nervously peeks in? hihello could I ask about any more headcanons you might have for EarthSpark Bee? Since I also love where they're going with him? I'm personally torn about whether he'd be super boastful about having a SO or if he'd keep it more on the downlow. I feel like the Terrans would love it so much though but might tease him-

EARTHSPARK BUMBLEBEE HCs

If he was in a relationship with you before he was stationed with the Terrans I think he'd keep your relationship on the down low for a while. Not because he's a shamed of you or anything, far from it! But, well... Those kids can be a little intense. He loves them, but he really doesn't want to overwhelm you. And full honesty, he's not ready for the teasing and badgering he knows he'll receive after finally spilling the beans. He wants to keep you to himself just a little bit longer.

On the other hand, if he's already been with the Terrans for a while before you start a relationship, I think it's painfully obvious to the Malto family that he has feelings for you. He's not stumbling over his words or falling all over himself whenever you're around, but he'll always volunteer himself first whenever you need, well, anything! A ride, a helping hand, a listening audial, or maybe you just want to learn more about Transformers, he'd do anything for you. Alex and Dot obviously catch on first, but they choose not meddle and let Bumblebee figure things out at his own pace. The kids however? Are not so kind.

Hashtag is the first to put it together, and it causes an immediate schism when she brings it up to the others. Her, Twitch, Jawbreaker, and Mo all think Bee is head over heels for you, but Robby, Thrash, and Nightshade are convinced he's just being polite and helpful. Cue the spying, curious looks, and far-from-subtle prying from all of them when it comes to Bee and his supposed affection, slowly bringing the three 'non-believers' into the fold after seeing all the ways Bumblebee is completely head over heels for you.

Bee himself is very embarrassed about it, mainly because he had no idea he was being so obvious. He also can't really see you reciprocating the feelings. After all, you're surrounded by humans like yourself every day while he's a twenty foot tall space robot. So he keeps waffling on the idea of confessing, always deciding that "it's just not the right time."

I actually think it's Mo of all people who convinces him to finally shoot his shot. After all the prodding and scheming and badgering by all the kids, she's the one to just say to him that he'll probably regret it if he doesn't at least try. It's so blunt and so honest and so EXACTLY what he needed to hear that he asks to take you for a drive the next time he sees you.

(This would be a fun fic idea, actually. I should bounce this around in my head a little more.)

I like to think that a few weeks after Mea and ES!Bee reunite, Mea is already back to teasing him. First it was just little "accidental" touches or eye contacts now it's full on kissing him and catching him off guard whenever she can.

I'm thinking of drawing more Earthspark! Meabee, maybe some TFA soon (if I can settle on a specific design for TFA! Mea hhh)

still thinking about Earthspark Bumblebee being stuck with the kids entirely by himself for any slightly extended period of time and it’s so funny 

because I keep thinking about all the stuff kids have said to me when I’ve been babysitting or back when I worked in education and it’s so good 

there is no way Bumblebee would be fully prepared, at this stage, for Child Questions and Statements 

some real things children have said to me: 

-”I’M ANGRY” “thank you for telling me! why are you feeling angry?” “BECAUSE!!! RAIN ISN’T MADE OF ICE [takes big breath] CREEEEEEAM”

-”when the sun goes down it’s good because the sun needs to sleep too, but then the moon comes out at night so when does the moon sleep? WHEN DOES IT SLEEP?” 

(this was eventually resolved by me reading them “Goodnight Moon” as proof that the moon does in fact sleep, because why would we tell it goodnight if it didn’t also have a bedtime)

-”since dinosaurs were real, are we real?” 

-”if dead people live in cemeteries, how do they get their food underground? can we call Pizza Hut? I want pizza like dead people!!! I WANT DEAD PEOPLE PIZZA” (this eventually became “peepza” the longer this demand continued) 

-”planes go up. if I jump hard enough with super jump power, could I go to France? can we get a trampoline? I wanna go to France. WAIT!!! WOULD I NEED A PASS-PORP??? I DON’T HAVE A PASS-PORP!! NOOO” 

-”I AM APPLE MAN” [child proceeds to walk into the room swinging an apple around in a tote bag over his head, like some kind of medieval flail] 

-”I DON’T WANNA PLAY!” “oh no, why not?” “A BIRD POOPED ON MY FAVOURITE TREE” 

-”TODAY I LEARNED WE HAVE WATER INSIDE US!!! NOT JUST PEE!!!! pee pee pee pee pee pee pee pee” 

-”how does the floor work?” 

(legitimately a good question but it will be a while before they can apply for architectural engineering school, we ended up watching a documentary on how Tudor houses were constructed to try to solve this one lmao) 

-”I looked at my pen, I looked too hard, and it stopped working. I have mind powers like Mr Professor from X-MEN!!” [child proceeded to spend the entire day trying to “be strong brained” by staring at things] 

now, of course, the kid/Terrans are a bit more developed than this, a lot of these were from younger children, which is probably obvious 

but I can foresee there being a lot of questions about Earth etc. that Bumblebee might genuinely not know the answer to, or he might get faced with child non-sequiturs that throw him off

and because the Terrans may not actually understand yet how certain natural events (like rain) occur, I can imagine there would be some interesting questions, some of which might be more immediately answerable and some which would probably take more work 

I feel like Nightshade would ask more scientifically inquisitive questions which Bee might not be able to answer, stuff like that

but either way, there would be so many questions 

and some of them are bound to be wild 

lmao

ugh. having thoughts about es bee again

i would actually cheer if earthspark writers decide to kill him. even if they won't revive him, like hasbro does at any chance it gets with oppy. i love him so much. i want to hurt him constantly

it's not a pretty outcome, obviously, but for his character to evolve further something horrid must happen. and he needs to develop, just like any character, you can't put him on the sidelines this far into the show

he has an unstable role in the show anyway, or at least it's not prominent enough. sure, he's a teacher, but that's neither a dad nor a sibling. it's too distant. while i like to imagine him being an older brother to the Terrans, it's not confirmed. more than that, the kids are standing up on their own near the end of the season

we've reached status quo. it's time to break it

I’ve been thinking about this since I watch Season 1b of Earthspark but something I really hope gets talked about is how much pressure is being put on the Terran kids

ESPECIALLY Twitch and Thrash being the oldest

Cause the contrast between Twitch in the first and second half of the season was so sad to watch and Twitch slowly started putting more and more pressure on herself to protect her younger siblings and how she got so upset when she got stuck in the bunker while Bee was racing even though Bee is a perfectly capable adult and shes basically a toddler

And then Thrash talking about how it shouldn’t be their jobs to make up for what Megatron and Optimus did in the past and how he hates that he feels like they’re making it his and his sibling problems

Its just so sad to see the older kids beat themselves up over things that aren’t their faults and I hope one of the fucking adults sits them down at some point and is like

Explains to them that anything that happens isn’t their fault or responsibility

HI same anon from last night I’ve been going absolutely bonkers over you rambling about Bee since you posted it. I love that guy… 😭. If you want more specific (and this is only if you wanna!) do you wanna expand on maybe g1, animated or earthspark? how they’d be in a relationship, maybe? it’s totally up to you. i’m just excited to be fed good content about my favorite guy 🙏

Yes yes yes of course! I covered what Earthspark Bee would be like if he had a crush in the last ask, so I'll gladly go over what these Bees would be like in a relationship!

G1 Bumblebee

Of these three, I think G1 Bee is the shyest, even when the two of you are already in a relationship. The puppy love doesn't wear off when you start dating with him. If he had it his way he'd trail behind you wherever you went, dopey and lovesick and unbelievably fond.

He's incredibly gentle with you, never picking you up without asking first, always checking in on you to make sure you're comfortable when he takes you for a drive. He's also a much more careful driver than the other two versions of Bee when you're riding with him. As much as he loves to feel the wind between his plates and tear up the road, he's a lot more hesitant to do so when you're his ride-along.

He loves the human cliche of getting your partner flowers, and he especially loves the way your whole face lights up when he presents them to you, even if he just spent an hour delicately picking them out of the nearby woods. He'd be a complete, flustered mess if you ever returned the favor or, better yet, went out of your way to court him in a way more familiar to Cybertronians. Bring him a cool rock or pretty gemstone you found at a hobby shop and he'll fall to pieces right there in front of you.

Whether you're a alone or in public, he absolutely melts under any affection from you. Even a kiss on the cheek can turn his processor to a staticky mess. He's so whipped for you and he absolutely loves it.

Animated Bumblebee

Even in a relationship, he still loves to tease and play with you. Teasing is your shared love language, he shows his affection best when you're calling him a giant dork and he's responding 'Yeah, but you love this giant dork!' The only times he gets really soft and embarrassed are when you genuinely compliment him or tell him how much you love him without some silly goof to cushion the blow. You can practically see his whole faceplate glowing with the force of his blush.

Anything fun is doubly fun when he's doing it with you. Listening to music, ripping around downtown Detroit, or even just vegging out on the couch playing video games. Having you there makes everything ten times better. Even things that you enjoy that he isn't as fond of are better with you. He'll gladly watch a documentary or go stargazing if it makes you happy. Besides, you can still bounce jokes off of each other, so he'll enjoy it no matter what.

He's such a showoff about you it's adorable. He brags about you whenever the chance comes up, and NOBODY gets away with talking smack about you if he's around. Especially other bots that don't like organics, that's when he gets to his most protective.

He's not always the best at reading the room, so you need to be pretty up front with him if he ever says or does anything that genuinely upsets you. After all, teasing isn't very fun if it's something that you're genuinely self-conscious about. And he knows you'd never tease him for stuff like his height, so all you have to do is point out the lines that you don't want crossed, and he'll never let himself or anyone else cross them.

Earthspark Bumblebee

Like Animated Bee, Earthspark be loves loves loves to go racing with you. But he's also painfully aware of how much more fragile humans are than Cybertronians, so he saves it for routes he knows like the back of his hand, or racetracks where there's absolutely no chance of you getting hurt. It makes his spark sing whenever you cheer around a tight turn, warm hands gripping his steering wheel like you never want to let go.

He's not a bragger by any definition of the word, but the people around him that know him well can tell just how proud he is of you. He gets this incredibly fond, dreamy look on his face whenever he sees you teaching the Terrans something new, like it's taking everything in him not to scoop you up and smooch you right then and there.

He's okay with casual displays of affection, hugs and chaste kisses and carrying you around in his arms or on his shoulder. But he does get pretty embarrassed if he ever gets caught in a more affectionate position with you. He can handle the teasing from the Maltobots just fine, but Primus forbid Optimus or Megatron start ribbing him for how cuddly he likes to be with you when no one else is around.

Speaking of cuddly, I think ES Bee is the MOST touchstarved out of these three. He's incredibly tactile and if he could he'd literally always be touching you, but he's been on his own for so long that he doesn't really know how to voice when he needs that kind of casual physical affection. He loves to cuddle but almost never brings it up. After all, a soft, gentle human like yourself can't possibly get as much out of cuddling a angular slab of metal as he gets out of cuddling you. Please cuddle the man, he needs it so bad.

I had this random thought while doing the dishes and it ended up leading to thinking about Mea and Bee boy. So, I was thinking about the word hypocrite (or people who are? I dunno) and that reminded me of the sleep segment(is that the right word?). And that ultimately led me to think of Bumblebee(mostly earth spark)calling her cupcake.

Now, I don't know your headcanons about if they have pet names or anything so I thought I'd share!

(and if him calling her cupcake doesn't fit, what kind of endearments do they have for each other?)

Mea absolutely loves petnames! So here are some of the petnames Mea and Bee have for each other <33

Mea's petnames for Bee:

-Sinta/Aking Sinta (meaning cherished one or true love in tagalog)

-Mahal/Mahal ko (love or my love)

-Palangga/Langga/ga: (Another filipino word used in many parts of the country but generally means my love)

-BB: (Just Bee's name shortened into acronyms lmao)

-Handsome: (She knows this gets him particularly flustered)

Bee's petnames for Mea:

-Hon/Honey: (Mea loves this particular petname so that's what Bee would usually call her)

-Babe/Baby: (He doesn't call her these much often)

-Cupcake: (Mea doesn't know how to feel about this petname but Bee calls her that playfully just to tease her)

-Sweetheart: (Bee calls her this sometimes when Mea isn't in the mood or she's upset)

-Doll/Dollface: (Mea loves being called this)
