Steven had started his shift with butterflies in his stomach— not the nervous kind, although in retrospect, maybe he should have been more frightened of his night shift. More aware.

He had been happy. He had been so overwhelmingly happy in a way he hadn’t thought possible since the last location closed. He and Mx. Peyton had been dancing around the issue of their relationship for months, now, neither seeming willing to take the risk of ruining their friendship and working relationship over something as significant as admitting their feelings. Steven had been just about to work up the courage to ask if Spencer might want to grab lunch somewhere nice and borderline romantic when the other guard had just come right out and said that they felt things for him that went beyond the bounds of coworker cordiality.

Steven had made a fool of himself, blabbering on and on like always, but somewhere in the middle of “wow, really?” and “this is so neat!” he had managed to invite Spencer over to his little one-person apartment for breakfast-slash-lunch after Peyton finished their next morning shift. Everything had been going so right, which is probably why the night shift had ended up going so wrong.

It’s easy to get distracted when you’re fantasizing about the way those strong, silent types look at you when you talk, and it’s easy to screw up the toughest shift of the week when you’re distracted. It isn’t entirely Bell’s fault, though— the animatronics have been particularly aggressive all night, even compared to their usual Friday-night burst of energy, and all the practiced motions and careful conservation of electricity in the world can’t save him when they all show up at once.

He tries to call Spencer when it finally sinks in that this is the end, but he gets interrupted before he can finish. …maybe that’s for the best. What would he even have said? “Sorry, I’ll have to cancel that date, I think I’m about to get my skull popped through the front of a mask?”

Even being dragged through the hall, he can’t help but think of them. He knows they have the next shift, and that they don’t slack on their work, but if the universe is in any mood to grant a doomed man’s final wish, it won’t be Peyton who discovers his corpse. Anything but that.

So as much as I despise asking for money and asking for it gives me anxiety, I need help because I am in a situation I desperately need out of. And yes, I realize the starter goal is a lot but that is a safety net since with how much the price of housing has gone up. I can’t work because of issues and the career I want to do I can’t til I can get back into full time gaming. And my mom’s paychecks just doesn’t cut it, she works full time at walmart but her pay goes on her car payment which she has to pay on with both paychecks, the storage shed payment so we don’t lose our shit, the mailbox payment so we can get mail, she pays my brother for my internet and her share of the phone. She has to buy food for the house, us and our animals, get gas so she can go to work. But still it feels like she’s not doing much to get out of this situation so I am doing something and asking for help. So if you can please take a moment of your time and donate then share? The smallest amount helps, if you can’t donate then can you please share, that helps as well. I just don’t know what else to do and if I don’t get out to of this situation soon then ... I just don’t know. So if you can, please donate and share, thank you.

Hello, my name is AJ! And I still fucking hate having to do this but because my landlord is being a fucking prick, I truly need the help, we have til the 28th to move and we can’t bloody afford it, we lost our housing assistance cause we couldn’t afford to pay $3000. My landlord had said we could have an extension if we needed it, on the condition we were looking and fuck sakes we are but everything is expensive and at the moment, there is hardly anything for rent in a decent price rage. But now he is refusing it. And bad as it, it's coming from someone else because they aint allowing us to directly talk to our landlord. Which I’m pretty sure by law, we have the right to talk to. Which btw the loan on this place is still in my great aunts name and they told the housing assistance they were keeping our agreement we had in motion because they took over but they straight up lied because we are the ones paying the power, gas, water bill when they are supposed to because that’s how our agreement was. And let’s be honest, they aint fixing anything that we complained needed fixed. My bedroom windows let in the freezing cold cause they don’t close all the way, the over head lights in the living room doesn’t work at all, our dishwasher and stove doesn’t work. And WE pay rent and the late fee. And WE even said we’d buy the fucking place but they said we wouldn’t be able to get a loan because we were on housing. My mom is legit to the point, she is going to make them evict us cause she is annoyed with their crap. I just wanna sue them but that’s an issue within itself.

So right now, I have to once again ask for help and pray that I aint ignored..

Hello, my name is AJ! And I still really fucking hate having to do this but because I truly still need the help, I have to once again ask for help. I have until May 8th to move but even with all the help I’ve been receiving, we still can’t afford to move currently, and truthfully I still don’t know if we’ll find a place on time despite how hard we are looking. My mom’s work schedule is also making it difficult and everything that is for rent or for sale is more than we can afford without help. And as many of you already know, due to not being able to afford paying $3000, we lost our housing assistance so we have no help at all.

My mom is going to try to get a loan but I don’t know how that’s going to go, if we don’t get help in time, I’m afraid we may be homeless. Though my mom said she’ll try to get us into a hotel/motel so we wouldn’t be homeless but that’s expensive... And I don’t know if I truly want to live in a hotel/motel again but it’s better than being homeless cause if I do end up being homeless then I don’t know if I’ll be able to survive. I’m already dealing with constant anxiety and breakdowns over this, I’m on the edge of breaking a promise because that’s how bad my depression is. And I’m completely losing faith.

I also sorta blame my deceased great aunt who screwed us over by sending money to daughter who is old enough to take care of herself instead of paying the loan for the place. Like she brought us this place so we didn’t have to live in a motel anymore and now we’re possibly heading right back in that situation because our landlord is selling the place. 

But anyways, I’m definitely still going to need the assistance so if you could please be so kind and take a minute out of your time to donate and share, I’d really appreciate it. 🎭Spencer hopes they aren't too late, they know technically that they start their shift soon but regardless; they want to do something nice for them. So they sneak into the office, as they are well aware that Steve likes to come in early before their shift and say hello to the animatronics. They are planning on setting up a little 'picnic' since they'll have an hour before Steve's actual shift starts. It's not at all ideal, but it's better than nothing. They just manage to finish setting up when the other would finally enter the office. They didn't have a bouquet, but a single flower. Their favourite flower to be exact. "... Happy Valentine's day."

"...Spencer?"

At first, Steven assumes something's wrong (as any break in routine usually implies). It takes him a moment to take in the periwinkle hydrangea in the other guard's hands, and another to notice the little spread set up just behind Peyton.

"Oh-- gosh--"

A faint blush rises to his cheeks and he beams, wrapping in Spencer in a tight hug and giving them a small spin in what little room the office affords. He's careful not to crush the delicate flower in their hand, but he just can't help himself; he needs to hold them, to kiss their cheek, to calm his own racing heart with the steady thrum of theirs.

"Happy Valentine's Day!" he finally settles with his face pressed to their shoulder; it's the only way he can manage to hide his dopey smile. Steven has something planned for them, too, later-- a reservation at a quaint, romantic little diner far away from Freddy's-- but he never thought to surprise them at work like this. Spencer always knows just what to do!

"It's perfect. You're perfect. Thank you so much, darling."

He adores them.
