SPEED: I am far from being fast with things. Used to be faster a year or so ago but those days are long gone and I just go with the flow of my motivation and brain being willing enough to work with me. Summer’s worse due to the heat and I want to either sleep or not do anything if I can help it. Some days I can write entire novels and other days I can’t even string together two sentences, all part of the cycle of writing for me.
REPLIES: I usually get them done when I see em in my notifs, but things have slipped by me or I plain don’t have any idea how to reply for a time. Chuck em into the drafts till inspiration hits me or I let it go and wait to catch the next one but this happens very rarely as I like to do the replies and what not. Music is a big help for getting the ‘feeling’ of a reply, so usually when I get down to business, I have a playlist going.
STARTERS I like writing em’. Ranges from a one liner, a few sentences, a paragraph or even multiple para’s depending on how well my writing juices are for that splice of time. The more I know about a character or how Joseph’s feelings are, the more I can write and expand upon. I usually don’t tag as a first-off-the-bat cause I don’t know how new mutuals take to that and I usually wait off on the sidelines ahdfnlgj but don’t let that stop ya. Give a little time, let the developments happen and you’ll end up having a certain Joestar kicking down the door at 3 am to talk about stupid shit.
INBOX -Stares at my inbox- Ehehe.. well.. y’see about that.. its been at least 3 years since I had an absolutely empty askbox anslfjg But I am making an effort to try and cut down on how many asks I got. Usually I try to answer within a few days if I ain’t in the groove or it’ll take anywhere from a week to months. I apologize for this and I apologize again for when I have to just delete some asks cause I don’t know how to answer or feel it’s not relevant anymore. There’s really no two ways about this aldsjgg Don’t let it discourage ya from sending in another however.
SELECTIVITY I’m semi selective only cause I don’t want to deal with any drama that happens in fandom. As long as you’re chill and don’t go about poking things or doing call-outs, vaguing frequently, etc, I’m content enough. I’m like that oasis in a desert y’know? I like my little part of the fandom. May or may not follow back, depending on how well I think our writing styles work together or how compatible I feel with another writer, how fast my dash goes as I dislike when it updates too frequently. Me being semi selective does not mean I won’t accept asks from non-mutuals. I ain’t all that strict on this whole selectivity unless I do need to put my foot down to maintain my sense of peace on this hellsite.
WISHLIST Treasure Hunting AU. Anything that deals with some Ancient/Past v Modern gimmick. Joseph having more time spent with his mother, EoH with him meeting his family and having it NOT become an all out battle royale anldfsjg. There’s like a lotta complications with Joseph I feel.. on a deeper note, a side that’s never touched upon in the show and I love to explore my ideas on what those might entail and how it affects him. In short, I’m usually up for just about anything, just chuck something at me and I’ll say if I like it/don’t think it’ll work/expand more on it with my suggestions/ etc. AU’s are the bread and butter of this blog.
HONEST NOTE I keep saying it-- I’m slow as fuck both on here and on discord but please, never take that as I’m bored with one or any negativity pertaining to that notion. I just have a Hell brain that decides when it wants to socialize and when it doesn’t. Doesn’t help with being Taurus cause we enjoy our solitude and we’re stubborn even with ourselves alfsjgn but I try to get back as I can to people when I am able to. Other times I don’t know what to say so never be afraid to just chuck a brick at me and tell me to come out my cave cause I do forget shit and replying is one of those things.
All in all.. This blog shitposts and the portrayal may not be what people expect from a Joseph but hell, I’m just a guy trying to have a good time. Tired usually but writing’s just one of those enjoyments to life. Plenty of fish in the sea as the saying goes.

SCENARIO REQUEST: ❝mirio’s scare.❞
Tumblr media
[ Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia ] [ Characters: Togata Mirio ]
「The third-year students who rank among the top of all U.A. students known as The Big 3. Mirio decided to challenge Class 1-A because having them witness their experiences personally would be better than a simple explanation.」
TOGATA MIRIO
It was exciting to see the Big Three of UA. The three third years at UA who stand at the top of all current UA students You were a bit surprised to be given the privilege to see them in person. Just as you expected, they have a completely different aura than most people. They're far more experienced and had mastered their own quirks to the extent that it could match Pro Heroes.
"Why don't you all fight me?!"
Honestly, you were a bit surprised when he suddenly said that out loud. Mirio mentioned something about having you all experience what they have experienced firsthand, seeing that this will get through you faster than by explaining it with words. Now standing in the gymnasium donning your gym uniforms, you gulped nervously. It was maybe out of excitement to see how you would pair up against one of the top students. Some were still in disbelief.
"Um.....Is this for real?" Sero asked.
He did mention about taking all of you at once but was it really okay? Judging from the way he was warming up, you could assume that he was ready for this. You got yourself ready for any attacks and waited for your friends to make the first move. There was this feeling in your veins akin to nervousness. You wonder what kind of quirk he has and how strong he was. He seemed very confident in his abilities, seen from how he challenged to take everyone on. He was stretching when he assured that it was for real. The blonde seemed a bit enthusiastic while his other friend still held doubt in all this. At least you had experience with real villains, maybe you could face the senior head on.
"Whenever you're ready then. Come at me. Who's gonna be first?!" Mirio grinned, looking at the ground. Surprisingly, Midoriya was the first one to step forward, beating Kirishima who seemed to have wanted to go first earlier. After being suspended from school for a while, the viridian haired male had mentioned about how he promised to make an effort to catch up with everyone else. You watched as Midoriya stretch a bit before taking a low stance, green sparks of lightning littering his whole body.
"I guess the close combat squad will be charging first.....!" you mumbled mostly to yourself. The rest of your classmates took in open themselves and readied themselves for the impending fight. Charging at full speed at the senior with electric current running through his body, Midoriya closed the distance within an instant. What you didn't expect was to see the sudden exposure of skin. Mirio's clothes began to fall before the battle even properly started. The girls instantly shielded their eyes, clearly surprised. Some even let out a scream as Mirio chuckled while he pulled up his pants.
This gave Midoriya an opportunity to strike. He leaped at the blonde and swung his leg, aiming for the side of Mirio's pace. Judging by the force, he was putting, he could be sent a few meters away if not defended properly. However, his leg phased through his face. Midoriya skidded on his feet and landed, narrowing his eyes at his senior as he tried to process the quirk he possessed. A torrent of attacks from those who had long-ranged quirk, phased through his body. You already had an idea of how his quirk works at this point.  Using a combination of his Quirk and technique, Mirio has defeated half of Class 1-A within a few minutes. In the blink of an eye, the long-distance fighters were all taken out, leaving those who excelled in close combat left. You stared at your friends in worry, most were groaning in pain from being hit full force.
It didn't take long for him to defeat half of those who remained standing. Midoriya seemed to have realized how Mirio's quirk worked and predict his movements but even so, that wasn't enough to take him down. You had managed to evade his attack by pinpointing his location but it didn't go so well for the rest. It felt a little bit awkward to be standing in the battlefield along with a half-naked man as your opponent.
"Oh, so there is one person left! So, I guess, it's a one-on-one fight." Mirio beamed at you. Instead of giving him the opportunity to take you by surprise, you dashed forward and aimed for his face with a raised fist. As you predicted, he phased through you and stood behind you. Thanks to your naturally gifted senses, you were able to block his attack but the amount of power he put into it. You tried being fast and instinctive instead of hesitating. At once instance, you had managed to predict where he was going to pop up and got behind him. You tried to move in fast to land a hit before he could activate his quirk but he seemed to have sensed you somehow.
Pulling the same trick with Midoriya, he moved to poke you in the eye. You felt your heart leap out of your chest, he had moved too fast for you to react and your body broke out into cold sweat. You lost your balance, knowing that it was impossible for you to avoid this attack. Knowing his quirk beforehand still didn't prepare you for what's to come. You tripped on your foot, narrowly dodging his attack and falling onto the ground before Mirio could land a hit. He took a step back and readied himself again.
You find it hard to breathe and collapsed on your knees, one hand on the ground while the other was clutching your chest, trying to steady your breathing.
Mirio was in shock, he didn't expect anyone to react to his attacks like that. Then again, he had changed his movement at the very last minute and you must've thought that he was going to gouge out your eyeballs. He rubbed your back, crouching next to you while telling you to take a few deep breaths. Your entire body felt numb and it was as if you had disconnected from reality. All you knew that your ankle was throbbing and that you were struggling to breathe.
It was just embarrassing.
"Is she gonna be alright?" Mirio nervously fidgeted as he watched the old woman fix up your ankle.
"Calm down, will you? It's not like she was hit by a bus or anything like that. She just twisted her ankle, it will take some time for it to heal too." Recovery Girl told Mirio.
"I'm fine, senpai. Please don't worry too much." you smiled gently at the blonde.
"Now hurry up and leave, gotta change her clothes and send her off to her next class." the woman pushed Mirio out of the room.
"Get better soon!"
You were brought to Recovery Girl's office to receive treatment for your twisted ankle. The entire time you stayed inside, pressing an ice pack against your ankle to prevent swelling. Lucky for you, it wasn't a serious injury and healed after a few days. For the entire week, you couldn't help but sigh at how weak you were. Everyone was supportive though, stating that it was natural for you to react like that. But you were beating yourself up constantly for being so mentally weak. You gathered everyone's notebooks and headed out the classroom to hand them over to Present Mic. Along the way, you spotted a familiar blonde walking down the same hallway as you.
"Ah, Mirio-senpai.....Good morning." you flashed him a sheepish smile, bowing your head. Mirio did the same, giving you a smile and saying good morning.
"Sorry.....I didn't mean to freak you out last time." Mirio rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, a small smile on his face. You instantly shook your head, clutching the stack of homework in your hands tightly.
"No! It's not your fault senpai! In fact, this just shows that I need more training. I don't deserve to be a hero if such things manage to trigger me." you mumbled the last part mostly to yourself but with the distance between the two of you wasn't so far that he was able to hear most of it. The conversation died just like that and you weren't sure how to continue. Just as it was starting to get a bit too awkward, Mirio spoke before you could.
"Well, with lots of training, you'll get stronger!" he said, giving you a toothy grin. Your mood instantly brightened up, influenced by his own cheery behavior towards the awkwardness between the two of you.
"Yes!"

Requests suddenly came raining down into our askbox and that surprised us! It's really nice to see what everyone had thought up off. Anyways, thanks for leaving such an interesting request for us! Sorry if this didn't meet your expectations. ― author Natsuki

ARE YOU TAKING PROMPTS NOW????? (i also have a morality question i saw moana and absolutely loved it, and what i do when i love canon is to write fic. but i'm desperately afraid that i won't be able to respect the polynesian culture enough. so. to fic or not to fic?)
UM NO NOT REALLY. I took the SHARKS!! warning off my askbox simply because I’m no longer writing ficlets with such regularity, so the DELUGE of prompt requests had slowed right down.
there’s a fair chance I will chuck a hissy fit at my novel at some point in the next few months and need to work on something short and fanficcy; if I decide to do ficlets in response to prompts, I will make a post about it, and make it clear when this period OPENS and CLOSES.
***
as for your other question: I am definitely the wrong person to be making a decisive morality call on that one, given that I am the whitest anglo-australian to ever white. if you want my opinion, you can have it.
there are a fair amount of articles and thinkpieces out there about writing other cultures and diversity in sff; I really like this one by aliette de bodard.
my personal view is that fanfiction is a slightly different beast given that you’re not trying to make money from your portrayal of a culture, or from having your voice amplified over that of people from within that culture; you’re engaging fannishly with a portrayal that already exists. but here are some things to consider:
doing some research when you’re writing about a culture you don’t know is still a VERY GOOD IDEA
you might get some things wrong. we don’t know what we don’t know! I’ve seen a couple of fascinating posts on my dash from the yuri on ice fandom about misunderstandings and mistakes that non-japanese people make when writing about japanese characters and culture; nobody’s suggesting these writers are being appropriative or that you shouldn’t ever write in the fandom unless you’re japanese, but it’s worth recognising that we’ve all got cultural blindspots.
you might be accidentally offensive, and this might be pointed out to you, and you have to be prepared to own it gracefully if that happens.
and I mean, if we’re talking about moana specifically, there’s also commentary out there about the ways in which moana is and is not considered a respectful portrayal by various people from various polynesian cultures, and the problems with discussing/portraying ‘polynesian culture’ as a monolith. this article mentions or links to some of that commentary.
so, look. just as with most aspects of pop culture, no single entity is going to descend from the heavens and proclaim CONGRATULATIONS, THIS THING IS ~UNPROBLEMATIC~. there’s no consensus on that. not even for the canon itself. if you want to write the story as an act of love and appreciation for the film, then write it. make your own call about whether you want to post it, if you’re ‘desperately afraid’ of being disrespectful.
but that decisive morality call you want? it might not exist. and I certainly can’t arbitrate it for you.
