited in, I don’t care!)

Scenes that I had questions with in the finale:

Hagorn’s death (No slight redemption whatsoever especially with Pirena? I would’ve love it if the final blow was delivered by Pirena just like in the original series)

Ariana/Amihan and Lilasari vs Hagorn (Why, of all people, let Hagorn have a duel match with both Ariana/Amihan and Lilasari. I get it with Ariana/Amihan but why put Lilasari in the fray? Couldn’t they just have a one-on-one husband and wife match just like with the battle scene with Pirena? Is this supposedly have to do with the prophecy both had that was never fully explained?)

Raquim vs Hagorn (Still related with the topic above. It actually would’ve made more sense if it was Ariana/Amihan and Raquim who did a tag team battle against Hagorn instead of Ariana/Amihan and Lilasari…)

Gilas and Wahid (What happened to them? Were they resurrected or did their ivtres finally enter Devas?)

Manik (How on earth did his ivtre manage to go into Devas when it was still under Ether and Arde’s control?? Do remember that Lira, Mira, Wahid, Gilas and Deshna’s bodies remained in Lireo because the retres reported that Devas was sealed.)

4R’s: Encantadia Season 2 (April 26, 2017 episode review)

Episode 201

Recap:

Requiem: The Fall of Sapiro

Emre and Cassiopeia were placed in another predicament for they were too weak to fight Ether, thankfully, Emre’s pashnea friend returned and bought them time, this gave the two the opportunity to escape by using Cassiopeia’s ivictus to reach the desert where Haliyah’s weapon was.

Everything was in ruins when Ybrahim, Wantuk and Alena got there. Dead bodies surrounded the palace, Ybrahim’s nightmare just came to life. Mayca, a survivor of the ordeal showed up with the lifeless body of Kaizan. Mayca narrated how Hagorn attacked Sapiro using the two gems to break the palace’s barriers and ambushed the Sapirian army, Mayca witnessed how Kaizan was murdered, thankfully Mayca survived but regretted not being able to save Sapiro and her sister. Ybrahim was enraged and vowed before the gods to seek revenge for his people and won’t stop until he kills Hagorn.

A mass funeral was immediately held for the deceased, Ybrahim mourned for the deaths of his people but assured everyone that he will stop at nothing until justice is served. Ybrahim and Alena went back to Lireo, the monarchs held a meeting, because of what happened, Danaya decided enough was enough, even Pirena ordered her troop to search for her own father. Danaya who apparently asked her pashnea friend to look for Hagorn’s new camp returned and has succeeded finding their enemies. The Sang’gres and Ybrahim immediately marched all the way to Hagorn’s camp, Ybrahim challenged Asval once again in a one-on-one battle where the latter was almost killed if it weren’t for his allies’ intervention. A duel between Pirena and Andora would have ensued as well if Ether didn’t come just in time to help the Etherians. Danaya was injured, thus forcing the diwatas to return to Lireo.

Hagorn celebrated that night, Ether however still hasn’t forgotten how he betrayed Avria and still don’t trust him that much, but Ether loathes the diwatas as much as Hagorn does so she will still help him win against Lireo. Knowing the diwatas were already capable of keeping up with their strengths and power, Ether came up with a plan and was about to summon someone who will be of big help to Hagorn and whom the diwatas will have a hard time defeating.

(I only included the major details since it’s the only thing that is watchable in this episode)

Rave/s: 💪🏻 Déjà vu? This kind of reminds me of Amihan’s downfall back then—oh wait, 2005, when Ybrahim found Apitong and his comrades dead, and Amihan witnessed everything. See? This is really taking the YbraMihan 2005 route! I don’t mind that much since Ybrahim needs some character development and all but narrative-wise, it’s just not up there yet. Kudos to Ruru for nailing the episode tonight and while I find the rest of the episodes incredibly…um…kind of…nothing much, Ruru’s performance is still worth the watch.

Rant/s:

😪I’m sorry but for these past few days, I was really hoping that the show is going to redeem itself from last week, turns out otherwise, I seriously am getting bored day by day as they prolong Marian’s return to the point that all of my excitements with the idea of Mine-a returning just faded like a big time bitch. I am really, really struggling to find something to rave about the episodes these past few days, but all I see are a bunch of plot holes, or fillers, or just almost nothing to rave about. We only have a month to go and if the show is really ending in May, I think it will leave a shit ton of plot holes and a really bad ending, but then again the show, despite of being at the top of the trends list is gaining more mixed (to negative) reviews than generally positive, I’m checking Twitter (and occasionally on Facebook) from time to time and the only thing that saves this show from the fans’ ire is the cast performance, other than that people just aren’t enjoying the story anymore, like I said, I feel like there’s nothing much to look forward to, Raquim and Mine-a are returning and then after that what? Same old, same old again. With all honesty you guys, this season is not giving me that much excitement than it did in book one.

🤔That scene when Emre and Cassy trying to get away from Ether is just incredibly, incredibly stupid. Why do they have to run away when they can save energy and just ride the pashnea? Kaloka! Even Emre, a god himself did not even think about it? That’s a pretty simple predicament they would have easily gotten away with without Cassiopeia using her very little amount of energy to go ivictus.

😪This is why I hate this arc. Everyone is too focused on Lireo that they haven’t really thought about the neighboring kingdoms, and while they did grant protection on Sapiro, I still feel like this shit happened because of Ybrahim’s negligence, if he wasn’t sticking around in Lireo way too much, if he didn’t depend on Mayca on keeping the palace safe, then he would have come up with a better strategy to strengthen Sapiro’s security. AND if the brilyante ng hangin was placed under his care while these useless new guardians are still fuckin’ useless, then Hagorn would have only stolen one gem, if Danaya was really smart, then the fact that someone attempted to steal the gems (earlier this season) would have triggered her immediately to disseminate the gems to the monarchs for safe keeping. And you know what really kills me? Why the hell aren’t they using Mine-a and Adhara’s staffs? Those items are incredibly powerful as well, they would have easily defeated Hagorn’s or Avria’s forces way back then if they are really using their heads. There’s just too much to rant this season, Juvila and Odessa’s return would have really hyped my energy up, but it turned to be a big disappointment, Ariana’s character development is too slow-paced as well as Pao Pao and Muyak’s. Everything is just not interesting anymore see? This is the consequence of taking such huge risk for the sake of “twist.” I still gotta say the writers did a pretty good job at shocking people with their antics BUT, the aftermath of the twist took a toll on the show so badly that they have to re-incarnate or drag some familiar faces back to the show in a desperate move to redeem the story, but still even if there are endless new characters or new faces in the story, the fact that the narrative itself is NOT giving the fans something “fresh” or “out of the box” to look forward to, no matter how much they tell the entire universe how their show is always at the top of the trends, I still don’t find it believable considering that there are more people ranting about how fucked up the story is nowadays are making the hashtag a trending topic.

4R’s: Encantadia Season 2 (Feb. 10, 2017 week-ender episode review)

Episode 150

Recap:

Hail! Sang’gre Lira and Mira

Alena immediately went to see her hadiyas who were preparing for the feast. Truly, the princesses has grown into lovely young women, now ready to become leaders. Alena couldn’t be more proud of her nieces. Lira and Mira asked Alena if she still has plans of getting married and have children, Alena wasn’t really “thinking about it” and was more focused on being a guardian of the mother gem and Encantadia, Lira asked Alena if she doesn’t miss having a child, deep inside, Alena does but she sees Lira and Mira as her daughters as well, and they were enough for her. The elders could not believe how time flew so fast, before, Lira and Mira were just immature and mischievous diwanis, and now, they can truly say that Lira and Mira have matured and were now ready to face a new chapter in their lives. Hara Danaya congratulated both Pirena and Ybrahim for raising their daughters so well. Danaya noticed that Ybrahim was thinking of something, that other diwani who has been missing—Deshna, daughter of Lila Sari.

Colorful fireworks lit up the skies, Lireo was rejoicing. A feast was held in the palace, attended by the monarchs of Sapiro and Hathoria, Queen Danaya noticed that Alena wasn’t around, Muros hinted the reason why Alena wouldn’t bother to attend and secretly glanced at King Ybrahim. Danaya decided not to bother her sister and went on with the celebration. That night, diwani Lira, daughter of the late Hara Amihan and diwani Mira, daughter of Hara Pirena of Hathoria were officially hailed as the new sang’gres and guardians of the mother gem. Because of this, Rama Ybrahim of Sapiro, and also the father of sang’gre Lira vowed to strengthen the alliance of Sapiro and Lireo, Hara Pirena also promised to continue to rebuild Hathoria’s relationship with Lireo. It was a night to celebrate not only for the newly hailed sang’gres but for the three kingdoms as well. As the feast went on, Pirena noticed Danaya’s gloomy face, either she was thinking about Amihan or Aquil, unlike before, Danaya has learned to laugh off Pirena’s teasing. Hara Danaya decided to call it a night but let the rest enjoy the party. Pirena found it strange that Cassiopeia failed to attend the celebration, Imaw explained that maybe Cassiopeia has other important things to do, still, it baffled Pirena.

Avisala, Luna!

In a far off place, the lair of the nymfas was attacked by an Algona and took Sera’s pet. Sera immediately called Helgad and asked Deshna to save her pet, Helgad chided Sera and reminded her that Deshna is now Luna. Sera did not listen and just wanted her pet back, Helgad called her daughter Luna who was hanging out with her best friend Gilas. Luna heard her mother and went down from the tree she was resting. Upon learning about what happened to Sera’s pet, Luna immediately ran after the beast, Helgad knew how impulsive her daughter was and asked Gilas to look after her as always. Luna and Gilas fought the Algona and got Sera’s pet back, but Luna got injured because of her clumsiness. When they went back, Luna secretly urged Gilas not to tell Helgad about what happened to her, Gilas was forced to lie to Helgad so that the elder nymfa wouldn’t worry about Luna. That night, the nymfas saw the fireworks coloring the night sky, it was coming from the kingdom of Lireo, home of the diwatas. Curious Luna asked her mother about the diwatas, Helgad described them as kind-hearted and righteous, and also very good-looking like Luna. The young “nymfa” has never seen a diwata before and asked her nanang if they could go to Lireo and visit them, Helgad immediately lost her patience and ended up scolding Luna, Helgad’s other daughter defended Luna and explained that her older sister just wants to know about the diwatas. There were many questions in Luna’s mind, first why doesn’t she have long ears, second, why is her skin free from marks unlike the other nymfas. Helgad lied and told her a pashnea bit off Luna’s long ears when she was a baby and she would hanker for the “makinis na buwan” when she was pregnant with Luna, thus her smooth skin. Helgad decided to drop the topic and told her daughters to go home.

The Return of Avria

Cassiopeia knew something bad will happen to her and decided to look for Ether, the goddess appeared before her, Cassiopeia fought Ether but the goddess wouldn’t let her win this time, Avria appeared behind Cassiopeia, and through Ether’s power, Avria successfully possessed Cassiopeia’s body. Ether returned to their hide out where a cloaked encantada met her, it was the same encantada who attempted to steal the mother gem but failed because the sang’gres casted a powerful incantation to protect the gem. It was Agane. Ether knew getting the mother gem wouldn’t be that easy, but informed Agane that she successfully helped Avria possess Cassiopeia’s body. The first queen of Lireo and the Queen of Old Etheria are now one and the same.

Raves:

💜💗 Can we all just admire at how beautiful Lira and Mira are in their new royal garments? I looooove everything about their new looks, they look more regal and very queenly just like the elder sang’gres. So refreshing to see them being so graceful and poised throughout the celebration. Awra mga bessy!

⚜ This is not exactly a rave but this isn’t a rant either so bahala na kayo mag-decide Hahahaha! So, Solenn is Avria as well (for now). Actually I didn’t have any intense reaction when the episode finally revealed who will be playing Avria. When the Etherian queen possessed Cassy I was like, “Ah…okay…” it wasn’t really disappointing, it was just that I was expecting someone else.

🌼 Avisala Luna! I couldn’t say much about her yet except that she’s really, really hyper. I can tell Inah is very excited based on her performance so definitely looking forward for her story and what role will she play in the show.

Rants:

😱 I have read a tweet from a YA twitter page ranting about how the network lied about not replacing Kylie as Amihan in Encantadia, I was team replay last night guys I have no idea, what the hell is going on? Somebody please explain!

😤 Same old rants about the Alena and AleBarro: it’s on my last blog post entitled “Ex’s and Why’s” and if you haven’t read that, please do.

Week-ender thoughts: Well, this is just the epilogue of book 1 and the beginning of book 2, nothing really much happened and the only exciting part was Lira and Mira now turning into sang’gres (finally!). You guys know how I feel about Alena right now, and what the heck is with that tree and Amihan attempting to eat it’s fruit to be able to go back to Encantadia, any theories or ideas mga bes? Would love to know!

Ex's and Why's

Everything that bessy @themermaidstar said on her rant post was so on point.

But lemme just have my own version of why I’m not looking forward for a possible AleBarro reconciliation, why am I doubting the writers and why I’m frustrated at how the romance genre is turning out in the show. Alena made it to the trends list on Twitter and the hot topic of the “much awaited” (coughs) AleBarro reunion is literally on fire. I have read some tweets about how fans are frustrated over how Alena’s story is turning out. I read DMR’s post pertaining to their concern about Kylie and her pregnancy and their plans for YbraMihan that didn’t push through, Direk Mark, with all due respect sir, THIS IS NOT ABOUT KYLIE’S PREGNANCY ISSUE, this is NOT about us ranting over the hopia YbraMihan romance, it’s about the story itself. Here are some questions that I’ve been really seeking answers ever since this whole AleBarro issue was brought up.

First, what was the whole point of Alena moving on? - The fact that Alena chose to let go of Ybrahim to make him happy and for her learn how to live and be on her own was truly the biggest development for Alena’s character. Why are you guys ruining her progress? How come Alena has already moved on with Kahlil’s death but still can’t get over with Ybrahim. Alena still mourning for Kahlil is a more acceptable form of grief than this. Let me remind you, that AleBarro never had the same deep connection as Ybrahim and Amihan even though they had a son together and even before Kahlil was born, they were just co-parents, that was all. Seriously, why would Alena still hold on to someone who never fought for her in the first place, the man who only caused her nothing but pain and suffering. Okay, we’ll consider and try to understand that Alena’s greatest love is prolly Ybrahim, but the idea of them getting back together through a cliché and overly used plot is just…I can’t even find the proper and more civil term than the word bull----. You’ll just turn Alena into a rebound and nobody wants that, and everybody will be hating on Ybrahim again for being a major jerk. If Alena can’t get over him, then she could still have at least a civil if not a friendly relationship with Ybrahim like YbraMihan 2005. As for an heir, then why not let Danaya conceive a child so Lira can ascend the Sapirian throne? Or if Lira is meant for Lireo, then why not Arman if the Ybrahim-Odessa affair still pushes through? Going back, the fact that you’re turning Alena into some sort of martyr is a way of saying and telling people that it’s okay to be martyr, it’s okay to get hurt by someone you love over and over again, because someday it will all be worth it. Tsss! “Worth it” doesn’t always mean the love of your life finally realizing that he has mutual feelings for you and getting the happy ending you always wanted, sometimes, it’s all about the learning experience and how it honed you to be stronger and better. I know this is a fantasy story, but at least keep the story realistic and convincing. .

Second, Why butcher Alena’s character all over again just because? - I can hear loyal fans in my head saying, “AleBarro lang because GabRu is so much better.” - “AleBarro because Alena has been through so much but her love for Ybarro never changed even after all these years.” - “AleBarro because Ybrahim needs an heir.” (worst reason ever!) AleBarro this, AleBarro that, blah, blah, blah. GUYS, STOP! STOP! Can’t you guys see that they are turning Alena the way she was in book 1? I know you love GabRu/AleBarro but PLEASE! PLEASE! ALENA AND ALEBARRO FANS, DO NOT SETTLE FOR THIS STORY! Alena can give so much more other than just being a consort and a baby mama. She’s done really well in mentoring Lira, an excellent guardian of the mother gem, and a great pillar of Lireo, why can’t you guys push that kind of story for Alena, like what the @themermaidstar said, stop making romance the center of Alena’s story! There are other ways for Alena to fulfill her dream of having a family, let her meet someone who will bring out the best in her and in Gabbi as well just like how KyRu/YbraMihan brought out the best in each other, it’s all about team work, and this is a chance to prove to everyone that Gabbi can nail every romantic scene even if she’s not paired with Ruru, that way we will all be convinced that Gabbi is THE future ultimate leading lady and that is a sign that she is a good actress.

Third, Why force a pairing and then let people believe that it was all “fated” when it’s crystal clear that it’s not? - Except for the GabRu loyalists, everyone in Encantadia-verse will not buy this story. It is very much evident that Ybrahim’s true and greatest love is Amihan and like I said before even if he marries and have children with someone else, there will always be a special place for Amihan in his heart, that’s something that any AleBarro “kilig scene” cannot fill in. I want Ybrahim to live happily, and by happily I mean realizing that life has so much to offer, he still has a daughter to shower with so much love, friends whom he can always lean on, and a kingdom and his people to look after, he’s the father of Encantadia, and Amihan will always be it’s mother. I want Ybrahim to be free from pain but not “through the help of another woman,” I want him to free himself, I want to see him do this on his own, so he’ll learn how to smile genuinely again, and live his life while he waits for the right time to be with Amihan again, or if you want to push AleBarro, then let Alena and Ybarro free themselves from pain, doubts and anger and re-discover themselves first (I would settle for Amihan being a very sweet memory of Ybrahim) and if everything is settled and all good, then maybe I’ll start buying this story.

I hope as the story progresses, I’ll find answers to these questions. I know how hard it is to come up with a good story but I also hope the team is really listening to the fans. I apologize on the fandom’s behalf if you guys feel that we’re nagging you and it’s taking a toll on all of you, but I really hope you guys understand what we are all trying to point out. 4R’s: Encantadia (Jan. 26, 2017 episode review)

Episode 139

Recap:

Death of Hara

Amihan was ready to face her death.

All of a sudden, Alena appeared and aided her in battle. Using the lupig and the water gem, Alena fought the Hathors and Hadezars. Amihan didn’t want to get Alena involved and urged her to leave immediately, but Alena insisted on staying and took Amihan away. Alena found Danaya and Hitano, a puzzled Danaya asked what was going on. Alena apologized to Amihan and knocked her unconscious, Alena revealed that she knew what Amihan has been planning, she cannot allow Amihan to die and told her youngest sister that it is her who is much worthy to make the sacrifice and left, Danaya failed to stop her. The youngest sang’gre healed Amihan’s wounds and when the queen finally regained consciousness, she immediately followed Alena. Danaya knew her sisters must be stopped.

Upon learning from Pirena about Amihan and Alena’s plans, Ybrahim persuaded Pirena to teleport them back to Sapiro, but Pirena refused, saying that her sisters’ decisions were final, and there was nothing they can do to stop them. Ybrahim was disappointed at Pirena for she haven’t changed, she’s still the same selfish Pirena they know. Ybrahim went to Lira and told her that they have to go back to Sapiro “if Lira still wants to see her mother and Ashti Alena alive,” though Lira was quite puzzled, she and Ybrahim whisked their way back to the kingdom.

Alena went back to the throne room and faced Hagorn and his troop once again, and though Alena was clearly powerful, the Hadezars made it difficult for her to defeat Hagorn’s forces and ended up getting injured badly. Amihan appeared shortly after and defended Alena after regaining consciousness thanks to Danaya’s earth gem, Alena witnessed how Amihan was taken down and was terrified at the sight of her sister slowly succumbing to her death. In a last attempt to protect Amihan, Alena created a barrier using the water gem and shielded the both of them, now weak and dying, Amihan urged Alena to leave. The downside of being the sister’s queen is that she too is also bound to follow orders, Alena had no choice but to leave the throne room.

Lira and Ybrahim found Danaya and Hitano who were also searching for Amihan and Alena, Lira asked once again what was going on but it wasn’t the time for explanations and started searching. Danaya and company found Alena who was badly injured, the sang’gre revealed that Amihan was at the throne room fighting Hagorn by herself. Lira and Ybrahim wasted no time and immediately left with Hitano. Danaya tended to Alena’s wounds first and when the latter regained strength, she and Danaya decided to go back to the throne room as well.

Now it was only Amihan left, Hagorn was getting impatient at how the sang’gres seem to be fooling him. Hagorn gave Amihan one last chance to spare her life—surrender everything, something which Amihan swore to never do. Hagorn finally used the spirit gem and ended Amihan’s life, the queen has fallen. Just as Danaya and Alena were about to follow the prince and his diwani daughter, the air gem appeared before the sisters, a gentle wind caressed them and heard Amihan’s voice telling them they love them. Words Amihan spoke before she parted ways with Danaya. The sisters knew Amihan has died, back in the camp, Pirena also heard Amihan telling her she loves her, Pirena knew something happened to Amihan.

By the time Lira and Ybrahim came, it was already too late. Amihan’s body lay lifeless on the throne room of Sapiro. Lira and Ybrahim immediately ran towards the queen and tried to wake her up, but Hagorn revealed that Amihan is already dead. Danaya and Alena appeared and were heartbroken at the sight of their dead sister. Ybrahim was enraged, but Danaya and Alena stopped him for it was useless to fight Hagorn at this point. Hagorn told them to take Amihan’s body and promised to give them time to mourn for their queen.

Aquil went to Hathoria and fought the Hathorian guards leaving one Hathor for him to interrogate about the Hadezars, and how Hagorn was able to free the ivtres from Balaak, the Hathor revealed that it was through the help of their gods Arde and Ether which is why Hagorn succeeded to free the ivtres. Hagorn and his troop came but didn’t mind him killing his men (also because of Amarro’s plea to spare him) and told him instead to go back to his allies for the queen is already dead. Amarro attempted to win Aquil on their side, but hearing the news only made Aquil more determined to fight for the diwatas.

Lira was the most devastated at the death of the Lirean queen, the young sang’gre begged her Ashti Danaya to heal her mother but there is no cure for death. It was also then that Lira found out that both Alena and Danaya knew what Amihan was planning after Alena resented that it was Amihan who died instead of her. Lira was angry at her Ashtis for keeping this from her and refused to listen to Danaya and Alena’s explanations, that Amihan wanted this to happen, and the sisters has to follow the queen’s orders, it was painful, but it was their only chance to win against Hathoria. Still, it wasn’t enough for Lira to feel better, because no matter how much they try to console her, it will never bring back the life of her mother. Mira appeared and was also devastated at the sight of the dead queen and regretted not being able to spend more time with her. Pirena also appeared and found out that Amihan is dead. Unfortunately, Pirena also knew what Amihan has been planning which only made Lira’s pain worse, even Ybrahim couldn’t bring himself to comfort his daughter for he too was in great pain.

Meanwhile, in the lair of the lambanas, the winged creatures noticed that the tree lit up once again, it was a sign that another diwata has died. The leader of the lamabanas ordered Muyak and a group of pixies to fetch the dead body of whoever died. The lambanas came along with Muyak and was shocked to find out that it was the queen whom they will be taking to Devas.

Raves:

💎 The saddest episode ever! So much angst among the characters right now especially for Ybrahim and Lira’s parts. But everyone did so well tonight! Congrats Enca team! Once again, you have exceeded my expectations! Your hard work, dedication and team work is what makes this show a great success, well done team! Well done!

💙 ‘Till the very end, Amihan has proven that she is and will always be the greatest leader Encantadia has ever had, and I just remembered Cassiopeia’s prophecy, that Amihan will be one of the brave leaders who will make Hathoria crumble into ashes, so that means Amihan isn’t leaving just yet. Either she will be given more time by Emre to fulfill her destiny or she will be granted a second life just like the original. As for Kylie, I have no idea how she managed to slay those fight scenes even if she’s pregnant but damn girl you da queen! The baby sure will be kicking some ass if he or she comes out. This may seem out of topic but I watched Kylie’s interview and I saw how happy she was, it makes me feel happy for her as well. Although I am really looking forward for more KyRu projects after Enca, I guess we’ll just have to wait.

💚 Yaaaas Gabbi! That staff does look like a spear and I had goosebumps watching Gabbi work Adhara’s staff, there’s no other weapon suitable for Alena than a spear. Also, seeing Adhara’s Lupig and Alena’s water gem’s powers combined was THE BOMB! It was dangerously breathtaking, Alena wielding both tools is indeed rave-worthy, both powers synced so beautifully and I have to commend the Enca staff for this great special effect.

💜💪 Hugs for father and daughter, although I would have liked it if Mikee showed some really intense emotions—grief and anger combined while she attempts to avenge her mother and fight Hagorn. That would have been epic for Lira’s character. I still want to see a more serious side of Lira, like “dark” Lira, and then she will be more determined to show to everyone that she is worthy to be Lireo’s crown princess, and become a leader just like Amihan. It really sucks for her right now because she lost her mother twice, the first being Amanda, her foster mom. I am sad that Amihan died, but I am also excited for Lira 2.0! I don’t know but I think Amihan’s death will contribute a lot to Lira’s character development.

💎 That “E correi diu whisper” to Danaya, Alena and Pirena 😭 virtual hugs for everyone in the fandom! Huhuhu!

Rant: 🙄 I was expecting Piry to appear out of nowhere and fight Hagorn! My Emre! Kaloka bes, sobrang duwag and selfish! Well, as the saying goes, you can’t change someone overnight.

4R’s: Encantadia (Jan. 17, 2017 episode review)

Episode 132

Recap:

Treasure Hunt

Pirena caught Ybrahim securing one of Sapiro’s rooms, when the former asked him, Ybrahim simply stated that it was the room of his late parents and he sleeps there sometimes, the room has nothing else except for the memories of the deceased king and queen of Sapiro. When Pirena left, Ybrahim called Wantuk and continued transferring the rest of Sapiro’s hidden treasures. Ybrahim feared that Pirena might discover his secret soon so when Pirena wasn’t around, he and Wantuk grabbed the opportunity to take the treasures somewhere else. Pirena knew Ybrahim was hiding something so she decided to follow the duo, Ybrahim and Wantuk buried some of the treasures outside the palace, Pirena saw the two of them, she now knows where to find those treasures.

Meanwhile, Lira found out from Imaw that Pirena went to Lireo earlier before and informed her sisters about what she knew about Hagorn, but Pirena left shortly after the heated argument between her and Danaya. Although Lira understood why Danaya was doubting Pirena, Lira was glad that her Ashti actually listened to her and decided to go back to Sapiro. The diwani appeared before Pirena and expressed how happy she was, Pirena however was angry at how her youngest sister humiliated her in front of the Lireans and regretted the fact that she listened to Lira. Pirena warned her niece not to show up anymore.

Of sisters and forgiveness

Danaya saw Alena talking to Banak and Nakba, and grabbed the opportunity to talk to her once again. Danaya brought the topic about Kahlil once again and tried to explain her side, to her surprise, Alena wasn’t angry anymore thanks to Lira. Their hadiya went to Alena and showed her the picture she took with her younger brother, Kahlil when she went to Devas. Alena saw how happy Kahlil was and knew that her son is in a much better place now, this has finally healed Alena’s wounds and finally led her to forgive Danaya, Alena also apologized for everything she did to Danaya. The shattered bits and pieces of their broken hearts were finally glued back into place, the sisters are finally reunited.

Resurrection and the Red Moon

Using the fire and spirit gems, Hagorn was able to defeat the Mancao and retrieved the key to free the ivtres. Asval expressed his desire to go back to Encantadia, Hagorn allowed him to be his ally once again but did not want Hitano around. He stabbed Hitano with his blade, but the latter was already dead, which explains the reason why Hitano seems to be invulnerable to weapons. Hagorn let him be and went back to Arde, and since he passed his test and he happens to be Ether’s favorite worshipper, Arde allowed Hagorn to go back to Encantadia along with the resurrected Hathors, Hitano secretly joined the army to be able to go back to Encantadia. Night fell, Hagorn’s ivtre successfully reunited with his body which delighted Ether.

Back in Lireo, the sang’gres noticed that the moon suddenly turned red, seeing this as a bad omen, Alena and Danaya went to Cassiopeia. Unfortunately, this is beyond what Cassiopeia can see in her eyes, but warned the sang’gres that this could mean great danger. Even in Sapiro, Ybrahim, Pirena and Wantuk also saw the red moon, Ybrahim sensed that something bad is going to happen. Back in Lireo, Mira saw Amihan very worried, the queen noticed that Lira wasn’t around and Mira doesn’t know where she was, shortly after, Lira came much to Amihan’s relief, the diwani also witnessed the red moon and feared for the worst.

Lila Sari went to Hathoria and confirmed that the kingdom was almost deserted. Not long after, Hagorn came back with an army of Hathors and Asval, as the second moon appears, another bloody war is about ensue.

Raves:

💚💛 Yaaas! Finally, Alena has already forgiven Danaya. Been waiting for this for so long, truly, Alena has taken that leap to redemption, so far she’s really been doing great and I couldn’t be more proud of her character. I like that DMR didn’t make it too melodramatic, that would have been cheesy in this day and age, just a perfect balance of love and forgiveness period.

❤ Mej natatawa ako kay Piry hahahahahaha! Sige bes, kayamanan pa more! 😂😂 her new motto is “Kayamanan is life.”

Rant: 🤔 Wait, isn’t the key to that room full of Sapiro’s treasures the kantao? Ybrahim has it. So why did he have to bury some of the treasures outside the palace and sa most obvious spot pa? Amihan already knows about it so maybe he should have asked her to maybe secretly cast an incantation so Pirena wouldn’t get a hold of it easily, or…please tell me he was smart enough to fake those stuff and make Pirena believe that those were the kingdom’s hidden riches, that would have been genius.
