The metal music scene in Turkey has grown significantly over the past 20 years, and if it has not become one of the most influential, it has undoubtedly become one of the most powerful and impressive scenes. Hailing from Istanbul, Engulfed are releasing their second studio album Unearthly Litanies Of Despair, which builds on the strength of their first album and past EPs, while pushing boundaries ahead.

Unearthly Litanies Of Despair is one of those wrathful death metal albums that mercilessly attacks its listeners. It knows how to fuse the lethal turbulence of old-school death metal with its modern elements, turning its musical horizons into a ruthless creature whose destructive power is borrowed from the formidable, powerful foundations of the band’s pounding nature. Unearthly Litanies Of Despair is an intimidating collection of songs that obsessively collects and reimagines the most exciting indicators of classic death metal to create a ferocious, remarkable work that stands apart from the current, tedious trends in the death metal genre.

The number of times I have dreamt of your lips meeting the side of my neck.. it has me distracted, wondering where you would want to start exploring first. Which square inch of my body you choose to memorize before the rest. I'm not sure you will ever be able to fathom how it feels to hear your voice in my ears, nearly whimpering from just me twirling your soft hair between my fingertips.

Your arms feel like safety.. or what I think safety would feel like. You envelope me, despite your arms not fitting all the way around my waist. I can feel your love seeping through your pores into my skin.. making me whole again.

Love never felt like this, purifying and healing. I have never felt intoxicated by someone the way you intoxicate my weary veins. I am made stronger by touches you lay, ready to console my every nerve. Your voice sends shivers down my spine and as gently roll on top of you, staring deep into your eyes, I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced such perfection. I want to hold your hands and pin your arms down as I dive lips first into the cove where your neck meets your shoulder.. your softness invading my lips.

When I hear you tell me you love me, all the pain and anger melts away. I never want this moment to end. This moment where you and I are fighting to love each other through it all. This world is ours for the taking.

And if anyone can conquer it all in love with me, I know it will be you, the woman I dream of, the love I want engulfed in.
