If I had a nickel for every time Lou Wilson's PC insisted his own honey was better, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Is he the strongest man in Silbry? Or something more? Here's Eursolon (Bear) he's hungry for honour... and maybe those little cucumber sandwiches. Played wonderfully by Lou Wilson!

i am a little sad that brennan confirmed that the reason kalaya's family looks like suvi is not bc she was connected to any of suvi's ancestors, but the time fuckery of it all, where kalaya simply wanted to look like her brother and got there too early, is incredibly beautiful. i love that.
also obsessed with brennan being like "all of the people on ao3 just sighed sadly and closed out their kalaya/soft fanfics" and aabria and erika immediately laughing derisively at the idea that canon means ANYTHING to us freaks. the "you sweet summer child" vibes are strong there!
(and hey @quiddie if you and erika make your "introducing our friends to the truth of the internet" podcast i will 100% listen to it. that sounds so fun to me. please consider either doing that or co-opting future fireside chats for that purpose. i am so grateful that you two know things about tumblr.)

"If Eursalon had waited a day, Steel would have arrived, arrested Morrow, and freed Naram. It would have potentially avoided this conflict."
Nah. Nah on multiple fronts.
This perspective relies on (a) Steel speaking and acting in good faith, (b) Steel being able to follow through on the promised actions, and (c) both Naram and Orima being mollified by that plan. Orima brokered a deal with Ame and Eursalon, not with Steel or the Empire. It looks pretty clear that she would have flipped her shit, and I don't think Naram would have been able to stop her.
But more importantly, Eursalon is a fuckin paladin. He has dedicated himself to higher principles. He made a promise. He has a goal. He had to intervene.
Paladins don't compromise on their beliefs. Waiting to free Naram would be tacit approval of the notion that avoiding conflict is more important than ending Naram's imprisonment and torture. Eursalon can't accept that. The imprisonment was wrong, and it must be stopped as soon as possible.
Staring some shit out of principle that results in a clusterfuck? Paladin as fuck.
