More from the VALLEY OF THE KINGS! There are over 64 TUNNELS or TOMBS in the Valley of the Kings but what isn’t well publicized is that only 27 are actually ROYAL TOMBS. The majority are actually dedicated to nobility, high priests and military generals. So it’s not really called the valley of kings due to being a valley exclusive to KINGS, but rather propaganda to make it sound more exciting. The early explorers (looters) wanted to attract investors. Today the aim of attraction is tourists. See how they’ve treated the area of the hidden opening located behind the #dreamstele between them paws of the Sphinx? It was covered up like this during WWII allegedly “for protection”. Also take notice of how the paws have significantly changed from the repair campaigns.
