and i think that might be one of the reasons dazai finds him interesting enough to care about. because chuuya actively challenges the way he sees life itself just by doing his own thing. he doesn't go out of his way to talk dazai into seeing value in life, and i think this is the sort of language dazai has an easier time speaking

Some people think that the PM was actively searching for Dazai during his 2 year disappearance, but...

...what if Mori actually told everyone to NOT look for Dazai.

Even if they did capture Dazai, what would they do? Kill him? Torture him? As if there was any way they could get Dazai to go with them (unwillingly anyway). Mori doesn't even want Dazai dead.

Let's say that they somehow manage to take Dazai back kicking and screaming during that 2-year period. Dazai literally holds some of the most dangerous/sensitive information about the PM due to his association to the boss himself, and one move from him could topple down the entire organization (or, at the very least, make it harder for the organization for the next decade or 2).

I hardly think his death could ever stop him from destroying the PM, and back then, the Tripartite wasn't fully realized as well, so there was no stopping Dazai from saying "fuck the tripartite".

Additionally, Taneda only required the 2-year dissappearance to clear his record specifically. Nothing was stated about him needing protection.

This also fits better with the mindset that Mori has. He seems willing to let Dazai just do what he wants for the most part. He's acting a bit like an indulging father (not in a good way. It feels like a ploy for something bigger...) PLUS! It sounds like the biggest waste of resources to look for someone he specifically pushed out of the organization in the first place.

Idk, just a thought. Seems smart to just let Dazai go his merry way rather than test his patience. I doubt Akutagawa (and maybe even Chuuya) could be stopped from looking for Dazai unless there was an order not to do so as well.

There is no force in the universe strong enough to completely tear them apart so the universe decided it was better to not waste the energy. It’s better for all of them to be together even if it means for them to crash into each other. Let their world views and powers clash. Let their influences unravel. Admittedly, something I’ve liked in the past couple of chapters is that even with an occasional barb or complaint thrown in, there’s been a surprising lack of hostility between Dazai and Chuuya.

Like, we’ve had crumbs of this — of them caring for each other and looking after each other — before but it’s been so consistent in the last few chapters and it feels so very in our faces as well, front and center.

Like, Chuuya keeps trying to almost console and reassure Dazai or at least help him figure out what’s wrong. Dazai’s never been as open or expressive, this chapter especially with him practically thinking out loud, that I can recall. Dazai’s showing behaviors that I don’t remember seeing before but fromChuuya’s words they’re habits of his.

They’re not constantly shooting insults or attacking each other (whether with words or physical moves). They’re basically just chilling as the danger is supposedly past (until Dazai got his revelation).

And I think it’s because they’re presumably completely alone for once.

They’re not in the Mafia base. They’re not in enemy territory with unconscious looks and their retrieval target close enough to possibly hear or see them if they wake up. They’re not stuck in a place surrounded by a dangerous ability or where the location of their allies is unknown, but could come across them at any time.

This might be the first time in the main manga where we can get a glimpse of what they’re like simply with each other.

And it’s really not so bad.
