the THING. is that wkx is charismatic in a way that sj is not. Shen Yuan is charismatic. wkx is charismatic. we can see him charming uh zhao jing and the rest of the five lakes alliance. he has his off-putting swagger sure but he also. cannn....play pretty nice and cool and human if it serves him. and shen jiu, when he is feeling unsafe and ill at ease, cannot. he does not have that skill. (he could have a different charisma probably but he just doesn't seem to want to. We have no idea what shen jiu wants he's a black box. he doesn't "like" "anything")

but does he like fans?

Shen Jiu is a fan of the fans as a signifier of class and dignity and he can hide behind them. They might make him look like a whore but that's better than looking like an immature rage filled little at least whores are good people. Shen Jiu likes fans for their aesthetic value primarily. He would hold the fan if it wasn't a weapon. For Shen Jiu it issss like a security blanket.

Wen Kexing, on the other hand, couldn't care less truly. He likes the fan because it is a socially acceptable hidden weapon to wave around, but he'd stab someone with a chopstick. or a recorder. Wen Kexing likes the fan because he can impress his crush with all the cool fan tricks he knows (around the world, anyone?) Petition to get this man a butterfly knife.

For Shen Jiu, the fan is a personal identity thing. The fan is the one accessory that has never betrayed him. For Wen Kexing, this is a stim toy he could kill someone with. It is personal for Shen Jiu in a way that it is not for Wen Kexing.

Genuinely I keep thinking about them oh my lord. The way in a normal world they would have never met. Wouldn't have even known eachother existed except in passing and rumors. Yet in this world where everything is falling apart Griefer and Jim are the only lifelines in their towns, do they meet even if its in voicechat. The only way Roadtown can talk to Turitopulis. And if Red lives in somewhere other than Roadtown or Blackrock, then Jim is quite literally the only way Brad can get updates on his father.

So they start talking and planning and communicating. And they communicate and they learn about eachother and they start talking more than strictly necessary and days or months or maybe years later, Griefer suddenly realizes that he's looking forward to his next conversation with Jim. He likes talking to him. He finds comfort with him. He cares a lot for Jim. A lot. Like a bird trying to rip out of his chest. Over the voice on his headphones who hes never seen before.

And if he knew Jim a little less well. If he maybe he were willing to beg a little more. He might've asked Jim to go and live in blackrock like his dad, or even go to Turitopulis to stay with him. But he knows who Jim is, and he knows who he is, and if someone had ever asked him to leave Turitopulis he would've socked them in the face. And even though he's calmer and more mellower than him, Griefer knows Jim would never think about leaving Roadtown for it to defend itself. And nobodys really manning the planes except for Jerry nowdays. So he never bothers asking.

But like a riving pounding against stone, the voices know they can't last forever and one day, maybe the voices finally got to him or maybe it was an act of self sacrifice, but Jim blows himself up. And all of the sudden Brad is left with headphones that emit static, no contact to Roadtown, and a sinking pit in his stomach. Do you see my vision here. Gripping myself.

I do think smoked cheese is an interesting character because. he seems to be very emotionally attached to the dark flour war, caring much more about it than anyone else ... it makes you wonder about his past ... what he lost ...

there is no denying the fact. you can say he was in beast-yeast 5 and 6, you can say he was in crispia 17 and 18. you can make countless arguments that no, actually, he is here. with the power of golden cheese's soul jam, he has been awoken, and yes, you're right, that's true. but he is not alive.

he is simply conscious. as he put it, a shadow of his former self. and being conscious, being conscious when you should be dead, getting to see what happened centuries after your ultimate downfall, and still having a say in it all...

you remember that sage from Vanilla. when you first met him, he looked ominous … a fortune cookie, he called himself. you scoffed at all the cookies who believed his lies about their fates … but honestly, you were a bit impressed. you flagged down that sage and asked him to teach you some skills. he replied that he actually could see the future. you, obviously sceptic, asked him to prove it. he did. you were shocked. you asked him, then, to tell you your future, but he only scoffed that you didn���t want to know. you didn’t think much of it then. he sounded like he was making a joke.

you remember the warrior from Dark Cacao. she was as loyal as they could get. more so than you would ever get. the two of you met when she mistook you for a spy and locked you up: you talked her out of killing you. you two became friends after that, because she thought it would be funny.

you remember the humble girl from White Lily. at least, that's where she said she was from. you found her picking flowers one day while waiting for a friend to return from their balloon expedition. she was homeless, but excellent at witchcraft. she was the strangest cookie you'd ever met. she let it slip that she had gone to blueberry yoghurt academy. that checks out - you've heard things about that place before. this girl was not like the typical schoolgirl, though.

thing is i dont fully disagree that amys personality has changed a bit over the years and that it sometimes feels like the writers are over-correcting for past mistakes with amy by writing her weirdly in other ways . but the way some people get like. actively angry over her crush on sonic being toned down and more recent media not placing so much emphasis on it and being more willing to explore other interests of hers really comes off like theyre saying "its actually a good thing for the main girl characters defining trait to be that shes in love with the protagonist" which is like . come on man. you cant be serious
