Ok I watched the "very short treks", made for the TAS anniversary, and uhhhh why are they so bad ??? Like it's actually hard to watch from how cringe it is. I'm actually confused, the animation looks like TAS but the writing and the vibe is COMPLETELY different I do not get what they were going for

I need to talk about how much I ADORE Star Trek’s 23/24th century Human fashion

I mean it’s ridiculous and so brightly colored and I know part of it was the time it was made (sorta) but like. I love how unapologetically over saturated and/or goth it is at ALL times.

It feels like fast fashion died and “let’s made this article of clothing as innocuous/mass appealing as possible so everyone will buy it” died with it.

The expectations and mass marketing is gone so people really just started leaning into “I’m gonna wear a neon blue and green skin tight tailored turtleneck and NOBODY is gonna say a damn thing”

You know what a quasi-utopia future is to me? Nobody giving a fuck about pattern mixing or wearing shit that’s considered “too much” and what’s considered “conventionally fashionable” is DEAD in the ground. Wear what makes YOU happy!

The best part is everyone (who looks comfortable in their own skin) looks GREAT, genuinely. I love it and wish more people felt comfortable letting themselves wear some crazy shit every now and then.

obviously i would never say anything mean about spock but if i was working on the enterprise and said something nasty and the captain asked me to repeat it in that tone of voice with that expression on his face while not even looking at me i'd kill myself immediately. kirk gave that dude the fucking business. that whole moment was bananas and the fact that picard is NOT stepping the fuck up means i can't respect him
