color accuracy is lost bc of lighting but this was the start of the granny blanket project, I gotta take another progress picture when I knock out a significant amount

#i think this was day ttttwwooo... yes bc I was doing especially bad that day and made 12 of them back to back #ANYWAY!! so these are the starters #this is before I added the teal into the mix but these are most of the colors otherwise #pinks / yellows / a couple blues / offwhite / black / dusty purple / brown #i have teal and burgundy in the mix now because i'm letting the colors be whatever #obviously I really love the sunflowers which is why I'm wanting to put repeats of those in there #but in general i'm going to let the squares be different from one another and i won't be arranging #the squares in any specific order when it's time to sew them all together #also having ones that are just One Or Two Colors #i really like the way it breaks it up

#zeno's art #ocs #minty #soulstice circus #halloween #this piece was honestly SO MUCH FUN!!! there was a bit of turbulence but in the end i'm very proud of it #i've got values down well now so they weren't a big problem but halfway through i ended up changing a lot of the colors #because i wanted a more blue and pink look than purple and pink #but it worked out well #i also wanted to do a different angle which went nicely #in the end my favorite parts of the piece are his hair + stockings #as well as the cityscape (especially the streetlight which was added in spontaneously) and the pumpkitties!#this is also a redraw of a piece from around this time last year - i might post that in a seperate post as well #ok i'm writing all this on the 18th now - this should reach you on halloween night! #Rambles Into The Void #unrelated ramble: i think if you select the Alph alt your Purple Pikmin should be replaced by Rock Pikmin #they fill similar enough niches i think. ESPECIALLY with how the pikmin are handled in smash #like. purples already have the gimmick of doing more damage when thrown at the cost of not latching on there #that's literally what rock pikmin do!!!#plus it could be a fun nod to how you can't find/use white+purple pikmin in the story mode of pikmin 3 #which. yknow. is the Main Thing of the only game Alph is playable in.#white pikmin can stay bc there's not really anything that could replace them and make sense for Alph specifically to throw #winged pikmin are already in Olimar/Alph's moveset and the idea of those little pink thangs doing 'darkness' (poison.) damage is just. no.

Commentary:

This is less about your favorite color, and more what color most things you own end up being. That CAN match up with your favorite, but I've noticed a lot of people accumulate things in a color that's not their fav, for reasons.

Like, with me, I was sorting through clothes today (packing away winter and pulling out summer) and realized I own a lot of pink, and a lot of blue. My favorite color however, is purple. But I don't actually like the most popular bright shades I see in the stores, so I don't actually have many articles of clothing that are purple. I do own more purple objects, but blue still out numbers the purple.

It's interesting to think about.

#technically its a re-redesign but the previous design was from before the game was out and before she had a solidified personality #so it was basically an oc at that point #anyway i am a very big fan of how this turned out. especially the shading #art #my art #texas chainsaw massacre #sissy tcm #sissy slaughter #tcm sissy #to go off on character design stuff; i made her dress pink/purple to give her her own color #since the hitchhiker already has a similar forest green #and i gave her pants under her dress because. well shes the only one in the family not wearing pants #which would be fine to me if she wasnt the only girl #i gave her a cleaver because all of the og family have unique weapons and i thought she deserved one too #i gave her pigtails because her personality is quite sillyfun and i wanted her design to reflect that #(plus the original redesign had them and i just liked how they look)#the bruises are something i give practically all the family except the cook #because in the movie he abuses the other two on screen. which i think is fun (AS A FULLY FICTIONAL CONCEPT)#what else what else. i gave her a belt sash to add more detail to the dress #and to separate her chest and her waist #and i thiink thats it. anyway i love character design. if you couldnt tell yet #abuse mention

The auctioneer sealed the deal, and Alec looked to Jace who was standing in the wing of the stage, his mouth gaping open.

"You said it wouldn't be more than 500 dollars," Alec whispered, just loud enough that it would carry across the stage.

Jace lifted one shoulder and shrugged. "Well, clearly, you're in much higher demand than I thought."

For context I was planning on doing a turquoise next but I'm playing Melliwyk on Saturday and purple is her color

I like to buy used online but goddamn I need people to pick accurate color descriptors. that shirt isn't purple, it's cobalt blue! burdgundy isn't fire engine red!
