Within it I could spy an assortment of trinkets, ranging from battered knives and chipped porcelain to fine jewelry, small ivory figures and even a set of gambler’s dice.
"Luck assumes a myriad of forms," he proclaimed...

I thought those dice sounded familiar...

hey come look at this thing I found in my notes app
Yk what fucks me up about tmagp and tma?
Here's the thing. we Know that in tma it was going to end like that regardless of everything. The Web or whatever would find a way to put The Archivist in the " right " tracks. but there's still some things that maybe could've been better? we don't know for sure but— there were some deaths, some disasters that maybe could've been avoided. it's the maybe that gets you, because we're not sure but what if? it's the hopefulness of it all, the fact that even if it could've been better it'd still end the same.
But in tmagp from what we know for now, it seems like everything is a deliberate choice. if there's any spooky power bullshit happening we don't know yet, but the things that Sam is doing— researching about the institute, looking for leads, going to the Magnus Institute Manchester ruins for fucks sake— and not only him but the others, Teddy choosing to quit, Alice choosing to ignore everything, Gwen wanting to be "in", they choose to do it. and we know from past experiences that it's going to bite them in the ass later. and they're going to think I shouldn't have done that. I could've done that. why did I do that?
It's almost comical you know? How, regardless of if they had a choice or not, they're still going to be asking themselves the same questions.

Anson Mount in "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Exploring Season 2" interview
Not being allowed to reveal much about Season 2, Anson was asked safer questions: he talked about loving Star Trek since he was a child, what makes Star Trek different from other sci-fi shows, the various genres episodes in s1 and s2 are exploring (the cast mentioning "taking big swings" in s2 and pointing to episode 9 in particular), and what it was like sitting in the Captain's chair for the first time.

In defence of Kazuki’s facial hair
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is Taiga-kun’s dad Kazuki’s role model for growing a goatee?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, not to be that controversial I don’t think K’s goatee is hideous. It signifies that he has moved on, he’s embraced a new chapter in his life to welcome with open arms including changing his physical appearance. And for a 39-year-old he looks really good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It has been said that facial hair is not welcome in Japan.
Though this statement is not entirely true. A well-groomed (well-trimmed) facial hair is fine but stubbles are a no-no as they symbolise a man’s sloppiness. Look at the male celebrities who can get away with it because facial hair is part of their identity. (I can only think of Tsuda Kenjiro at the moment as I cannot imagine him anymore without it.) Also, with the way the Japanese view orderliness wearing an unruly facial hair is deemed unkempt and lazy.
Unlike the western men, Japanese (and other Asians) don’t have the massive facial or (body) hair growth.
Tumblr media
Facial hair = hige
Wearing beards and moustaches have become synonymous with the Japanese history.
It is interesting because before the Edo Period it was encouraged if you were a samurai. The national hero Hideyoshi Toyotomi even faked his own beard just to be accepted and not to be laughed at. Still his mentor called him a “bald rat.”
Would Kazuki’s goatee mean ‘I love Japan’
But judging Kazuki’s goatee one could say that his was probably a sign of nationalism. Why? It’s all because of the shape of the chin hair.
Tumblr media
Fuji-hige 富士髯ふじひげ
Ago-hige is the collection of facial hair grown on the chin, upper lip, lower cheeks, and neck. The most famous style of this is most likely to be the "goatee" and is translated into yagi-hige 山羊髯やぎひげ (goat beard).
This can be taken a step further, too. Nothing says "I love Japan" more than trimming the hair on your chin into the shape of Mt. Fuji. Not surprisingly, this is called Fuji-hige 富士髯ふじひげ.
So yes, Kazuki, I see you and your somewhat patriotic goatee.

Why are they dressed up at the firehouse? (my theory)
TL;DR: Chief is going to run for mayor-Bobby is promoted as the new chief- Hen promoted to captain of the 118 permanently
The only time we've seen them dress up in their dress uniform is for either a funeral (Kevin) or for a passing probation celebration (Eddie). Now I would imagine dress wear would also be worn for any sort of commendation they'd receive for their hard work. But this is not something we've seen (although they deserve it) yet and honestly i don't think it would be a general like award for the team because the only thing that's been big enough to maybe warrant ceremony would be the cruise ship and the Chief would not give them a commendation for this. One because they went against orders and two because he's already stolen credit for it. Plus there at the firehouse and I feel like something like this would be done somewhere more public (like a city hall or something) but if the ceremony was only specific to one or maybe two people it would make sense it would be held at the firehouse. I'm also ruling out funeral cause I just don't think its that and theres no one to celebrate a probation with
I think it'll have something to do with the Chief and with Bobby. Now we know the Chief is gunning for the mayors job (politics oh boy) we've seen this in the way he's handled the incident with Hen (and the guys connections who he was protecting) and also in the way he took credit for the cruise ship rescue. Like Chief reeks of politics and so I feel like he's setting himself up to move into running for mayor (or any role within politics but Maddie made a comment about the Mayor soooo this is the path i'll choose) And I feel like Bobby is at the point in his career where moving up would make sense (I don't see him retiring ever). I feel like the chief has approached him and offered him the role of chief. I think they set up a ceremony with the ruse that Bobby will receive some sort of commendation for his years of service with the LAFD and so everyone has gathered for what they think is to celebrate bobby and it is just not in the way they think.
Chief announces he'll be running for mayor(moving to politics) and that in the transition period that Bobby will be being promoted to chief. Everyone is shocked but everyone is clapping and celebrating, Bobby get's up and makes a speech about his time at the 118, how they'll always be his family and that he's leaving them in good hands. Bobby then announces that Hen will be captain. This is a complete surprise as Hen wasn't expecting but then Denny, Mara and Karen appear and join in the celebrations as the news sinks in. Bobby steps down and says to Hen the job is hers only if she wants it and Hen accepts.
Also we get Ravi full time on the A shift as a fun little treat
Thanks to @buck-up-buck and @whollyjoly for letting me ramble. I also ramble in the tags XD

Curious add-ons, Episode 9 (Part 5): A minor theory
There isn’t much of a deviation from the manga except from some glaring additions and changes in dialogue.
Heimlich manoeuvre. Ron running to perform this abdominal thrust to Jumonji is much clearer than in the manga. That was a nice touch from the anime writers. Though I don’t know if it were counterproductive as Jumonji didn’t choke in the first place. The reason Ron didn’t bother as it was no more use and immediately confronted the culprit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Slowly, I am beginning to ride again on the “what Toto is hiding” train. The what-ifs are piling up. Well, I didn’t discount the possibility the first time I read the manga (I even wrote a fan fiction about it last year, apologies for plugging), but this crazy additional scene is giving me some thoughts.
First you have Toto examined Jumonji’s cadaver. That’s fine. That there was a squash ball hidden underneath his armpit… didn’t he really see it or refused to see it?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then you have this policeman, who immediately noticed that there was something odd about the “corpse” that Toto examined a while ago and had some nagging thoughts.
Tumblr media
Only to be thwarted by this intimidating fellow, who discouraged him to raise that question.
Tumblr media
The Leonid meteor shower viewing party invitation that Toto received and had been keeping the whole time… it feels like the anime writers would like us to focus on that. And then you have this scene, which gives the impression Toto is somewhat an accomplice to all of it. The members of the Moriarty Family are all over the place, you know? Does Toto’s grandmother even exist?
Okay, that is only my theory, but a theory nonetheless.

I came up with a theory regarding Fionna and Cake.
So the series seems to be based off of the alternate realities created by wishes of others. In episode 6, the creators said that the Baby World universe was created out of BMO's wish, and given how much focus there is about wishes, I thought of something.
What if each world Fionna and Cake go through are wish fulfillment scenarios from various characters?
Here's what I'm thinking so far:
Ep 1: Betty's wish (and I guess Wyatt) (Granted by: Ice Crown and Prismo) This is Adventure Time's main universe. We saw from the ending that Betty wished to Simon safe, sane, and alive, and we're simply seeing the aftermath of the wish here. Wyatt also got a wish that we saw.
Ep 2: Cake's wish (Granted by: Simon) Episode 2 and 3 are a bit strange, but it still makes sense. Both Cake and Fionna craved to be in the land of magic and Cake got her wish first in this episode.
Ep 3: Fionna's wish (Granted by: Simon) This is the episode where Fionna got her wish and managed to reunite with Cake. Honestly, I think 2 and 3's wisher can be swapped because it'd hardly make a difference.
Ep 4: Prismo's wish (Granted by: Prismo and company) I feel like the episode speaks for itself, but Prismo wanted Fionna and Cake to exist and this episode was centered around keeping them and their world alive. And he succeeded! For now, at least.
Ep 5: Finn's wish (Granted by: Prismo) In a early episode of AT, Finn wished that the Lich never existed, creating the Farm World universe. Later in the show, the main Finn actually went back to this world to destroy the crown. We're seeing the aftermath of that here.
Ep 6: Bubblegum's wish (Granted by: Prismo and/or Bubblegum herself) This one's tricky to know for certain. There's a lot of characters missing here since we're focused on the duality of Winter King and Candy Queen, but I think that's a hint to whose wish this could be.
The only person we're shown to have the brains to potentially "fix" Simon's insanity is PB and it's suggested things went the same UNTIL around 100 years ago when Simon was "cured".
However, PB hates magic. She likes solving things with science and it's possible she wanted the most logical, least intrusive solution to cure Simon as naturally as possible, but was stumped on exactly how.
The wish in this case might've been to learn just the knowledge on how to get rid of Ice King's insanity, but it ended up being only that. Just getting rid of his insanity.
It'd line up pretty well with Prismo's monkey paw effect, considering what happened to both of them.
Ep 6 Ending: BMO's wish (Granted by: Prismo) The baby world was said to have been caused by BMO who wished they could watch over everyone in peace and safety. Unfortunately I can't find a direct source to this, but apparently the creator said this.
Ep 7: Marceline's wish (Granted by: Prismo) This one's also tricky. The biggest difference here's that Simon presumably managed to survive the Mushroom War, but had no defense against the vampires, causing him to die too soon to meet Marcy.
I think the implication here might be that Simon never found the crown, but found a bomb shelter to survive through the Mushroom War. Humanity found a way to survive the war, as we saw in Islands, so this would track.
If that's the case, this may imply that someone wished for Simon to never find the crown to become Ice King, but still survive the war with the rest of the humans.
The irony here's that he still died anyway from the vampires due to having little to no defense against them without the crown, which would line up nicely with what Marceline could've potentially wanted.
Ep 8: Lich's wish (Granted by: Prismo) Everything and everyone organic seems to be dead. This was the Lich's original wish before Jake changed it, and we're seeing the aftermath of it here.
Ep 9: Simon's wish (Granted by: Simon) This episode hasn't come out yet, but what was established was that Simon's been wanting to go see GolBetty since the beginning of the series, and the ending of episode 9 suggests that where they went.
Ep 10: ???'s wish If I were to take a guess, I think this would probably be Jake's wish in the sense that life for everyone continues in the original AT's universe; the one that Jake's wish managed to preserve.
What do you guys think?

It’s season 6 but Maddie is still missing!
Even though all of the main characters have returned for season 6, Maddie is still missing from scenes that include all of the firefam and Athena.
#1 of What’s missing from season 6.
Tumblr media
Since the first episode of season 6 aired in September 2022, one of the many complaints from viewers has been “It feels like something is missing from the episodes”.  All of the main characters are back but one of the many things that’s been missing is the presence of one of the first responders whenever the firefam and Athena gather at the hospital and when they are together for celebrations and parties.  First responders include the police, fire and rescue and dispatchers (Yes, dispatchers too and Buck explained how the ones in California became first responders in 4x11 “First Responders”) but on 9-1-1 those first responders are also “found family” and that is the reason why it’s GLARINGLY OBVIOUS whenever one of them is missing.  Maddie returned in season 5 after she had been gone for 8 episodes but her absence from 118 gatherings still exists.  Actually she hasn't attended any of the 118′s social gatherings since 3x18 “What’s Next?” and her absence is noticeable because of her connections to the firefam, i.e., both her brother, Buck and her significant other, Chimney are both firefighters.  During seasons 2 and 3 she always participated in firefam related activities; therefore she is the dispatch center’s first responder who has the direct connection to both the LAFD and the LAPD. While she was away during season 5, May and Eddie were the connections because May is Athena’s daughter and Bobby’s stepdaughter while Eddie is an LAFD firefighter. But now that May is in college, Eddie has returned to the 118 and Maddie has returned to dispatch, Maddie’s absence from hanging out with the firefam has not gone unnoticed because she was present for firefam gatherings during previous seasons.
Season 2
Maddie did a ride along with Athena and Buck introduced her to Bobby while the 118 was on a call in 2x5 “Awful People”.  Buck, Eddie and Chimney helped her move into her apartment in 2x6 “Dosed” and Athena helped Buck search for her after Doug stabbed Chimney and he took her hostage in 2x13 “Fight or Flight”. She was at Eddie's induction ceremony in 2x18 “This Life We Choose” and that was also when Hen introduced her to Karen.
Season 3
She was at the hospital with Bobby and Athena after a 9-1-1 call led the 118 and Athena to the scene where a victim's baby had been taken from her by a crazy woman and she was at Buck's welcome back party with everyone else until Buck got sick in 3x1 “Kids Today”. Maddie was at the 118 in 3x10 “Christmas Spirit” with the rest of the firefam and their families for the Christmas party and she went with Chimney to the bar the 118 hung out at in 3x11 “Seize the Day” after Albert arrived.  Maddie was also at Eddie's house with Buck and Chimney when Eddie told Chimney the 118 was the family he chose and Buck told Maddie that he wasn’t a guest at Eddie’s house.  Additionally, she called Hen in 3x17 “Powerless” after Karen and Chimney got drunk because Karen thought Hen was cheating on her again. She was at May's graduation party with everyone else in 3x18 but that was the last time she participated in a gathering with the rest of the first responders.
Season 4
Her absence from being around the other first responders during season 4 could have been due to COVID but Maddie lived with Albert in her and Chimney’s apartment while Chimney continued to live with Buck until Chimney finally decided to go home in 4x2 “Alone Together”. When Maddie and Buck’s parents arrived in 4x4 “9-1-1 What’s Your Grievance?” she was there with Chimney, Buck, Albert and the Buckley parents.  She went to the firehouse in 4x5 “Buck Begins” so that she could talk to Buck but she didn’t interact with anyone else while she was there. Maddie had a conversation with Athena at the dispatch center in 4x8 “Breaking Point” about her fear of giving birth. Her PPD storyline started in 4x13 “Suspicion” but she was still going to work at dispatch until she quit her job in 4x14 “Survivors”.
Season 5
Maddie left in 5x3 “Desperate Measures” after she dropped Jee-Yun off at the firehouse but she returned to L.A. in 5x13 “Fear-O-Phobia”.  Since her return, she's only been with Buck at his loft, Chimney and Jee-Yun at Chimney’s apartment and with her co-workers whenever she’s at work.  She got her own apartment (even though it was never shown in CANON) and Maddie had a conversation with Albert in 5x13 after she arrived at Chimney’s apartment to take care of Jee-Yun.  When she answered Chimney's phone in 5x17 “Hero Complex” she had a conversation with Karen about Hen and Chimney being taken by Jonah but after the police arrived, she told Buck that she was going to the hospital so that she could check on Chimney.  She was never shown in that hospital scene and it was very noticeable by the audience especially since she said that’s where she was going. Only Karen was shown comforting Hen after her and Chimney had been admitted.  Maddie didn’t attend Hen and Karen's vow renewal in 5x18 “Starting Over” which was odd especially since she’s friends with them because they are close with Chimney.  Maddie also knows how important Hen and Karen are to Chimney; therefore her presence would have been welcomed. Her absence at the renewal also meant that she was missing from the cast picture that was taken after the ceremony.
Season 6
Maddie’s only been ONSCREEN with Buck, Chimney, Jee-Yun, Magda and her co-workers at dispatch so far this season. She was in 6x1 “Let the Games Begin” and she took one 9-1-1 call from Athena during the blimp emergency but other than that she was only onscreen with Chimney and Jee-Yun. In 6x2 “Crash and Learn” she was at the dispatch center training Noah.  In 6x4 “Animal Instincts” she had a conversation with Buck about the self-help book he was reading at her and Chimney’s apartment, she continued talking with Noah while she was at work and she contacted a lawyer so that Lourdes and Claribel could get the help they needed.  Maddie learned her password had been stolen in 6x5 “Home Invasion” and even though Athena was at the dispatch center, she was only there to arrest Noah.  The rest of Maddie’s ONSCREEN time was with Chimney, Jee-Yun and Magda but she didn't attend Hen's congratulations party even though Chimney and Hen are best friends.  In 6x6 “Tomorrow”, she didn't go to the hospital after Karen was injured to support Chimney which was interesting again like it was in season 5 because Hen and Karen are important to Chimney.  Maddie only took one of the 9-1-1 calls in 6x7 “Cursed” even though there were a total of four emergency calls that pertained to Felisa.  Maddie wasn’t at the firehouse for Hen’s welcome back breakfast during that episode either.  Finally, in 6x8 “9-1-1 What’s Your Fantasy?”, she was ONSCREEN at Buck’s loft, in her and Chimney’s apartment with him and Jee-Yun and when she took the one 9-1-1 call from the man who thought he killed his boss.
Other than her apartment, Buck’s loft, the dispatch center and the food truck she met Chimney at for lunch, Maddie hasn’t been onscreen anywhere else for the remainder of season 5 and for the first 8 episodes of season 6.  Her absence from firefam events has been GLARINGLY OBVIOUS and JARRING for the audience and it's also one of the reasons why things still appear to be off this season like they were in seasons 5.  She wasn’t physically present for the majority of season 5 but since May and Eddie were at dispatch, their presence kept the dispatch first responders connected with the police and fire and rescue. However, now that Maddie is present for season 6, her absence from the events included above are contributors to things feeling like they’re off this season.  It’s not the only reason but it is one of the reasons.
While it’s possible the actress, JLH, has a special filming schedule since she had a baby in 2021, it’s also possible that something else could be contributing to her non-participation in those firefam functions.  Her absence is either being done strategically for something that could happen in 6B with Buck or it could be deliberate for some other reason.  Speculations based on the BTS picture below show how she could be at the hospital in 6B with Bobby, Athena, Chimney and Hen because her pink marker is on the floor with theirs.  Bobby’s is blue, Athena’s is red, Chimney’s is bright orange and Hen’s is yellow.  It seems like they will be standing together looking through a window that’s outside of an ICU or they could be standing outside of a patient’s room inside of a hospital. Both Buck's (green) and Eddie's (white) markers are missing which could mean one of them is in the hospital.  Also there has been a BTS video that included Margaret, Maddie and Buck’s mother in the background so if the first 3-episode titles for 6B remain unchanged, then it’s possible that something might happen that will cause Maddie to be with the 118 again like she was during seasons 2 and 3. Otherwise her absence is deliberate and it’s just not being explained.   Hopefully she will start participating in found family functions with the firefam and Athena again during 6B so that her absence will no longer be an issue.

Quick breakdown and speculation:
Statement and Research assessment for artefact CD137
Probably a report from an Artefact Storage equivalent department
Viability as subject – none
Possibility of item being damaged by the horrors?
Viability as agent – low
Possibility of item directly harming a person
Viability as catalyst – Medium
Possibility of item putting someone in situation where the horrors happen to them
Recommend referral to Catalytics for Enrichment applicability assessment.
New department that didn't exist in TMA. "Enrichment applicability" implies they're trying to strengthen its effect - make it more powerful
So yeah, I tell you all about them, how I got them, all that crap and you just… You take them away, right?
...
You said you're specifically looking for, what was it, “supernaturally active items” right?
I wonder if they did this in TMA too. We never heard much about how Artefact Storage functioned. Maybe they were as active in taking in items as Research and the Archives were about getting statements.
CAT3RB3354-14101998-08032024
14101998 - 14th October 1998. About a year before the Institute burned down.
...I wonder how often they were rolling those dice.

Was mulling over the
“I just think this cube thing could help me” / “Are you practicing magic or losing to Bait at a game of rolly-cubes?” / “I know you love magic, Callum, but be careful - cause it can change people”
And on one level, it indicates that perhaps Callum going too far magic wise is going to lead to a catastrophe for him. The only motivation he’d have to do dark magic for would be the Moon fam coins, which I’ve discussed here. But the alternative of going too far primal magic wise, or even Soren’s statement if we take it literally for Callum’s sake, isn’t entirely clear. Being a mage is who he is (2x02) and has been until recently a predominantly positive experience for him. So how could it change him?
Well the answer there would be Callum being tempted by magic / knowledge / power, or some magical offering Aaravos could make him that would have Callum tempted to join the villain side. However, I don’t think this entirely works because of the introduction of the possession plot line, seeing as:
The possession is a major mark against Callum letting himself be tempted by anything Aaravos could offer; almost nothing is worth more to Callum than his agency, hence why Aaravos went after it in the first place
It would also lead to something that is overly repetitious and time consuming. Either Callum would get possessed again (because he has to, otherwise why set that up?) and then be broken free by Power of Love, and him teaming up with Aaravos (playing into his hands) would just lead to a repeat plot line of Breaking Free again
Or Callum would be tempted, break free of Aaravos, have the possession be exerted over him, and then break free again. Either way, it’s the same plot line, just for different reasons
With Viren and Claudia on Aaravos’ side right now, we don’t need a third mage added, never mind one who has no incentive.
The threat of Callum working with Aaravos longterm-ish by his free will presents the exact same dilemmas/problems as Callum being forced to work with Aaravos against his own will (possession) as well as the former overlapping too heavily with Viren and Claudia’s arcs
While magic and his loved ones are both very important to Callum, the show makes it clear in the season he is the most desperate regarding magic that he will only do certain things for his loved ones that he will not do for magical pursuit (“You can’t risk your life to learn magic!” 2x04)
I’ve touched on this before but the “Callum is manipulated by Aaravos through the mirror” and “possession” plot line are thematically diametrically opposed. You cannot have one and then also the other. After all, they could’ve had Callum just be freaked that he would apparently play into Aaravos’ hands, and not have him be possessed, finding another way around things (Aaravos signing and Callum acting as a translator, for example, or other magical things). But no, they chose to have Callum be possessed, and to heavily foreshadow Rayla’s role in breaking him free from it.
Everything is set up for the possession to be another form of manipulation, and an unsuccessful bid at that. The magic threatening to destroy his life won’t be enough to change him. Which still leaves the question: if possessing Callum is probably not going to be quite enough to make him play into Aaravos’ hands, than what is?

3rd/4th episode buddie theory
alright I already yelled about it in the tags of this post by @yramesoruniverse (which wonderfully lays out everything we can expect from Animal Instincts and which made me feel SO NORMAL <3) but I kinda felt like putting all my thoughts together in their own post, so here we are
the first post I made about this topic HERE outlined how the 3rd episode of the first 3 seasons (that had eddie and christopher on the show, so starting with season 2) had a big focus each on the buckley-diaz-family, but each defined and focused on a different aspect of that dynamic (christopher+eddie, christopher+buck and eddie+christopher+buck respectively) and how the only part really left undefined was the buck+eddie dynamic of it all
and then I made another post HERE in the time between 5x3 and 5x4 about how we both did and did not get that dynamic in 5x3 and my hopes about 5x4, but I never really did a full look at 5x4 after that, so I’ll do it now (when it is even more interesting because I get to add the insight the rest of season 5 brought to it as well <3) and then I will also talk a little bit about how my theory about this has changed/adjusted just a little bit!!
okay so, Home and Away my beloved <3 what a gut punch that one was! like chapel said in the third post I linked above, it was very interesting that we didn’t get a buck+eddie+chris scene in 5x3 (clever foreshadowing of the distance of 5a and the whole did he get to see his son?) and we ALSO don’t get one in 5x4, actually christopher’s not in it at all, so I was kinda right about the buck+eddie of it all I guess xD like with 5x3 we don’t quite yet get a romantic definition of buck and eddie here, but whereas 5x3 highlighted all the ways in which they were just simply not ready yet (with eddie only just breaking up with ana and at the beginning of his journey to following his own heart instead of christophers and buck miserable and lonely at the loft in his relationship with taylor) and 5x3 more being about eddie and christopher and eddie doing what he thinks christopher WANTS him to do (which he does fall back on later in the season) 5x4 really does go in on how buck and eddie, despite it all ARE each other’s person and understand each other and support each other in ways nobody else can (both the paralleling to madney and at the same time eddie supporting buck through all of it and understanding him in ways nobody else does and knowing what buck needs to hear - in clear contrast to both how taylor isn’t there at all for this AND how miserably she fails at supporting buck in the next episode) and how even then eddie (at the beginning of his breakdown era, which again beautiful foreshadowing) is chosing buck to trust with it and it’s buck who gets this first very very very oblique but still also kind thinky veiled cry for help from eddie (’this time, maybe she’s the one who needs taking care of’), so yeah, all in all I am actually SUPER happy with how my theory played out in 5x3/5x4 defining how buck and eddie are each other’s person but just simply not ready for any more than that yet <3
and okay what I found while writing all this is that I kind of want to expand this theory, because the 3rd/4th episode DOES define one of the major relationships in the buckley-diaz family dynamic but it also foreshadows the importance that dynamic will have in the rest of the season and what aspect of it will be of utmost importance and it is also always kind of twofold with one dynamic as the focus and a second part that comes with it!
(we have season 2 with the eddie-christopher scene and then also buck-eddie tentative friendship and we then see season 2 fully flesh out the importance of christopher in eddie’s life and buck tentatively stepping in to support him, but still very much on the outside, then we have season 3 and buck and christopher after the tsunami getting so much closer to each other and also eddie trusting buck with christopher and then that season really shows buck as part of christopher’s family and stepping up for him and understanding christopher and eddie trusting buck with helping with chris (as in the skateboard incident and buck planing the christmas at the station for chris and the conversation about summer camp) and then we have season 4 and future tense and all three of them as this little well established family unit but also buck stepping into a parental role outside eddie, while also being a little more on the outside (when he is only connected to the ending scene via his prank and phone call with chris) and we get that through the season EVEN THRROUGH the eddieana of it all with the babysitting in 4x8 and chris running to buck and then buck staying with chris in 4x14 because HE is chris and eddie’s family and nobody questions it for even a second that the three of them come as a unit but also both of these episodes had a focus on buck being there for christopher completely unrelated to his relationship with eddie and going full parental! (also that little snippet about parenting in parenthood <3) and then we have season 5 and on the one hand the eddieana breakup in 5x3 and eddie putting himself first and learning to not do what he THINKS is what chris wants and then him having to do that all over again with giving up firefighting for chris later in the season (and also all the ways in which buck and eddie aren’t really ready for the buckandeddie of it all in 5x3 and then later in the season with buck struggling in his relationship with taylor) and then we also have 5x4 and eddie stepping in for buck and catching him and understanding him in a way nobody else does and his thinly veiled cry for help and then later in the season we see that returned (although flipped around) with buck stepping in FOR EDDIE so easily and understanding him and eddie trusting him with himself more even than he does frank AND BUCK INDEED TAKING CARE OF EDDIE and yeah, season 5 was very focused on that aspect of them being each other’s person)
all this to say that YES I am extremely excited for Animal Instincts (which I DO think thematically counts as the 3rd episode of the season since the one before is a just-bathena-nobody-else-bottle-episode most likely which exists slightly outside the main storyline stream!) and for how I expect it to both give us the shifting relationship of BOTH eddie and buck with a growing and more independent christopher AND also finally give us that big final definition of the buckeddie of it all (since people have said it beautifully before that christopher’s independence also means he shifts out of his position as buffer between buck and eddie and they’ll be left with no choice but to focus on their relationship outside christopher and what it means to them and what they want it to be) so yeah, good things ahead, I am SURE <3 can’t wait to update this AFTER animal instincts airs xDD

I am refraining mostly from making assumptions about 911 seasons before they even start,
I have to say, that with all the bts goodness we're getting, some buddie altering changes are going to happen. 😌🙏
Also I love how much happier everybody look this season while filming.
It's like all of the S5 comparisons and special scenes that we got were all done, so that s6 will be like wiping the slate clean and starting anew with a more positive outlook, rather than the constant first seasons disasters and dragged undealt trauma.
Mind you, I'm not talking about Buck, I am dying to see where we meet him mentally. Because we saw him helping Eddie deal with his trauma but, even though he's probably back in therapy, we didn't get to see his end of that event.
I think that the episodes leading to Henren Begin will start with the Evil episode. Like the episodes that led up to Chimney begins, there will have to be a catalyst, some life or death situation that will force the flashback episode.
And I have no doubt that the last few episodes of S6a will be dedicated to our favorite boys, and I have to say that I'm pretty sure Buck will end up in crisis this time and we may yet get to see an out of his mind with worry Eddie this time.
Omg I can go on and on, but bottom line I am super excited for this season!! I can't wait!!

So how are we thinking Big is going to handle this whole thing? Will he sit back and let Porsche get screwed over by Tawan? Or will he help Porsche because he hates Tawan? I'm honestly not sure which way it'll go. I'm thinking the latter, given that we're shown him speaking out against Tawan. Y'all?
