#delete later#deleting soon bc eyes on me#for those of you who kept asking about Something last year LOLLL#sorry this is too entry level vent comic ykwim i jst needed to get it out#im over it in the sense that like ok yeah whatever#but not in the sense that i came out worse than before. i was already Small. ive been further Smallened#i was a rebound and lied to and discarded...which thank god i was Set Free but wow!#all my personal fears reinforced. it is embarrassing for me to want and need...i get it neow. i was a stepping stone i am an npc#idk that i could do it again! im not sure its worth trying i am too much of a...project.#as i was told from day 1 but still ran directly into it#and i was too much of a coward to leave myself. if it happened again i wouldnt be able to leave then either.#im happy that i dont think it could get much worse than all that for my first experience but it was also exhausting#and weirdly at the same time i dont think i cld ever expect better#its almost been a year since its been Done and the words and treatment linger <3#this is also why i had to enlist talon as imaginary bf number 2 LOL need extra reinforcement and love#cringe as fuck but it rly will never be as good as whats in my brain...i know that neow. i will spare everyone the trouble#and remove myself from the dating pool (<- implying he was ever even in it)#i dont even hold any ill will toward em bc they were right...its just hurts ykwim

The book in your hands feels rough; the brown leather is covered in signs of abrasion from the careless use of its owner. Your fingers trace the insignia on the front cover. It’s stamped with a small bird, a sparrow, or a robin, perhaps. You open the book, and the once valuable parchment is stained and filled with words written in cheap ink and scrawled, messy handwriting.
Wilderness, day 1 after the escape
With the number of diaries I've stumbled across since I left Baldur’s Gate months ago, it almost seems mandatory to fill one of my own. It’s like a curse will befall those who don’t write down every fever dream and triviality of their sad little lives. Feels ridiculous to start with this nonsense too, but if I believed in signs, I’d probably assume that someone sent this book my way. The cover caught my eye, and I bought it.
Maybe writing will help, and if it does, the book will be of use, finally. I need to sort out the mess that’s my mind and something to keep my thoughts … under observation. I don’t have the slightest idea what the thing in my brain is up to or how far its influence goes. Sometimes I notice how it writhes and squirms, followed by the urge to take my dagger and slowly drive it in to cut the little fucker out of there. Let’s call this plan B.
I found the ill-humored girl on the beach again. Barely a scratch either. I wonder if I saved her life by getting her out of that pod or if she would have made it just as far without my help. She seems to be tough. And doesn’t like it when I try to touch that little toy of hers. Will have to be quiet if I want to take a look at it while she sleeps.
Anyway, the sword I snatched from the body of the dead commander looks better on her than on me. I like my weapons to be wieldy and fast. But I assume she’ll make good use of it.
Tomorrow, we’ll continue to search the area for anything of use. And a healer capable of dealing with mindworms. I kind of miss the creepy little fellow that led me through the ship. Saw some of them lying dead among the wreckage. It probably didn’t make it. Pity.

It's very frustrating to have a disability that is changeable. Because of period where I have high energy or means I likely wouldn't get disability pension but when depressed I can't focus for more than 2-3 mins and would likely qualify for disability but changeable=not qualifies
#about me#actually bipolar#so I'm on jobseeker with limited ability to afford housing. and i have obligation to look for work and get job but i can't speak several#days per week which means hard to get job. can't reliably answer phones. talk to customers. talk to managers#+ not being able to focus like how do data entry when i can't think numbers#and takes minimum 1 hour to shower. get dressed. brush teeth. which like isn't a lot but that's minimum#took me two hours the other day#when I'm sleeping 10 - 11 hours a night + nap in the day#when i can barely cook on my own and certainly not on hard day. which is often right now#fuck bipolar like seriously fuck this bullshit.

the best argument against capitalism is ao3. the second best is wikipedia.
volunteered labor (which makes up a massive portion of the internet creative force) drives wikipedia (and its parent, internet archive). people write articles to share knowledge (basic human drive); they correct articles to clarify things (see previous); they enjoy being corrected because it is comparisons that drive refinements (with "reality" in this sense being the control). free labor makes wikipedia the best encyclopedia out there; free labor makes it's resource/citation lists the treasure trove of links they are; free labor = celebrations of human knowledge.
ao3 does the same. people do not get paid in cash-monies for fanfic (ignoring nuance here for declarative purpose), thus freeing fandom from a financial need to exist.
but just because something doesn't have a NEED to exist, doesn't mean it won't. doesn't mean it won't create a creative space where people come to find precisely what they want, and engage in the communities that speak to them.
ironically, because ao3 is not driven by profit margins and capitalist-dehumanization, it is a better measure of what people actually want.
actual cultural demand drives ao3 content. just look at the fandoms that boom. people want more content; they want better, more progressive content; they want more diverse, more interesting representation.
why do we keep denying them and ourselves?
