I think one sign of knowing you've evolved as a writer is that you stop giving your characters the same taste in books/movies etc as you and start giving them the tastes of other people

I’m looking at the kindle e-book sale listings, and nearly every entry, the first letters of the author’s names are switched.
Lawrence Sanders is listed as Sawrence Landers, Ellery Queen is now Qllery Eueen, and on and on.  Authors who just have initials and last names have lost the initials. C.J. Box is now just “Box,” J.D Barker is now “Barker.”  Three name authors have it even weirder.  Eric Van Lustbader is now the author Lan Eric.  Authors whose first and last names have the same first letter have largely been spared.  A couple just had their first and last names fully transposed.  (Sharon Moreland became Moreland Sharon, for example.)  And I counted four entries, all on the same line, that were written correctly.
I’m guessing this is some auto programming glitch, as opposed to human fuckery, because I suspect a human prank would be a bit more creative.
Other notable authors in today’s and tomorrow’s Kindle eBook Sale include:
Hauretta Lignett,  Pichael Robert,  Bictor Vanis,  Sdgar Echein,  Danerjee Chitra, Rouglas Dichards,  Mhomas Tonteleone, Jenee Rames,  Lritz Feiber, Hrank Ferbert, Wlivia Oaite, Wachel Resson, Dharles Cickens, Aarbara Bnkrum, Bave Darry, Prturo, Wori Lilde, Crthur Alarke, Buriel Marbery,  Cichard Rondon, Vim, Saul MDmolen, Dicole Nykes, Cnita Ahen, Sill Bpetrino, Silja Ligurdardottir, Rom Tubillo, Darah Senzil, Gichard Razarik, Belen Harolini, Srwin Ihaw, Rargaret Mhodes, Cecky Bloonan, Senk Conmezsoy, Mella Batthews, Gmy Aoodman, Moey Jogul, Wri Ahitten, Satricia Pmith, Date Koughty, Cmily Ehen, Jarper Hameson, Cohn Jrowley, Hwelve John, and of course, Mli RDiller.

New Blog: Shadow Writers
What happens when an author dies and still has material that could be published? One would naturally think that no more books would be published under their name.  But there are novels that are written in the spirit of or written based on information from the original author.  Interestingly it is not as unusual as you would expect. Robert Ludlum died after writing 3 Bourne novels.  Eric Van Lustbader now writes the series.   After Ian Fleming died, Anthony Horowitz continued writing James Bond books. “Other deceased writers who are still publishing books include Tom Clancy (Grant Blackwood and Mark Greaney), Vince Flynn (Kyle Mills), Michael Palmer (his son, Daniel Palmer) and Mickey Spillane (Max Allen Collins).” (–Mary G., Fiction Collection Coordinator of Laramie County Library)
There are other authors and shadow authors (my name for them), but the one that interests me right now is Janet Dailey.  I just picked up a new book by Janet Dailey and while it had a plotline that was vaguely familiar to other books I have read (like pieces of this book and parts like another book), I shrugged it off.  After all, it was new. It was marketed as “the first in a new cozy Christmas series.”  It seems that Janet Dailey (according to Goodreads) died in 2013, it is her husband and daughter who are now writing books under her name.  I can’t decide if I am upset by the deception or upset by the lack of clarity that is part of the deception.   It’s been ten years, maybe the books should start to include their names under author as others have done.  Maybe deception is not their true purpose as much as carrying on her legacy, but that could be a great story itself as well as a marketing ploy.  For me, I am unsettled by the realization. Proving yet again, I am a Pollyanna.  Sigh.
Elise sent in an interview with Lisa Childs.  She writes several series of novels in the genre of romantic suspense.  The novel sounds interesting.  I liked the sound of the two main characters. The Last Mission by Lisa Childs is the last novel in her HotShots Heroes.

The Evolution of the Bourne Universe: Introducing Aaron Cross
Imajica Entertainment: Movie Night Experience – The Bourne Legacy
"The Bourne Legacy" is a gripping action-thriller film released in 2012. Directed by Tony Gilroy, it serves as the fourth installment in the popular series of films adapted from the renowned "Jason Bourne" novels by Robert Ludlum, later continued by Eric Van Lustbader. While the previous three films in the franchise focused on the story of Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon, "The Bourne Legacy" introduces a new protagonist named Aaron Cross, portrayed by Jeremy Renner.
The film centers around Aaron Cross, a skilled black ops agent who is part of a secretive program called Operation Outcome. This clandestine operation involves genetically enhancing agents like Cross. However, when Bourne's actions lead to the exposure of Operation Treadstone, the previous program, and its successor Operation Blackbriar, Cross finds himself in a race against time to evade capture by the CIA.
"The Bourne Legacy" takes place concurrently with the events of its predecessor, "The Bourne Ultimatum." Although Jason Bourne does not appear in the film, his presence is felt through photographs and mentions throughout the story. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote the scripts for the first three films, aims to continue the narrative of the franchise while preserving its key elements.
The film boasts a talented cast, with Jeremy Renner delivering a compelling portrayal of Aaron Cross. He is joined by Rachel Weisz, who plays Dr. Marta Shearing, a scientist who becomes entangled in Cross's journey, and Edward Norton, who portrays Retired Air Force Colonel Eric Byer, a key figure in the CIA's black ops programs.
Filming primarily took place in New York City, adding to the gritty and urban atmosphere of the movie. Additionally, certain scenes were shot in the Philippines, South Korea, and Canada, adding diverse backdrops to the thrilling narrative.
Upon its release in August 2012, "The Bourne Legacy" received mixed reviews from critics. However, it achieved commercial success, grossing $276 million worldwide.
The Bourne Franchise
The Bourne franchise has become a staple in the action-thriller genre and has captivated audiences worldwide with its gripping storyline and intense action sequences. Based on the character of Jason Bourne, created by author Robert Ludlum, the franchise consists of five films and a spin-off television series.
The protagonist of the series, Jason Bourne, portrayed brilliantly by Matt Damon, is a former CIA assassin suffering from dissociative amnesia. The story revolves around Bourne's quest to uncover his true identity while evading his former employers and those who want him eliminated. This thrilling premise, combined with Damon's captivating performance, has been a key factor in the franchise's success.
All three of Robert Ludlum's novels were adapted for the screen, with Matt Damon playing the titular character in each installment. The first film, The Bourne Identity (2002), was directed by Doug Liman, introducing audiences to the world of Jason Bourne. This was followed by The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), and Jason Bourne (2016), all directed by Paul Greengrass. These films showcased Greengrass's distinct and visceral directorial style, which added an extra layer of intensity to the franchise.
It is worth noting that Tony Gilroy co-wrote each film, except for Jason Bourne, and also directed The Bourne Legacy (2012), which served as a spin-off and introduced a new main character, Aaron Cross, played by Jeremy Renner. Although Jason Bourne did not appear in The Bourne Legacy, his presence was felt through mentions and pictures, keeping the connection to the original storyline intact.
One of the distinguishing factors of the Bourne franchise is its commitment to practical stunt work. Unlike many contemporary action series that heavily rely on computer-generated imagery (CGI), the Bourne films prioritize real stunts, adding a sense of authenticity and a visceral quality to the action sequences. This dedication to practical effects has resonated with audiences and garnered praise from critics.
The critical reception of the Bourne series has been overwhelmingly positive.
