Lost in the Forest
Deep in the Forest by Maria L. Berg 2023
If you missed this morning’s prompts post, I am responding to the prompts from Deep in the Forest.
Today was a the first frost of the season. I took a nice walk hunting for small leaves and fronds to use as filters on clear plastic to create forests in the mirrorworld.

The Sunday Whirl as an Etheree... #Poetry
Image by Jan Marczuk from Pixabay
I
weep near
ancient bones
Buried chambers
glow with amber light
Old seeds carpet the floor
I feel strange things hide in here
My thoughts spiral with those before
A strong feeling of deep holiness
Invisible hands caress my cool skin…

Etheree: The Quest
God
Is Infinite.
Yet, seeking gain
in this earthly plane,
We seek a famous face.
Fame, we chase, fortunes we pursue,
Without God’s grace, fame fades from earth.
In life’s brief space, celebrity holds no worth,
In this meaningless place, we search for renown, restless,
“Look at me!” The quest for the crown remains our emptiness.

Hello, my friends! Welcome.
Colleen Chesebro’s Weekly Poetry Challenge
Colleen says: This challenge explores Ekphrastic writing inspired by visual art (photographs). Annette Rochelle Aben from last month’s challenge has provided the photo for this month’s challenge. Remember, it’s not so much about describing what’s in the photo. Look beyond the obvious to find new meaning.

Spring,
Daisies,
Mellow sounds,
Peach colored cheeks.
How could you stand there?
While stealing my meek heart.
Making me weak on my knees.
Cursing Eros for stabbing me
with his goddamn arrow, for making
me fall for a person whom I cannot have.
(i miss my creative writing class)
