titan returns with the stealer on october 3. to promote the song, they’ll film a studio choom be original video, a 1thek suit dance video, and a gap crush video in addition to their month of music show promotions.

on october 26, titan will perform a mini-concert at the base culture complex for its opening concert series.

titan will hold a special one-night only concert in seoul on october 29 called the re:al open to fanclub members only. the set list will consist of solely of the songs from their two mini-album releases this year plus “rpm”, “now or never”, “obsession, “bad”, and “love shot”. 

after finishing promotions for the stealer, the titan members will film a show called ‘stealer house’ [2], which will be a parody of popular dating program heart signal and the concept of the show will be for the members to discover the the two secret stealers (the leader and the main rapper) among them by playing games and using their ‘tricks’. filming will only take a day since there will only be two episodes. the episodes will be released in late november for fans as a close to the stealer era.

titan will be very busy with performances at the end of the year. they will perform at the fact music awards, mama awards, asia artist awards, kbs gayo daechukje, sbs gayo daejeon, and mbc gayo daejejeon.

most of lily’s tenth anniversary activities are over now as the year comes to an end, but they still have quite a lot on their plates to prepare for the next chapter of their activities.

in early october, the members have yet another campaign shoot [2] in their role as ambassadors for casio baby g. on december 3, they will attend a new store opening for casio in itaewon and on december 4, they will hold a fan sign there.

around the same time in early october, the lily members will be called to a meeting to go over the details of their next comeback, which they’ll already be making in january with a new mini-album. album recordings, choreography practice, album visual shooting, fittings, and music video filming will all take place in the fourth quarter. most of the preparation will need to be completed by early december so that the music video for the title track can be filmed in the second week of december.

on november 5, lily will perform a mini-concert at the base culture complex for its opening concert series.

lily will also hold a concert ahead of their new era and to usher in the new year on december 31 and january first. the set list will consist of the first stages of their next title song, plus these songs as well as “i feel you”, “candle”, “rewind”, “catch me if you can”, and “mr. mr.”. each member will also perform a solo stage. they may choose a cover or they may perform an original song they’ve released (such as a single or an ost). the day after they finish stereotype promotions, candy is gathered for a meeting. bc staff has been monitoring fan communities and although their crowned original song so bad didn’t perform well on the charts, it was received with enthusiasm among fans. as such, bc has arranged for candy to release a special, limited release physical single album of so bad and a new b-side, like this, in november. it won’t be an official comeback, but candy will appear on music shows for a week from november 11 to november 17 to perform both songs.

in early october, candy will shoot pictorials for elle korea and cosmopolitan korea’s november issues.

on their fourth anniversary on october 23, candy will hold their annual anniversary fanmeeting. their fourth year anniversary also means that members are allowed to begin to move out of their group dorm.

when they release their special limited single album for so bad in november, they will film a 1thek suit dance video for so bad as well to further get fans used to a maturing image of candy. an it’s live performance of stereotype, an unplugged version of so bad, like this, and i’ll be there, and a waiting room live video of so bad will serve to counter lipsycning criticism. the marketing plan is quite successful and candy earns several trending moments on social media and in fan communities during this short period.

quantumphase’s win on immortal songs last quarter has earned them quite a bit of newfound attention. it’s gained attention both from idol fan communities and some first generation idol fans who were impressed by their cover. they haven’t gone fully viral, but they’re going through a phase of being a hot topic online.

in the downtime between their last comeback and their slated next release next year, dimensions hopes to keep the buzz going by releasing a lot of content showing the members’ personalities onto youtube. throughout the fourth quarter, the members will be encouraged to film vlogs and a cover for upload onto youtube.

october will primarily be a break for the members of arcadia. they’re encouraged to use this time to relax, if need, or pursue individual activities if they prefer, though they will have to shoot for their seasons greetings during the month. by the end of october, they’ll be back to rehearsing for their base culture complex the opening mini-concert on november 5.

after that, most of the end of the year continues to be rehearsals. they’ll be holding a concert in february, as they’re informed at the beginning of october. the set list will consist of many of the group songs they’ve released so far, but will not include any of their pre-debut solo songs. they’ll also prepare a new song for the concert, which is likely to be a b-side on their next comeback (which they are told won’t be until the second quarter of next year).

on november 5, selene will perform a mini-concert at the base culture complex for its opening concert series.

on december 12, selene will film an appearance on immortal songs to air on december 17. they win the episode, making for their third win as a group on the show, the most by any idol group.

on the day of their first comeback stage, november 29, the members will hold a mini-fanmeeting outside of the sbs studio. during this time, they’ll answer pre-approved fan submitted questions on post-it notes off of a board provided by staff.

on december 10, they’ll perform at an adidas event in seoul along with fellow adidas ambassadors cloud and ultraviolet. they’ll perform “a lie”, as well as “sentimental” and and “immature” off of their mini-album release earlier in the year.

platinum are slated to embark on another tour next year with stops in seoul, the u.s., and japan, so they will begin to rehearse songs for that this quarter as well. the setlist is not yet set in stone, but they will mainly be rehearsing their title tracks from over the years and recent b-sides.

with both queendom promotions and crowned festivities over, the final quarter of the year is relaxed for equinox. gold star has ultimately decided it more beneficial to ensure equinox avoids overexposure and ride the attention from winning crowned for as long as they can instead of immediately banking on it by accepting all of the love calls equinox has received in the wake of their win.

two of their prizes for winning crowned were a special fanmeeting for crowned voters and a special exhibition at the base culture complex. equinox will hold their fanmeeting on october 30 with a halloween theme. all of the members will wear a costume to the fanmeeting and fans are encouraged to as well. they’ll answer questions, especially about crowned, play games, and give performances of “dazzle dazzle” and “queendom”.

once the base culture complex opens at the beginning of the month, their special exhibition will already be on display in the museum portion of the complex. this special exhibit will recount their journey from predebut to winning crowned and will include some of their most memorable stage outfits throughout the years, recreated music video sets, and never-before-seen behind the scenes footage, dance practices, and predebut footage. on october 14, the members will attend the exhibition after the complex (before its grand opening to the public) and film their visit. they’ll be expected to reminisce about memories the exhibition brings up. the video will be uploaded online as promotion for the special exhibition.

on october 9, the equinox members are pulled into a meeting with the rest of the gold star media artists and are told there may be articles about gold star media being under special tax investigation soon. they are told not to worry about any news that comes out and not to speak about it at all, directly or indirectly.

on october 15, they’ll hold a fansign outside of lotte world in their capacity as olens ambassadors.

-kill this love -jp ver.- is slated for release on october 12, but a few days before its release, it will be delayed two weeks to the end of the month, october 26, without any further explanation. in the days following the album’s release, the ultraviolet members will be in japan to film appearances on tv asahi’s music station and fuji tv’s love music. they’ll return to korea on october 30.

on november 5, ultraviolet will perform at a private event at paradise city hotel & resort in incheon for the hotel’s vip guestlist.

ultraviolet won’t make many public appearances as a group in november as they prepare to return to tour after several months on december 7 with a concert at tokyo dome. for this concert, they’ll switch out several of the korean songs on their setlist for the japanese versions and prepare new cover stages.

Oingo Boingo Former Members at Mountain Winery

With rare exception, I do not dance. It’s not that a dislike dancing, quite the contrary. But I feel extraordinarily self-conscious while doing it.

The exceptions?

I took an east coast swing class in the 90s for kicks, and I can’t even begin to describe how much fun that was, and how it informed any public dancing I did over the next 20 years.

Otherwise, it is entirely dependent on the music being played. For some reason, Will Smith’s Getting Jiggy With It was known as my song, and the ham in me could not let me audience down. And prior to that, my singular dance song was Dead Man’s Party by Oingo Boingo.

Freshman year, I went on a bay cruise with some classmates. The woman I was seeing at the time wanted to dance, and I was the right combination of drunk and seasick to agree to it. I could say I cut a rug, or maybe I did the white man’s overbite, but either way, that became my first “force him out on the dance floor” song.

I wasn’t an LA kid, so I was not aware of their legendary reputation of their live shows, so it never occurred to me to see them in person. With Danny Elfman gone and the remaining members touring as Oingo Boingo Former Members, this show seemed like the best opportunity to get a peep at their former greatness.

Before the main act took the stage, there were 3 opening acts. The Untouchables gave us a fun opening set of ska music, with a toastmaster who was wearing a toga for some reason. Dramarama came next, looking like motorcycle band with a Google project manager at guitar, and pumped out a short set of fun but unfamiliar rock songs before unleashing their big hit, Anything Anything. Closing the preshow were the Tubes, who unleashed a simply awful set of music. The lead singer’s voice is completely shot, unable to hit high or low notes, or even to stay on tune in the middle. Mercifully, the set was short, just long enough for us to research what an innovative and groundbreaking band the Tubes were 45 years ago, while enduring how awful they are now. Oingo Boingo Former Members could not come on soon enough.

One thing that never occurred to me before seeing them live is that Oingo Boingo is a ska band. Full stop. I went to a lot of ska shows in the 90s and listened to a fair amount of ska music, and Oingo Boingo is as ska as most of the bands I saw. I don’t know how I never recognized that about them before. Perhaps because I started paying attention seriously to them in the era when they were changing their name (to Boingo) and sound (to more rock).

Their current lead singer, Brendan McCreary, is kind of incredible. He does Danny Elfman’s songs justice, embodying the infectious joy and slight malevolence of the music. The guy can wail, holding powerful notes for an impressive amount of time.

The rest of the band seemed to take some time to warm up. They seemed stiff and immobile for the first half of the concert. But after their playful rendition of Halloween staple Monster Mash, everything seemed to loosen up. Not My Slave, We Close Our Eyes, and Dead Man’s Party were clear winners, a joy to watch with the audience pogoing away at their seats. No One Lives Forever particularly stood out in the back half of the set, a testament to the band’s power and fun.

Yes, I needed to get up and move around too. But the biggest endorsement of the night was the fact that I wanted to listen to more Oingo Boingo music on the way home from the show, the first time I have done that during the Year of the Concert.

Personalidade: Se perguntar diretamente a Yunjin como ele se descreveria, a primeira coisa que ele com certeza falaria é sobre sua aparência. Talvez seu jeito avoado de ser acabe ficando em segundo plano apenas quando o assunto é sua disciplina, que aparece em tudo que decide focar. Por ser a gentileza em pessoa, muitas vezes as pessoas ao seu redor ignoram a existência de sua teimosia e desorganização.

Conceito: Vergonha não é uma palavra que existe no dicionário de Eugene, e ele deixa isso bem claro toda vez que sobe no palco. Não vê problema algum em mostrar o corpo, adora escutar os gritos de suas fãs quando decide fazê-lo, e ama quando a empresa entrega algum conceito sexy para seu grupo.

Fofocas/rumores:

Não tinha certeza ate que ponto esse rumor percorreu a indústria, mas, quando ainda era trainee, seu nome foi envolvido em um escândalo de gravidez com outra trainee da mesma empresa. No fim, claramente era mentira, ele e a garota não passavam de amigos, nunca tinham nem dormido juntos (e ela não estava grávida), porém aquele susto foi o suficiente para que nunca mais quisesse se envolver em qualquer outra fofoca.

Em live, Yunjin afirmou que havia feito um teste de inteligência e o valor final foi 112, o que ele, com muito orgulho, afirmou que tinha pesquisado e descoberto que era um valor acima da média de inteligência. A verdade é que o valor dele nesse teste havia sido 90, valor quase abaixo da média.

BACKGROUND/HEADCANONS.

Antes de se tornar trainee em 2015, Yunjin havia colecionado muitas páginas carimbadas em seu passaporte. A primeira vez que saiu da Coreia foi com pouco mais de um ano, quando os pais decidiram conhecer a cidade natal de seus avós por parte de mãe, que haviam imigrado para a Coreia décadas antes. Claramente que Yunjin não se lembrava de absolutamente nada daquela viagem, porém as muitas fotos suas como bebe em Monaco sempre acabavam surgindo quando sua familia se reunia.

Depois de meses dessa primeira viagem, seus pais decidiram se mudar para o Canada quando surgiu uma oportunidade de emprego para seu pai, e lá o coreano ficou durante toda a sua infância. Não que os pais tivessem sossegado com as viagens, muito pelo contrário – com três anos foi para os Estados Unidos pela primeira vez, com quatro foi a vez da República Dominicana, seu aniversário de cinco foi comemorado em Monaco novamente, logo antes de completar sete o México entrou para a lista. Antes de completar seus 15 anos, Yunjin já conhecia a maioria dos países da América, assim como mais alguns da Europa.

Se alguém perguntasse qual suas melhores lembranças dos países que esteve, falaria sem pensar duas vezes que era as músicas que escutava enquanto estava lá. Talvez fosse por isso que gostasse tanto de acompanhar a industria musical do país que havia nascido. Não era difícil achar Yunjin aprendendo alguma dança dos grupos que gostava, ou pedindo para o pai lhe ensinar como tocar alguma coisa em seu piano. Foi por isso que por volta dos seus dezesseis anos que ele anunciou para os progenitores, do dia para a noite, que queria voltar para a Coreia para se tornar um artista famoso.

Por mais que a recepção a ideia não tenha sido a melhor do mundo, os pais concordaram com aquela maluquice apenas se ele provasse que tinha o que precisava. No ano seguinte Yunjin ia a aulas de dança quase todos os dias da semana, e, quando não estava lá, implorava para o pai para que ele lhe ensinasse a cantar. Obviamente não se tornou incrível em nenhuma das coisas em um período de tempo tão curto, porém já era o suficiente para convencer os pais que aquilo daria certo.

Com 17 anos e alguns meses, Yunjin virou trainee, onde melhorou em todos os aspectos e descobriu que era bem melhor em rap do que qualquer canto que ele tentasse, e alguns anos depois o I=FUTURE foi o responsável para que finalmente conseguisse debutar.

Kpop title track ranking: MONSTA X

In this series I’ll be ranking kpop groups/soloists title tracks based on my taste.

Perfect continuation for the Monsta X reblog dump I just did, I'd say! I actually made this list already awhile back but didn’t get to the comment writing then. And now I had to make some adjustments to the list, so that already tells that this is not a straight forward and simple one.

All In - This song was my first true love with Monsta X’s songs and it seems to still hold its place at the very top. Maybe it’s the nostalgia that is speaking the loudest here but I just can’t de-thrown it. AND can we talk about the music video? Oh this should have been a movie, the plot is so intriguing and engaging! 

Shine Forever - I loved this one from the first teasers onwards and I still remember so vividly the moment, when I heard the full song for the first time. I was so in love with it and so exited about the fact that I knew I would love it based on the teaser. 

Shoot Out - It goes so hard! Maybe I should honestly put it on the top but I guess the bigger nostalgia points save those two for now. But oh my it’s so good!!!

Dramarama - It is soo catchy! It just sticks with you. And again what a movie-worthy music video! And the boys getting their long-awaited first win with this song makes it all the more special.

Beautiful Liar - As it’ll become very clear reading through this list, the newer songs have not really been my thing. AND then this dropped. OMG this is so so awesome! The genre is so on point for me, I love it!

Follow - Let’s face it, Follow-era was terrible, there is no denying it, and that did taint this song for me for a long time. But now I can enjoy it to the fullest and I can now say it goes so hard and I love it!

Fantasia - Why all of these have to go so hard? Why does Monsta X have to have so many amazing songs? xD No, but seriously this one is such a bop too!

Love Killa - Again, this goes so hard and I love it, what else can I say xD

Fighter - Fighter suffered from coming after All In and the music video not continuing the story that was in All In the way I hoped it would. I will admit that I ignored this one for quite awhile. But yeah, I was wrong in doing so xD

Beautiful - Beautiful is just solid Monsta X, isn’t it? The younger me actually preferred the acoustic version and I can see why. But the regular version is great too.

Jealousy - Jealousy is great but it’s actually not the stand out song on the album to me (more about the stand out(s) later). 

Alligator - Oh boy did Alligator take awhile for me to not despise it. I mean come on, when the most prominent part is the alli-alli-alli-alligator over and over again, you can see why I was skeptical with it. Not the metaphor that I was looking for really xD Anyway, it goes hard too, I admit it, but I would rather choose one of the other hard going ones instead.

Trespass - Let’s face it, it’s not my regular cup of tea. The reason? The hip hop (and oh it’s going to be a theme here). But I mean eventually even the younger me who heard of them from a friend that followed them pre-debut ended up liking it. And that eventually led to me becoming a huge fan. So good on me xD

Rush - First Monsta X song that I was there to see as a come back as fan. Still on the hip hop side of things, so not really one to beat the later better-suited-for-me ones but not on the bottom of the list either! 

Gambler - I would like to call this and the next two songs the Monsta X drought era. I really despised all three but I guess this has the most potential with me. I guess it’s the hip hop again that rubs me in the wrong way but it has multiple nice parts in it. That’s something, right? xD 

Love - I mean, the chorus is great. What can I say, it’s the hip hop again.

Rush Hour - Oh wow. Nope. Just nope. The chorus tries its hardest but it has no impact in the middle of the rest. It’s just not meant for me at all.

In conclusion Monsta X songs are great until the drought era hit and I’m so happy that they got out of that with Beautiful Liar!

Yes, I need to shout out some amazing b-sides as prefaced earlier: Lost in the Dream - What a masterpiece. Mainly this was the reason for saying that Jealousy isn’t the stand out in that album. And I absolutely love that Kihyun’s high note! That’s Cheating(Unfair Love) - Song from a time when the b-side titles weren’t translated and we ended up knowing the name differently. This will forever be That’s Cheating for me xD Other than the title? This used to be my favorite song from them for quite awhile actually! Rodeo - Rodeo has an unexpected chokehold on me. Don’t ask, I have no idea why xD  All I Do - At some point all I did was to have this stuck on my head so xD Destroyer - Also from the album that has Jealousy. This is stands out from the rest of the b-sides excluding Lost in the Dream. Burning Up (feat. R3HAB) - Best thing to come out from the drought era for sure! I’m so happy I trusted them enough to give a shot to the full album despite the title track and ended up finding this bop!

hi nessa ❤️ i'm sorry for the late reply, school and work don't mix well, especially with finals coming. but i do agree though, wonnie needs to bring his pink hair back. his hair color during shape of love ??!?!?!? iconic, too. i feel like if you were to introduce monsta x someone for the first time, dramarama will catch their eye. the song and the music video???? top tier, if you ask me. omg pls you're not boring at all, i promise.

i really wasn't much into kpop at all, pop rock was my genre for a while. a friend of mine sent me a picture of changkyun and it went down hill from there. it did take me a while to discover them, i thought he was a soloist. then i found this compilation on youtube with their whisper challenges, i've been stuck since then i was crying and laughing at 3 am 😭 there's really no way out. my bias jumped from changkyun to hyungwon after i watched the mini series called "please find her", changkyun is now a bias wrecker. but in all honesty tho it's hard to have a bias with monsta x.

oh a new mbb? how long ago did you get into them? oof my favorite era for the group as a whole is fantasia. I think they did so well in that era. they were all truly beautiful. the most memorable thing about this era definitely has to be the sliding dance move. like? how’d y’all do that?? 🤔 but also the high note in the title track!!! how’d they do that???? however I am weak in the knees for love killa era hyungwon….the long hair, the amount of red he wore…it’s just so beautiful. 🥹❤️ this album is one of their best and one of my favorites, literally no skip tracks.

omg six years!! that feels like such a long time, I've been a fan of them for a little more than 2 years. loved them from the first song I heard (follow 🥰) and my bias has also been minhyuk the whole time but I love them all they've got so much talent <3

in some ways it feels like such a long time but on the other hand time feels like it's gone sooo fast! and omg hello fellow minbebe 🥺 i love them all too!! it's definitely what's kept me into monsta x for so long because it's really rare for me to actually like all members of the group so much. it's been great the last few years getting to see them all begin to thrive so much individually now too!!

favorite mx songs.. oh boy!! for b-sides it's gotta be see you again, underwater, miss you, #gfyl, no reason... they've (mostly) all got this yearning/sentimental energy that i really like for some reason!! for title track it's 100% love killa though, it actually surprises me that i never got sick of it with how much i've listened to it but somehow i think it just continues to grow on me with time. it's so good!! and i love the mv too i think it was so clever

favorite era though.. hmm!! it's hard but probably dramarama or alligator, i have super fond memories of both as dramarama was their first win and that time was just filled with those good vibes, and alligator had their first public broadcast win and the song was doing well on the charts :') there's so many good eras! but i definitely miss the earlier years where promotions went for months rather than the two weeks they are now :( it feels like they barely start before they're over!
