I might seriously do a nostalgia rewatch of the anime just because you keep posting about them , . anyway i would absolutely not mind getting little blerbs on every member of Sabertooth you've listed :3
Tumblr media
My god!!! These fucking guys!!!!! They came so far out of left field for me and I still do not have a good read on them they really came barreling it in the last two seasons huh!! Okay!!!
This is gonna get kinda long so all of it under the cut!! Thankyou very much for asking!!!
Tumblr media
We'll start with Minerva and man. Why'd she stop wearing make-up when she got redeemed?? Why her eyes so big??? Girl what happened you lost all your original character design huh???
I really didn't like Minvera at first, and I guess you're really not supposed to but she really didn't. Get??? Better?? She got worse and then we just kept going anyway. I really feel like we could have had more with her character arc, sense she was affected by the Regression Spell Doriate used, which we see clearly drag Grey's childhood trauma right back up in his face, I just think it'd be cool if it'd done the same to her? Give us a little hint at the abuse that caused her to be this way and the healing from that that inevitably turns her back around, you know?
Also just what??? Happened??? To her demon form??? I was unaware loosing an eye and going full incubus with several tattoos was so instantly reversible in the world of Fairy Tail. I feel like there should have been more there. But also instead of narrative plot we got a chill comedic break with her, Erza, Franmalth, and the Exceeds midway through about three episodes, and in one of those moments we get Lily commenting that she'd make an excellent wife so. I can't be too disappointed.
I don't think I have a sexuality headcanon for her, and I don't think she knows either. Romance is weakness so she never really had time to explore that part of herself growing up. In the New and Improved Sabertooth she'll have much more space to finder herself, I think.
Oh also she's recovering from a really bad eating disorder! She fell into it after her father left her in the woods, what and when and how much she ate became her only control. It took her a long time to really face and talk about it because admitting to something like that is another weakness and we all know how she is about facing those. That's why Sabertooth started having eating contests every year! Sting thinks giving her a big event to eat as much as she can at as a competition will encourage her to get more comfortable with eating. She'll never be discouraged from another meal when you win by eating, right?? Perfect idea Sting!
Tumblr media
Sting next okay Sting's really funny to me actually and I can't pinpoint why but he's just. He really gets a laugh out of me.
He's the only Dragon Slayer who Thinks with their Head I think he's technically Wendy's age but they locked all the main characters away on an island just so he and his brother could be Natsu's age because what kind of boy dragon slayer is a child he's gotta hit people he can't hit people with a 12 year old's fist He's for some reason The master of the new Sabertooth because he killed the last guy I guess he fucking killed a man can we talk about that he killed a guy on screen was he a shitty guy yeah sure but he was still a guy with a name and a face one of the Good Guys of this anime hard murdered and I feel like that's kind of a big deal we don't Do That a lot.
I really like Sting and Lector, they feel like Happy and Natsu but on more even ground. Happy just feels like a baby sometimes even if Natsu doesn't out right treat him like one the narrative sure does, but Lector? Lector's not a baby he's Sting's best friend they grew up Together they have the energy of childhood friends who are actually The Same Age they've known each other for life they're basically brothers you feel me? It's what Wendy and Carla should have been honestly.
Sting, like Natsu, gives me a lot of Aro vibes, but at the same time I do like the idea of him being romantically with Lector they're just so close and the times they hug get me every time. I'm fine with giving character's paraphilias but I'd need one specific to Exceeds. Demiromantic Asexual I guess? That'll hold for now till I come up with something else. He's also transgender He/They probably.
He also has ADHD like Natsu but medicated.
Tumblr media
Rouge time fuckin!!! Guy dude buddy guy!! I feel like this would another Meow meow if this fandom wasn't attached to Natsu by the hip all the time.
I don't know why but Rouge's Wiki doesn't have any pictures of him as a kid which is unfortunate considering his whole thing is every major stage in his life he grows his hair a little longer.
Baby Rouge had a buzz cut, Grand Magic Games Rouge had the It's Not a Phase Edgey anime boy hair, Tartaros Arc Rouge got the pretty boy ponytail, and Future Evil Gonna Destroy the World with Grief Rouge had a white string bean of a ponytail for some reason.
On the flip side of Sting and Lector we have Rouge and Frosch which is just. Absolutely wild. They don't feel like friends at all Rouge is a mother hen over this Cat Frog all the time. I can't tell if he's infantilizing Frosch or trying to be supportive but either way something about it feels weird and unbalanced compared to the other Exceed/Slayer relationships, especially sense Frosch is canonically 12 to Happy's 6. Another reason I really hate the 7 year time skip.
Rouge is the same Exceed Paraphillia as Sting, and is also probably a shotacon on top of that, to play with the infantilization of Frosch. I could also just see him identifying as Gay, Genderfluid He/She/They
Tumblr media
Finally we reach!!! Yukino!!! QUEEN!!!!
I remember seeing her and getting so confused because she looked so much like Sorano but no one was calling it out which this show LOVES to do when characters are related they really gotta tell no show those kinds of bonds so I was lost on her for a while.
Truth be told I think about Sorano a lot she is my most thought about girl in the series so most of my Yukino thoughts kind of just stem off of her sister, which I feel bad about because Yukino is just. So cute.
There's something about a character who expects things to go bad because they always do and then is still hurt by it and lays all the blame on themselves. Use enough to expect it, not yet given up hope of getting better.
I also just! Love celestial wizards! I wish we'd gotten more on her dynamic with Libra because really. Compared to the other spirits Libra seems so god damn normal. The spirits are weird let Libra be WEIRD we had a whole episode where we got to see the spirits one at a time and Libra was so NORMAL let her be WEIRD!!!
Also the fact that Lucy has more than half the Zodiac makes Yukino look super under powered, and that bothers me. The way the keys work bother me.
Yukino is Pan and Transgender She/Her for sure, also full of Autism and a little OCD.

Idk if the gush pass is still free to use but I wanna talk about my wife Erza and my husband Zoro x3
I have a new type and it's swordsmen/women. I fell for both of them so quick when I first started their sources and I married them quickly too ^^ (Especially with Erza as it was only 3 days after I made her an official f/o)
Erza and Zoro are both the type who are tough for the sake of their loved ones as well as for their own self security and I just want to be able to protect them while they're trying to protect everyone else.
They're so similar yet so different to each other in terms of their character ^^
I haven't watched a lot of Fairy Tail (Erza's source) yet as I'm only on episode 40 but with One Piece (Zoro's source) I'm almost caught up after watching it for at least a year!
The more I watch the harder I fall for them!
I'm not very good at gushing tbh but I wanted to try 👉👈
Take care! ❤️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course! The gushing pass is always open to anyone! Also there's no right or wrong way to gush- you did very good!! ^v^
It's really interesting that your two mains are swordspeople! I'm just curious- do you like swords yourself or is this just a coincidence? :0
And if they're protective- they'd probably be very protective of you too!! It's awesome that you want to protect them too! I know they really appreciate it!!! They both love you so much! >v<

Very biased ranking of all of the Fairy Tail Openings from best to worst
The order in which I'm ranking them takes into account my subjective taste, the level of replayability, sometimes also the animation that is going on during the opening sequence and just whatever comes to mind, feel free to fight me in the comments but this is my blog so i say I'm right. Mild disclaimer, I have not ever gotten past the middle or so of the second anime series, so I watched the later ops on youtube to rank them, but their places may be subject to change once I fully experience them when I get to those seasons.
This one is long so it goes under the cut for y'all
Strike Back (OP 16)
I AM RIGHT DON'T @ ME. THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN THE FIRST OP FOR THE FIRST RETURN OF FT. THIS SHIT FIRES ME UP. I CAN LISTEN TO IT OVER AND OVER, I WILL YELL SING AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME. BACK-ON KNOWS WHAT'S UP (<<<watched murder princess and got obsessed with the OP also made by back-on)
Snow Fairy (OP 1)
ICONIC. A CLASSIC. POINTS FOR BEING THE FIRST OP AND MAKING ME NOSTALGIC BUT ALSO THE PICTURE OF NATSU HUGGING IGNEEL AT THE END I- 🥺🥺🥺 In conclusion, really amazing first opening for the series
Towa no Kizuna (OP 9)
This fucker slaps SO HARD. It HYPES ME UP. And the visuals are spot on. I would rave to this.
Ft. (OP 3)
Amazing OP it's the reason why I became interested in Funkist. It fits Natsu perfectly even if this is an erza centric arc. Looking at the lyrics though, it still goes along with the theme of "we're here to support you" that Erza has going on. My only gripe is that when listening to the short version that plays every episode you can't appreciate how good the latter bridge is
Yakusoku no Hi e (OP 14)
For the last opening of first series, it's very good. I know most of the lyrics and i will belt out to it.
Ashita wo Narase (OP 22)
ok I'd never listened to this one but I dig it??? very interesting vibes, not what i expected from ft and especially from the zero arc, it slaps
Never-End Tale (OP 20)
Almost iconic. I think it lacks a little bit of strength, mostly due to the animated sequence, but it would've been an excellent season-ending OP. I do prefer listening to the full version, it has what's missing from the TV version. It also gets points for showing my wife in demon form <3
Tenohira (OP 12)
I do not like the Key of the Starry Sky arc, but the opening? Very nice, love me some 2000s soft rock
Egao no Mahou (OP 5)
It's pretty decent, i feel there's a lot of emotion in the singer's voice and I love to see Wendy introduced.
Believe in Myself (OP 21)
Very solid OP, not much to say though since it came out around the time I had quit the anime, but is definitely in the better part of OPs. I like the focus on Gray and Natsu during the sequence.
Yumeiro Graffiti (OP 19)
It's fine but nothing out of the ordinary. Replayable for a while. Sidenote, I think this one has a bit of a spoiler in the animated sequence, cause lucy is staring melancholically at Aquarius' key but an anime-only fan wouldn't know that it gets broken.
No-Limit (OP 25)
Interesting beginning??? idk how I feel about it but it's another solid op with a great sequence, I might end up really liking it when I get to this point
Evidence (OP 7)
I enjoy the piano and the first few verses are good, but I feel it doesn't have as much impact and it could do more. Very skippable. The animated sequence and the audio sync up very nicely tho.
Masayume chasing (OP 15)
I like it but not for extended periods of time and I do not think it serves the purpose of making the series return with a bang. Besides, there's something about this song that I find kind of…odd? like maybe it's because of the particular type of pop it is but idk, feels like this was a song that already existed and they just decided "yes, let's put it in this anime"
Sense of wonder (OP 2)
It's fine, but not that special in my opinion, I cannot listen to it over and over with each episode bc it does start getting tedious fast. However, I do think it helps represent the whimsy of the first few arcs when Fiore is supposed to still be new and "wonderful" for us. It also does serves its purpose of showing some of team Natsu's background in the opening sequence.
RPG (OP 4)
I get tired of listening to it very fast. It was ranked lower but then I listened to all the OPs and realized it's ok. Another mid OP. Also, I don't really understand why it's titled "Rocking Playin Game" and I need to know the reason behind that decision.
More than Like (OP 26)
I've mixed feelings about it, the combination of softer music with stronger rock parts doesn't mix particularly well in some parts, but is not bad and it's definitely better than some others. However, I don't think it lives up to what I would expect from the last OP.
I wish (OP 10)
It's…meh. I feel it is trying to energize people but failing miserably, perhaps the issue is the low volume. Can only listen to it a few times before skipping it.
Power of the Dream (OP 23)
First OP of the final season and it's not bad but I don't feel the impact it should have. The sequence is excellent. It unfortunately suffers from THAT ONE REPEATED BEAT THAT WAS USED IN ALMOST EVERY FUCKING SONG DURING 2016
Down by Law (OP 24)
Lame and boring. When I get to that season I will most likely listen to it once and then skip it. The animated sequence is soooo good tho, how dare they
Mysterious Magic (OP 17)
Very generic, even the animation sequence feels generic and like it doesn't encompass the arc like other OPs did beforehand, makes sense tho cause it was for the corrupted celestial spirits filler arc which is the shittiest
Fiesta (OP 6)
Boring like the other Plus+ opening but I do like the chorus, however I cannot listen to it more than a few times. Also, considering that the second half of the O6 arc is a little more serious since all the shit is going down, i don't think the upbeat music is that suited for it
Break through (OP 13)
Similar opinion than with fiesta, it has some good bits and some meh bits, doesn't manage to be outstanding
Hajimari no Sora (OP 11)
I do not like +Plus, at least not enough to listen to a song repeatedly, but this song? This song SUCKS, just boring ass cords that go on forever, at least the Fiesta op has some spice going on for it
Rock City Boy (OP 9)
It sucks it's lame, I HATE the attempted rap. It's trying a certain style and it does not work, I cannot listen to it more than once.
Break Out (OP 18)
This one is soooo boring that I had forgotten it existed, I even misremembered the sequences as being part of the 17th OP. It tries to pick up pace in the chorus but it doesn't work. I was gonna put rock city boy as the worst but yknow what? this one fucking takes the last spot
Final thoughts:
FT has a bunch of meh OPs :/ I'm not saying they're all bad, but the "I want to yell-sing this song" factor is not present in a lot of them.

A/N: Hello everyone, Happy Gruvia Week to you. I didn't expect that I would be writing contents for this year's event too. But I'm really happy to be writing stories about my favourite anime couples.
Hopefully, everyone likes it. This year the prompts were very similar to previous years. It had me in fix how to write content without making it a repetitive fashion.
Finally got an idea and tried to merge all those 7 prompts into a storyline. Hopefully, it convinces you all.
Thank you for reading and spending your time here.
----------------------------------------------
Main Pairing: GRUVIA
Summary:- Celebrity Gray x General Public Juvia, Modern AU
Words:- 2K
Currently, Fairy Tail Agency has arranged for a press meet to officially declare the facts of the new movie in which two of their most famous actors are going to be a part.
Gray Fullbuster, 25 years, tv artist turned actor and Lucy Heartfilia, 24 years, model turned actress, has signed up for this movie which is under the production of Straussl Inc.
As the reporters who out various questions regarding the details of this upcoming venture and some related to their personal life.
"So, Mr Fullbuster, tell us about how you feel knowing that you have been nominated for 3 categories of awards this year?"
One of the reporters asked and was ready to note Gray's response.
"I'm sure that I will receive the awards for best actor and handsome face. Also, my last movie 'Icy Days' has been nominated for the best movie of the year. But not sure about the 'Gem of the decade' award."
Gray confidently answered and smiled which made the female reporters squeal.
Lucy interrupted, "Not to ruin Gray's fantasy but my movie 'Starry Night At Stella' was a blockbuster hit. Myself and my co-actor Natsu Dragneel were praised by critics for our performance. So, Gray, don't forget that even we are on the race too." Lucy smiled which made everyone chuckle after hearing her opinions.
"Sure Lucy... All the best to you and Natsu" Gray told and looked at his manager, Erza Scarlet, who also happens to be Natsu's manager, to know when this press meet is going to end.
"Another 10 minutes" Erza gestured by hand signals.
Suddenly, one of the reporters from Magnolia Times shot down a question that took Gray off guard.
"Recently, there was a photo of Mr Fullbuster with a child in his arms. Who does that child happen to be? And is it true that you are having an illicit affair with someone, Mr Fullbuster?" That reporter smirked.
Gray remained indifferent and calmly answered him while his team members and staff panicked.
"Everyone in Fiore knows that it was a piece of fake news. In today's era of modern technology, it is easy to photoshop one's picture with anything and anyone, Mr Invel.
Even my agency owner, Mr Makarov Dreyer and my manager, Ms Scarlet have clarified about it. So, don't go digging the old hoax rumours."
Gray stood up and thanked everyone for their time and presence before dashing off to the exit where Lucy followed him back.
It was Erza and the production team who bid a farewell to the reporters before joining the actors in their cabin.
Once Erza reached Gray's cabin, she saw him tossing his coat and tie around the room while Lucy stood silently.
"Gray, I think you should disclose your relationship before it gets exposed in a bad way," Erza said calmly and patted his back.
"That's what I was thinking, Erza. I can't continue to hide this big news about my life for a long time from my fans. I will reveal this during the awards function." Gray looked determined and hoped that his fans would take it on a positive note.
"They will surely accept your relationship status just like how they received mine and Natsu's." Lucy encouraged him and patted his arms which seemed to make him calm down.
"Gray, tomorrow you have your day off then, on Wednesday, we will be going to Phoenix Mall for a fan meet up event where other actors of our agency will join us." Erza informed him and handed the invitation.
From the invitation, it was clear that this mall was quite near to his apartment complex. Moreover, it was arranged by Mr Makarov himself so there was no way of turning it down.
"Fine, I will get ready for this. Just send the car near the children's park no need to come in front of the complex." He informed Erza and thanked them both for their words of motive before he left them.
After half an hour, Gray reached the children's park and put on his disguise, cooling glass, mask and a cap to conceal his identity while he was dressed up in a simple t-shirt and jeans.
"Max, tomorrow's your day off. Pick me up here at 9 am on Wednesday. Bye."
"Yes, Mr Fullbuster. Bye, and Good night" The driver left him while Gray made his way towards his home.
The apartment complex in which he lived was one of the expensive housing in Magnolia. The higher the floor level, the higher is the cost and the higher is the security.
Till the 11th floor, the general public who did high order jobs lived while the next 10 floors were occupied by celebrities of various fields.
One of the perks of this housing agency was that their identity remains secret, not even their neighbours know about them until and unless the involved party discloses it.
Once Gray reached the 17th floor, which had two apartments where one was still vacant.
As he hit the doorbell of his apartment, Gray could hear voices coming from inside which brought a smile on his face.
The door opened and his eyes met the gorgeous lady who welcomed him with a beautiful smile that captivated him.
"Welcome home, Gray-sama"
"I'm home, Juvia," Gray said and got inside.
Soon, he removed the disguise and leaned forward to kiss her lips which she reciprocated back.
Once they broke off the kiss, Juvia hugged him and whispered, "I missed you, Gray-sama."
"Even, I missed you, Juvia. It's been a week since I last saw you and…." Before he could finish, both of them felt someone hugging their legs.
And it was none their 3-year-old daughter, Yuki Fullbuster, who resembled her mother but had father's hair and eye colour and his sharp nose.
"Papa"
Seeing his daughter's smile was enough for him to get distracted from his wife, then, have his undivided attention on his little munchkin.
Gray raised Yuki in his arms and kissed her cheeks and forehead who did the same to her papa.
"Yuki missed you, papa."
"Even, papa missed you, darling. Were you a good girl during papa's absence?" Gray asked her as they moved towards the living room.
Gray let her down who ran up to a table and tried to fetch her drawing notebook.
Juvia made her husband sit down and inquired him about his work as he looked tired and kinda depressed.
Gray convinced her everything was fine and told her about the press meet excluding the details of the rumours.
#
It had been 4 years since Gray started his acting career starting as an ad shoot model to tv artists then to movie star.
Gray, Natsu and Erza were childhood friends who did their schooling from the same institution till college.
It was during the 3rd year, Gray and Natsu got scouted to act as models for a tv commercial which they accepted readily as of then they needed some kind of part-time jobs to meet their ends.
Even, Erza thought that it was a good opportunity for them to succeed as the agency, Fairy Tail, was well known throughout Fiore and persuaded them to take up the offer.
Once, their commercials began to reach people mainly because of their handsome features and physique especially Gray got popular among the female fans.
It was during this time that Gray and Natsu had to move out of the college dorm so that they could work freely without time restrictions.
That's when Gray meets Juvia for the first time in his life. She was his neighbour whom he thought lived her boyfriend but it turned out to be her best friend, Gajeel Redfox, vocalist of Phantom Bands, an upcoming band.
Gray rarely started any kind of conversation with anyone. It was with the help of Natsu that they befriended Juvia and to date, Gray was thankful to his friend.
Until the moment he met Juvia, Gray was never keen on love or relationships.
But to him, Juvia was way different from the girls he had met in his college. She was modest and shy but a kind person with a large helping tendency.
Gray knew her personality and beauty had beguiled his attention and wanting to know more about her made him fall for her head over heels.
Of course, they would exchange greetings whenever they met while leaving the house together. Slowly they deepened their connection and exchanged numbers.
Due to her friendly nature, Juvia would invite Gray and Natsu over to her place for small weekend parties which she would arrange for Gajeel to relieve his stress.
At first, he was reluctant to invade a party meant for Gajeel but the latter happily welcomed them.
That way, they got acquainted exchanged their work details and stress with each other.
It was after a few months of that weekend party that Gray had offered Juvia a dinner date which she accepted after a week of thinking.
By this time, Gray gained quite a lot of recognition. The reason he called her out on a dinner date was to reveal that he has signed up as the main lead for a tv drama which was produced by a well-known production house.
Juvia was elated and congratulated and wished him luck. It was during that time Gray confessed his love for her and waited for her answer.
To his surprise, Juvia readily accepted him. He still remembers her words from that time,
"Gray-sama, even I feel the same for you. I was afraid to convey my feelings to you as each day our world was getting apart. I was determined to tell you today after dinner.
But to my surprise, I never expected even you would feel the same. I love you, Gray-sama."
After hearing her say those golden words, Gray got hold of her hand and kissed it lightly and asked Juvia to be his girlfriend which she agreed.
Once they reached their respective place, Gray kissed her lips and shared a hug before calling off that night.
The next day, both of them informed their friends about their relationship. Erza and Natsu were supportive.
But Gajeel was reluctant he wanted to tell Juvia how difficult it would be for her to date a celebrity.
She has to remain under the shadows. Moreover, if words go out then obsessive fans might harm her and she would be constantly under paparazzi's scrutiny if Gray's facing bad times.
But Juvia was ready to face any difficulties and wanted to support her boyfriend in his career.
#
Once the family had their dinner together, Gray tugged his daughter in her bed before planting a kiss on her forehead and wished her good night.
Juvia was washing the dishes when Gray snaked his arms around her waist and kissed her neck which made Juvia squeak.
Gray turned off the tap and turned his wife so that she could face him.
"Juvia, tomorrow's my day off. Even the night is still young. Moreover, I missed my wife…" He leaned forward and kissed her lips which made her moan against his lips.
"Gray-sama…."
"Juvia…." Both of their eyes were clouded with lust and decided to continue their passionate night inside their bedroom.
After an hour, both was them were under the blankets, Gray had his arm around his wife and hummed in her ears as she talked about her day with Yuki.
Juvia could sense her husband's hold around her waist getting tight. He did only when he felt insecure or paranoid.
Juvia turned around to face him who kept looking at her. She cupped his face with both of her hands which startled him.
"Gray-sama, what's on your mind? Spill it out. Don't go huddling up those stressful thoughts within you. Share it with your wife. I will help you lessen those burdens." Juvia conveyed her thoughts and smiled at him.
"This is what I'm beguiled about you, Juvia. You can easily find out my conflicting thoughts just by sensing my actions. I'm really lucky to have you as my soulmate, dear." Gray said earnestly and kissed her forehead which made Juvia feel special.
Then slowly Gray disclosed his fears about how the world will perceive his relationship and worried that this shouldn't cause any harm to either Juvia and Yuki especially.
After hearing his fears, Juvia cradled her husband and patted his back just like how she does it for her daughter whenever she has nightmares.
Gray seemed to relax from this action. Juvia assured him that nothing terrible is going to happen and just hope everything turns out well.
Suddenly Gray raised his head and questioned her, "What if things repeat? And this time to our Yuki."
Juvia's eyes grew wide, but she can't show her fear, at least, not in front of her husband for now, who himself was feeling paranoid.
"I'm sure nothing will happen. Let's have faith in ourselves and your fans, Gray-sama.
I'm just worried that your fan number might get reduced once you reveal your married status." Juvia voiced her concern.
This time it was Gray's turn to convince her, "Nah! Just like you said let's hope for the best. I love you and Yuki. Remember that, okay"
Gray smiled and kissed her lips, "Juvia, you are still warm. Wanna continue from where we left?" He teased her.
It seemed her Gray-sama was back to normal for now.
A/N: Sorry for posting it bit late. Hope I will be able to update for the rest of the event.

JUVIA CRACK SHIPS
List of my fav Juvia ships that don't include Gray-sama! Keep in mind I’m explaining my views of how their relationships could be if Juvia was not in love Gray. Remember Juvia x Gray is my OTP so please don’t get mad at me Gruvia fandom.
1- JUVIA X ERZA
Juvia is a beautiful sweet heart. Ezra would protect and cherish the hell out of Juvia as a wife. Juvia would do the same. They are both so loyal, patient and understanding with the people they love. I believe they would be so happy together. I don’t think I can properly put into words how perfect for each other I believe they are.
The scene in 413 where juvia is crying and Ezra is comforting her made me want to push their heads together! JUST KISS DAM IT! 💙❤️
2- JUVIA X NATSU
Juvia and Natsu are both so loyal and romantic. They both deserve so much love. They would have so much fun together. I just know they would appreciate each other so much because they both understand each other’s past loneliness. Overall just such a steeeammyyy couple 💦 🔥
3- JUVIA X LYON
Like I loveee how cute Juvia and Lyon look together. I love that Lyon would queen the hell out Juvia. They would be able to work well together since their magic is complimentary. Lyon is such a gentlemen but I believe he would be a bit more sassy with her if they were in a relationship. I don’t think she would be bored since they are so much alike. They could easily be best friends to lovers. ❄️ 💧
4- JUVIA X LAXUS
I just recently saw this ship and I loved it. I think Laxus needs someone like juvia to break down his walls. He would be annoyed by her a lot but he would deep down appreciate her. I think if she seriously tried to build a relationship with him he would respect her so much. He would see she is more than just her wild imagination and like being around her. I just think it’s an interesting pair. ⛈ ⛈
5- JUVIA X ROGUE:
I’m only really adding them because I wanted the list to have 5 ships. Lmao
But I like the idea of these two together. They would look hot together and I like the idea of them both being overprotective with each other. I like the idea of juvia rogue and frosch having a little family. Also I like that rogue would also be shy to juvias advances but he would miss when she isn’t flirting with him. I think I ship them because he reminds me of gray but either way the idea is just too cute!! 🐸 🌧

Chapter 3
“Did you have to bring everything you own?” Lyon groaned after loading another one of Lucy’s suitcases onto the carriage that Gray had hired to take them from the inn where Lucy had been staying to their new home.
“These are just my winter clothes,” Lucy said, “but I’ll be sure to let you know when I send for the summer ones.”
“Don’t feel like you have to.”
“You should be used to it by now, with the way Erza packs,” Gray said, laughing away Lyon’s complaints.
“That’s different, we’re engaged!”
Natsu tuned them out from inside the carriage. He rested his head on the seat, eyes sliding shut as the exhaustion from days of not sleeping very much, and eating even less caught up to him.
He awoke to the feeling of his stomach staging a full revolt. Groaning in misery, he covered his mouth and willed himself not to throw up.
“Is she okay?”
“She gets motion sickness,” Lucy explained, “Been like that ever since I can remember. She’ll be fine once the carriage stops.”
Natsu tried to say something to reassure Gray, who had sounded concerned, but all that came out was a worrying gurgle.
A hand brushed his, so lightly Natsu wondered if he’d imagined it, but Gray’s assurance followed it. “It should only be a few more minutes.”
“You could try icing her neck,” Lyon suggested, “That works for Erza when she’s feeling queasy.”
“Queasy? You don’t mean to say-?”
“Get your mind out of the gutter!” Lyon spluttered, causing both Gray and Lucy to dissolve into giggles. “I meant when she gets sick after eating too much cake.”
After months of self-imposed isolation, the sound of their laughter cheered Natsu immensely. Even if he wasn’t clear on what it was they were laughing about.
A moment later, he felt Gray’s hand touch his again, this time squeezing it to get his attention. “May I ice your neck?”
Natsu figured it was worth a try, so he grunted his assent, worried about what might happen if he tried to talk. Gray moved the hair away from the nape of his neck, replacing it with his hand.
“Ice-make: compress.”
The resulting mist was soothing against Natsu’s neck, the ice creating a welcome distraction from his misery. It didn’t cure his nausea, but it made it feel much more bearable.
“Thank you.”
It was all the words he could manage at that moment, but he hoped Gray understood he meant it not just for the ice, but for all the times he’d already come to his rescue.
“We’re here.”
There was a tinge of excitement to Gray’s voice, but Natsu didn’t dare open his eyes, preferring to wait for the moment the carriage finally stopped.
0-0
Lucy exited the carriage along with Lyon and Gray. She stared at the two opposing staircases with a frown. From her visit the previous week, Lucy knew each staircase comprised seven steps leading to a small platform, from which a shorter set of stairs ushered visitors to the manor’s front door. It was nothing strenuous, but given Natsu’s current condition, it might as well be a mile’s walk.
“How long is she going to be like this?” Gray asked, peering into the carriage where Natsu had remained, hunched over his stomach as his body continued to struggle against his motion sickness.
“It usually takes a bit for her stomach to settle. She’ll be fine,” Lucy said, pulling Natsu out of the carriage and trying to force him to stand on his own, which was no easy feat given the high heels that were part of the outfit her spirit Virgo had brought from the Celestial World.
Gray attempted to carry him in his arms, but Natsu protested, just as Lucy knew he would. So they compromised, with Gray offering Natsu his arm to hold on to for support. It was slow going, and Lyon gave up on waiting for them, using the other stairs to make his way inside.
“I remember him being more charming,” Lucy muttered, and narrowing her eyes at Gray she added, “and you being decidedly less so.”
Gray only shrugged, focusing his attention on helping Natsu tackle the stairs, “You know, this would go much faster if you’d just let me carry you the rest of the way.”
“You don’t have to help me at all,” Natsu replied, his lips pressed together stubbornly, “I can do it myself, you know.”
Gray snickered as Natsu lost his balance on the icy steps, “Of course you can, dear.” He switched his attention back to Lucy. “I asked the staff to prepare my apartment for the two of you. I’m not sure how long it will take to get it ready. It’s been a while since anyone’s lived there.”
Lucy frowned. Gray had called Natsu love at the auction house, and now he was calling him dear? He’d also been rather attentive in the carriage, his behavior a sharp contrast to the aloofness she’d experienced during their meeting. She had a bad feeling about where this was all going, especially with Natsu so focused on whatever was happening with his magic that he didn’t seem to care about anything else. What was he even doing in Isvan, and where was Igneel?
She chose her next words with care. “Are you planning on living there as well?”
Gray shook his head.
Lucy was about to move on to her next question when Gray cut her off.
“I’m sure you have a lot of questions, and I promise I’ll answer all of them once we have some privacy.”
They were already at his house, it’s not like she had any choice but to accept his promise. She rubbed her arms, trying to coax some warmth back into them. “Ugh, is it always this cold in Isvan?”
“No,” Gray laughed, “Sometimes it's colder.”
“Lovely.”
They finally reached the platform, but rather than continuing on to the next short set of steps, Natsu clung to the banister with one hand and Gray with the other, his breath coming in shallow pants. Gray stood next to him, looking bored but voicing no complaint. Lucy wanted to scream in frustration, and though she had half a mind to wait for them inside, she was wary of leaving the two alone together until she knew more.
“Natsu, can you please just let Gray help you? I’m freezing!”
“It’s only a few more steps,” Natsu pointed out, but Lucy didn’t feel like waiting any longer. She grabbed on to his other arm and pulled, ignoring his protests, until together she and Gray had lifted him over the remaining steps and into the house.
Lyon met them at the door carrying fire warmed blankets he draped over their shoulders. It felt heavenly, and Lucy took back every mean thing she’d ever said about him.
Gray disappeared for a moment, returning with a pair of fur lined leather slippers for Natsu. “Here you go, these should make it easier for you to move around.”
Natsu took off his shoes and replaced them with the slippers, “That is so much better.”
On her last visit, Lucy had been too nervous about her impending meeting with Gray to pay much attention to her surroundings. The only reason she remembered the number of steps was because she had counted each one off in her head to steady her nerves. This time around, she gaped at the large foyer, admiring the two elegant wooden staircases that curved gracefully to the second floor before following Lyon and Gray up the left staircase.
A large sitting room awaited them at the top of the stairs, furnished with plenty of chairs and couches, all facing three full-length picture windows. It was almost dark, but Lucy could still make out the outline of the mountains and at their bottom a darker area she thought might be a lake. She couldn’t wait to see it in daylight.
“Do you like it?” Lyon stood next to her, and when she nodded, he smiled. “Gray’s grandfather designed it for his wife. It’s one of my favorite parts of the house. Sometimes you can even see the aurora borealis from up here.”
The thought excited Lucy. She’d heard several people talk of the phenomenon, but she still hadn’t glimpsed it.
Gray walked over to the door on the left, “This is where you’ll stay. That other door is the entrance to my father’s apartment, where Lyon and I live.”
That same door opened, revealing two women exiting the apartment. They walked over to them with welcoming smiles. The older one reminded Lucy of Gray, with pale skin and short black hair that framed her face. She assumed that was his mother. Her companion was a beautiful girl with long red hair that came down to her waist. She wore a hird uniform and peered at them with interest.
“Oh boys, since you’re both here,” the woman said, “I’d like a word with you.”
“I should get them settled in-”
“Nonsense, I’m sure Erza wouldn’t mind doing that for you,” the older woman waved away Gray’s protests.
“Not at all. Hi, I’m Erza,” the red-haired girl introduced herself with a friendly wave, and the way Lyon moved to her side reminded Lucy of Gray’s teasing in the carriage. This must be the fiancée who loved cake.
“Hi, I’m Lucy and this is Natsu.”
“Nice to meet you and welcome to Fullbuster Manor. I’m Ur, Gray and Lyon’s Master.”
“Master?”
“Yes, I’m their magic teacher,” Ur explained to Natsu, “I can feel a lot of magic in you, both of you actually. What types of magic do you practice?”
“I have fire dragon slaying magic.”
“And I’m a celestial mage.”
“How exciting! Both are pretty rare.” Ur said, her mouth curving into an inviting smile. “Perhaps you’d like to join us for training while you’re here? It’s a bit too dark right now, but you can normally see our training hall from here.”
“I’m all fired up!”
“I’ll think about it, but I guarantee you won’t be able to keep Natsu away,” Lucy couldn’t help but giggle at how ridiculous Natsu sounded, saying his favorite phrase while using the feminine voice her celestial spirit Lyra had enchanted him with.
“Great! Well, I’ll leave you in Erza’s capable hands. You should have just enough time to get settled before dinner. I’m looking forward to hearing all about you then.” Ur waved, and Lyon and Gray followed her back to their apartment.
“She’s nice,” Natsu commented, earning an approving glance from Erza.
“I hope you don’t think me rude for asking, but what is your relation to Gray?”
“Oh, not at all,” Lucy tittered, scrambling to decide what to say that wouldn’t mess Gray up later. “He hired me at the employment auction this afternoon.”
Lucy figured she might as well say as much of the truth as she could, “As for Natsu, I’m afraid Gray wants to announce that himself.”
She changed the subject, “What about you? Did I hear you’re engaged to Lyon?”
“Y-yes,” Erza stammered, her face crimsoning as she showed Lucy and Natsu her ring.
“That’s a beautiful ring!” Lucy gushed, holding Erza’s hand up to the oil lamp’s soft light.
Erza seemed flustered by the attention, but also pleased. She opened the door of the apartment and led them inside.
0-0
“He got away from you?” Ur frowned at Lyon. “That doesn’t sound like you.”
“He used the crowd at the auction to his advantage,” Lyon shrugged, fiddling with the beads in his braid. “I’ll get him next time.”
“For your sake, I hope there isn’t a next time. Silver is already furious it’s gone on this long. Were you at least able to get a good look at him?”
Lyon scratched his head, pretending to think it over. “Not really, I mostly saw his backside. He had short spiky pink hair, and his clothing was strange. Definitely not from around here. Maybe Erza saw more?”
“No, she said about the same, I was hoping you’d have more information.”
“Sorry, not this time.”
“Well, go talk to Silver anyway, he insisted on a report. Invel complained about the hirdmen presence at the Auction, so I’m sure he’ll have more questions.”
Ur turned to Gray, “He’ll want to speak to you as well. Invel apprised him of your presence.”
Fucking Invel!
Gray met Lyon’s gaze, unsurprised to see a triumphant smirk that screamed I told you so. It made him glad to have heeded the advice. The smirk, however, was short-lived. A more nervous look replaced it, as Lyon went off in search of Silver, filling Gray with guilt.
Lyon might attempt to act aloof, but Gray knew how much he hated to lie, especially to Ur. Now, Lyon would have to lie to Silver too, and he wasn’t likely to be as forgiving. Gray promised himself he’d make it up to him at some point.
He turned his attention back to Ur, who was gazing at him expectantly.
“It’s something Farfar1 felt strongly about,” Gray said. And it was true, even if he’d never known about it until that day. “I was just taking an interest.”
“And it’s a good thing I did,” he continued, not giving Ur a chance to ask questions he might not be ready to answer, “or I wouldn’t have met Natsu.”
“The fire dragon slayer?” Ur’s lips pressed into a slight frown as she listened.
“Yeah, her. We met at the Auction, and it was just, I don’t know. Love at first sight, I guess?”
“Oh, Gray, honey,” Ur grabbed his hand and peered into his eyes, “You can’t expect me to believe that. Not after you’ve refused to even consider any of the other girls. I know about the ultimatum your father gave you, and I promise, I’ll work on him until he changes his mind about Juvia.”
It was tempting to let Ur fight his father on his behalf, but he knew it wasn’t fair to put additional stress on her and Silver’s relationship. Plus, he was an adult, or close enough to count. The time for hiding behind his mother’s skirts was long past.
Still, Ur was the one person Silver might listen to. Gray had hoped she’d be so excited about him meeting someone he was genuinely interested in that she wouldn’t question his story. But it hadn’t worked out that way. He’d have to find another way to get her support or give up on his plan altogether.
From a young age, Silver had taught Gray that lies were something he should avoid as much as possible. But he’d also said that sometimes they were a necessary evil. An effective leader, Silver had lectured, resorted to lies only after he had exhausted all other avenues, and he was wise enough to include enough fact to lend the lie an air of truth.
Gray thought about Natsu, trying to settle on a truth that might convince Ur of the lie. He soon realized it wasn’t as hard as he’d thought. All he needed to do was remember Natsu’s smile and how it had made him feel, or even the anxiety that had come over him at his motion sickness in the carriage. If he could get that through to her, there was no way she wouldn’t be on his side.
“I know how it sounds, but when she smiled at me for the first time. I- I felt something in my heart,” Gray moved their joined hands up to his heart. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before, Ur. I don’t know how else to explain it but love at first sight.”
Ur let go of his hand, her expression softening. “Sweetheart-”
“Let me have this,” Gray pleaded, “All I’m asking for is the chance to get to know her better and see if maybe she’d want to be mine.”
“You’re right, you do deserve that chance,” Ur said, offering him a tired smile, “I just hope you know what you’re doing.”
“Thank you, Ur.”
She pressed her hands to his cheeks, patting them gently. “How could I say no to my adorable student?”
“You should get ready for dinner, I’ll go tell Ooba to set two additional plates.” She walked toward the door, turning to him with an impish grin. “She’s beautiful.”
Gray looked away even though she didn’t wait for his reaction, surprised by the unexpected flush that crept up his cheeks at her parting words.
Yeah, he really was.
He hurried to his room to change his clothes, determined to speak to Natsu before they faced his father at dinner.
0-0
“I thought she’d never leave,” Lucy complained after closing the door behind Erza, who had promised to come get them for dinner.
“I like her.”
“I like her too,” Lucy admitted, “She just didn’t leave us much time to figure out what’s going on.”
Natsu sat in one of the room’s rocking chairs, swinging back and forth wildly.
“Stop that,” Lucy scolded, “that chair is worth more than everything you own.”
“That wouldn’t be too hard, seeing as I don’t have anything.”
Lucy studied him with concern, but shook her head, “Nevermind, we’ll discuss that later. Where did you put your envelope? We need to figure out what we’ve gotten ourselves into.”
Natsu knew nothing good would come from Lucy finding out he’d received more offers than her, so he changed the subject.
“How do you know Gray, anyway?”
“Ugh, don’t remind me,” Lucy raged, eyes shooting sparks at the memory of whatever had happened between them. “My father sent me here hoping Gray would choose me as his fiancée. The jerk turned me down, said I was too perky for his taste. Can you believe that? I mean, it’s not like I wanted to marry him either, but - What’s wrong with being perky?”
Natsu could absolutely believe that, despite loving Lucy like a sister. She’d been the only person besides Igneel and now, Gray, to take an active interest in him. He’d risk his life for her in a second, but he also knew that many people found her personality overbearing. The little he’d seen of Lyon and Gray made him think they’d fall into that category.
“I’m sure he’ll tell us more when he gets a chance,” Natsu stood up, stretching his arms above his head and examining the room they were in. It was the first time he’d set foot inside a residence since he’d arrived in Isvan, having spent most of his time hiding in abandoned buildings, trying to figure out how to search for Igneel in a strange country. At least he was lucky the language was mostly the same.
“Shouldn’t you be more concerned?”
Natsu turned his attention back to Lucy. “About what? I already said I’d do whatever it was.”
“You can’t just make promises like that, Natsu. People will take advantage of you.”
“You worry too much,” he said, waving away her concern, “I just wish I didn’t have to keep wearing these clothes, I feel stupid. Not to mention I don’t know the first thing about acting like a girl.”
“Well, you look fabulous!”
Natsu sincerely doubted it, but he appreciated the sentiment.
“Why were those hirdmen after you, anyway?” Lucy’s forehead furrowed with worry.
“I think that’s a longer story than what we have time for right now. Don’t you have to get ready for dinner?”
“It’s not just me, Natsu. Didn’t you hear Gray’s mother? You’re invited too.”
“That’s not his mother.”
“What are you talking about? She looks just like him.”
“Maybe, but they smell nothing alike,” Natsu said absently, his mind full of this fresh problem. Why would they want him to join the family for dinner? When he’d lived with the Heartfilias, he’d always taken his meals with the staff.
“Well, but isn’t your freaky magic on the fritz?”
“My senses have nothing to do with my fire,” he explained, “Are you sure about dinner? I never had to do that at your house.”
“You really have no clue what’s happening, do you?” Lucy looked heavenward in one of her over dramatic gestures that drove him nuts.
“I’m the one who’s with the staff, you are part of the family.”
“Part of the family? What are you talking about? We were both hired by Gray, weren't we?” Natsu paled. Suddenly there was the looming threat of forks to remember and napkins to use, all while wearing this ridiculous getup. Igneel had tried his best to instill manners in him, but Natsu had just never been that interested.
“Oh ho! Not feeling so relaxed now, huh?” Lucy watched him panic, her mouth twitching in amusement.
“What am I going to do? It’s going to be a disaster! You gotta help me!”
“Well first, I guess we should figure out what you’re going to wear,” Lucy headed into the room she had claimed as her bedroom, her suitcases already lined up against the wall.
“Can’t you just summon your spirits again?” He called out. If he felt uncomfortable wearing this dress, he shuddered to think of how he would feel wearing one of Lucy’s skimpy outfits. Not to mention she was several inches shorter than him.
“That’s not how celestial contracts work, I’ve already called on them today.”
“Your magic is weird.”
“And yours is out of whack,” she walked out of the bedroom, holding up a small piece of fabric that only she would consider clothing. “What’s up with that?”
“I dunno. I got sick right before I was supposed to leave with Igneel. Spetto took care of me, but my magic has been screwy ever since.”
“That’s strange,” Lucy muttered, “If we were still at home we could have searched my mother’s library. I doubt there will be much here that will be of help. Maybe Grandpa Crux might know something. I could try summoning him later.”
“Who?”
“Don’t worry about it. For now, let’s get you into this dress.”
Natsu held up the dress that Lucy handed him against his body. The skirt would barely reach down to the middle of his thighs.
A knock on the door saved him from having to put it on. Lucy walked to the door and opened it. To his surprise, Erza stood on the other side holding several items in her arms.
“Erza, you’re back so soon,” Lucy gestured to her to come inside, closing the door behind her.

Erza looked stunning. She had changed out of her hird uniform and into a cream colored long-sleeved gown that reached down to her ankles. Over it she wore a woolen apron dress in a deep shade of blue that was open at the front. It was several inches shorter than her gown, in the fashion worn by well-to-do maidens in Isvan. Two gold brooches attached the straps of the apron dress to the gown, with strands of colorful beads strung between them. A third brooch held the fabric in place, creating the illusion of a neckline. A light blue patterned belt added a splash of color around her slim waist. Her long red hair was tied in a ponytail knot held in place by an ornate hair stick.
She offered Natsu the items she was carrying. It appeared to be several outfits similar to the one she was wearing. “I remembered you saying you had no belongings with you, so I brought you some of my clothes to wear until you can get some new ones.”
“Thank you so much,” Natsu cheered, giving Erza a quick hug.
“It’s nothing, Lucy is shorter than you, so I figured her clothes wouldn’t fit you very well,” Erza said, seeming bewildered by his enthusiasm. “If you put on one of the gowns, I can help you secure the hangerok2.”
“Okay!” Natsu entered the bedroom he’d chosen for himself and closed the door. He heard another knock on their door just as he’d wrestled out of the dress he’d been wearing. Soon there was another voice in the room, male this time. He pressed his ear to the door to listen.
A voice that sounded like Gray’s greeted Lucy and Erza.
“Is Natsu ready? I came to escort her to dinner.”
“She’s still getting dressed,” Lucy informed him, “She should be out any minute.”
“Already? Isn’t it still early?”
“I, uh, wanted to speak to her before she met Fader.”
Gray wanted to talk to him? Natsu supposed that made sense. He still hadn’t told him what it was he wanted from him. Natsu hoped Lucy had just been reading into the situation like she sometimes did, because if not, passing himself off as a girl would be child’s play compared to what awaited him. What would he do then?
“What are you doing here? I thought you’d be with Lyon.”
“Lyon was... busy, so I figured I’d bring Natsu some clothes she could borrow.”
“Busy?” There was a momentary pause, followed by a muffled, “Oh.”
“Is something wrong?” Natsu heard the concern in Lucy’s voice and wondered what Erza and Gray’s expressions looked like to merit it.
“Nothing for you to worry about. Lyon and I were chasing a suspect today, and we lost him,” Erza explained, “The Chief isn’t happy with us.”
Natsu listened with interest, recognizing they were talking about him. Had Erza been one of the hirdmen chasing after him? He’d only seen Lyon before he took off, and it had taken all of his energy to stay ahead of him.
“I’m sorry,” Gray replied, and there was something in his voice that confused Natsu.
What did Gray have to do with any of that? Natsu had a vague recollection of having seen another guy before running into the building. Could that have been Gray? Well, even if it had been, he’d obviously not recognized him in his disguise, which meant nothing had changed.
Natsu continued to listen to them talk about how the Chief had yelled at Lyon and how Erza felt guilty because she hadn’t received the same treatment. As soon as they moved on to a different topic, he tuned them out, examining the dresses Erza had brought him with distaste and a little trepidation. Unlike his regular clothes, these weren’t fireproof.
All he could do was hope for the best and remind himself it wouldn't be forever. He selected a white gown and put it on with a dispirited sigh, covering it with a heavier crimson apron dress and opening the door to join the others.
They all looked up at his entrance, with Erza unfastening brooches she had attached to the inside of her hangerok. She approached him and fussed over him while he tried his best to stand still as she pushed the pins through both layers of fabric.
“There you go,” Erza made some adjustments before straightening up and evaluating her efforts. “That color looks lovely on you. You should keep it.”
“Oh, no, that’s not necessary,” Natsu was quick to protest, even though he appreciated her gesture.
“Nonsense, we’re friends now, aren’t we? Besides, it looks better on you than on me.”
Natsu guessed she wouldn’t feel the same way if she knew who he really was. This was a dangerous game he was playing, and he could only trust that he’d be able to find Igneel before this farce blew up in his face.
“Something’s missing, though,” Erza studied him with a thoughtful expression before removing some of her beads and attaching them to the brooches on Natsu’s dress with a satisfied smile. “Perfect! Don’t you think so, Gray?”
Gray muttered a response that even Natsu’s enhanced senses couldn’t make heads or tails out of, turning a moment later to bow to Erza. “Thank you for thinking of Natsu, I appreciate it.”
Erza nodded, her expression turning thoughtful as she peered at Gray, her eyes lingering on his hair. On his braid, to be exact.
Had Gray had that before? Natsu couldn’t recall.
“You should get going,” she said, clapping Gray on the shoulder so hard he barely missed slamming into him. “I’m sure you two have lots to talk about. Lucy and I can wait for Lyon together.”
Erza sounded almost giddy, but Natsu had no clue what had set her off. He peered at Lucy to make sure she didn’t have any objections before agreeing.
Gray finally glanced at Natsu, although he looked away the moment their eyes met. “I’ll have Ur talk to our seamstress about making you some suitable clothes.”
“Oh, that’s okay,” Lucy said, coming to his rescue, “I brought plenty of clothes, she can just wear some of mine.”
“I feel we might need to get some made for you as well. You’re going to freeze to death wearing dresses like that around here,” Gray laughed, and Natsu and Erza joined in.
“Shall we?” Gray gestured to the door, his eyes still crinkling at the corners. “There’s something I’d like to show you.”
Natsu nodded, following him out but feeling a little awkward now that he knew they’d be alone together.
0-0
Gray had been looking forward to this moment for hours, but now that it was here, he didn’t know what to do. How should he treat Natsu? Did he already know what Gray was going to ask of him? How did people do this so easily?
He offered Natsu his arm when they reached the top of the stairs, only to have him descend the stairs on his own, yanking his skirts up above his slippers and claiming he didn’t need his help. Gray could only smile at the defiant glare he’d glimpsed in his eyes. He liked Natsu’s independent spirit, especially given he was in a strange place and in the middle of what had to be a nerve-wracking situation.
He followed Natsu down the stairs, not sure what to do with his hands, which were becoming sweaty in anticipation of being alone with his crush. It made him wish he’d paid more attention to Lyon when he was first trying to gain Erza’s favor.
Gray had never given much thought to his looks before, but given the reactions of girls like Juvia, he figured he wasn’t hard to look at. That was to girls, though. How did he make himself attractive to another man?
He’d done his best, changing into his finest set of clothes and taming his hair with a comb. After some consideration, he’d worked in the traditional engagement braid that announced his courtship status, embellishing it with beads to make it stand out more against his dark hair. Hoping to make a good impression on Natsu and to send a message to his father that he was taking this courtship seriously. But maybe he’d just made himself look like he was trying too hard. Natsu certainly hadn’t given him a second look.
Gray led him out the front door, walking toward the ice sculptures that decorated their front yard, figuring it was far enough from the house to give them some privacy. Plus, it couldn’t hurt to show himself in a positive light. Maybe he could even impress Natsu with his molding.
It was only when Natsu shivered next to him that Gray realized he hadn’t had him grab a cloak.
“I’m doing a terrible job as your host. First, I forgot about your clothes, and now I didn’t think to make sure you had a cloak before I brought you outside. I’m so sorry, please take mine.”
Gray removed his woolen cloak, draping it over Natsu’s shoulders and pinning it with his brooch to keep it in place. “There you go, that should keep you warm.”
“Thank you,” Natsu bowed his head, “Won’t you be cold, though?”
“Nah,” Gray waved away his concern. “I’m an ice mage, it needs to get much colder than this for it to bother me.”
Natsu appeared skeptical, but his expression softened when Gray showed no signs of discomfort. “You know, it’s strange. I shouldn’t even be able to feel the cold.”
“At all?” That surprised him. Gray was a powerful ice mage, but even he felt cold sometimes.
“Yeah, my magic causes my body temperature to run hotter than other people’s. It usually heats the air around me to a comfortable temperature.”
“I didn’t know that, you’re the first fire mage I’ve ever met.”
“I can’t imagine too many of them would want to travel here,” Natsu said, plastering a smile on his face, but not soon enough for Gray to miss the tinge of sadness it replaced. “Even though it is quite beautiful in its own way.”
Natsu’s sudden change of mood puzzled Gray. He knew there was something to it, but he had a feeling he wouldn’t get an answer if he asked, so he changed the subject.
“I wanted to show you this,” Gray drew Natsu’s attention to the grouping of sculptures that he and his family had made during the Winter Solstice.
Natsu gasped, allowing Gray to take his arm and help him maneuver through the deeper snowdrifts until they stood in front of the first sculpture, a snow tiger Lyon had made. Next to it was a large trellis covered in roses which Ur had made. An enormous wolf, Silver’s contribution, towered over the others.
“How did I not see this when we arrived?” Natsu wondered aloud.
“In the sorry state you were in?” Gray teased, “That wolf could have come to life and attacked the carriage and you wouldn't have noticed.”
“Did you make all of these?” Natsu moved from one statue to the next, his hand extending out but stopping shy of actually touching. “They all look so real.”
“I made that one,” Gray pointed to his creation, a sculpture of the thunder god Thor holding his hammer, Mjolnir, in mid-swing. “This is my magic. I can make just about anything out of ice, so long as I can visualize it in my mind. Most of the time I make weapons I can use to fight, but I enjoy doing stuff like this too. It helps to hone my control.”
It pleased him to see Natsu admiring his sculpture, even walking around to examine the back of it. “Your magic is beautiful,” he complimented with a smile which stretched into a grin as he added, “but I bet you I could melt it without too much trouble.”
Gods, that grin. Gray was learning he was weak to it. And Natsu’s words felt like an invitation to a game, one he was desperate to play despite not understanding any of the rules.
“Is that so?” Gray raised an eyebrow at the taunt, “Those are some mighty big words coming from someone who could barely hold on to her magic at the Auction.”
He could have kicked himself when Natsu’s smile wilted in front of his eyes. He’d made his first move and failed miserably.
“I didn’t mean- uhm, I just wanted to-,” Gray struggled to explain that he’d only been trying to flirt, but he was a clueless pathetic mess. He was glad Lyon hadn’t seen that, he would’ve never lived it down.
“I don’t need your apology. Not when it’s the truth.”
Natsu turned away from the sculptures, avoiding Gray’s eyes as he asked, “So are you ever going to tell me what it is you want from me in exchange for helping me get my magic under control?”
Could there possibly be a worse time to ask him that? Still, Gray had put himself in this mess, he’d just have to crawl his way back out.
“I- uhm, I’m not sure how to start. I suppose short is best, since they’ll be expecting us for dinner soon.”
Natsu slipped him a curious glance, “I don’t understand what you’re acting so nervous about, I already said I’d do whatever it was.”
Gray was fairly certain that would change as soon as he heard what it was.
“Okay then, I’d like you to pretend to be my fiancée.”
“Except for that.”
“I know how this sounds, but at least hear me out?”
“Gray, it wouldn’t be right for me to-”
“Please hear me out?”
“This is insane,” Natsu frowned, but gestured for him to continue.
“Thank you,” Gray wrapped his arms around himself, feeling a tad shaky now that the time had come to explain what he wanted. “My father is the Chief of Isvan, and someday I will take his place. Because of that, there’s this stupid law that says I have to get married on my next birthday, which is in October. I tried to get out of it by running out the clock, rejecting every girl my father brought to my attention.”
“Is that what happened with Lucy?”
“Yeah, I thought my plan was working, but it backfired. When I rejected the last girl this morning, my father told me if I didn’t find someone I could accept as a wife then I’d have to marry her, and she’s the worst one of the lot. I can’t spend the rest of my life with her, Natsu. To me, that would be a fate worse than death.”
“Now you’re just being dramatic,” Natsu’s mouth twitched into a smile at his declaration. “She can’t possibly be that bad.”
“No, I’m not,” Gray objected, “I can promise you I wouldn’t be going to all this trouble if that were the case.”
“You’re still better off asking Lucy for help,” Natsu argued, “I’m sure she’d agree. She knows all about this stuff, whereas I don’t even know which fork to use or-”
Gray cut off Natsu’s protest, “You don’t understand, it has to be you. My father already approved of Lucy. If I chose her as my fiancée, I’d have to marry her. But he doesn’t know you. If you agreed to marry me, he’d have to find your family, and enter negotiations with them.”
“Hold up. Let me get this straight,” Natsu peered into his eyes, “You’re saying if I agree to do this your father would have to find my family?”
“Yeah, but don’t worry about that,” Gray assured him, not wanting it to be a sticking point, “We can think of ways to keep him from doing that. Maybe I could hire some actors or-”
“Are you crazy?” Natsu cut him off, his excitement such that he was almost bouncing on his feet, “I want him to.”
Natsu’s reaction left Gray dumbfounded. “I don’t understand. Are you saying you want to marry me?”
“No, you idiot!” Natsu grinned, punching Gray none too gently on the shoulder. “I came to Isvan looking for my father. He came here a few months ago, and I haven’t heard from him since. If you can help me find him, I’ll pretend to be anything you want.”
Gray bristled at being called an idiot, and the playful punch had shocked him, although he had to admit it was also a little refreshing. For most of his life, everyone had tiptoed around him. Natsu was apparently not planning on doing any such thing, and it exhilarated Gray.
He was eager to get to know the real man hiding behind the dress, the one he’d glimpsed outrunning Lyon with ease and who was bold or insane enough to pull off this disguise in plain view of his pursuers.
“It’s a deal then,” Gray said, “We’ll start working on your magic tomorrow morning.”
He was pleased that Natsu had agreed, although he was a little worried about what would happen once they found his father. But that was a worry for another day. They had to get through dinner first.
His excitement ebbed as he thought of what awaited them. “I have to warn you, my father won’t approve at first. It might get unpleasant. I’m sorry for that.”
Natsu shrugged, his hands moving up to his waist. “It’s okay. I’m more worried about my magic flaring up than anything he could say to me.”
“I won’t let that happen.”
He felt the urge to give Natsu a hug, but instinctively knew it was a bad idea. It would only end up being awkward. So he crossed his arms over his chest to keep himself from doing anything stupid, offering him an earnest smile instead.
Natsu returned his smile, and suddenly they were staring into each other’s eyes with neither of them looking away. Natsu’s smile grew even wider and Gray could feel the blood rushing to his ears, which were thankfully hidden by his hair.
“We- uhm, we need to come up with a story so that we don't mess each other up when we get in there,” Gray said, trying his best to hide how flustered he felt by the moment they’d just shared. “Something simple that’s mostly true is probably best.”
They discussed a few ideas until finding one they both agreed on.
“We should go inside.”
“Yeah.”
They walked back to the house’s entrance, Gray’s stomach tying itself up in ever more complicated knots at the thought of facing his father.
Natsu stopped just shy of the front door, pumping his fists in the air and crying out, “We’re gonna do great!”
Gray was so enraptured by the display he let himself believe it. He grabbed Natsu’s hand in his and led him inside towards the dining room.
Notes
Farfar is the name for a paternal grandfather
The hangerok (sometimes spelled hangerock or hangeroc) was a type of dress worn by Viking women and some other early medieval northern European cultures. The garment was shaped somewhat like a pinafore, with two straps over the shoulders secured by brooches.
A/N: I'm happy to finally bring you this chapter. It will be the last one for a bit as I will be working on the next chapter of The Red Dragon and those tend to take a while, along with some collabs that have been waiting for a bit.

Ships! (UPDATED: 7/13/2021)
THere’s my lovely ship list categorized alphabetically by fandom. I have multiships in some of these fandoms, just so you know and if a ship you like isn’t on here, it could just be because I’m not very familiar with the ship but you can still request it if it’s not listed. I’ll let you know if it’s a ship that i just... ehe >~< isn’t my cup of tea and can’t doing anything for you.
Ships in Bold are my ultimate OTPS. Non bold ships are ships that I still adore but may not love as much as the bold ones, but that’s okay, you can still request XD
NOTE: If you want a ship to change to where it’s trans x trans or cis x trans or anything lgbtq related, I’m fine doing prompts and stuff like that, I’m all for it BUT if you want me to change ships for transphobic/homophobic reasons, I won’t do it. Example, if you want me to change Dazai x Chuuya to cis female Chuuya x Dazai, I won’t do that because that’s kind of homophobic. That also applies to characters who are canonically gay and canonically trans. If you want me to detransition a trans character for a comfort reason or anything like that, I can do that because detransitioning does happen and is 100% valid so I’ll do that but not for any transphobic reasons.

Fairy Friendship Week 2020 Prompt: New Friends Pairing(s): Natsu & Romeo, Natsu & Jellal
AO3 | FF.Net
Summary: When Romeo shows up at Crime Sorciere asking to talk, Natsu has no idea what to expect.  He doesn't know him all that well and has no idea how he could possibly be of help, but once he hears what Romeo has to say he is determined to take him under his wing.
August 4, 2020
It was the afternoon lull, the part of his workday when the lunch crowd had returned to their offices, and only a few customers remained, talking over upcoming cases or nursing a loss in court. Natsu usually spent this period cleaning up, restocking the bar, and prepping garnishes for the evening shift. Meredy would often go to the kitchen to help Ultear, their cook, prepare for the evening meals while Jellal slunk into his office, exhausted by the effort of being social.
During this time, the bar was quiet, and that suited Natsu just fine. He still hadn’t fully settled from the botched intervention Gildarts, and Erza had tried to stage for him two days earlier, and Loke’s outburst the previous evening hadn’t helped matters either.
All Natsu wanted was to be left alone, but everyone was determined to make him grieve for his wife their way, refusing to understand that he was trying his best to move forward. How quickly he did that was up to him, not them. Still, he knew there was a point buried within their well-meaning meddling.
“Hey, Natsu?” Jellal called out from his office, “Can you take out the trash? The bags in both the kitchen and the bar look pretty full.”
“Yeah, on it.”
Crap!
He should have done that already. Looking out the window to see that it was raining, he muttered a curse and went off in search of his umbrella. Ten minutes later, he was carrying two large, overly full bags of trash. Meredy opened the door that led out to the alley for him, and he strode outside, holding on to his umbrella as best he could against the pelting rain.
Once again, he muttered a curse, realizing that he’d have to put down the umbrella to get the dumpster open. He felt someone grab the umbrella from his hand and hold it above his head and was astonished to find Romeo Conbolt standing there.
“Romeo? What are you doing here?”
Romeo offered him a small smile, but it wasn’t hard to see something was wrong.
“Can I talk to you?”
This is perfect! Macao just bailed on us, something about Romeo, wasn’t really paying attention...
Natsu recalled the words Gildarts had mentioned in passing on Sunday and had an immediate suspicion that the two things were related. He didn’t know Romeo all that well, had only really talked to him at the Dads Club meetings, but Atlas had taken an immediate liking to him, and they had chatted a few times.
He opened the dumpster and deposited the bags inside, the lid making a loud clank when he urged it shut. Natsu wanted to say he was in the middle of a work shift and suggest they talk later, but he couldn’t get the words out of his mouth. Romeo was soaked, making him realize that whatever the teen wanted to speak to him about was serious enough for him to stand in that smelly alley in the rain, just on the off chance that he would come out. He couldn’t just send him away.
Natsu sighed to himself, hoping Jellal was in a good mood.
“Come on, you’re going to catch your death out here,” he recovered his umbrella and led Romeo inside the building.
Natsu liked working at Crime Sorciere, but he’d never thought the place was all that impressive, so it amused him to see Romeo gawk at it. He led him to one of the booths furthest away from the bar.
“Sit here,” he ordered, “ I’ll be right back.”
“Meredy?” Natsu called out as he entered the storeroom in search of some towels.
“Yeah, what?”
“Can you make a couple of mugs of hot cocoa?”
“You got it!” Meredy replied, and he heard her asking Ultear for help.
Natsu hurried back to Romeo, handing him the towels and fighting off the instinct to help him as he would his own son. He was tempted to turn on the fireplace, but he knew Jellal would have a fit if he did, so the hot cocoa would have to do.
He sat across from the boy, hiding a smile at his awkward attempt to dry himself off. “So, uhm, what brings you here?”
“I don’t know what to do.”
Natsu waited for him to say something more, but Romeo only stared at him with wide, pleading eyes.
“Uhm, should I call your dad for you?”
“NO!” he yelled, and then in a quieter voice, “Please don’t do that.”
“Alright, I won’t call him,” Natsu winced, looking around to see that the remaining customers were openly staring at them. He offered them a confident smile and turned back to Romeo, “But you need to tell me what’s going on, okay?”
Romeo nodded, leaning in towards Natsu, and in a voice so quiet that Natsu had to strain to hear it, he said, “I kinda got a girl pregnant.”
“YOU WHAT?!” It was Natsu’s turn to yell, and once again, everyone’s attention was fixed on them.
“What is going on out here?”
Jellal came out of his office, looking annoyed, and heading straight for Natsu.
“Dragneel,” Jellal stopped in his tracks when he saw who his bartender was sitting with. “Why is there a minor in my bar?”
“Relax, Jellal. He’s not in the bar area. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
Jellal walked to the booth and peered at Romeo. “Hey, aren’t you one of my little sister’s friends?”
“Y-ess, Sir,” Romeo stuttered, looking utterly terrified.
Jellal nudged Natsu to move over and sat down across from Romeo, “How’s she doing? I haven’t seen her in a few weeks.”
“She’s f-fine.”
“She should be at that meeting tonight that I told you about,” Natsu reminded him, “She babysits the kids there. Romeo does too.”
For a moment, Natsu panicked, worrying that the girl he was referring to could possibly be Wendy. Why else would Romeo come to talk to him? Or flip out at Jellal’s presence, for that matter?
“It’s not Wendy,” Romeo blurted out.
“Oh, thank god!” Natsu exclaimed, his relief palpable. The idea of having to mediate between Makarov, Laxus, Gildarts, and all the other members of his rather insane adoptive family over someone they all felt so protective of had terrified the shit out of him. Not to mention Jellal, who was also incredibly protective of his sister.
“What’s not Wendy?” Jellal asked, his curiosity aroused but quickly diverted by Meredy’s arrival. She bore a tray with 3 mugs of hot cocoa and handed one to each of them.
“I put extra whipped cream on yours,” she winked at Jellal before walking away, checking on the remaining customers taking her place behind the bar.
“Uhm…" Natsu peered at Romeo, not wanting to reveal his secret, hoping the boy would do so himself. He could use some backup.
"My girlfriend is pregnant," Romeo explained quietly, eyes glued to the cup of cocoa on the table in front of him.
“You’re like 15! Are you even old enough to get laid?!” Jellal blurted out, and Natsu elbowed him under the table.
"14…“ Romeo squeaked, looking like he could slide under the table at any moment, "I'm 14. My birthday isn’t for another few weeks."
“Christ! Didn’t anyone teach you about protection?!” Jellal scolded.
“We were careful!” Romeo insisted, trying to defend himself against Jellal’s disapproval, but then he lowered his head, and added in a much smaller voice, “most of the time.”
“Most of the time?” Jellal echoed in disbelief.
“Will you stop?” Natsu snapped at Jellal, remembering how terrified he’d been when he’d found out Lisanna was pregnant with Hana, and he’d been several years older. “That seriously isn’t helping.”
Jellal grunted but didn’t say anything else, letting Natsu take the lead.
“So, you wanted to talk to me because I had kids when I was pretty young?” Natsu guessed.
Romeo nodded. "My girlfriend and I both agreed that we want to keep it, but I have no idea what to expect. I tried talking to my dad, but it didn't go too well."
“You probably just caught him by surprise.” Natsu assured him, “I'm sure he'll come around. I mean, he runs a support club for dads, doesn’t he?”
“I dunno about that,” Romeo mumbled, “He was pretty mad…”
“They cry a lot,” Jellal rejoined the conversation, and when both Natsu and Romeo peered at him in confusion, he added with a half shrug, “He wanted to know what to expect.”
“That’s the one thing I remember about Wendy as a baby,” Jellal revealed, “I could never seem to figure out what she wanted, and I remember thinking maybe she was just crying over our parents’ death.”
Natsu stared at his boss for a moment, absorbing what he’d said and shaking his head. “I worry about you.”
Jellal seemed uncomfortable, so Natsu let it go and turned his attention back to Romeo.
“It’s true, infants do cry a lot, but they do a lot of other stuff too,” Natsu agreed, recalling Hana’s first days, even though those types of thoughts brought him more pain than joy these days. “My situation was a little different, though.”
Natsu had been eighteen when Lisanna had gotten pregnant, and they’d already been living together in a small apartment in Edolas. And while he had indeed been absolutely terrified when he’d found out, he’d also had no qualms about asking her to marry him or about working two jobs so that she could stay home with Hana and then Atlas. They’d been unbelievably happy until she’d…
He immediately shut that thought down, the pain too much for him to bear. He felt Jellal squeeze his arm tightly and took a deep breath in an effort to control his tears before they could surface.
“I uh- was a few years older,” he added by way of explanation, hoping Romeo didn’t notice the tremor in his voice. “But probably even more terrified.”
“I don’t think that ever changes,” Jellal commented, “I remember my dad being a nervous wreck while my mom was pregnant with Wendy, and it certainly wasn’t their first go around.”
Natsu was surprised to hear Jellal talk about his parents. It was a topic that he rarely brought up, even though it had been years since they’d died, leaving him to care for his baby sister.
“So it’s okay to be scared?”
Both Natsu and Jellal laughed at that, although it was Natsu who responded. “I’d probably be more worried if you weren’t.”
“I’ll be honest with you- “ Natsu gently placed a hand on Romeo’s arm, “You’re already more prepared than I was. I had zero idea what I was doing until Hana was born, and even then, it took me a few weeks to get the hang of it. That class you took for the club already taught you most of what you need to know, and I’ve seen you with the kids. You’re a natural.”
“But I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you, either,” he warned, “Your life is going to change. Babies aren’t cheap. There are diapers and wipes to buy, and food, not to mention clothes. You’re going to need to get a job to afford these things. Even though I know a lot of us will be more than happy to help out however we can.”
“And be prepared for a lot of sleepless nights,” Jellal added. “You’ll be up feeding, changing, soothing, and worrying.”
“That’s right,” Natsu conceded, “But in all honesty, the best advice I can give you is this. If you can possibly manage it, don’t drop out of school like I did. That’s my one regret. Because of that one choice I made at seventeen, I sabotaged not only my future but my kids' as well.”
Romeo nodded weakly, eyes tearing up. “I knew it was going to be a lot, but-.”
Before he could get anything more out, he began to shake, and this time Natsu was pretty sure it had nothing to do with the state of his clothes, and he tried to backtrack, realizing much too late that they had overwhelmed the poor kid.”
“Listen, you might still be young-” “Very,” Jellal emphasized, earning him another elbow from Natsu. “You might still be young,” Natsu tried again, “but I think it’s incredibly brave of you to step up and take this responsibility. I know it sounds like a lot right now, but you have months to prepare before the baby is born. You can do this!”
“Natsu’s right, and you shouldn’t worry too much about making mistakes either. We all do,” Jellal assured Romeo. “Oh, and never shy away from asking for help when you need it, even if it means letting someone else take care of the baby until you can do it yourself like I did.”
“You’re still doing it,” Natsu reminded him with a shove, “Gramps is the one who takes care of Wendy, not your overgrown ass.”
“She’s happy there!” Jellal protested, “And I give him money every week to help.”
“Which he doesn’t accept,” Natsu reminded him, rolling his eyes at how stubborn both men were. “You might as well-”
“No!” Romeo interrupted their banter, “I can do it.”
His tone was forceful, but there was something about it that felt off to Natsu. It made him think that Romeo hadn’t told them everything, and he got the distinct impression that Romeo wouldn’t want to discuss whatever it was. Not yet, anyway.
“Of course you can!” Natsu was quick to reassure him. He grabbed the notepad he used to jot down long drink orders out of the pocket of his half apron and wrote his phone number on it in neat numbers. Ripping the page, he handed it over to Romeo.
“You can always come to me for help.” Natsu gave him what he hoped was an encouraging smile, “Teen dads have to stick together, right?”
Romeo took the piece of paper and stared at the numbers for a full minute. He then looked at Natsu with eyes full of gratitude and admiration.
“I knew you were the right person to talk to!”
“That’s our Natsu,” Jellal teased, grabbing Natsu in a headlock and ruffling his hair, “an inspiration to one and all.”
He knew Jellal’s words were meant in jest, but after months of wallowing in self-pity and being on the receiving end of everyone else’s best intentions, he had to admit it felt good to help someone out. To know that he could pay all his friends’ efforts forward.
It also made him realize something else. He and the kids weren’t the only ones who had lost Lisanna. Mira, Elfman, and even Erza had too. Maybe it was time he stopped shutting them out so they could grieve together and become a family again.

Gajevy Week 2020 - Relax
Gajevy Week 2020 - relax!
Saturday was Gajeel’s favorite day of the week.
Gajeel, Levy, and Lily had a tradition: Every Saturday, given that no one was on a mission, the Redfoxes would spend the day in the comfort of their home, in their PJs, and binge-watch all the TV or movies they missed during the week. Most Saturdays also ended up as pizza nights, much to Gajeel’s glee. Nothing, in the Dragon Slayer’s mind, was better than cuddling on the couch with Levy and Lily, watching trash TV, while eating a large meat lover's pizza.
They had started this tradition during their council days, as a way to save money surprisingly enough. Right after the Guild’s disbandment, Gajeel and Levy both found themselves broke, and even after getting jobs in the council, they didn’t have that much money to spend. In order to save on expenses, The trio rented together a small one-bedroom/one-bath apartment within walking distances of the council headquarters. During the first few months when money was tight, the 3 Fairies had created Lazy Saturdays as a way to have cheap, relaxing fun on a budget.
Even with the Guild back together and Gajeel and Levy being married (which happened very soon after the war) the Saturday tradition still lived on. Saturdays were sacred for Gajeel, and no one messed with sacred -- even annoying Guildmates.
On one particular Saturday, however, the rest of Fairy tail would test that sacredness.
The day had started like any Saturday: Gajeel and Levy had spent most of the morning in bed, cuddling and kissing until stomachs forced them up to eat breakfast. It was about 11 AM when Gajeel had just made it into the kitchen before the knocking started.
Gajeel turned towards the door in confusion; Levy was still upstairs and Lily was dozing on the couch, so who could it be? Turning to open the door, Gajeel came face to face with Jet and Droy.
“What are you guys doing here?” Gajeel asked (nicely, cuz they’re friends -- even if they came over on a Saturday).
“We were gonna see if Levy wanted to go on a mission!” the boys cheered loudly, breaking the soft quiet of the morning.
Gajeel blinked, a mission? On Saturday?
Blasphemy.
“No can do guys,” Gajeel said, crossing his arms, “it’s Saturday. No missions are allowed on Saturdays. Levy’s still sleeping anyways so I’ll let her know that you stopped by. See you guys on Monday.” And with that Gajeel closed the door (gently cuz they’re friends, he reminded himself).
Jet and Droy looked at the door in confusion. “What did he mean by no missions on Saturdays?” Droy asked Jet as the pair turned to walk away awkwardly.
Jet shook his head, “who knows man, who knows.”
Gajeel had thought that Jet and Droy would be the last intruders on the Saturday tradition, but he had been wrong. So wrong.
Not even an hour later, after the Redfoxes had finished their late breakfast, another knock was heard at the door.
“Gajeel could you see who that is?” Levy called from the couch as she set up the movie. Grumbling, Gajeel made his way to the door, opening to reveal one of the last people he wanted to see on his Saturday.
“Hey, Metalhead!” Natsu said grinning as Happy fluttered around him saying hi, “let’s train!”
“Can’t,” Gajeel said bluntly, already closing the door, “It’s Saturday and there’s no training on Saturdays. Now get lost!” Gajeel closed the door and walked away, still hearing Natsu complain from the outside.
“Was that Natsu?” Lily asked from the couch, already cuddled up in Levy’s lap.
“Unfortunately,” Gajeel replied as he too sat on the couch, “told him to get lost though. Had much more important things to do.”
Levy giggled before leaning into him. This, Gajeel thought, was the meaning of Saturdays: his family together, relaxing. Nothing could get in the way of his family time.
**Knock!**
Well, a man could hope right?
“I can get it,” Levy offered, already moving to get up when Gajeel beat her to it.
“Nah Shrimp, I got it” he said grumbling, “won’t take long.”
This time around, it was Natsu and Lucy.
“Hi Gajeel,” Lucy said smiling, “Natsu said something about me hanging out with Levy while you 2 train?”
“Yeah Metalhead! This way Levy won’t get bored while we train!” Natsu butted in.
“I already told you no!” Gajeel growled in annoyance, “no training or socializing on Saturdays! Now get lost!” This time Gajeel slammed the door and huffed his way back to the couch.
“Natsu again?” Levy as softly as she pressed into Gajeel as he sat down. Gajeel wrapped his arm around her in comfort.
“Yeah, and Blondie. I told them both to leave. It’s Saturday and Saturday is for relaxing at home, why doesn’t he get that?” Gajeel complained.
“Hm,” Levy hummed as she cuddled against him, “most of our Guildmates don’t understand the idea of downtime. Hopefully, this time we can just enjoy our movie.”
It was after 1 in the afternoon and the movie had just ended. Levy had gotten up to make lunch as Lily was finding the next movie when another knock was heard at the door.
“What don’t these people get about ‘no!’” Gajeel moaned as he went to the door, opening to reveal Juvia and Gray this time.
“Hi, Gajeel-kun!” Juvia cheered brightly as she clung to Gray, “Would Gajeel-kun and Levy-chan like to join Juvia and Gray-sama for lunch downtown?”
Gajeel took a deep breath (cuz this was his friend. Friend. FRIEND.) “Nah, Lev’s just about done with lunch for us anyways but thanks for asking.” Gajeel replied, “you 2 go enjoy your date.”
At the sound of ‘date’ Juvia squealed and clung tighter as Gray turned red.
“I-its not a date!” he cried but Gajeel had already closed the door since he really didn’t care.
Between lunch and the end of the 2nd movie, 3 more people knocked on the door:
1st were Wendy and Charlie asking for a book.
2nd was Cana stopping to say hi.
And 3rd was a door to door salesman which Gajeel scared off with a roar.
“My peaceful Saturday,” Gajeel lamented on the couch, “gone.”
“Oh, don’t give up yet Dear,” Levy joked as she sat in his lap, playing with his hands in her lap. Lily had gone outside to take a nap in the sun, “It’s only 4 pm, we still have pizza night and that movie we rented yesterday.”
“You’re right,” Gajeel sighed into her hair, already feeling more relaxed, “what would I do without Lev?”
Just then, as if in answer, there was another knock at the door.
“...I’m going to kill someone,” Gajeel growled darkly, tossing Levy lightly onto the couch to get up and march to the door.
“Someone better be willing to -” Gajeel began only to screw his lips shut, because on the other side of the door was Erza.
“Be willing to what Gajeel?” Erza asked, her brow raised in question.
“...nothing, what do you want Erza?” Gajeel replied (a little too scared to put too much attitude into it).
“I heard from the others that you’ve been turning people away,” Erza explained, as she broadened her stance, “is there a particular reason for the unusual antisocial behavior?”
Gajeel bristled, “I just want my peace and quiet!” he growled, “A day without you nut heads, is that so much to ask?”
Erza glared, “and what about Levy? I heard you’re not letting other people see her. If you think you can control her just because you’re married then-”
“Hi Erza!” Levy called out from under Gajeel’s arm, slipping past him to stand in between, “what brings you over?”
Erza shifted to Levy, taking note of her PJs, “are you not feeling well Levy?” Erza asked in concern, “you’re already in your PJs.”
“Never left them,” Levy admitted, “I feel fine but did you need anything?”
“I came because I heard Gajeel had been turning people away today,” Erza explained, “I wanted to check to make sure everything is alright.”
“Oh, everything’s fine!” Levy replied happily, “it’s just today’s Saturday and Gajeel and I prefer to keep Saturdays as Family days, you know? Just spending some quality time together.”
Erza blushed in embarrassment, “o-oh,” she muttered shyly, “that’s...oddly romantic of the 2 of you.” she then cleared her throat, “W-well, don’t mind me then, I’ll be off! I’ll let everyone else know not to bother you today either.”
“Thank you Erza!” Levy called after her as Erza walked down the lane before turning to Gajeel, “now, my Dear Husband, what would you like on your pizza?”
“I love you so much, you know that?” Gajeel admitted as he closed the door behind them.
Levy giggled, “I know, and I love you too. More than anything.”
Come Monday, when Gajeel and Levy walked into the Guild, the girls pulled Levy away for ‘girl time’ while Gajeel made his way to the bar. At the bar, the other guys teased him on his ‘softness’ for wanting to spend ‘quality time’ with his wife, but Gajeel didn’t mind. He knew that by the end of the day, all those guys were going to wish they were as ‘soft’ as him if the proud smile on Levy’s face, who sat in the middle of a group of fawning girls, was anything to go by.

5 times people got an insight into Freed and Laxus’ marriage and one time the whole guild did.
For @bluejaii, who sent me the sweetest ask and for @aceofheartsworld who always leaves the most heartwarming comments !
1. Gildarts
On the unique times that Gildarts is present in the guildhall, there are a few things he likes to do. The first being showering his amazing daughter with love and support, of course. Making good use of the guild's alcohol supply is second and his third favourite thing, involves bothering the shit out of the youngsters. Wendy and Romeo are easy to fool, eager to believe anything as long as it's said by an adult (Wendy more so than Romeo). Others are unbotherable (he doesn't know how to tease Erza without gravely insulting her, she ticks in a weird way.) Elfman is very easy to tease (How's your girlfriend doing?) and flustering Juvia is the simplest thing in the world. Now, one of Gildarts' favourite victims must be Laxus Dreyar himself.
The youngster has always been a bit (a lot) defensive when it comes to personal relationships and it's only gotten worse with the years. So of course, Gildarts has been asking the young man the same question every time he sees him : "You married yet?" It never fails to ruffle his feathers and Gildarts' always hides his laugh when the other man starts to look at anything but him before stomping off to God knows where.
Because Laxus probably relates Gildarts to feelings ranging from lowkey annoyance to highkey annoyance, the youngster tends to avoid him. So it comes as a complete surprise when Laxus enters the guildhall, lays eyes on Gildarts and smirks. His surprise gets even bigger when the young man takes a seat right in front of him and says : "Let's talk old man."
Although he's a little put off by Laxus seeking him out, he's not about to let that deter him from bothering the man. Leaning back, he plans to ask his usual question, absolutely sure of its effect until he studies Laxus carefully. He has his hand propped up under his chin and his smile gets smugger when Gildarts' eyes land on his ringfinger. His ringfinger adorned with an actual ring. A wedding ring. On Laxus' finger. After a minor mindimplosion, Gildarts opens his mouth to scream. Laxus stops him by slamming a menu card into his mouth.
"Listen, I'm here for one reason and reason only", Laxus states and glares at him with eyes that are very, very alike to Makarov's when he's displeased. Fucking genetics. "Okay, shoot."
"You had one wife that you liked, right? Cana's ma." He nods. "She was the love of my life. Why do you ask?” For a long time, Laxus stares at him and Gildarts wonders if the other is evaluating how genuine he is. Then, he crosses his arms and lowers his head unto them. "My partner is amazing", he blurts out and after that, he starts a three hour rant about why he loves his spouse.

2. Cana
"Laxus, drink with me!" she yells before plopping down annoyingly close next to him on the bench, invading his personal space just a little bit. She knows it doesn't bother Laxus at all, but it does bother his greenie and Cana has decided that she has the full right to pester him in every petty way possible. Scanning the area, she comes to the conclusion that Freed isn't around. Bummer.
"It's the good stuff", she winks and he gives her an amused huff before shaking his head. "No thanks, I'm good." Sticking out her tongue, she slaps his bicep. "Boo, where did your sense of adventure go? Your tongue for excellent beerrrr", she says while obnoxiously rolling her r's. "I think my husband wouldn't appreciate it too much, should I arrive at home drunk. I don't want to arrive home drunk either, because it makes my memory spotty and you best believe that I do not want to forget a single moment with my spouse."
Oh god. Laxus Dreyar isn't even drunk and he's already sappy. Looking at the clock, Laxus hums before ruffling her hair and standing up. "Dinnertime's rolling around and I'm not a lowly fucker, so I'm going to help my husband. You have fun, Cana." Watching his retreating back, Cana mutters : "Need me a freak like that."
-
3. Gajeel
On some subconscious level, Laxus still makes him feel a bit jittery. They've both been absolutely shitty, turned around and became less shitty. They have even regularly fought the same fights and Gajeel has teased the man quite a bit (as long as there were other people around). Doesn't mean that his body has forgotten what getting electrocuted felt like. So, one can understand that Gajeel felt an itty bitty nervous when Laxus stormed into the guildhall and then in his direction.
"Gajeel." His hope that the man was seeking out someone else leaps out of the window. "What", he snaps back and the other man's jaw tightens. "Your bookworm." Immediately, the protectiveness flares up, nervousness forgotten. "What about her?"
"She likes books."
What. How the fuck does this man's brain work? Looking at Laxus, who's running his hand through his hair and huffing in frustration, he decides to shut up until the guy finds his words. He doesn't seem to be that good at it. "You guys went to that book convention two towns over a few days ago. Did she think it was worth it?"
Laxus being the reading type? That's one that Gajeel did not see coming. Then it hits him like a freighttrain and he cackles. "Need a place to take your boyfriend to? Don't worry, I won't tell a soul."
"My what? I don't have a boyfriend." Oops. Turns out he was too fast. "My bad, but seriously ask Freed out, he'll say yes. Not to overstep any boundaries or something, but you deserve happiness and shit. People tell me that a lot, so I thought I'd relay the message." The corner of Laxus' mouth turns up and Gajeel mentally pats himself on the back. God, he's good at this. He should start making motivational songs.
"Thanks, my husband tends to tell me that too." Then he leaves. The jackass.

4. Lucy and Natsu
It's a mystery. An enigma. A plotline more intriguing than anything she'd cooked up lately. What is this baffling conundrum Lucy has been trying to unravel? Laxus Dreyar's dating life.
Okay, maybe it isn't that big of a deal, but the man is surrounded by the prettiest people in the world (Mirajane, Cana, to name a few) and doesn't seem to be too interested in them (she can't relate). If she were less... cautious, she would've asked him about it by now, but alas, she's still a bit of a chicken sometimes. Sue her.
"Lucy, what are we doing?" Natsu flatly asks her. "Spying on Laxus", she whispers back and Natsu hums. "Understandable. Why?"
"Do you think anyone is interested in him?" she asks and wonders if the intricacies of romantic attraction even register in Natsu's head. His answer absolutely floors her. "Lucy, there's only two types of people who haven’t had a crush on Laxus once in their live and those are the ones that aren't into men. Or are too cowardly to admit it. Luckily for me, I'm neither of those."
"You had a crush on Laxus?" He rolls his eyes. "Keep up with the plan Luigi, of course, just like ninety percent of the guild. You've ever thought he's hot?" She admits: "Yeah, like once or twice."
"See Lucy, now you're getting what bi/pan solidarity is."
"Bonding over how hot Laxus is?"
"You might as well start calling it bi/pan/gay solidarity then", a new, terribly amused voice says above them and Lucy lets out an "Eep!" and hits her head against the table. Crawling from underneath it, she and Natsu come face to face with Freed Justine, who's looking both too entertained and smug.
Refusing to let go of her pastime, Lucy puts her hands on her hips and faces the captain. "What's Laxus' dating life like?" she demands to know and Freed shrugs. "I wouldn't know, he doesn't have one."
"Oh", she pouts and he chuckles. "If that's all, I'm gonna join the subject of your espionage." Right before he leaves, he looks over his shoulder and adds : "Since his dating life is nonexistent, you should ask him about his marriage."
-
5. Wendy
The flyer picturing the fair looks positively radiant and Wendy can nearly smell the candy apples and other sugared goods. It's a shame she won't be able to go though, because her team will be going on a mission and it's too far and dangerous for her to travel alone. A shadow alerts her of someone standing behind her and when she whirls around, she comes face to face (well more like face to chest) with Freed.
He too is staring at the poster and shyly she says. "It looks fun, doesn't it? If I were able to go, I'd take someone dear with me." Her voice must've sound a tad bit too longing, because he glances in her direction and asks : "Are you not able to go?" She shakes her head. "No, my team will be away and it's too far to go without adult supervision."
"I could go with you, if you do not mind my company, that is. Ah, I'll be taking someone dear to me along too, so you could invite Chelia if you wanted too." More often than not, she curses her face for revealing exactly what she's thinking, but right now, Wendy is over the moon. "Thank you mister Freed!" she yells before giving him a hug and speeding off. She's gonna have a blast with Chelia!
"Seems like our babysitters are tired", Chelia grins before shrugging. "Eh, at least we got candy out of it." As the two of them share their candy, Wendy looks at the scene in front of them. With an amount of skill that she certainly hadn't expected, Laxus is pinning Freed's hair up with a hairpin that he'd won a little while earlier. The light reflects off the pin and the rings adorning both men's fingers.
"Hey Wendy", Chelia says, laying her head on Wendy's shoulder. "When we're old like those two, let's be like that." Putting her hand on top of Chelia's and weaving their fingers together, Wendy nods sleepily. "Let's do that."
-
+1 Makarov or actually, + the whole guild
"Hey Gramps, you mind if we throw a guild party?" Well, aren't those words he thought he'd never hear out of his grandson's mouth. "You do whatever you want brat, as long as you can pay for it. What's the occassion?"
"Oh I got married."
"You what?"
(They get to hold the party and yes, Makarov cries over his grandsons. Both of them.)

Natza Week, Day 3: Reality
She was dying… She was pretty certain that she was.
            “ERZA…!”
She cracked a smile. A small one. It hurt to move. Everything hurt. Even smiling was excruciating. And yet…
            “ERZA!!!”
Her mind wandered. Even with the warring clashes of steel and rallying battle cries going on near her… She couldn’t help noticing how empty the world looked now. How cold. Though, that could have just as easily been due to the blood loss, the heat leaving her body…
            “ERZA…!!!”
… Either way… The ash-filled air, the dark clouds and murky sky… The dirt beneath her fingertips… She noticed it all. And it made her think. It really did. Would all of this have been avoided, had they chosen not to fight? Two people that were very dear to her… had died because they decided to fight. To shield her from harm.
            “ERZAAA!!!!!”
She sighed raggedly. Even breathing was a herculean task by this point… No. Fighting for your ideals, your values… for the weak, those who could not defend themselves… That was never a useless endeavor. Fighting resulted in destruction, misery, and pain, but it was also a tool to protect that which is precious to you. It ensured there could be many happy and joyous times later… Fighting was the very essence of life.
She would never regret the day that she first picked up her sword. It was the day she had decided to start living.
The sound of crunching gravel entered her ears as the one who had been screaming her name slid on his knees next to her. It was clear by his panicked voice and the way he hovered over her anxiously, worrying over her extensive and mortal wounds, it was really him…
Her smile widened the smallest amount.
He had been the first to fight for her, to never betray her...
He showed what it really meant to live.
            “Erza!”
Erza blinked owlishly as she stirred in bed. Sluggishly, she sat up.
            “Erza, are you alright?”
Warmth wrapped around her hand and she looked up into concerned eyes. After he repeated the question a few more times, and she registered he was holding her hand comfortingly, the scarlet knight shook her head and mustered a heartfelt smile.
“I’m fine! It was just a dream.” Just a dream.
“Phew… Ya had me kinda worried there!” She couldn’t help melting at that cheesy, closed-eyes, toothy grin he gave her. “It looked like a pretty bad dream. You sure you’re okay?”
Erza internally sighed at that. Sometimes Natsu was too perceptive for his own good…
“I’m fine.” She repeated for both him and for herself. “I promise.”
At her obstinance, Natsu moodily pouted before swinging his legs over the edge of the bed and releasing her hand.
“Fine.” He got up and stretched, allowing the scarlet knight to glimpse his bare back. Maybe it wasn’t as impressive of a sight as his front, but… She’d be lying if she said the Dragon Slayer wasn’t well-toned all-around. “Better hurry and get ready, or Mukuro’s gonna beat us to the Guild again…”
            ‘Mukuro’… She mouthed the syllables.
Their daughter, her sleepy mind supplied for her. Of course they needed to get up pretty early to keep up with Mukuro-chan… The girl had her dad’s energy, but her mom’s wisdom and determination. She was a handful, for sure.
As Erza got up and went about her morning preparations, she stopped in front of a mirror and unbuttoned her pajama shirt, noting the scars that littered her body. None of them severe or life-threatening like in the dream. Nothing she had to concern herself with.
“What did I expect to find?” The scarlet knight huffed, disrobing and going to pick out a blouse to wear for the day.
            ~*~
Later that day, while they were all relaxing in the park – Mukuro playing with Asuka – her mind wandered.
            “Natsu…?”
The Dragon Slayer’s grin dropped slightly as he turned his attention from the playful children to his wife.
            “Yeah?”
“If I died tomorrow… Would you be able to cope?” It had honestly plagued her all day. The dream was a lot like one she had had long ago, back when Natsu had first truly fought for ‘her’, and won. And it bothered her.
Because Natsu was never supposed to break. Even when he’d ‘lost’ Lisanna all those years ago, he’d trudged on. But in both her dreams…
Natsu’s face slightly turned away and dipped as he looked down at his lap.
            “… No. Probably not.”
Erza frowned softly as he confirmed her suspicions.
            “Natsu…”
“You wouldn’t spontaneously ‘die’, Erza…” He grunted. “You’d fight. And I’d destroy every last bastard connected to your murderers. I wouldn’t rest.”
Her hand hovered over his, thumb tracing soothing circles around his knuckles.
“Would you live on happily, if I begged you to?”
He snorted and cracked a bitter grin.
“You know me better than that. How’d I reel myself in, without you there?”
Her frown deepened, but he wasn’t done.
“’Sides… I don’t let dreams slip away like that. Especially not the most important one.”
            Erza’s brow furrowed.
            “Dreams?”
Natsu let out a small hollowed laugh as he looked up at the sky fondly.
“Yep. Even if they don’t turn out how I want, I still make dreams a reality. I found Igneel. Became strong. Attained S-Class. Started my own family.”
“… And the ‘most important one’?” She watched him curiously, wondering where he was going with this.
He flashed her another of those grins that made her heart flutter.
“Well… What I wanna be… is your hero.” He didn’t need to elaborate any more than that. Right away, she understood him perfectly. Immediately understood the sentiments behind those words. They weren’t desperate, overprotective feelings. He wasn’t talking about simply rescuing her from physical threats… She knew better than that by now.
Affectionately, she drew him in for a hug.
She wasn’t worried about her dream – her nightmare – anymore. This was the reality they had struggled and bled for, and she wasn’t letting anyone or anything tear this away from her.
