Song of the year?

Wow. Oof. Starting me off with a really, really tricky one, huh? I think song of the year -- just from how much it's moved me -- has to be Bluza, even though I still think they murdered her in the studio version and then with their own interpretation of the lyrics. Oof. Ouch. Since Lips is playing just now on my speakers, I was very tempted to go with that, but no. I still think it has to be Bluza, considering it made me cry like twice in the past five months (at Warsaw and at the Slovenija piha 0.0 concert, and if you're thinking, xia, both of those are were with the instrumental intro, I'll say yes I've been saying they murdered her in the studio version)

11. Something you want to do again next year?

Oh my god, a bunch of things. But mostly: dare to do things I didn't think I would, like travelling alone for a couple of weeks for gigs. Basically the whole gig travels and seeing friends all over Europe was a major boon this yeah and I'd like to do it again next year 😊 And maybe more specifically, something like the Balkan tour. Having time (and spoons) to explore the cities I visited was amazing.

22. Favorite place you visited this year?

Okay I did first type "even trickier" but tbh, I think it might have been Ljubljana. Such a pretty city, and I finally managed to go in December while the christmas lights are up and just. It's so so gorgeous. The castle is so pretty, too, and I would have liked a couple more days to just explore, I think. But I am very grateful for the time I did get, and the people I did this with 💛

i’m not entirely sure what the pattern of that shirt is but it’s one of my fave Jan shirts and! he also wore it in Tampere. i witnessed the shirt live!

1. I'm very happy lying next to a dear friend right now both doing our own thing and occasionally showing each other something on our phones or making other remarks 🥰🥰

2. My cats and any cats and dogs I see outside

3. Spending time with my friends

4. Reading a good book. Fanfic also, but reading an actual book has become rare for me, despite going to the library every week as a child, so it has a special place in my heart and I hope in the future, I'll get back to reading more again, not just on vacation

2. Did you reread anything? What?

honestly no! i’ve been thinking about doing an anne of green gables reread soon, or maybe gregor the overlander. but other than the constant loop of the hunger games that plays in my head at all times i didn’t sit down and reread anything this year

9. Did you get into any new genres?

i try to read a lot of different genres (and i do tend to get burned out on literary fiction about vaguely sad single women) this year i’ve read quite a bit of speculative fiction and climate fiction (i think that’s a new ish genre name and genre at all, which is interesting. to be honest, a lot of it is pretty bad, but it can be interesting to see how people think about and conceive our future and our relationship with technology. it’s perhaps a bit more grounded than sci fi but still scratches that itch of technological speculation)

14. What books do you want to finish before the year is over?

there’s a book i’ve been slowly chipping away at called “the entanglement: how art and philosophy make us what we are” that i’d like to finish before i have to fly back to my parents’ house next week and give it back to the library. it’s not a particularly easy read and it’s pretty heady at times — i wish i had a college class to discuss it in. but it’s interesting!

I'm going Jan's nails. I'd actually pay a lot of attention and tru to do my best. I'd paint him some cool patterns (I have some ideas already lmao)

And I can quarantine with Nace. We'd just get along very well and I could cuddle with him all day🥰🥰🥰 Plus he can cook so I wouldn't starve. Again, I think it would've been chaos, but controlled enough. (If I were with Bojan the entire household would've exploded lmao)

okay so now that I'm on my way home (in a flixbus, thank you deutsche bahn) I can finally write a little recap about my absolutely insane week

so first, munich - i still don't know how i managed to get there on time, the trains were a nightmare, but it worked out and it was my first time seeing joker out live - so worth it, I'm still blown away by how amazing they are live, I can't even put it into words, but here are my highlights:

- nace is so beautiful in person omg, couldn't take my eyes off him at first

- the looks between jan and nace??? it's not even a conspiracy theory anymore they are so in love, even my friend who went with me, who isn't on tumblr and doesn't have brainrot said they were undressing each other with their eyes

- jan. that's it. (I'm a liar that's not it, his hair, his outfit, his solos, HIM SAYING HOHOHO I FUCKING DIED)

- I'm still being delusional so it's now a fact that bojan smiled at me and winked while I was singing my heart out to ngvot

- jan jumping on nace after the second ssol 🥺🥺🥺

okay, moving on to amsterdam: much bigger venue and less familiar vibes than in munich, but still incredible:

- i completely freaked out when i saw that jan was just wearing the leather jacket, I literally couldn't take my eyes off him

- actually got to hug my best friend during ssol :')

- blew bubbles during novi val

- finally heard kris sing ngvot and speak dutch, it was so cool

- and i saw more of jure, i could barely see him in munich :(

- mia nicolai was SO good, I need to start listening to her songs

and most importantly, I got to meet @frogtossing in munich and @esskuesli in amsterdam, so much love to both of you and I'll see you in march <3

and thank you so much for the lovely 3 days in amsterdam @esskuesli, it's still surreal that all of this actually happened, but I'm so so glad that it did 💚

and now I'll try to let all of it sink in, but I'm still just full of joy
