The direct current (DC) is produced by transforming the generated AC current. Prior to supplying the battery with power. As a result, the transformation is carried out by an on-board adapter. A Battery Management System (BMS) provides direct current (DC) electricity to the battery. Residential ev charging solutions might or might not have BMS.
BMS - Battery Management System 
A Battery Management System assesses and guarantees that a battery that can be charged is safe to use. A BMS's primary roles consist of security tracking, performance optimisation, health surveillance, evaluation, and interaction. The operational temperature is constantly tracked by the BMS. If the BMS detects excessive heat, the engine's power is decreased by default and the vehicle enters safe operating mode.
In order to prevent excessive charging, the BMS regulates the delivery of electricity to the battery. It also keeps track of the cell's individual packets. The BMS determines the State of Charge. It is related to the battery's available power and decides the vehicle's range. The BMS connects with the on-board charger and manages the charging of the battery pack effectively.
About On-board charging 
To understand how AC EV charging works, we must first understand the purpose of the on-board charger. The on-board charger regulates the current flow and voltage parameters of the battery charging process. The longevity of a battery is determined by this aspect. The on-board charger supports two charging modes: continuous current and a constant voltage.
Continuous current charging is fast and efficient; however, it can lead to overcharging. The drawback of continuous voltage charging is that it might cause excessive heat at first. As a result, the power source begins to charge at a steady current. When the power source hits a particular limit, continuous current charging begins. An on-board charger must have this feature.
To decrease EMI and distortion from harmonics, an electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter should be installed at the PFC boost converter's input. In the initial stage, the PFC stage (Power factor controller or Power factor correction) transforms alternating (AC) electricity to direct current. This section of the charger controls whether the charger may use either one, two, or all three alternating voltage phases.
The 700V output voltage is sent to the following phase. The next stage is the LLC converter. The voltage that is input is 700V, and the outcome voltage is the battery's voltage at any point during the charging period. The resultant DC signal is split into a switched square wave, which is then utilized to drive a converter, which produces the required DC voltage.
